Two weeks later

The melancholy that had plagued Alec for the past week continued to linger. All throughout the Tinder chat session he had initiated and the subsequent face-to-face date he had insisted upon, he hadn’t been able to shake the hollowness inside. Maybe this wasn’t the best idea, but he’d been desperate to get out from under all the unhappiness that had weighed heavily on him. Alec had never felt so…out of place, so alone. He had to get past it. This date should’ve helped.

It hadn’t. The guy, Bill, had fit every one of his requirements for a good time. Young, single, nice-looking, and enjoyed the same things Alec did. Bill was well traveled and well educated. A neurologist. An activist. He’d started his career with Doctors Without Borders. Now at thirty-seven, he’d returned stateside, wanting to find the right person to settle down with. All things Alec wanted too. Moreover, Bill had smoldering good looks with dark, devilish, piercing eyes. Alec had always liked a gaze that pinned you in your place. This guy had it, but something else was missing.

Alec rubbed his forehead which transitioned to a full down-his-face hand scrub as he waited for his gate to open. It was ten forty-five at night. The way he’d abruptly ended the date might negate the likelihood of ever seeing Bill again. He had claimed digestive issues. Alec cringed. How could he have ever said those words aloud to a physician of all people? Such a dumb move.

He drove the length of his driveway, his headlights lighting his way, as lightning streaked across the sky to illuminate the surrounding area. A hard clap of thunder followed, its intensity shaking his sports car. That was one thing Texas did better than anywhere else he’d ever lived—they had violent, brilliant thunderstorms down to a science. He needed one of those tonight, as a symbol of his tortured soul. Nineteen days had passed since he’d had the best sex of his life. Nineteen days of longing, suffering, and wanting more.

As he rolled forward toward the garage, another streak of lightning zapped across the sky, illuminating the motorcycle sitting to the edge of his driveway. His heart stuttered as he pressed the brakes, staring at the shiny black bike as every possible emotion shot through him simultaneously. For maybe as long as thirty seconds, Alec stared disbelievingly at the bike, sitting alone, devoid of a driver. It was the same bike Key had been on the night they’d met. Alec scanned his surroundings, searching for Key, when he caught the silhouette of the man sitting at a small patio table just off his kitchen.

His thoughts came together with a crash to rival the thunder ricocheting through the air. The single-minded focus he’d had for the last two and a half weeks narrowed in on exactly what he wanted, even as he warned himself to calm down and proceed with extreme caution.

A large droplet of rain hit the windshield, drawing Alec’s attention back to the car. He pulled forward into the garage and parked. Alec continued to sit there, staring out the window even as the lights switched off. Excitement and apprehension ran through him, setting the butterflies to flight in his stomach. He wanted Key there so badly that his hands were actually shaking. He clenched his fists to stop the trembling. Yes, his desire couldn’t be denied, but he also couldn’t go through another few weeks like the last few weeks.

Should he try to pin Key down? Alec’s head hit the steering wheel. He desperately wanted to take whatever Key offered and be happy with that. What the hell was wrong with him wanting all this commitment ironed out? Sex anytime was good. Except, for some unknown reason, his brain kept short-circuiting when it came to the biker. He wasn’t sure how to process all the feelings coursing through him.

Alec shoved open his door, stepped out of the garage, toward the covered back porch, dodging the rainfall as best he could. Key didn’t move as Alec approached. Another flash lit the stormy sky, revealing the handsome figure watching him. Key shifted uncomfortably. Alec stopped maybe as much as four feet in front of him.

God, the guy was intimidating but extraordinary in every way. Alec knew firsthand how well those muscles worked together. The way Key moved like a fluid, predatory animal excited Alec in all the best ways. And God, his scent…like leather and a sudden summer storm. Temptation mixed with dark spices in the cologne he wore.

Not the point, Pierce.

Totally the point, dumbass.

No. Alec forced himself to head toward the kitchen door. He unlocked the deadbolt and opened the door before turning back. Alec didn’t say a word. He didn’t trust himself to stay on task with how badly he desired Key. He absolutely wanted Key tonight—no question there. He’d want Key any night, but his feelings were hurt and that had to be resolved or he’d find himself continuing to pine for a man who didn’t really want him.

Alec stepped inside, tossed his keys on the kitchen island, and kept the lights off. The small lamp on the counter was enough to guide his way. He went for a glass in the cupboard, something to occupy him. Another minute passed before Key found his way inside. Alec grabbed a second glass, but left it sitting on the counter for Key. Kind of a dick move. He should offer Key a drink, but he didn’t. Instead, he walked to the bar and poured himself a hearty glass of Grey Goose.

The liquor burned as it slid down his throat. He appreciated the small distraction as he turned back toward the doorway. Key stood about two feet from the back door, watching him. So different from the first time they’d entered this house. By now, Alec had already been pushed against the wall, Key’s fingers and mouth preparing him for the best fuck of his life.

His dick grew hard.

Correction…harder.

Alec held his ground, and for the first time in his life, all his communication training failed him. Key wouldn’t speak first, but something silenced Alec’s words too. After a while of staring at one another, Alec finally found his voice.

“Why are you here?” he asked.

Key just stared at him. Of course, he would. Alec already knew so much about this man’s mannerisms. He let out a pent-up breath and turned back to the bar, pouring another double.

With his back still to Key, he started another way. “You’re here for sex. That’s fine. But I expected to hear from you last time.” Definitely an understatement, but still true.

The shadows moving across his living room, rather than any noise made, told him Key drew closer.

“Why didn’t you call?” Alec closed his eyes and lowered his head. His voice sounded needy even to him. Now he knew the effort he’d made to squash all this hurt that filled his heart.

“I…”

“I need more than that, Key.” Alec turned to see Key’s shoulders drop. “Alexa, turn on the living room lamps.” The soft glow revealed the insecurity in Key’s gaze. That confused Alec. He’d expected to see arrogance, detachment, lust, even anger. Not…self-doubt. “I’ve been nothing but forthcoming and honest with you… For full disclosure, I was into you when you left last time. I waited for your call. When you didn’t… Well, I…”

Key nodded.

What did that mean? Ready to throw caution to the wind, Alec made himself continue. “I need an explanation. It won’t change things tonight. We can fuck, if that’s all you came for. I just need to understand how I monumentally misread what was going on between us last time.”

Key started to speak. Nothing came out. He cleared his throat and stared Alec straight in the eye as he said, “You didn’t misread anything.”

Alec nodded calmly, but chaos erupted inside him. What did that mean?

“Please,” Alec muttered.

Key came toward him, and Alec held out a hand, stopping this beautiful man inches from his palm. It would be so easy to extend his fingers and touch Key’s chest.

“All the weird unexplained feelings I’ve heard from my friends in new relationships, I experienced with you. I get we’re not in a relationship. I understand this is terrible timing. I’m not asking for a commitment—we can’t escape our worlds right now, but a phone call shouldn’t have been too much to hope for.”

“You’re a lawyer. My club’s all I got…” Key stopped speaking and looked away, frustration flashing on his handsome face. “That’s not it.” The anger that Alec had seen in the news footage was back on Key’s face. It gave Alec a moment of pause, silencing him as a trickle of awareness wormed its way past the intense attraction he experienced. “I freaked because it’s like I’m so much… I don’t know, like I’m less than you. I wanted you from the first night I saw you, but second-guessin’ myself stops me until I can’t take it anymore.”

The whiplash of all these emotions held Alec’s tongue and made him hesitate. Attraction, fear, now confusion mixed with the need to comfort Key made Alec unsure how to move past everything. But then Key took charge, taking the decision from him. He grabbed Alec’s hand in his, tenderly holding him as he stepped forward. Key stole Alec’s glass, drinking down the straight vodka in one long gulp then placed the palm of Alec’s hand over Key’s heart. Alec could feel the strong thumping while Key threaded their fingers together, keeping his palm pressed there.

“I tried to stay away. I swear to God I did. Tell me to get lost. We both know it’d be for the best.”

“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do that. How long have you been here?” Alec asked, taking in his fill of Key standing inside his living room, where he should have been every damn day for the last three weeks.

“Since about six thirty.” Key had waited for him for hours. Alec stepped into the man, chest to chest, not quite touching, but he could feel Key’s body heat. Key’s broad chest heaved with each breath as his gaze bored into Alec’s. The heavy burden Key seemed to carry lifted with each truthful confession he gave. “I’ve been a wreck.”

“Me too.” Alec tilted his chin, and Key met him halfway. Before their mouths met, Alec turned away. Desperation, maybe the fear of consequences, kept him at a distance. More than ever, he wanted a repeat of the spiritual awakening that seemed just beyond his grasp. “I want this to continue. You have to call me or make contact next time.”

Key nodded solemnly. “You can call me too.”

Key’s hand slid into Alec’s hair, drawing the man back to his lips. The intensity of the kiss slammed into him. He’d been surprised at how much he’d truly missed this man. Missed his scent, his firm calming touch, those eager lips.

From the first press of Key’s mouth to his, he felt it: the connection, the hold Key’s heart held on his. He’d been stupid to think going on a date would get this man out of his system. Yeah, he’d been so wrong.

Alec didn’t say a word as he broke from the kiss, took Key’s hand, and led him to the bedroom.

They leisurely explored and touched each other as they removed their clothing, leaving it in a pile on the bedroom floor. He released the band holding Key’s hair, letting it cascade around his shoulders. God, he loved all that hair. He’d never thought much about hair before, but it sure had an effect on him now.

Alec pushed his fingers through the silky strands and leaned in to place kisses over the inked art on his lover’s skin. He took his time and kissed as many of those beautiful tattoos as he could. Damn, he loved ink—again, he’d never paid attention before, but now…holy fucking hell.

As he kissed his way along Key’s neck, the coarse hair of his beard rubbed against Alec’s jaw. He lingered at the corner of Key’s mouth before taking his lips in a heated exchange of give and take. Their teeth clashed, and their tongues searched the other’s mouth. They both moaned as the kiss built into something wild and frenzied.

Alec broke from the kiss to grab the lube and condoms out of the nightstand and placed them within easy reach.

“I missed you in my bed.” He turned back to Key and lowered himself to the bed, pulling the gorgeous biker down with him. Key’s mouth chased his as he pushed himself to the middle of the mattress. Key closed the distance, his breath dancing along Alec’s lips briefly before his tongue dipped inside to explore every inch of his mouth. Alec submitted, spreading his legs and tilting his hips up against Key’s. That hard cock slid against his, leaving a wet trail along his skin as the man’s warmth and weight pressed him into the mattress.

Key’s groan vibrated in the kiss and curled around his balls as they ground together. So damn good. Hot, raunchy, and exactly what he’d needed.

His lover broke from the kiss and rose to his knees. Key’s strong hand flattened against his stomach as he inched those big thighs partially under him, lifting his hips. The back of his thighs and ass rested partially on Key, allowing Alec to place his feet on the bed.

Thunder rumbled outside as Key leaned across his leg and stomach and swiped the lube and condoms off the nightstand. Key laid the condoms next to Alec’s thigh and made a show of opening the lube as he adjusted his position, that sexy smirk playing on his lips, taunting him.

“Stop with the damn show and just fuck me,” Alec hissed, pushing at Key’s arm.

“Quit being so impatient. You know how this works.” Key winked then squirted lube on his fingers, still taking his time. He looked pretty damned pleased with himself as he lowered his hand and pushed the cold gel against Alec’s hole. Alec immediately clenched at the pressure, resisting yet needing. He slid his eyes shut as Key pushed another finger in his ass and moved them.

The bed shifted as warm wet heat enveloped him. Key’s tongue teased the head of his cock, then traced a lazy trail up and down along his shaft. The need to fuck into that tempting mouth made his muscles burn with expectation. He curled his fingers into Key’s hair and forced himself to hold off, to allow Key to take charge.

The enticing heat and the mind-blowing suction of Key’s mouth had him teetering on the edge of insanity. He needed more. He needed this man in him, to be filled by him. Key continued sucking and readying him, those insistent fingers stretching him wide. Fuck if he didn’t love the way Key stretched him, dragging it out, teasing him, bringing him to the edge, then denying him.

That mouth, that fucking tongue, shouldn’t be legal. He couldn’t stop the movement of his hips no matter how hard he tried. He opened his eyes to beg, but what he saw made him whimper instead. Key’s eyes reflected raw hunger. Alec was close to coming unglued, and that predatory look sent a jolt of electricity through him.

“Want you… Waited too long.” Alec’s words came out husky and needy, bordering on desperation.

“I’ve got you. I just want to make it good for you,” Key said as he withdrew his fingers. The possessive caress of Key’s touch set his skin ablaze. The silky tickle of all that hair he’d freed left goose pimples along his skin as Key placed openmouthed kisses across his stomach and up his ribs. Every flick of that tongue, every nip on his flesh radiated through him.

Key’s mouth on his nipple, the sting of his bite, and the thick soothing warmth of his tongue felt so good. Alec’s cock leaked and his ass clenched and he squirmed for more of Key’s touch.

Key shifted, his cock now pressed along Alec’s ass as he changed their position and covered him with that big firm frame. Key fit so perfectly between his legs, the weight so right. He lifted his hips and ground his dick against Key, eyes rolling back in his head from the welcome friction heightening his arousal—cocks sliding roughly against each other, the sticky wetness of their precome slicking their skin. The wind picked up outside the window, whistling through the trees, and raindrops pelted the glass as they moved against each other.

Key suddenly sat back and reached for the condoms. Watching Key roll the condom down that thick cock, Alec worked himself, not caring how wanton he looked as he waited for Key to hurry and fuck him. Key moved back over him and smiled. Their eyes locked, and Alec’s world tipped sideways as the heat of Key’s arousal slid across his hole.

Those intense eyes never left his as the head of Key’s cock pushed against his opening. Gratifying pressure took his breath as Key slowly entered him. The sweet burn of his intrusion sizzled through every nerve ending along his channel. The heat in his cyan-blue eyes burned into him like a branding iron. His toes curled at the intensity of their union. They both groaned when Key pressed in, swift and deep, and took his mouth in a slow hungry kiss.

Kissing him tenderly and thoroughly, Key stroked his tongue against Alec’s as he deepened the kiss and dominated him. Key moved against him, teeth nipping, tongue moving in a sensual dance. Key gripped his hips so tightly Alec couldn’t wait to see the bruises marking his skin.

When Key withdrew, Alec’s breath caught, but just when he thought Key was going to break their contact, the naughty biker sank back into his body, forcing Alec’s breath out in the form of a needy moan. His ass clenched around Key’s length, causing the man’s thrusts to falter, and Alec’s body to ignite.

He tried to ease his hips higher, opening his body even more for Key. Every thrust slid along his channel, brushing against his prostate, sending him closer and closer to the point of no return. Pleasure consumed him, burned through him, and made him greedy for more.

Key’s hair slid down around his shoulders as he sat up and pressed Alec’s legs back to lock him in place. Those motherfucking tattoos danced with every flex of those bulging muscles as he drove into him harder, deeper, and with complete control.

Somehow Key knew exactly what he needed, what he craved the most. The man was so sexy, his hips gyrating like some exotic dancer. The cords strained in his neck with every thrust. The heated concentration focused only on him and the rightness of their bodies moving together. This was exactly what he’d missed—the connection he felt with this man when they were together. The powerful feeling was so fucking new, but he would be willing to do anything to ensure they had the chance.

Every thrust of Key’s hips drove the air from his lungs. He tried to hold on, grabbing for Key’s shoulders, his fingers slipping in all that hair as he fought for control. Heavy pants, mumbled words, and the carnal sound of flesh on flesh filled the room. Key’s rough palm slid up and down his shaft with just the right pressure.

The intensity in Key’s gaze bored into him as if he demanded entrance not only to his body but his soul. Alec wrapped his fingers in all that hair and used it to pull Key’s mouth down to his. They both moaned the moment their mouths met. Kissing Key, just like this, exactly like this, could easily become his favorite addiction. Alec broke from the kiss to gasp for air. His lungs burned, and his body hummed with pleasure. He was so close, and Key’s strokes were relentless, pushing him toward the abyss.

“Come for me,” Key commanded and continued to sink into his body with hard deep thrusts. That cock moved so deliciously in him that Alec was helpless to do anything but surrender to the growing pleasure.

“Oh fuck…yes.” He panted, body on fire like someone had injected liquid oxygen into his muscles and then lit the match, the combustion incinerating him from the inside out. His ass clenched and all his muscles seized, refusing to do anything but contract under the onslaught of pleasure. Darkness skirted the edges of his vision as his release slammed through him, engulfing him in complete ecstasy. Key’s hand on his cock stilled as he thrust into him one last time before shouting his release.

Thunder shook the house again as Key collapsed on top of him. Alec pressed his lips to the vein pulsing in Key’s neck, not ready to release him from his arms as they recovered and their hearts slowed to a steadier beat. He held Key until the sweat on their skin cooled and still wouldn’t let him go.
