Spring's Destiny by Deausha Kristal (30)

Chapter 30

Moving, I stretch my legs out on the bed. I’ve never felt so good. Opening my eyes. I take in the room. I’m in my bedroom; it’s dark other than the fire in the fireplace. Sitting up, there’s no one in here I’m alone. Throwing the blankets back I slowly get up. Looking down I’m in a white cotton nightgown. Damn my head is fuzzy. Nothing a shower won’t help. Heading to the shower I turn the jets on. Letting my nightie fall to my feet I look into the mirror. I look perfectly fine in the front. Tears well up in my eyes knowing that my back must be a mess. Closing my eyes, I turn around slowly. Opening them, It, can’t believe what I’m seeing. There’s only faint scarring where my beautiful wings once were. Wiping my eyes, I fall to my knees. I let it all out. The tears flow freely, not just for my wings but for the men I have lost, for my late husband, for Nick. I scream and scream until nothing is left, but anger. I can deal better with rage.

Getting up, I get into the hot water. And let it work its magic. All the blood in my hair washes down the drain. Turning the water off, I grab a towel wrapping it around myself and another one for my hair. Wiping the fog of the mirror I do look better. I comb out my wet hair leaving it down. Opening the bedroom door, I’m still alone, there’s a tray of food next to the fireplace. Going to my closet, I grab a pair of jeans and a soft cotton flannel to wear. Getting dressed I head back to the fireplace. Turning a few lights on as I go. Sitting in the chair, I grab the steaming mug of coffee bringing it to my lips. It feels good warming me from the inside. Eating what’s on the plate, I sit back staring into the fire.

Playing back everything in my head, there was nothing that I could have done differently. I know that. It doesn’t make anything easier. I’ve made my mind up a few things. Jax keeps coming into my thoughts. It’s like I feel what he is, I know what he’s thinking. Getting up, I head downstairs, being as quiet as I can, it’s only five in the morning. The hallway is dark as I hit the stairs, I see a soft glow coming from the great room. At the bottom step, I know Andy is talking to Reggie and a few other guardians. They all look over when I walk into the room. Andy rushes over to me. Putting my hand up, he stops.

“I’m fine.” Looking at them, I head into the kitchen to get more coffee. Heading back into the great room, I go over and sit next to the fire. They don’t say anything. Just drink their coffee.

“I have a few questions.” I stammer.

“What’s it you want to know Spring?”

“I was hurt bad. I know. What I would like to know is why I don’t want blood bad right now?” Did I feed on you guys last night?” Looking at them a look of anger crosses Andy’s face, but he masks it quickly.

“No, we didn’t feed you Spring. Jax did his blood…” He doesn’t finish.

“His blood what Andy?”

“With how bad you were, you would have had to feed off all of us, and it still wouldn’t have healed you all the way.” He murmurs running his hands through his hair.

“Where is Jax?” No one wants to tell me. Looking around the room, the two guardians I don’t really know get up to leave.

“Stay” I growl. Andy’s eyes go wide.

“Answer my question, Reggie.”

“You almost drained him dry; he had to give you almost all his blood. He had to go to his land and heal Spring.” He gets up and hands me a letter. Running my hands over it.

“Who are you guys?” I look at the guardians.

“We are Michelle’s guardians my queen.” The tall one says. Holding in my anger, I have to take a few deep breaths.

“Is that so…”

“It is my Queen.”

“Why has he not graced us with his presence? “I growl.

“Spring…” Andy warns.

Standing up I’m more pissed than I ever have. “NO, Andy,” I shout. “Where is that fucking pussy at?” I yell staring at them. Our yelling brings in other guardians. My hair starts flying around my face. My power is ramping up. Reggie stands up with his hand on his sword. I know all hell’s about to break loose.

“You are young, new, my Queen. You don’t ever talk about my King that…” the taller one goes to say. Lifting my hand, I let my energy fly right at him. He flies back and crashing into the couch topping it over.

“This is MY house. YOU are my guest. Remember YOUR place! Andy stands to my right Sammy is close behind him. The other guardians are behind me. Reggie is a bit closer but laughing his fool head off.

The other guardian helps his friend up. With the back of his hand, he wipes the blood from his lips. Staring at me he doesn’t move, but there’s murder in his eyes. Grinning at him, I dare him to come at me. I’m done, and things are going to change.

“Spring?” Andy asks.

I walk over to the center of the room. Standing there I look at my feet, turning I look at the two guardians.

“You tell you…” I stop feeling someone come up behind me. He doesn’t know what personal space is. Fingers move my hair away from my neck like a gentle kiss.

“Why don’t you tell me yourself, my sexy mate.” Michelle purrs. Turning, I do the only thing I know to do.

I lay my hand on his chest.

“SPRING” Andy growls. Reggie is just laughing his fool head off again.
