Savannah

She knew she’d charmed him, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. She’d charmed him, blown him away with her ideas for the paper, and gotten him pretty close to wasted.

“You’re giving me an A+ now, right?” Savannah asked.

Professor Holmes grinned. “Yes. You deserve it.”

“Good.” She slid to the edge of the booth and made sure her feet were steady beneath her before she stood. “Then I’d say tonight was a success.”

She still wobbled a little when she straightened, and then laughed because Professor Holmes stood right away to help her and he wasn’t any steadier than her.

“Are you leaving?” he asked.

“It’s late—ish. I have to work tomorrow.”

He wrapped his arm around her waist, surprising her. But she didn’t pull away.

“At least you don’t have to worry about your paper now. Where are you parked?”

She pointed. “Back lot.”

“I’ll walk you to your car.”

“It’s not necessary,” she said quickly, though she found she wanted that and more.

Professor Holmes had been a perfect gentleman tonight. Sure, there’d been the slight brushing of fingertips, and more than once he’d let his gaze slid to her lips. Or lower. But it wasn’t like she wasn’t doing the same thing.

Like Spence said, Professor Holmes was hot. And she had enough tequila in her now to want to say it. To want to do more.

“Let me,” he told her. “It’s dark. I’d feel better.”

She only nodded. When she reached the door and glanced back, she saw Spence make a gesture like he was jerking off, and she laughed.

“Something funny?” he asked.

She let him pull the door open for her. “Yes. This. This whole thing is funny.”

He gripped her elbow as they walked around the corner of the bar to the lot in back. “You’re going to explain, right?”

She reached into her purse for her keys. “This is funny because…Oops.”

Her purse spilled on the ground, her keys rolling out onto the pavement. She went for them the same time Professor Holmes did. His elbow hit her cheek and she gasped.

“Damn it.” Davin stood, hauled her to her feet and nudged her back so she was leaning against the door of her car. “You okay?”

She touched her cheek. “Yes.”

He narrowed his eyes, looking at it in the low glow of a streetlamp. He brushed his thumb over her skin, making her stomach quiver. “I hope that doesn’t bruise.”

“I’m tough. I’m sure it’ll be fine.”

“Tough.” He laughed. “Don’t I know it?” He pointed his finger at her. “Stay right there.”

She did as he said, not moving as he retrieved her keys and stood in front of her again.

“Thanks,” she breathed. The whole world was tilting around her, and it was all she could do to stay standing. “I can’t drive.”

“Me either.”

He stuffed the keys in her purse and then set his hands on either side of her, boxing her in against the car. “What are we going to do about that?”

“A…cab? Walk? Actually, I’m not too far.”

“I don’t want you to walk by yourself.”

“It’s…” She could imagine him walking her home, walking her into her tiny apartment, turning to her in the darkness…sliding his hand under her shirt… “I don’t know.”

“Tell me what you mean. Why this is so funny?”

“It’s funny because…” She tried to remember, and then it hit her. “It’s funny because I hate you. No—no, don’t look at me like that. I mean, I used to hate you.”

“And now?” he asked.

“I…” Why did it suddenly feel like there was glue in her mouth? Like she was twelve years old again and trying to tell Tommy Burns how cute he was. “I don’t hate you.”

His eyes dropped to her lips again, and this time she leaned in. He didn’t hesitate when she made the move, only captured her mouth with his. His body pressed her back against her car. She felt his cock against her hip and she groaned, her pussy throbbing.

“Professor—”

“Davin,” he murmured, lips running along her jaw. When she only blinked up at him, he met her eyes. “Say it.”

“Davin.”

His hands clenched on her hips, his long fingers sliding into the waistband of her jeans. “Fuck. I want you so bad.”

Her lips parted, and it was all she could to do stop herself from jumping into the back of the car right there and ripping off his pants. As it was, they were standing in the middle of a parking lot, hands all over each other.

She gripped his arms, surprised at how toned he was underneath his shirt. Underneath the cover of Professor. He was just a regular man, a man who was so hard against her hip, she didn’t know how he managed to keep from exploding.

His tongue massaged hers. He nipped her lip and she felt it right in her clit. God, she wanted his hands all over her. In her. And then she wanted to see him naked, wanting, before he plunged into her.

Davin’s hands slid across her stomach and up to her breasts, where she wore a lacy bra. One of her favorites. His thumbs brushed over her hard nipples, once, twice, and then pressed his cock into her harder.

“This…” She heard him swallow. “Damn it, Savannah. We’re in the middle of a parking lot.”

She exhaled, trying to get her mind to clear. The pulsing need in her body was making that difficult. “I know.”

He tipped his forehead against hers, and it only turned her on more that he was struggling not to lose it right there. “Your house—you said it was close by.”

She nodded. “It is.”

He backed up, letting air pass between them. She congratulated herself for not jumping him right there. “Let’s go there.”

Breathless, she answered, “Okay.”

“Now.”

She oriented herself, turning to the side of the parking lot. She spotted three guys she knew from school and they waved.

“Hey, Savannah! Party time. You should come. And bring your—oh, sorry. I didn’t recognize you.” The guy who’d waved at her laughed. “Professor Holmes? Hey.”

Davin pocketed his hands, pulling his pants away from his body. Savannah could still see his gigantic bulge, still see the barely restrained need in his eyes.

“Hey,” Davin answered. “No party for me tonight, thanks.”

They laughed again and continued to walk away. Once they were gone, Savannah shook her head. The space from Davin, coupled with the realization that she was a student, just like those guys who’d walked by, sobered her quickly.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “It was the tequila.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I shouldn’t have done that.”

His jaw clenched. “It wasn’t just you. It was me, too. I wanted you. Still do.”

Her heart raced out of control, but she forced herself to shake her head. She couldn’t do this—not after the tequila, not without thinking. He was a teacher!

“I’m sorry, Dav—I mean, Professor Holmes. I need to go.”

“I’ll walk you.”

She held out her hands. “Don’t. Please, just…don’t.”

He looked like he was going to argue, so she crossed her arms and walked by him. “See you in class on Monday.”
