Chapter 10: Harbor

A day ago if anyone would have told me that I’d be crushing hard on Dr. Evan Black, I would have told them they were crazy. But as I watched him sleep next to me, his strong arms wrapped around my waist, holding me close, that was the only description for how I felt.

Of all the times I’d considered how I would lose my virginity, I never thought it would be with a man nearly twice my age or a sexy doctor like Evan. I got out of bed and went to my own room, slamming the door a bit too hard on the way. He kissed my forehead, but then stepped away. “We’ll have to control ourselves in public. All we’d need is for someone to talk and we’d both be in a heap of trouble.”

“But we’re both adults, and it’s not like you’re my professor or anything.”

“Actually, I’m not supposed to be fraternizing with interns because we’re both representing the hospital. Better safe than sorry. You never know who has it out for me or you for that matter.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at that suggestion. “No one has it out for me.” The very idea of that was the most ridiculous thing I’d ever heard.

He led me to the car and opened my door before walking around to his. I slid into the seat, and after a moment he was beside me behind the wheel. “We can’t be too careful. Besides, we’ll have plenty of time later to be close.” He gave me a wink that brought a smile to my face.

“Fine.” I let out a long breath as he started the car and backed out of the space.

“Again with that pouting. You’re going to have to learn to trust me.” He put his hand on my knee. “You think I’m being hard on you, but if you’d let that desire build a little bit, it will be all that much more intense later.”

“But I’m already so horny I can’t stand it, and you told me you’d take care of me.” I leaned closer and put my hand on his thigh and rubbed small circles as I inched toward his cock.

“Well, maybe you’ll see your girlfriend. I’m sure she’s still hoping you’ll take her back to your place for some hot sex.” If he was going to tease I was going to give it right back to him.

“Careful or I will.” His eyes met mine directly and my smile faded. His brows rose as if he was considering how much I’d like that.

“It’s not like we’re a couple, I suppose you could do whatever you want and I could as well. Maybe one of those other doctors would like to take me back to their place. As sexed up as I am I’m sure I could let them teach me a thing or two.”

Suddenly he whipped over to the shoulder and slammed the brakes causing my head to bounce off the headrest. “Are you finished?” His eyes bore into mine. I didn’t say a word as he glared at me. “No one is going to have you but me. Are we clear?” I nodded quickly. We continued to the event center, and before we got out of the car, he reached over and placed his hand on my knee. “Remember to let that ache build for me. My heart dropped. Not only did I have to face those men again, but I’d have to talk to them.
