Beast: Death Dealers MC by Kacee Kupser (7)

Chapter 7 – Beast

Waking up to the sound of Brenna vomiting was not what I was expecting.  I was expecting to roll over and take her again before I had to go to the clubhouse.

Rolling out of bed, I threw my jeans on, not bothering to do them up, and walked into the bathroom.  “You okay Baby Girl?  You need me to do anything?”  I crouched down beside her and started rubbing her back.  I wasn’t used to taking care of anyone, but something about Brenna pushed me to want to take care of her.

“Yeah, no I’m okay.  Just give me a few minutes.”

I sat on the ground beside her, continuing to rub her back while she knelt in front of the toilet.

“You getting the flu or something?”

“Or something.”

With that cryptic comment she got up and rinsed her mouth out with water before walking into the bedroom and getting dressed.  “What do you mean, or something?  You got something wrong with you?”

I was inexplicably worried.  I barely knew this woman, but the thought of her being sick scared the shit out of me, and there’s not a lot in this world that scared me.

“Let’s go into the kitchen and I’ll make us some breakfast and we can talk.”

I was anxious to know what was going on, but she looks so nervous that I didn’t want to demand anything from her.

I followed her into the kitchen and she got busy throwing some bread in the toaster and then started digging around in the fridge.  “Are eggs and bacon okay for you?”

“Bren, why don’t you sit down and I’ll make us breakfast.  You look like you’re about to freak the hell out.”

“Yeah, that would be great.  Thanks.  You’re right, I’m freaking out a little.”

She grabbed a bottle of water and sat at the table.  Letting her get her thoughts together, I went into the fridge and grabbed some eggs, bacon and butter.  “How do you want your eggs?”

“Oh God, no eggs please.  I’ll just have some butter on my toast.”

As she said that the toast popped.  “The plates are in the second top cupboard from the sink, on the left.”

I reached in and grabbed her a small plate, putting the toast on it, and searching around for a knife so I could butter it.

I put the toast in front of her so that she could start on it and then started getting my own breakfast ready.

By the time I sat down at the kitchen table she had barely made it through half a piece of toast.  I put my fork beside my plate and just looked at her.  She was beautiful, but she looked tired.  “Okay Baby Girl, what’s going on?  You’re scaring me here.”

Taking a deep breath, she looked up at me and changed my life forever.  “I’m pregnant and it’s yours.”

I suddenly stood up and pushed my chair back.  I paced back and forth in the kitchen, running my hands through my hair and trying not to have a panic attack.  I stopped and turned to look at her.  She looked so small and scared it took the air right out of my sails.

I sat back down at the table and took her hands into mine.  “Okay, are you sure?  Shit, what am I saying, of course you’re sure.  So, what do you want to do?”

“So you believe me when I say it’s yours?”

“Of course I believe you.  It’s not something you would lie to me about.”

“Okay, well I went to see my doctor and she did an ultrasound.  Everything seems to be going well.  I go back in a two months for another ultrasound to see how the baby is progressing.”

“Okay, let me know when the appointment is and I’ll be there with you.”

I could tell by the look on her face that she was relieved that I believed her and was in this with her.  I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I was starting to get feelings for her and even if I wasn’t I would never abandon a child of mine.

“So, you said the doctor was saying everything was going well.  Are you okay to still work?  What do you need me to do?”

Brenna got a smile on her face and started laughing.  “Oh Beast, you don’t know what a relief it is to me that you are okay with this.  Telling you was stressing me out.  I didn’t know how you were going to take it.  We barely know each other.  Yes, I’m perfectly fine to work.  I can work until I can’t handle being on my feet anymore and that will be months away.”

“Okay, all right then.  I’m at a loss here Bren.  I don’t know what to do with myself.  I’m still freaking out a little bit inside.”

She grabbed my hand and pulled me back to the table.  I sat down beside her and she cradled my face between her hands.  “Beast,”

“Grayson.”

“Pardon?”

“Well, since you’re carrying my baby and are going to be a big part of my life and future I think you should call me by my first name, Grayson.”

She leaned forward and pecked me on the lips.  “Okay, Grayson.  It’s okay to still be freaking out.  I’ve known for a week and I’m still freaking out sometimes too.  Now I have to tell Ev and my parents and that’s going to be a whole new stress.”

“I’ll be there with you when you tell your parents if you want.”  I wanted to help my woman through anything that made her anxious.  Holy shit, I just thought of her as my woman.  That’s a thought for another day.

“Thanks Grayson I would really appreciate it if you would come with me to tell my parents.  I think I’ll text Ev and see if she can come over for a girls’ night tonight and I’ll tell her then.”

“Okay babe, let me know when you want to go tell your parents and I’ll come get you and we can go together.”
