Betrothed to the Badman (Russian Bratva Book 8) by Hayley Faiman (29)

Eighteen Months Later

WALKING OVER TO THE sliding glass door, I look out at the mountains in front of me. They’re nothing like I’ve ever seen before, the tops capped with snow. We’re in the city of Denver, but it doesn’t feel like a city with a view like this.

I let my eyes fall a little further, and see a pond not too far below us. We’re staying at a Bratva owned condominium, the same one that Timofei called home for a few years.

“What are you doing out of bed, devochka?” Fei asks as his hand slips around my bare waist from behind. His fingers travel to my naked breast, and he squeezes my flesh as his lips touch the side of my neck.

“Just thinking. It’s so pretty here,” I sigh as I lean against his bare chest.

His jaw scrapes my shoulder, and I still find it odd that he’s clean shaven. Though I think he’s still the most handsome man I’ve ever seen, I like the stubble instead of the full beard he once sported.

Timofei hums as his other hand slides around my waist and between my legs. I feel his fingers slip through my center, and my body automatically responds, my ass pushing against his hard length as I spread my legs. He nips my neck as his fingers glide inside of me, and his thumb presses against my clit. With a moan, I lift my arm to wrap around the back of his neck for support.

“It’s stunning here, but mainly because your naked body is in view,” he murmurs against my skin as he slides his fingers from inside of me and replaces them with the head of his cock.

I let out a breath as he fills me. “Fei,” I whisper as he squeezes my breast again, tugging on my nipple slightly.

We don’t speak again; my focus is on the gorgeous mountains in front of me, but it’s mainly on the spectacular specimen pressed against me from behind—the way his cock feels inside of me, and the way his hot breath feels against my neck.

His hips move faster, harder with each thrust, and his fingers squeeze my breast tighter, as if he’s holding onto me for support. I place my fingers between my legs, and start to touch my clit. Circling against myself, I hear him growl into my neck as his hips erratically slam against me.

I whimper and ask him for more, begging him to give me everything he has to give. Without skipping a beat, he delivers. That’s when I cry out as I come around him, my pussy squeezing his dick so hard I’m afraid I’m going to hurt him. Timofei groans as his hips still, and his release fills me.

“Maybe that made a baby,” he chuckles as he slowly slides in and out of me. His lips gently caress me, and his fingers massage my breast.

I hum as my response, but don’t tell him that we didn’t make a baby just now. It isn’t possible. We made one six-weeks ago. I don’t tell him because I want to wait until the right time. I don’t know when that will be, but it doesn’t feel like this exact moment.

We separate and shower together, touching and cleaning, and making love one more time in the hot steaming shower. I’m thankful it has a bench, as my legs were already shaky from my first orgasm, and this time I was able to ride him.

“Are you ready for today?” Timofei asks me as we start to get dressed for the day.

I practically snort. “A kid’s party? Please, do you know what a pro I am now?” I ask, as I pull the navy-blue romper I chose to wear up my legs before cinching it tightly at the waist.

“What makes you a pro, Devvy?” he asks with a grin as he slips his shirt on and begins to button it.

“You’re kidding, right? Between Ashley and Inessa’s babies,” I shake my head. “Old hat, auntie right here,” I grin. Ashley and Inessa have each added one more baby to their growing families, and I’ve enjoyed watching every part of the process in anticipation of my own children.

Though my own brother’s each have crazy broods, I’m not around them as much as I am Ashley and Inessa. Not only are my brothers and Timofei still on the edge of friendly and not quite over the hump, I’m just not as close to them as I would like to be.

My father made sure that we weren’t a tightknit family, but the five of them were always close, mainly because they were boys all around the same ages. I’ve tried throughout the years, to speak and spend time with Aidan, my nieces and nephews. The fact that my sister-in-law has never liked me makes things uncomfortable and awkward. I just have a feeling that it will always be that way for us.

“Ready?” Timofei asks, breaking me out of my daze.

I turn to face him and I see his big smile, his blue eyes dancing. I wonder if this is the right time, then I decide against it. Maybe tonight, after the birthday party for Misha, when we’re alone in bed, curled next to each other in the dark. Maybe that’s when I’ll tell him that I’m carrying his child.

I look across the grassy backyard and watch as my wife holds Misha’s hand. He’s not very stable at just over two years old, and it makes me smile to see him try and keep up with her strides. A shadow appears next to me, but I don’t even have to look to know who it is.

“Mika,” I grunt as I take a drink of my beer—fucking Mika and his fucking beer.

He leans against the deck railing and sighs. “Oksana is pregnant again,” he murmurs.

I nod, still not looking at him. I knew she was. I don’t know what it was about her, but her face looked a little fuller and her eyes just a tad brighter than they did the last time I saw her. Though it could have been anything. She’s so fucking happy these days, she exudes giddiness.

“This is a good thing, yeah?”

Mika sighs before he speaks. “Yeah, it’s a really great thing,” he murmurs. “I know I’ve never really thanked you properly for what you did for us all those years ago,” he begins. I stand up a little straighter, ready to shut this shit down, but he just shakes his head. “Let me get it out, brother,” he rasps.

“Thank you, Timofei. Thank you for allowing me to be the one to love Oksana. Without her, my life would be shit. Without Misha, I don’t think I could fucking breathe. And now, a new baby? Oksana has given me everything in this whole fucking world, including a family.”

“Thank you, Mika,” I state. When I don’t say anything else, he lifts his chin. “Thank you for loving my sister the way she always deserved to be loved. Thank you for making her happy,” I shrug. “We done?” I ask, lifting a brow.

“Fucking never, brother,” he smirks as he slaps me on the back. I shake my head, deciding it’s time for me to scoop my nephew up and teach him all the things his mother would find unsavory.

I hurry toward Devyn and Misha, stealing the boy straight from the ground in one giant swoop. I bury my face in his neck and inhale his sweet baby scent, which causes him to let out the most perfect giggle.

“Now Misha, let me teach you about girls,” I start, but a hand on my arm halts me. “Devvy?” I ask turning to her.

She’s crying, and she gives me a watery smile, but I don’t understand it. Setting Misha down, I pull her into my arms. “What is it, devochka?”

“You love him so very much, don’t you?” she asks oddly. I nod as my eyes search hers.

“You know I do,” I admit with a tip of my mouth.

Her lips tremble and she lifts up to press them against mine before she whispers.

I’m pregnant.”

The air whooshes from my lungs as I stagger back slightly and look between my wife’s gorgeous face and her flat stomach and then back again. She’s smiling, and it’s the biggest smile I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

“I love you,” I whisper back to her before I wrap my hand around the back of her neck and pull her in for a kiss. Turning to face Oksana, who isn’t very far away, Misha now in her arms, I grin. “Are you ready to be an aunt?” I ask.

Oksana’s eyes widen and tears fill them instantly. “Finally,” she breathes before she crowds us. With Misha in her arms, we have a group hug.

This is my family. Oksana, Mika, Misha, and my beautiful wife. I also have a second family in Yakov and Dominik’s little families as well. These are all things that I never felt possible, after I lost my mother.

The happiness I have, the happiness all of the people closest to me have, and the feelings of absolute peace. I didn’t think any of it was possible. Not when my life seemed to be in tatters.

I stood up for what I thought was right. The road wasn’t easy. In fact, it was hard as fuck. There were fights, backstabbing, and fear of war; but eventually, compromises were made, and there is now peace in New York—for now.
