His Mate - Brothers - S-witch-eroo by M. L Briers (6)

“Leave you in your time of need, brother? Never,” Grayson couldn’t help but rub salt into his sibling’s wounds.

How often did you get to watch your brother, your alpha, try to woo his mate? It was a once in a lifetime event, and he wasn’t going to miss it for the world.

“Oh, you have my permission,” Parker growled out.

He wanted them gone before they wound his beast up so tightly that the wolf had no choice but to burst free and kick butt. He liked that idea, but again, his mate probably wouldn’t approve. Hi, I’m your mate, and these two are my dead brothers – nope, that wasn’t going to work.

“No – no, be fair, brother, you wouldn’t leave us in our time of need, would you?” Dusty chuckled.

Parker turned a dark glare on the vampire, and Raff held his hands up at his chest in surrender. The smirk on his face said he was enjoying the moment just as much as his brothers were.

“I should kill you,” Parker growled at the vampire.

“You could try — or — you could try to woo your mate.” The vampire’s devilish grin challenged him and his beast to man up.

Why should Parker care if he had an audience? His mate was a witch — thing is going to turn bad anyway.

“Oh, I’ll woo her — I’ll woo her good,” Parker growled.

He was more than up for the challenge. Witch or not — that woman was his mate.

“Quick, someone inform the witch that it’s a done deal,” Greyson chuckled, but Parker’s fist shot out, caught him square on the jaw, and the beta’s laughter died on his lips as he rallied backwards from the blow.

“I enjoyed that,” Parker growled.

“What did you do?” Mel grumbled as she eyed the growing number of supernatural’s that seemed to be gathering outside the house.

“What did I do?” Kat bit out in disbelief.

“You brought them here…” Mel snapped back.

“Yes, yes this is all my fault — of course, it is — heaven forbid you would actually take responsibility for something — anything, in your life…” Kat was rambling, and so Paige cut her off.

“Not the time!” Paige bit out in astonishment at her siblings. Now, more than ever, they needed to be working together. Who knew what those men wanted?

“Oh look, Mel, the alpha is coming to visit you. Run along, get the door,” Kat said, folding her arms, tipping her head to one side, and eyeing her sister with disdain.

“I’m not answering the door,” Mel shrugged.

“Well, I’m not answering the door,” Kat snapped back.

“Fine, I’ll answer the damn door,” Paige bit out.

“See,” Kat snapped at Mel. “You can just stand there and let our baby sister answer the door!”

“Right back at you,” Mel snapped.

“Oh, for the love of all things she-demon,” Paige groaned, as she rolled her eyes and started toward the hallway.

“Wait!” Mel bit out, and then she took a deep breath in and sighed it back out again. “I’ll get the bloody door.”

“Oh, would you look at that — smells is being responsible for once — it’s the end of the world as we know it,” Kat sneered.

“Don’t call me smells!” Mel snapped.

The heavy thud of knuckles on wood echoed through the house, and the siblings eyed each other for a long moment.

“Well, somebody has to get the door before the Hulk goes smash and knocks it off its bloody hinges,” Paige grumbled.

“I’ve got this,” Mel grumbled.

“That’s a first,” Kat muttered.

Parker felt as if he was standing at the front door with his thumb up his backside like a damn fool. Why the hell would the witch answer the door? She had to know who was outside.

For one long moment as his stomach twisted and tightened with tension, he had to wonder if the witch had snuck out the back, but when the front door was wrenched open, and there was his mate — Parker felt like a fish out of water, and he had no clue what to do next.

A low, deep growl rumble in his chest as his beast rose up within him, and he saw her eyes flare before they narrowed.

“Ahh, isn’t that cute? You sound like a puppy I had once,” Mel informed him, and watched as his face transformed into a look of sheer horror mixed with disbelief.

“A puppy?” He growled, not quite believing what he was hearing. His mate; calling his wolf a mutt – that was wrong on so many levels.

“We neutered him, and he stopped growling, lost all that aggressiveness. I think that might work with you.”

Mel snapped a bright, teasing smile onto her lips, and watched the alpha draw his head back on his neck, and his lips parted just a little as he seemed to be mulling that one over.

“There are no words…” he growled.

“Pointless stating that fact then, best to let sleeping dogs lie.”

Parker was speechless once more. His mate; the woman that he was going to spend the rest of his life with, have a family with, and she thought of Lycans as mutts — that wasn’t a good start.

Parker could hear the sniggers that came from his brothers and the vampire, but he doubted that she could. Still, it rubbed over his nerves like sandpaper, and he would dearly have loved to make it stop.

Right now, his attention was on the witch. His mate. The woman who was looking at him as if he was from another planet.

With an attitude like hers; perhaps wooing her wasn’t going to be as easy as he’d thought. They came from different worlds, and he expected to find a mate one day.

She, on the other hand, was a witch — enough said.
