Twist of Time: (Tulsa Immortals Book 7) The Ruby Queen Awakens by Audra Hart, Tulsa Immortals (11)

CHAPTER 10

~ Revelations ~

The next morning, the new triad is eating breakfast downstairs in the bar and engaging in some small talk when Callie falls silent and stares off into space.  Soon, Kazar realizes she’s gone back in time because her respirations and heart rate has dropped like it did when the prophet touched her.  He scoops Callie up into his arms and tells Nyle to fetch Blood and Morrígan.  Having said that, he flies upstairs, but some primal instinct demands he take her to the quarters he shares with Nyle when they are staying at the MC rather than the guest room she currently occupies.

As he lies his mate on the bed he shares with his other mate, he muses they might want to invest in a custom bed, as Nyle is a bed hog who takes up most of the California king they currently sleep upon.  But the sight of Callie there, and the heady perfume of her scent combining with Nyle’s and his own turns his thoughts to what he would like to do with his beautiful female on this bed.  He hasn’t felt the supple softness of a female under his hands and hard body for twenty years, and the prospect of him and Nyle working together to bring this reserved female to the heights of ecstasy has his cock hardening in his jeans.

Nyle picks that moment to arrive and quickly reads the situation.  He grins at his mate and says; “Aye, I cannot wait to have our girl’s sweet body between us.”  He chuckles.  “I get the feeling she doesn’t have a lot of experience with men.”

Kazar shakes his head in agreement.  “No, she doesn’t. She dated a boy her senior year in high school and gave him her virginity on prom night.”  His fists clench at his sides.  It’s easy to see that knowledge burned Kazar then, and still does.  “I wanted to kill the fucker for even laying a hand on her, but I felt I had no right to interfere in her life.”

The vampire turns his head and looks out the window to collect his thoughts and calm down.  “That boy was a decent enough kid.  They dated until he went away to college at Penn State and she stayed here to attend Oklahoma State.  He’s married now to an assistant DA, and has three kids.  Callie and he are still friends.”

“Hmmm, what did she study?”  Nyle is curious about the interests of his newest mate, but he’s also seeking a distraction from the thought of their female being with another male.  Any male.

“Ancient World History.”

The males fall silent for a long time, watching their inert female lying on their bed, each entertaining their own hopes and fears for their future with this female.  After a while, Nyle asks; “Was that her only experience?  I mean, with a man.”

Kazar shakes his head.  “She dated a pre-med student in college.  But I caught him cheating on her. I kicked his lying, conniving ass for him, and used my persuasion to convince him to break up with Callie.”  Kazar looks sad when he says; “After that, she was in that accident and coma for a week.  She never dated anyone more than once after that.  Six years ago, she stopped dating at all… as far as I know.”

He leans over and trails a reverent finger down the gaunt plains of her lovely face, and tries to not dwell on his fears for her wellbeing.  “I sat vigil in that hospital room the entire time she was back with me in Alexandria.  I just couldn’t leave her even though I was fairly certain she was coming back to… me.”  He shakes his head.  “Gods, time travel is confusing, is it not?  She was in my presence in two places, two times, centuries apart, at the same time. That’s fucking mind-blowing.”

The enamored Egyptian cups Callie’s face and leans down to place a tender kiss on her lips.  When he straightens up, he jams his hands in his pockets and admits; “I put the penny in her hand.  The night she was brought in to the hospital.  I posed as an ambulance driver, and folded her hand around that fucking penny when they put her in ICU. I have no idea what made me do it.”

The vampire reaches up and touches the penny pendent around his neck, much as Nyle has seen him do hundreds of times over the years.  At times he had felt a twinge of jealousy because Kazar was obviously thinking of someone special when he would do that, but Nyle knew he had his heart, and yet… shouldn’t Kazar have loved and trusted in his mate enough to tell Nyle about Callie?

When Nyle doesn’t reply, Kazar looks away from Callie to meet the wounded gaze of his other mate.  “That was the week you refused to tell me where you had gone, isn’t it?”  Kazar nods.  “Why?  Why did you never tell me about her?”  Kazar flinches inwardly at the pain he hears in his mate’s voice, and guilt nearly overwhelms him because it was his fear and failure to do the right thing which caused that pain for his beloved mate.

“I was afraid, maritus,” Kazar admits, the agony in his soul making his voice sound like gravel in a cement mixer.  Nyle smiles slightly at Kazar’s use of the Latin word for husband, it always assures the Celt of his vampire lover’s commitment to him.  But when Kazar resumes speaking, his confession breaks his heart over the pain they both suffered because Kazar’s decision to hide Callie from Nyle.

“I was afraid if you knew about Callie, you would do the noble thing and leave me.  You would believe she was my mate, and not you, because our bond had not fully formed. I could not lose you, Nyle.  Fuck that, I would not lose you!  I was not even willing to risk it.  So I hid in the shadows and watched Callie because I could not give her up either. It was a lie by omission.”  He sighs sadly, looking utterly guilt stricken.  “I lied to you, my mate, every step of the way.”  He falls silent for several long moments, searching his mate’s handsome face for some sign of understanding and finally whispers; “Can you ever forgive me?”

When Nyle doesn’t respond at first, Kazar speaks his name.  It’s an entreaty for understanding, for forgiveness, and a promise to never let him or Callie down like that again, never.  Apparently, Nyle hears all of that in his voice, and reads it in his heart because the massive shifter male strides over to yank Kazar to his feet and forcefully claims his lover’s mouth for a kiss.

Instantly, their passions ignite, their bodies clamor to claim their rightful due, as hard flesh melds against hard flesh.  Possessive caresses tease, torment, and claim as two hard cocks rub against each other, seeking release.  Nyle grips Kazar’s wrists and holds them behind his lover with one hand as his other hand slides inside of Kazar’s jeans to wrap around his long, thick member.

“Godsdamn you, Kazar.  I want to cuff your wrists and hook the chain to the eye hook in the ceiling so that I can take your lovely, veiny cock in my mouth and make you scream my fucking name as your seed pours down my throat.  And then I would fuck your ass so good, and so hard, you’d still be coming next week just at the recollection of it.”

He pulls his hand out of Kazar’s jeans and licks the slick pre-cum from his hands and moans.  Using the damp hand to cup his lover’s face, he snarls; “Godsdamn you for thinking I’d give up on you. Fuck no, Kazar.  You are mine, fucking mine.  Do you hear me?”

The shifter kisses his vampire lover again, and Kazar returns the kiss with equal passion, punishing, claiming, licking, thrusting, and biting as they are driven by a primal need to claim each other.  When Kazar finally allows Nyle to break the kiss to breathe, the Celt hoarsely snarls; “Even if Callie wasn’t mine as well, I’d never just walk away from you.  I would have learned to love her, made her love me back, so that I could keep you.”  He smiles tenderly before he rests his forehead against Kazar’s and whispers; “Thankfully, we all three belong together, but even if Fate had not deemed the three of us mates, I would have found a way to make it work because I’ll never give you up, Kazar.  You. Are. Mine.”

“Wow,” a husky female voice drawls from the doorway.  “Callie is a very lucky girl.  Her fated mates come with a sexy floor show.”

Both men look up to see Morrígan grinning at them, with Blood at her side.  “Glad you dumbasses got that shit cleared up.  Now, how is she?” Their leader inquires with a knowing smirk on his face.

The lovers finally release the other from their possessive embraces and the newcomers can see Callie sitting up in her mates’ bed.  She has obviously come out of the coma like state which transports her back in time, and she is watching her mates with a wholly lascivious and wanton gleam in her lovely, whisky colored eyes.

Callie watches enthralled as her men, yep, her men, go at each other like ravening beasts.  And heaven help her, but she is desperate to put her hands inside of her panties and relieve some of the blinding need that watching these beautiful men ravage each other has created in her body.  In truth, Callie has never wanted, no needed, to have sex as badly as she wants and needs to do so in this moment.  But a lifetime of watching others actually live their lives while she simply stood along the fringes of it, keeps Callie from following her carnal impulse.  Instead, she simply watches and gets hotter by the second.

When Nyle pins Kazar’s hands behind his back she is shocked, but oh-so turned on, as she wonders if he would treat her similarly.  Quiet, reserved Callie Boyd almost comes in her panties without touching her pussy even once when Nyle says; “Godsdamn you, Kazar.  I want to cuff your wrists and hook the chain to the eye hook in the ceiling so that I can take your lovely, veiny cock in my mouth and make you scream my fucking name as your seed pours down my throat.  And then I would fuck your ass so good, and so hard you’d still be coming next week just at the recollection of it.”

And when Nyle vows that he would have made Callie love him, it truly warms her heart.  The man is a fixer, a doer, a protector.  Kazar is no slouch in those areas either, but Callie thinks that he tends to be more thoughtful in his approach to life, whereas Nyle steps out and does on impulse.  She had heard Nyle call himself the brawn to Kazar’s brains, but she doesn’t really think that’s accurate.  Both men are incredibly intelligent, thoughtful, strong, and take charge in their daily lives.  In that moment, she realizes that being mated to two such powerful men will truly be a challenge.  A challenge she eagerly anticipates.

When the lovers break their kiss and all three mates realize they have company, Callie blushes furiously as four sets of eyes are suddenly glued to her face.  There is not a single doubt in her mind that her lustful need is revealed by her flushed and breathless state.  Thinking she is about to be humiliated for watching Kazar and Nyle going at it, all she can do is give everyone a shy little two-finger wave.

The evident lust evaporates from her mates’ expressions to be replaced by loving concern as they both rush to her side to ask how she feels.  Blood joins the triad, and does a quick examination, declaring her fit as a fiddle.  “Callie, I know you probably want some time with your males, but I have to caution you… uh… you probably shouldn’t… uh…”

“What the big, awkward sabretooth cat is trying to say, no fuckin’ for you til after the baby comes.”  Morrígan smirks.  “You might bring on labor early.”  At Callie’s surprised gasp over the blunt word, the redheaded warrior goddess shrugs her shoulders. “Well, dearie, you’ve been celibate for over ten fucking years, you can surely wait three more weeks to take on your hunk-a-licious duo.”

She imitates Callie’s little finger wave before she drags the MC’s president from the room, calling over her shoulder; “Doesn’t mean you boys can’t alleviate some of that… uh, stress she’s feeling.”  She stops and turns back to face the occupants of the room.  “But you both need to feed her some of your blood first, and I’ll send someone up with a tray of food.  She must eat.  Callie is tough, but she’s still basically human.”
