I want her
Landon (POV)
Davina is under my skin. I’m not sure why she’s living as a rogue, but I can’t leave her to the humans, what if someone finds out about her secret?
The fact that she’s told me no and shown such…aggression towards me only means she has not been shown, love. The good parts about being a shifter and falling under the protection of the pride. Davina also is beautiful her eyes are charcoal with a hint of gray, her body is average with a sexiness that appeals to me.
I thought about letting her come to me on her own, but even I know if she’s not used to obeying the king of the wild then she will not start tonight. I follow her to this nice house off the street. When I arrive, I peek through the window and see an older human female sleeping in the chair. I decide to let myself in and follow Davina’s scent to her room.
When she opens the door, she looks pissed and nervous.
“I figured you may need to be accompanied to my room. I don’t want that pretty head to get any ideas of running.”
“You are not taking me with you, so go, Landon King.” She growls.
I step closer forcing her to take a step back. When I’m fully in her room, I swing my foot behind me to close the door.
The way she stands up to me gives me a hard on like never before.
“I’m taking you with me Davina, and if you try to fight me on this, you will lose, besides you have only to gain.”
“Why? You don’t know me and no one has to know that you even saw me.” She pleads.
I look at her sad eyes and feel sad that Davina doesn’t even trust her own people.
“You don’t have to be afraid, and I promise when we get to my land, no one and I do mean no one will dare to make you feel unsafe.”
She licks her lips and cuts her eyes at me, then shrugs. It’s the sexiest thing I’ve seen in a long time.
“I see I’m not getting out of this, so tell me where is this pride of yours.”
“It’s only a couple days of driving and then half of a day on foot.”
“Damn it, Landon, this secret place is far.”
“I’ll be with you every step of the way, lovely Davina.”
My hand softly rubs her cheek, and to my surprise, she closes her eyes accepting the affection. Even with her eyes closed, she looks like sleeping beauty. This journey will be interesting if nothing else.

The next day Davina and I are riding in my fancy car. I plan on trying to get to my people fast. As much as I adore spending time with Davina this trip would not be taking place if the elders didn’t think my absence meant they could rule.
She’s quiet in the car, looking out the window. I watch from my peripheral vision. Even though it’s silent, I can feel the heat between us and I can’t deny that I want her.
“Davina tell me about you?”
I ask, hoping to engage her in conversation. I need something to distract me from her beautiful legs. The cutoff shorts she’s wearing makes it difficult to concentrate.
“There’s nothing to tell besides, you kidnapped me you should tell me more about you.” She says, never looking my way.
Groaning at the fact that she counters on everything I ask or say, is something I’m not used to.
“Well you know my name, but I’ll tell you a little more if you promise to talk with me.”
She finally turns and looks at me, and that’s what I wanted her eyes upon me; not out the window, but looking at me. I take her look as a yes and start talking.
“I’m the owner of many different businesses, but mainly I run my pride. Everyone has a role to play, and every role is important. Our community is built on love and trust.”
She looks at me and nods and then speaks.
“Why are you going home? I mean it seems like you are anxious to get home.”
I don’t want her to know I’m going to settle the dispute of me taking a mate. I’ll take a mate on my terms when I want, but not under the order of someone else. I’m the ruler.
“I have to go home to check on my people sometimes. I use my funds to keep our lands safe from construction and hunters.”
“So after you finish your business, we will leave, and we can go back to the city?”
I frown as I’m sure I never told Davina anything about her returning with me. Once I have ensured she’s a member of my pride I need to leave, but she will remain among our people. So, she can grow into the great lioness I know she can be.
“Let’s take it slow, you may love being around the others, shifters like you. That means no hiding, shifting at your leisure. You’re going to love it.”
She turns and looks out the window.
“You talk as though it’s the best place for our kind, yet you live in the city far away.”
“This is true, but I’m the main source of income for my people, and I’m the ruler.”
I didn’t want to sound cruel, but at the end of the day I make the decisions and being questioned about my rulings is something I can’t get used to.
The first day of the car ride after this conversation we listen to music and eat in silence.

The next day in the car with Davina is becoming unbearable. My shaft remaining hard is causing me discomfort. If Davina were a part of my pride she would know I need to be pleasured, she would feel the desire to. Every time I look over at her she’s biting her nails and squeezing her legs together, maybe she’s not immune to the sexual draw we have on each other.
We stop a few times, but I knew we were getting close to where we would walk to the community. Davina will be shocked at how modern the community is developed. I’m proud to say, my shifters live good as humans and pride members.
When we arrive in the garage car port. I step out of the car and give my legs a stretch. Davina is still sitting in the car. I start pulling our bags out of the trunk and watch as she’s looking around. I know this is unfamiliar to her, but I plan on making sure she’s comfortable.
Davina steps out of the car , and I can see the fear in her eyes. I drop the bags and walk over to her, pulling her into a tight embrace.
“Do not be afraid, I told you, that I will never let anything happen to you.”
As we are hugging tightly, I can’t help putting my nose on the top of her head smelling her deeply. My body reacts, and this time I know, she can feel how much I want her.
She pulls away slightly, and before she could even think if she would want to, I lean in and start kissing her. She doesn’t push me away, and soon I feel her hands on my arms holding me tightly. Gently pushing my tongue forward she welcomes me, and it’s what I’ve needed this entire time. I deepen the kiss and capture her moans with my mouth not allowing anything to escape.
When I feel her pull away from me, I slow the kiss and pull away looking at her response.
“This is a bad idea Landon; you don’t know me and I…don’t think it’s a good idea.”
“Fair enough Davina Golden, let’s get to the community I need a shower for more than one reason.”
She blushes, and it’s the response I want. I lift her bags and pick mine up over my shoulder, and we start walking to my land. The pride will have another member very soon.
