Sweet Southern Satisfaction (Georgia Peaches Book 2) by Colbie Kay, Chianti Summers (7)

Chapter 6

Beep, Beep, Beep! What the hell? The alarm is going off way too early! Normally I am awake with no alarm. I never oversleep. Damn you, Maverick.

Jumping out of bed, I do my normal routine as fast as I can and get dressed in yoga pants with a Bulldogs t-shirt, then sprint down the hallway to the kitchen. I can’t be late for my Business 101 class; the professor is strict when it comes to being on time. He will shut the fuckin’ door and not let you in; plus, my business proposal is due today. I grab my coffee—thank goodness for auto settings on coffee pots—and out the door I go.

As the door is shutting, I hear Cayden. “Slow down, hyper ass!” Shit, that reminds me; we need to talk about this break-up between Dex and Callie. These two are miserable without each other and even less enjoyable to be around. Hell, Callie doesn’t even come out of her room.

Huff, huff, huff. Whew, thank you for letting my legs move fast this morning. “Wait!” I yell down the hallway. I reach class just in time; Professor Lane was ready to shut the door.

“Good Morning, Ms. Fisher. Glad you could join us,” he states. Sarcasm much? He may be a good professor, but damn, he is a hard ass. “Now that we have everyone here, let’s get started. First order of business today: remember that your proposals are due before you leave. They will count for half your grade.” Blah, blah, blah, that is all I really hear.

Thumping my pen on my desk, I go back to the other night when Mav showed up with that rust bucket of a car. He is unbelievable.

When he showed up, he was the last person I wanted to see. Mav was trying so hard to not show his ass side and apologize. I’m excited to get my hands dirty on the rust bucket. I think the car will be beautiful when restored. When we went for a drive, I noticed that there was more work to be done than meets the eye. Maverick, bless his heart, will be helping me. Haha!

It was the gentle touch against my cheek that threw me off-kilter—and that was all I needed to know that he has a softer side. He may be an asshole, but he definitely makes up for it in the fuckin’ area because, have mercy, that man knows how to let his whole body do the talking. From his eyes to his tongue and his massive dick, Maverick makes me feel whole again. He knows just the right amount of rough to give me and it makes me soar. He makes me want to lose all control and inhibitions. The man knows all the right buttons to push, and with perfect timing.

Mhmm.

I feel things again, but I can’t let it show. This man is starting to chip away the ice that surrounds my heart—but I can’t let it show.

“Ms. Fisher!” Professor Lane calls, bringing me back to reality. “Class is over. You need to turn in your proposal,” he says.

“Sorry, Professor Lane. Here is my proposal.” I hold it up in the air as I walk over to his desk to turn it in.

“Good Day, Ms. Fisher,” he says with more sarcasm than need be.

“Bye, professor.” With that, I am done with class today. I need to catch up with Cayden; hopefully she is home so we can try to figure something out with Callie. I return home to see that Cayden hasn’t made it back from her classes yet.

I go to the kitchen and make a pot of coffee because, have mercy, I am gonna need it to get through the rest of this day. I go into the living room, take a seat on the couch, and wait for Cayden to get home. Hell, maybe I will try to get a cat nap in before she gets home.

Nope, not gonna happen; she just came through the door.

“Hey, Cayd, come have a seat,” I tell her. She walks over and literally plops down.

“What’s up?” she asks.

“Cayden, we need to do something about Callie,” I tell her as we sit on our couch.

“I know; it’s been two weeks and I don’t think she’s coming out anytime soon.” We both look down the hallway. “Dex is almost as bad, but at least he’s still going to class.”

“Yeah, it really did a number on her. If I didn’t think he had a good reason for what he did, I’d nut-punch Dex so hard his balls would be in China,” I tell Cayden with complete seriousness.

“I know; me too, and that’s the only reason I’m still helping him out with Raine. Callie’s going to be pissed at me if she ever finds out.” Cayden bites the inside of her cheek as her lips purse.

“Hopefully we can take care of the two lovebirds before she finds out. Call Zac and see if they’re home.”

Cayden pulls out her cell phone, brings Zac’s contact up, and waits for him to answer.

We get the confirmation that Maverick and Zac are both home, so we head over to their apartment.

Maverick answers the door in all his gorgeous glory; I’ll never tell him that, though. With just basketball shorts on, good grief I hate him, but I want to lick him, he looks so edible. Those muscles and tattoos…gah! I may hate him, but the things that he can do to my body are incredible.

“Keep on task, Cydney,” I tell myself, and act like he doesn’t even affect me as I walk in the door.

“What do we owe the pleasure for this visit, ladies?” Zac asks from his spot on the couch, a PlayStation controller in hand, but the game paused.

“We need to come up with a plan to get Callie and Dex back together,” Cayden pipes up as she looks at the two guys.

“And how are we supposed to do that?” Maverick asks, standing with his arms crossed over his amazing chest.

“We don’t know,” I deadpan, then add, “We were hoping y’all might have an idea.”

“We could just have them both outside at the same time,” Zac replies.

“That won’t work; Callie would just run back inside as soon as she saw Dex.” Cayden’s quick to shoot down his idea, but she’s right. It has to be somewhere she can’t run away as easily.

“What about The Dugout?” Maverick chimes in.

Shaking my head, I answer, “No! That’s where the problem started in the first place.” Sometimes I wonder if he uses his upper head at all.

“Why do you have to tell her? Just tell her she’s going out. If she questions it, make up some other bar name.” Maverick shrugs his shoulder like it’s just that simple. But maybe it is.

“And you guys will have Dex there?” My eyes narrow on the two guys.

“Yes! His moping ass needs to get out anyway,” Zac responds as he starts the game back up.

Cayden is giving him death glares as she says, “It’s settled then. Seven pm at The Dugout.”

“Yep, we will see y’all there.” Maverick walks over to the door, opens it for us, and as I’m walking out, he slaps my ass.

Rounding on him, I bat his hand away. “Asshole.”

“Bitch.” He chuckles as he shuts the door behind me. I’m gonna kick his ass one of these days. I’m secretly smiling, though, as we head back to the condo. It’s time to invade Callie’s space.

Pulling my phone out, I find Momma in my contacts and touch the green box with the phone icon so it dials her number.

“Hello.”

“Hey, Momma. We need you to come watch Raine,” I tell her, and wait for her response.

“I’m already on my way.” Why would she already be on her way? Guess we’ll be seeing her in less than the three-hour drive it takes to get here. Whatever; I don’t have time to question it right now. I fill her in on the plan and ask for her to call when she’s here so I can let her in and we can go straight to the Dugout when she gets here.

Cayden and I get back from Mav and Zac’s apartment and decide it is time to put our plan into action.

“Callie, open this door! We’re coming in whether you like it or not. Enough with the pity party!” I call through the closed door.

Callie is being so fuckin’ stubborn. Cayden and I decide to barge into the room and we are immediately hit with the stench of ass. “Holy shit, Callie! It smells like a rhino’s ass in here.” Cayden and I both plug our noses.

“You are taking a shower right now! You can get up and walk in the bathroom or we will drag your stankin’ ass in there,” I tell her with a look of disgust.

“Then, after you’re dressed, you’re going out with us tonight,” Cayden adds in.

“I’m not going anywhere!” she responds as she gets off of the bed.

“It’s not up for debate. You’re going now—go shower while we clean this nasty mess up,” I tell her as I pick up an old Chinese container and wrinkle up my nose at the smell wafting towards my face.

“Fine!” She stubbornly heads to the bathroom.

Cayden and I finally get Callie in the Jeep and we head out to The Dugout. It’s quiet. Too quiet, actually; it’s not like the three of us have nothing to say. Cayden and I look at each other and I give her a nod to let her have her say with Callie.

“Callie, do you remember the reason you and Dex created a relationship?” Cayden asks, turning in her seat to look at Callie.

“Well, yeah, Cayden, I do. He needed help in Professor Bryant’s class.” Wow, Callie laced that with sarcasm.

This isn’t going to be good. “Hey, did you two notice how Momma reacted to Professor Bryant? Callie, you never told us you had such a hot professor, with his clean-shaven head and perfect, swoon-worthy salt-and-pepper beard,” I interrupt as best I can.

“Cyd, stop changing the subject. She needs to know,” Cayden spits at me before turning back to Callie. “Yes! You’re right, Callie. However, here is a little fact that you need to know. Zac told me that Dex not only needed help in his class but he would watch you. He felt like you were his fuckin’ universe. You are his star and you definitely hung the moon for him.”

Damn, I didn’t even know that. How romantic of Dex.

Cayden turns back around. So I decide to pop in my two cents. “Let’s throw in the fact that Professor Bryant may not have offered you the TA position if you hadn’t have helped Dex. It gave Professor Bryant the knowledge of what you are capable of for his students.”

“Alright, jeez, the two of you can stop. I get it!” Callie huffs.

Great! Glad that’s settled. Just in time too, because we have pulled into the parking lot of The Dugout. We all get out of the Jeep and head inside. Damn, I hope this plan doesn’t backfire.

“What’s he doing here?” Callie asks in a hard tone once she sees Dex. “You set me up? You lied and set me up! Whose side are you on? Take me home,” she demands.

Callie tries to get up from the booth, but I push her shoulder back down. “No. You need to sit here and listen to what Dex has to say.” Callie slumps back into the booth like she doesn’t have the strength for a fight. “You’ve been miserable without him, Callie,” I tell her, then I motion for the guys to sit down. “You love him, but you didn’t even fight for it. You left him without a chance to even explain.” She is fuckin’ pissed right now, but this is something that has to be done.

I hear Callie and Dex starting to talk things out and all I can focus on is the person that is sitting across from me.

Maverick.

I no longer hear Callie. We are both staring into each other’s eyes like we have an itch that needs to be scratched. Unfortunately, that itch will have to wait. This would be much easier if he wasn’t sexy as fuck and didn’t know how to back it up with his body.

It’s been a week since getting the ball rolling with Callie and Dex getting back together. I figured it was time to have a little sister time. We haven’t had a night to veg out in a long time.

“Hey sistas!” I yell through the condo.

“What the hell, Cyd?” Callie responds.

“What, I just thought you and Cayd would be interested in having some sister time tonight. You know, some soda, pizza, ice cream with a little Fifty Shades of Grey. We could just veg out,” I tell her.

“Pizza!” Cayden pops up. The two look at each other, then back at me. “Hell to the yeah!” Callie and Cayden say in unison.

“Fantastic!” I can’t help the smile this puts on my face. “Let’s get ready and head out to get supplies for tonight.”

We are almost ready to get this night started. All we need now is the pizza. Callie has loaded the DVD. I have filled the glasses with drinks, and, of course, Rocky Road ice cream is ready and waiting in the freezer. We hear the chime from the gate to let us know that we have someone wanting in. Looking at the monitor, we notice that it’s the pizza guy.

We buzz the guy in and there’s a knock at the door. “I got it,” Cayden hollers as she is running to the door. This girl loves her pizza. All of a sudden, Callie and I hear this big thud.

“Son of a bitch!” Cayden yells. We go to check on her and we bust out in laughter. Cayden is lying on the floor with one leg up against the wall.

“Oh my gracious, what the hell happened to you?” I ask, trying to control my laughter.

“Well, shit, Cyd, what do you think happened?” she responds.

“It looks like you were so excited about the pizza you tripped over your own feet trying to get to it,” Callie states with more laughter.

“Fuck you bitches!” Cayden exclaims. This just makes the laughter more severe.

Pulling ourselves together, Callie and I help Cayden get back to her feet. While we’re still trying to hold our laughter, there’s another knock at the door.

“We’re coming!” Cayden yells. She is still pissed about her fall. Cayden pays for the pizza and we all head into the kitchen to load up our plates. Time to pig out and watch the movie.

There isn’t a time where we are all quiet. Most of the time one of us our mouth flapping, but when you are watching Christian Grey, you just have to enjoy the scenery.

“That’s right, Christian, you go ahead and rectify the situation,” Callie says.

“Haha, Callie, you tell him. You know you want to be Anastasia,” I tell her.

“Yeah, she does! She wants the handcuffs and crops. Just switch out Christian for Dex and that is one happy lady,” Cayden pipes in.

“Both of you can stuff it. Dex takes very good care of my needs and desires,” Callie huffs.

“Stuff it! Cayden, we need to stuff it.” I grin at Cayden before looking back over at Callie. “Such language, Callie. Oh, my virgin ears!”

Then, the room is filled with laughter, a sound that I have missed hearing. We are wrapped in blankets and sitting next to each other on the couch as we add the last part of this girls’ night: Rocky Road ice cream. We finish Fifty Shades, clean up, and head to bed. Once I get to bed, I pick up my phone and notice that there’s a text message from Maverick.

Asshole: Just wanted to say goodnight.

I smile and send a text back.

Me: Goodnight Sparky

Asshole: Why the hell do you call me Sparky. No, I’m gonna call you I want to hear this.

Me: LMAO you don’t know?

As I am hitting send, Maverick’s name shows up on my screen. Or, rather, Asshole is showing up.

“Hey,” I say after I swipe the screen.

“Tell me why you call me Sparky,” he demands in amusement.

“I call you Sparky because all Skye needed was a new set of spark plugs.” I laugh.

“That never crossed my mind.” He laughs through the phone.

“Why do you call me Firecracker?” Might as well know.

“Because you are full of fire. You take no shit and that is one hell of a sassy mouth you have.” He is mostly stating the truth.

“You’re right; I do have a mouth on me.” I laugh and lie back on my bed. I imagine him doing the same. “What did you guys do today?” I ask, genuinely wanting to know.

“Just our normal practice stuff, and hung out here at the apartment. How was girls’ night?”

“It was fun. How’d you know we we’re having girls’ night?” My brows pull down in confusion.

“Dex. I think him and Callie are texting now.”

“Oh, right! Yeah, I’m glad they are working shit out.”

“So, girls’ night. What did y’all do?”

“Junk food and Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Fifty Shades; do you like the red room of pain?” Shit, has Maverick actually seen the movie—or better yet, read the book?

“Hmm, maybe,” I breathe into the phone. He hasn’t responded. “Maverick?” I question. Maybe he fell asleep.

“I’m here, Cyd,” he answers quietly. “I was just thinking about how you would look tied up to my bed. Would you like that?”

“Maybe. I’ve never been tied up before,” I say seductively.

“Are you in bed?” His deep voice turns husky.

“I am. Are you?” My nipples harden and my core aches at the thought of Maverick tying me up.

“Yeah, I’ve been laying here for hours thinking about you.”

“What have you been thinking about?”

“I was thinking about what I would like to do to you. How I’d like to run my tongue through your pussy and taste how sweet I know you’ll be.” I lower my hand under my shorts and panties; the first touch makes me gasp. “Are you touching yourself, Cyd?”

“Yes,” I quietly moan, and Mav groans in approval.

“Me too,” he replies.

“Tell me more.” I push two fingers inside myself, not able to reach that spot he does.

“I wish I could push inside of you right now and feel how wet you are. Are you wet, Cyd?” He’s breathless and it edges me closer.

“Yes! So wet. If you tied me up, what would you do?” My eyes screw shut, my fingers work faster on my clit as I imagine him stroking his long wide cock.

“Torture you in the best possible way. Make you beg me to let you come. Spank your perfect ass, turning it rosy pink before entering you so slowly and working you into the most intense orgasm of your life,” he says, breathing a little harder.

“I like the sound of that. Are you stroking your cock for me? I want it inside me so bad right now.” My head tilts back.

“Yes, fuck yes! Are you close to coming? I’m so fucking close.” Mav says into the phone and adds, “Flick your clit, Cyd, imagine it’s my tongue.”

“Mav!” I quietly call out his name as my back arches and my orgasm consumes me.

“Cyd!” he grunts out mine.

“So relaxed now.” I smile, even though he can’t see it.

“Yeah, Firecracker, me too.”

“Night, Sparky,” I tell him as I yawn, now exhausted.

“Night, Firecracker!”
