Played or Stolen: The billionaire's game by Cara Hunt (11)

Epilogue

“Thanks for bringing me my coffee.” Liam said as he sat  behind his desk when Emma walked into his office, she balanced two cups of the usual Columbian blend in her hands, just as she did every morning.

“I’m surprised you still thank me. I’ve been doing this for almost a year now.” Emma laughed, and sat down to take a sip.

“I still want you to feel appreciated. Besides, if I don’t keep you happy, you might just leave and find some other company to work for and then I’ll be lost without you.”

Emma laughed at his words, and rolled her eyes. “Please. You act like this isn’t the best job I’ve ever had.” She winked at him, a grin on her lips.

Liam chuckled. “Hey. Are you really going to complain about me trying to keep my girl happy?” He smiled before he got up and walked over to her, to sit down on the chair’s armrest. He leaned down, to peer into her beautiful blue eyes. “Speaking of which, I have a surprise for you.”

“Oh?” Emma raised an eyebrow in question.

“Yeah. Things with the company have been going fantastic recently. Profits are up and we have expanded into several new countries.”

“Did Portugal and Spain accept our proposals then?” Emma got up. Liam slid from the armrest and into the chair before Emma sat down on his lap. His arms wrapped around her slender waist as his lips traveled along her neck, they left a trail of kisses along her skin.

“Don’t ruin the surprise.” He murmured, as he grabbed her hands and played with her fingers.

Immediately, she turned around, to stare at him. “So they did accept! That’s great news! Did the port cities agree to run the new vessels?”

Liam laughed. “How am I supposed to surprise you if you keep taking the words out of my mouth?” He shook his head before he tapped her nose. “Sometimes, you’re too smart. I feel like you might swindle this business out from under my nose if I’m not careful.”

“I’d never want to run this business without you… You’re the only thing that makes coming to work worthwhile.” Emma leaned forward, to kiss his lips tenderly; her tongue gently ran along his bottom lip, as it asked for entrance into his mouth. Liam obediently parted his lips, as their tongues tangled together the instant they started their erotic dance.

They continued to make out for a while. Emma straddled Liam in the chair, her hands on his cheeks; she kept his face pinned to hers. It was like she was addicted to his kiss. Her ample bosom pressed against his chest as their hips ground together. Emma’s lungs burned for air.

Finally, she felt lightheaded enough to pull away, and smirked. “I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of kissing you…”

“Good. Because you’re about to spend a whole month with me.”

“Hmm?” Emma tilted her head in confusion. Even though they had started to date, they still lived in their own homes; they respected each other’s need for personal space. “What do you mean?”

“I mean…” Liam gently pushed his girlfriend off his lap and got up to open  the top drawer of his desk. Emma watched him with eager fascination, and moved toward the desk to get a better look. “Close your eyes.”

“But…”

“Close your eyes or no surprise.” He said firmly.

She pouted and closed her eyes. Countless possibilities ran through her mind, but she couldn’t  come close to guessing what it could be. “C’mon, quit stalling,” Emma called out; she itched to open her eyes and take a peek.

“Calm down. Patience is a virtue.”

Emma sighed, and tried to remain patient. She could hear him as he rummaged through his things. Finally, she heard his footsteps as they approached her. She straightened her posture and managed to keep her eyes closed with great will power.

Suddenly, she felt Liam place something in her hands. She grasped it tightly. It felt like an envelope. “Can I open my eyes now?”

“Go ahead, baby.”

Emma’s eyes opened wide and she looked down, her assumption was correct because what had been put into her hands was an envelope. “What’s this?”

“Open it.” Liam prompted, a grin on his face.

Emma tore through the seal and pulled out two plane tickets, her eyes widened even more. “Are… we… are you… really… taking me to… Portugal?”

“That’s your name on the ticket, isn’t it?”

“Why are you taking me? Who’s going to stay behind and take care of the company? When are we leaving? I can’t believe this is happening…” Emma blurted out.

“I’m taking you because I can’t even think of being separated from you for an entire month. Mr. Limerick is going to take care of everything while we’re gone. We leave tonight.” Liam answered all her questions with a calm expression.

Emma  hugged him tightly; she nearly tackled him to the ground. “I’ve never been out of the country before…” Emma admitted; her heart raced with the thought of travel.

“It’s a lot of fun and it’ll be even better with you by my side.” With that, Liam kissed the top of her head as Emma tried to picture what Portugal looked like. Soon, she would hop on a plane and find out…
