The Honey Trap by Karli Perrin (32)

Chapter Sixty Eight

Half an hour later, I head back up to the penthouse after making sure that all of the footage got wiped. Nobody even questioned the order – one of the perks of being the boss. I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t tempted to keep a copy for my own personal use. But if I get my own way, I won’t need to watch a recording of us because I’ll have the real thing. I get hard thinking about the way she called out my name as she came all over my fingers and mouth. It was beyond anything I could have ever imagined and even though we were interrupted, I got my own pleasure from pleasuring her.

I feel like after tonight, our connection runs even deeper and I’m determined to get her to open up to me. I’ll do whatever I can to help her through her struggles.

I step out of the elevator and get a shock when I see Buzz leaning against the front door, Sophia’s bag at his feet. “There you are,” he says.

“Here I am,” I reply as I walk over to him.

“Where were you?”

I pull the keycard out of my pocket and unlock the door. “I went to see IT. They have a problem with the servers.”

He yawns. “I stopped listening as soon as you said IT.”

“How long have you been here?” I ask as he follows me inside.

“About fifteen minutes. Eric told me that you were in the building so I just thought I’d wait.”

“You should have called first.”

“I never call first.”

I take the bag off of him. “Well maybe you should. What if I was busy?”

Were you busy?”

“No but I could have been.”

He narrows his eyes and looks around the room. “Why are all of the blinds closed?”

“Because I’ve had my eye surgery.”

“I thought your surgery was next week.”

“No, it was this morning.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, Buzz. I’m pretty sure somebody sliced open my corneas this morning.”

“You’re acting strange.”

I laugh. “I’m acting strange? You’re acting strange. Did you come here for a reason or are you just going to question me?”

“What’s in the bag?”

“So you’re just going to question me.”

“Whose bag is it?”

“Mine.”

“Why did you leave it outside?”

“I forgot that I put it down. I was just coming back up to get it.”

“What’s inside?”

“Stuff.”

“What kind of stuff?”

“Jesus. Just stuff. Snacks and a change of clothes. I was going to stay over at Indie’s. She broke up with Ted Spielberg.”

“Who?”

“The movie director.”

“Is he related to Stephen Spielberg?”

“No, it’s just a joke.”

He perches on the edge of the sofa. “So let me get this straight. This is your bag and you were going to stay over at your sister’s house?”

“Yep.”

“Then why the fuck has it got a nurse’s uniform inside? You better start talking.”

I laugh. Why does he have to stick his nose into everything? “You looked in the bag?”

“No, it was just a lucky guess. Of course I looked. It was just left outside your door. What if there was a bomb inside? I was trying to help. You should be thanking me.”

“Thanks for trying to help but if there was a bomb inside, you probably would have set it off by handling it. You should have called me before looking.”

“You’re only saying that because of the kinky shit inside. Are you going to tell me the truth or do I need to report you for incest?”

“You’re blowing it out of proportion. It’s just a dumb costume.”

“What about the book?”

“What about it?”

“I read some of it to pass the time. It’s pure filth.”

I raise my eyebrow. Sophia reads erotica? I didn’t think it was possible to want her any more than I already do. “It is?”

“Yes. Explain.”

“I can’t believe that you actually read something other than a playboy magazine.”

“I also have to read your boring ass emails every day at work. Now stop trying to avoid the question and tell me what’s going on.”

I sigh. “Fine. It’s not my bag.”

“Okay. This is the part where you tell me whose it is.”

“It’s a friend’s. She came to visit earlier and left it by accident.”

A huge shit eating grin takes over his face. “And she brought a nurse’s uniform with her?”

“No, she didn’t bring it…she was wearing it.”

His eyes nearly pop out of his head. “Even better! Did you get laid?”

“No.”

“Don’t lie.”

“I’m not.”

“Which friend was it? I thought I was your only friend. Wait a minute…was it Sophia?”

“No.”

“I had phone sex with Lori about an hour ago and she mentioned that she was home alone.”

“So?”

“So she was home alone because Sophia was at your apartment wearing a nurse’s uniform!”

“She could have been anywhere.”

“She could have been but she wasn’t. How was the sex?”

“I’ve already told you, we didn’t have sex.”

“Whatever. A woman shows up dressed as a hot nurse and you don’t have sex? You really think I’m going to believe that?”

“Believe what you want but it’s the truth.”

“So then how did the costume end up in the bag?”

“She got changed into some other clothes.”

“So she got naked in your apartment.”

I’d never actually thought about it that way. Great, now I’m horny again. “Remind me why you’re here.”

“To hang out. I need to get my mind off of Lori’s secret file. Even the phone sex didn’t work.” His eyes turn sad. “And because it’s the anniversary tomorrow.”

The anniversary of his brother’s death. I nod. “I was going to ask if you wanted to go somewhere or do something.”

“I’m having breakfast with my family and lunch with Lori but I’m pretty sure I’ll want to get crazy drunk at night.”

“You know I’m here for you, brother. Whatever you need, just ask.”

“Thanks, man. Do you really mean that?”

“Of course I do.”

“Okay then, in that case, I need you to tell me what the sex was like with Sophia. Was it as good as you’d imagined?”

I roll my eyes and walk out of the room. “You told me to ask!” he shouts after me.
