I refreshed my grades again, but still nothing. I know I just finished my last exam, but my Monday and Tuesday grades should already be up.

I got off the bus and headed home. I got out a little early today since I finished my exam before anyone else, so now I can finally think about my vacation. I still have to pack, but I have about two hours before we have to leave for the airport. I should be fine; plus, I made a list of everything I need to bring.

“I’m home,” I addressed Cedric since he was the only one home at two in the afternoon. I took of my shoes and started to unbutton my jacket.

“Finally,” Cedric walked out of his room. “We have to leave in an hour.”

“What?” I looked over at Cedric who was already dressed, packed and ready to leave.

“Aren’t we leaving at four?”

“Well, we need to leave earlier because I don't want to catch traffic and I don't know how long the lines are at security.”

“Shit. Omg. I still have to pack!”

“You didn’t pack?” Cedric’s jaw dropped.

“I was too busy with midterms,” I ran into my room still wearing my jacket. I grabbed my list and went to the bathroom to grab the essentials.

“Do you need any help?” Cedric watched me as I started to pull some clothes from my closet while checking off my list.

I nodded, admitting I needed his help before the stress took over me, “Can you go into the garage and grab me the blue suitcase?”

Cedric headed toward the garage, and then came back with my room with a large suitcase.

“Yeah. This is big. We’re going to have to check this in.”

“I don't have a small one.”

“That’s fine,” Cedric unzipped the suitcase and brought it over my bed. I placed five different outfits and two pairs of pajamas inside. It was already taking up a lot of space.

“Do you plan to move in with me?” Cedric’s laugh covered my room.

I started to blush thinking about how great that would be.

“I have never packed for a vacation before. I don't really know what I need.”

“I’m teasing you,” Cedric picked up one of my outfits, a flowy sundress and smirked at me. “I can’t wait to see you wear this. It’s easy access,” his deep voice rippled through my body.

“We don’t have time for that,” I grabbed the dress out of his hand and shoved it back in the suitcase.

Cedric chuckled, “Okay. Okay. So what else do you need?”

“Can you pack my backpack?” I ripped the bottom list that was all my tech things.

“So, what did you do today?”

“No—,” he looked over at me and brought over my backpack, “— because of Cassie.”

I got quiet as I thought of the blond woman he had brought to the restaurant I worked at. I felt jealousy flare, but I had to push it away.

“What happened?” I went over to my closet to grab my bathing suit and underwear.

“She bitched at me again, but this time she used some excellent words like asshole, man whore, scumbag, pervert, tramp, slut and oh-my personal favorite. Gold digger.”

“So, were any of those words directed toward me?” I chuckled. I knew the answer was yes because she was pretty pissed off at me at the restaurant.

Cedric pressed his lips together and nodded, “Don't worry about it.” Cedric gave me a hug from behind, making sure I knew that he cared enough to stand up for me. Honestly, it didn't bother me, my so-called-mother has called me worse.

It was Kendall calling.

“Hey, you ready?”

“Hmm . . .” I pushed down at my messy suitcase that had everything on the list, “Yeah.”

“Good, I’ll be there in 10 minutes. I’ll pay for the cab to the airport, I might as well pay for something on this trip.”

“Okay,” I heard the call end.

“Kendall?” Cedric questioned.

“Yeah, he is going to be here in ten minutes with a taxi.”

I looked over to Cedric who had cooled down from his temptation.

“Can you do me a favor?” I grunted as I tried to close my suitcase.

“Sure, what is it?”

“Can you treat Kendall like an adult? I think this trip will —”

“Yeah. I might have been a little bit of a . . . dick,” Cedric scratched his scuff. “I’ll make it up to him.”

I pushed my hair behind my ear and smiled at Cedric. He got up from the chair and walked over to me.

“Here, let me try,” Cedric pushed down on my overflowing suitcase and closed it in one try.
