The next day, I arrive at work and wonder what the day will bring. Chippendales? Hot power? No… Maybe it will be quiet and boring. Maybe yesterday was just a fluke and these men just treat new employees nicely the first day and then forget you.
I put away my stuff and sit at the desk. Turning on my PC, I see I am 20 minutes early. Eager much? I ask myself and snigger.
“Good Morning!”
I glance up and meet a blue gaze.
Trevor.
He extends a cup out. “I hope you like latte?”
I nod. “I love them. Thank you.”
“So, you’re here early,” he notes.
“Yep, and so are you.”
He smiles.
I blow into the cup and take a sip. “MMMM, wonderful.” I moan.
Trevor is now staring at me.
I look up at him. “What? Foam on my lip?” I ask and swipe my upper lip with my tongue.
His eyes seem to deepen in color, like that cobalt color yesterday in the elevator. “Um, no. It’s just that sound you just—”
“Good Morning!”
I look up to see Micah with donuts.
He walks over and sets the box down.
“You brought me donuts?” I ask.
He nods and looks over at Trevor. “To go with the coffee?”
Trevor nearly squints his eyes at him.
Micah bursts out laughing.
I look between the two. “Well, you two are so nice, welcoming the newbie to the office. Wow.” I lean forward. “I hope the whole box isn’t all for me?” I raise a brow at Micah.
He shrugs. “I didn’t know what kind you like.”
“So, you got me a dozen?” I ask in shock.
He laughs. “Well, ole Trev and I can eat the ones you don’t like.”
Ole Trev raises a brow at him. “Yeah, kid. I’ll have one.
“Well, good morning.”
We all turn to look at Jake. He is carrying two cups.
Micah grins at him. “Did you need extra coffee this morning?”
Jake smiles back then spots the cup on my desk. “Well, no. But as I see our Ms. Hawkins has coffee and seeing as you are TOO young to have one, this would be for Trevor.”
Micah glares at him as his smile drops.
Trevor laughs. “Hand it over old man.”
I look between the three men. I want so badly to ask…well, what do I ask? Why the old man, kid and teasing? Maybe it is just the way they bond? Like men are different than women as we females know. Competitiveness is there, but loaded with power and not many words. Not like women who try to strut their wares around as in their looks or boobs. They will also talk shit about you when your back is turned.
“So…donuts?” Jake asks as he lifts the lid off the box.
“Wait!” Micah snaps. “Jenna hasn’t chosen one yet.”
We all stare at him.
He shrugs. “Well, I bought them for her.”
Jake laughs and smacks him on the back. “Well, she doesn’t look like she could eat them all.”
I am sipping my latte, yes it’s good but I am sipping cause my nerves are already stretched. They all seem to be competing and it does seem to be over me? Maybe it is just something they had already been doing before I came along. Like a pissing contest. I wince. I hate being in one of those, it could surely get messy. I almost choke as I try hard not to giggle.
All three hot, intense gazes swing over to me.
I instantly stop sipping. Did they hear me giggle? Oh, wow. To have all three sets of eyes on me at once. Dammit, what had they been saying? I’ve lost my mind here for a moment.
“Well?” Trevor asks.
I swallow the coffee and try so hard not to show how I am electrified inside at their intense stares. “What?” I squeak out.
“I bet it’s the chocolate,” Micah suggests.
“No, no. Cinnamon bun,” Trevor adds.
“Hmm…” Jake looks over the pastries. “The French twist.”
My eyes widen. “How did you know?”
He grins. “I can read…women.”
I again swallow. Yep, just like in my journal. The man knows what is inside you and he doesn’t quit till he gets deep enough to get at it.
Trevor rolls his eyes.
Micah again, does the oddest thing. He chuckles.
As they all three watch me, I lean over and grab the twist. Yes, it is my favorite. Just do not show how nervous you are. Oh, easy to say. God, they make a woman want to… I raise the pastry to my lips. They are all watching me. I take a bite. Then a moan slips out as I chew.
The office gets quiet. Like too quiet.
I look up and all three men are staring.
Staring at me again. Only these gazes are not curious like a minute before this—these are hot, blazing stares.
I think I may have to sit down. To hide the shaky legs, the hard nipples. You know…the side effect list of being around Greek gods… who are STARING at you!
Jake looks away and takes a sip of his coffee.
Micah seems to snap to and grabs a donut without even looking to see what kind.
Trevor keeps staring.
Micah jabs Trevor with his elbow.
Trevor seems to snap out of it and grabs a long john.
Suddenly, all three men each stride off in a different direction.
Micah stops, turns and says, “Have a great day, Jenna.” He winks and strolls away.
I look from him just in time to see Jake’s door closing.
Trevor slips out of sight.
I plop down into my perfect comfy, lumbar chair, wince at the feel of my wet panties and say, “Yes, big HUGE trouble.”
