Taken by Temptation: Rage Ryders MC by Liberty Parker (6)

Bristol

After a full day of shopping I am wiped out. My feet hurt and my back is aching, but I wouldn’t have changed this day for anything. We ate dinner at a Tex-Mex restaurant and it was great to sit and relax for a few minutes. The ride home is where things got interesting, meaning the interrogation of Ghost and myself starts.

“So,” Sky starts, “Bristol, anything to report on the relationship of you and Ghost?”

“What relationship?” I ask trying to avoid this conversation.

“Oh please, we all see the way ya’ll are with each other. The looks when you guys think no one else is watching. The secret talks you two have, plus the whole ‘you’re mine’ statement he made not too long ago.” She gives me the stink eye as she asks. “We’re not inept to those, Bristol. So, spill already what’s going on with you two?”

“Nothing…yet. We’re just talking and getting to know each other right now. There’s a lot that’s fucked up in my head that I need to straighten out.”

Kori speaks up, “You know there’s no getting away from him…right? Once these guys say the word ‘mine’ that’s all she wrote. There is no escaping that, no matter how much you try.”

“Can we calm down a second here? I’m not deciding anything until I figure out who I am without being controlled by my parents. I want a career and to explore things that I never dreamed I would be able to. I’m not saying I don’t want a relationship with Ghost, I just want to be able to take some time getting there.”

“Good luck,” Sky singsongs, as if she knows something I don’t. Not that it would surprise me, there seems to be a lot I don’t know that I’m discovering.

“We’ve got your back in whatever you decide,” Riley tells me.

“Sure, do babe,” Sadie says.

“Word of advice though,” Sky butts in, “Ghost is a really good guy and you’d be lucky to be with him. Let him help and guide you, he can help you find those things you feel are missing from your life. Hell, he’d probably be your biggest support system in finding yourself and what it is exactly you want in life.”

“I’ll keep that in mind,” I tell her, and I mean it. I can see him helping me grow as a person and finding my way. Now that we’ve been talking about it, I’m excited to explore more than just me, I’m deliriously excited to learn about what we could be too. “I’m not going to hold back from him anymore,” I announce, “I do like him—a lot, and I can’t wait to see if there actually can be an us.”

“Atta girl”, “Amen” and “Thank the lord,” I hear in unison which causes me to giggle out loud. I’ve never giggled before and it feels good. I want to do more of it so I do, I lose myself in my giggles and eventually after the girls look at me as if I’ve lost my mind, they join in. Hysteria seems to be extremely contagious. We laugh so hard at absolutely nothing that my stomach aches by the time my fit comes to an end.

By the time we make it back to the hotel, I’m ready for a shower and to crash. We all make our way towards our suite and pile into our rooms. Seems everybody has the same idea as I do. Time to call it a night. I take the fastest shower in history and then climb into my bed and pass clear out.

I wake up the next morning and check the time on my phone. I notice I have a missed text from Ghost but noticing the time I realize we only have an hour until check out time. I’ll have to reply to his message from the road. I get up and rush around to get dressed and make sure I have my bags from our shopping trip folded and packed in my suitcase. Then I get my make-up done, hair and teeth brushed, and I’m ready to join the ladies in the living room.

“Hey sleepy head, we were fixing to come check on you,” Riley tells me.

“I must have been really tired,” I yawn out.

“Busy day yesterday,” Kori says, “Let’s get the car loaded down then we can hit the diner in town on our way out.”

“Sounds like a plan to me.” We gather all of our luggage and purchases and load up the vehicle. Once all of our belongings and ourselves are loaded up I pull out my phone to check out Ghost’s text.

Ghost: 12:01 amThinkin of you, hope you had a good day with the girls.

I smile once I read his text and try to come up with something cutesy to respond with. Nothing coming to mind so I reply with a standard text message.

Me: 10: 59 amI had a fantastic time. The girls always make me feel part of the group. Can we talk when I get back? Xoxoxo

I get a simple text in return. Just like he is, simple but to the point.

Ghost: 11:02 am—I’ll be here.
