Vicious Looks: Vicious City, Book One by Renard, Loki (6)

“Maid service!” I call out as I enter the apartment I was absolutely forbidden from entering again. It took me one night of fuming to find a way back in. These are serviced apartments. That means there are servants. Sure, this method is a cliché, but clichés work for a reason. The people who live in places like these are way too good to do their own cleaning. They don’t even look at the face of anyone in a maid’s uniform.

The description sounds kinda hot. Naughty French maids. You know the drill, but what I’m wearing isn’t a sexy little skirt and heels. It’s a dumpy, shapeless frock and it makes me look like a box person. I’m on the small side at five foot one, and the skirt almost hits the floor, but it doesn’t matter. Just the color alone is enough to stop people from taking any further interest in me.

Vicious told me not to come back, but I don’t scare that easy. And he pissed me off when he threw me out. There was no need to be so rude about it. I’m going to make him pay for what he did but first, I gotta find some information.

I would never have had the balls to do this before he took Kitty, but now this is personal. I don’t want to fuck him anymore. I just want to fuck him over.

Nobody responds to my call, so I start “cleaning”. Best place to clean is the bedroom. I slip in there and check it out. This is where the magic happens. The bed is rumpled and really well slept in. I wonder if they had sex there. Checking the bedside drawers reveals an ample supply of lube, condoms and toys. Oh, so many toys. Did he use them on her?

“Hold it right there.”

I know from the voice that it’s the blond who hemmed me up last night. I turn around to face him. He’s standing behind me, his arms folded over his chest.

“Maid service?” I shrug.

“You shouldn’t be here, naughty girl.”

“I don’t really care so much about shoulds.” He’s gonna throw me out again, of course. But maybe I can stall him. He’s not mad. He seems amused to find me here. He is cute. He’s a dangerous criminal, of course, but he has a kind of boy next door charm about him. He’s older than me by a good decade, but that doesn’t matter. I haven’t fucked anyone my own age since I was a teenager.

“I bet you don’t,” he unfolds his arms and crooks a finger at me. “Come here.”

I get to my feet and walk toward him.

“I’m going to do you a favor,” he says as I get closer and have to crane my neck to look up at him. “I’m going to let you get out of here without telling Vicious that you came back. But don’t do this again, because next time I won’t be able to save your bratty behind. We’re not playing games here. He won’t be pleased about this.”

“I don’t give any kind of a fuck what your boss thinks,” I say. “He took my girl. She doesn’t want to be here. I came to get her out.”

He gives me that calm, steady look that makes him seem oh so in control. “He threatened to kill you, didn’t he? Is she worth risking your life for?”

“He’s not here, and you’re not going to kill me, fuckboy.”

“Keep the mouth up and I might.” He turns and watches me as I walk through the apartment, taking stock of things. There’s a lot of rich man’s stuff here. I could make a couple k at the pawn store just from what’s on the mantel alone.

“Nah,” I say, tossing myself down on the couch. “I know who you are. You’re not a killer.”

“Oh, you know me?”

“Yup.” I reach for the vape pen in my pocket.

“You can’t smoke in here.”

“There’s no smoke, just vapor, and it’s raspberry flavor.”

“You can’t vape in here either,” he sighs.

I inhale and then exhale a sweet stream of vapor. “Well, would you look at that, I can totally vape in here.”

He folds his arms over his chest and leans back against a counter. “You came just to get into trouble?”

“I came to see why you still have my girl, and see if I can help her. I’m not giving up. Vicious doesn’t scare me.”

“He should.”

I shrug. “You got anything to eat?”

“You should get out of here, girl. This won’t end well. Your friend is giving Vicious trouble, and it’s putting him in a bad mood.”

“Of course she is. Kitty doesn’t care what people want. She does what she wants.”

“Are you describing her, or are you describing yourself?”

“Both,” I smirk. I kind of like this guy. “So are they fucking?”

“I wouldn’t know.”

“Yes you would. You haven’t left this place since you got here last night.”

“You’ve been watching.”

“Yep,” I smirk. “So, are they fucking? Or are you all fucking? What’s the deal?”

“I thought you were here to save your friend. Why are you asking so many questions about sex?”

“Because I’m curious. Would be good for her to get laid.”

“It would be good for her to get laid,” he repeats, emphasis on the her as if he doesn’t quite believe that’s what I mean. “You’re here because of her.”

“Yeah.”

“Uh huh.” He chuckles to himself. “You risked your life to come here and make sure that Kitty is getting laid.”

“Yup.” I take another hit of my vape pen.

“You are full of shit, and you need to get out of here, for your own sake.” He’s still chuckling to himself, and it makes me smile too. Maybe I enjoy his company. Maybe I came here, a little bit, for the attention.

“What if I said she was getting laid?”

“Awesome.” I force a smile. “That would be awesome news.”

“Uh huh. Right.”

“What the hell!” Vicious strides into the room and stops dead, staring at me with brilliant angry eyes. I don’t often get scared, but suddenly it feels like I’m back in that elevator again, slammed up against the wall with him breathing rage into my face. “What are you doing here?”

“Just waiting for a mate,” I drawl. “You still have my friend.”

He rounds on me, his shoulders square, his posture aggressive. “I thought I made it clear…”

“Yeah, you’re going to kill me.” I shrug again.

“She wants to know if Kitty is getting laid,” Slick interjects. All my super cool chill badassery is utterly ruined by his comment.

Vicious shoots me an incredulous look. It takes a moment for him to speak. “You’re not really risking your life for petty jealousy, are you?”

“I am not jealous.”

Slick snorts.

“I’m not! I’m here to support my friend. Now you let her go! Where is she?”

“She’s out,” Vicious drawls.

“I guess I can go then,” I say. “Tell her I dropped by.”

Seems to me like now would be a good time to leave. I haven’t gotten as much out of this as I thought I would. Having two older men find me funny because they think I’m jealous they’re banging my friend isn’t my idea of a good time.

“Hm. Now that I don’t know about,” Vicious says. “I warned you. You’ve defied me. I’m not going to let that slide.”

“What are you going to do about it?” I lift my chin defiantly. If he was going to kill me, there would be a bullet in my skull right now, so whatever he’s saying, he’s saying to fuck with me.

He smiles malevolently. “I’m going to have Slick take you for ice cream.”
