Deceived - The Complete Series by Kylie Walker (50)

Chapter 11

“Hi Thomas,” He spun around and the look in his eyes almost made her lose some of her resolve. Once again she had to remind herself of all of his victims and once again she reminded herself that she was not going to be one of them.

“Ang…what are you doing here?” He was holding something in his hand. It looked like airline tickets. She wondered where he was planning on going…and who he planned to take with him.

“I came by to talk to you. I hope you don’t mind, I let myself in.”

He suddenly smiled brightly and said, “I don’t mind at all. As a matter of fact, I was just going to call you.” His eyes kept darting towards the kitchen. Angela felt that pain in her gut again. What was he up to? Should she pull the gun out now? “There’s something I want you to see,” he said. “Come into the kitchen.” She was hesitant to walk in front of him. She didn’t want him out of her sight.

“After you,” she said. He gave her another suspicious look and then shrugged. He walked over and poked his head into the kitchen. When he looked back at her, he had a relieved look on his face. He smiled again and pushed the door all the way open. Angela gasped. Steve sat duct taped to a chair. His head lolled to one side and blood trickled down his face and pooled around his shoulders. His shirt was saturated with it. She could hear him making little moaning noises and they went straight to her soul. She wasn’t going to let this bastard kill another man that she loved.

Thomas lay the airline tickets down on the counter and picked up what looked like a crowbar. He had that sick little smile on his face as he said, “I saved the last blow for you, babe. I want you to see what I’m willing to do for you. I want you to know once and for all how much I love you.”

Angela’s mind was in overdrive. Should she shoot him? Could she? Did she have time to kill him before he pulled his arm back and slammed that bar into Steve’s head one last, fatal time? She swallowed the panic one more time and with a snort she said, “I found out today that you were right about him all along, Thomas. He’s a cheating bastard and I don’t want anything else to do with him.”

Thomas didn’t look convinced. He drew the bar back just a little further and at the same time, Steve was struggling to pick up his head. “Then you won’t mind if I go ahead and crush his skull?” His eyes were completely wild. She barely recognized him. She remembered what he’d written in that sick journal…how he got off on watching people die. She couldn’t let him kill Steve. She had to give him something else to get off on. She took a step towards him and said,

“I don’t really care what you do to him, but before you do…I want him to hear what I have to say to you.” She cautiously reached out and touched the side of Thomas’s face. He tensed and for a second she thought he might use the crowbar on her. “I love you, Thomas. You’re the only one who has been there for me all this time. You sat with me day in and out when Blake was sucking the life out of me. You gave me a home and you took care of my every need. Do you know that I dream about you at night? I dream long, hot passionate dreams about making love to you. I tried to deny it…because I was afraid it was wrong. I was just so wrapped up in the fact that you were Blake’s friend. But then I realized that you were right. Blake wouldn’t have ever approved of this bastard,” she reached with her other hand and pushed against Steve’s head. He grunted and her stomach lurched. “Blake would have chosen you for me, Thomas. You would never cheat on me. You love me too much…right?”

Thomas looked confused. She wasn’t sure if that was better, or worse. His breathing seemed to be getting faster and he was sweating…but the one thing she noticed that gave her hope was that his muscles had relaxed. He’d have to tense up again to swing that bar. She took another step closer to him and praying she didn’t gag, she let her lips brush softly against his. Looking up into his eyes she said, “I hope that you can forgive me. I’m so sorry I didn’t see this months ago. I’ve just been so lost and confused. But, you found me, Thomas. We can be together now, at last.”

He lowered the bar and sat it on the counter behind him. Then she felt him put his arms around her and pull her tighter against him. As soon as he did, she knew he had to feel the gun. They both froze for a few seconds and she felt his hand move. She moved too, taking a step back, she pulled the gun out of her waistband and pointed it at him. He froze, but the look on his face was enough to strike terror into the heart of the bravest soul.

“You fucking bitch. You filthy whore!”

She could see Steve’s head rise up out of the corner of her eye. “Shut up, Thomas! I’m in charge now.”

He laughed. The sound was maniacal and gave her a chill. “Fuck that. You’re going to put that gun down and then you’re going to get on your knees and suck my cock right here in front of your pretty boyfriend. You can do it after I slam your pretty face into the cupboard a few times. Either way, you’re doing it.”

“I’d rather have my face smashed in then touch you,” she said. She wasn’t sure where the bravado was coming from. She had the gun, but she still wasn’t sure she could pull the trigger.

“Really?” he asked with a smile. “You’ve touched me plenty, Ang…and me you. All of those nights we spent lying in bed together, touching each other, exploring each other’s bodies…you loved it. You’re just too much of a lying whore to admit that you remember it. You wanted it. Your pussy was soaking wet for me every time…” That was when she pulled the trigger. She saw his chest explode just as she was thrown back into the wall. It was a sight that she would spend years struggling to get out of her head…but at least she could rest easier, knowing the evil in her life was gone.
