Lord Whitsnow and the Seven Orphans (The Contrary Fairy Tales Book 4) by Em Taylor (19)

Chapter 19

The feel of Robert’s long hard length inside her was a bit of a shock—a very pleasurable shock, as he stretched her and filled her. He eased in slowly and gently, the smile on his face widening as he moved deeper into her. When he pushed his hands under her buttocks and changed the angle of her hips, driving slightly deeper still, Lucy gasped.

“Does it pain you?” His voice was like gravel, but his brow furrowed with concern.

Lucy shook her head. “No. It feels nice. Better than nice.”

“Uh! Good.” He pressed his lips to her neck and let out a sigh of relief. It was then she realised he would have withdrawn from her body had she been in pain. Despite the fact he was finding real pleasure in taking her. He was more concerned for her comfort than his own pleasure.

“You… err… you can move if you wish.” Truth be told, he was rather heavy.

“So dashed perfect,” he muttered, pressing his lips to her neck, then her cheek then capturing her lips as he withdrew and plunged back into her. The sensation was exquisite. Her wet heat seemed to ease his way and he slid in and out of her as though they were made for each other. Robbie moved slowly at first.

When he broke the kiss, he made eye contact with her and held it. Lucy reached her hands around his neck and ran her fingers through his hair.

“Wrap your legs around me, love.”

Lucy did as he asked. She had been given no choice with Eddie who had simply wrapped her limbs around him before sinking into her. This was different. This was wanted, and it allowed Robbie to sink even deeper, if that was possible.

“Robbie, that’s wonderful.”

“You have no idea, my love.” He increased his rhythm and Lucy could feel the tension in her body increase and a tingling sensation in her sex. She began to move against him. “Yes, my darling. That’s it. Reach for your own release. He slammed his lips against hers and their tongues tangled. The kiss was messy and desperate. Robbie withdrew one hand from under her buttocks and moved it between them. He massaged the pearl at the top of her sex which seemed to increase her excitement. She was bucking hard against his thrusts.

Just as her body started to pulse with the strength of her release and she arched against him, Robbie ground out “Thank God,” as he pulled out of her. Through a haze of lust and pleasure she watched as if not quite a part of the proceedings as Robbie stroked himself a few times and then his seed spurted in hot white jets on to her stomach.

Robbie continued to stroke his shaft, almost like he was milking it, as he heaved in deep breaths. A droplet of sweat landed on her from his forehead and she lifted her hand to wipe at his brow.

“I apologise. I should have been able to last longer. I… well it has been some time and I…”

“Robbie?”

“Mm?”

“That was wonderful.”

“It could have been better.”

“I am not sure I could have stood it being any better. I am quite overwhelmed.”

He grabbed a corner of the sheet and swiped it over her belly. Lucy frowned and tried to sit up. She did not want him seeing her naked. He had seen nothing amiss or felt nothing amiss in her nether regions. Perhaps there was nothing to see or feel if one had given birth, but she knew she had obvious marks from where her belly had stretched to accommodate a growing Eleanor. Would he put two and two together if he saw them? She did not want to take the chance.

“Are we able to try it again?”

“In a little while. Men need some time to recover.”

“How long.”

He sighed. “A quarter of an hour perhaps. But if you lie back, I am more than happy to give you pleasure while we wait for me to recover.

Lucy’s eyes widened in surprise, but she had very much enjoyed what had happened in the cave. She was willing to try it again. As he pulled her towards him and buried his face between her thighs, she gave a little sigh and plunged her fingers into his hair. She could get to like this making love business.

Robert nudged the cover to the side and looked at Lucy. She looked so beautiful in repose and the sight of her long red tresses all tangled over his dark blue silk pillow cases was making him hard all over again. A few times throughout their love-making session, she had tried to hide herself, but he had seen the marks. Of course, they did not necessarily mean she had been pregnant. He knew a courtesan who had been quite large and comely but extremely well versed in the bedroom arts. He had visited her a few times when he had been at university. He had asked about the marks on her stomach and thighs. She had told them they were caused by skin stretching. Some of the ladies who’d had babies had them, but she had them because she had eaten too many cakes and sweetmeats. He did not remember Miss Butterworth ever having issues with weight. He had seen her at least once or twice a year all his life.

A pregnancy, however, could have been hidden.

Yes, there they were. Marks that looked very much like the marks some of the widows he’d bedded had. The ones who had children.

Still, it proved nothing. Except he had thought Eleanor was her brother’s child because of the striking resemblance between the two. And had she not said that Dick had tupped her six years ago. The child was five. That all worked out perfectly.

So, was Eleanor the reason she would not marry him? And was it because Eleanor was deaf, and she feared their children would be deaf, or was it the shame of Eleanor being a bastard? Did she think him so shallow?

But then most of the ton were so shallow. It was one thing to be kind and welcoming to a bastard orphan when they were not sullying your family name. It was quite another to accept them and their mother into your family and marry the woman.

He climbed out of bed and reached for his dressing gown. He needed to clear his head. He was upset at Lucy’s lies.

But were they lies? Sins of omission possibly. But she had been truthful about Eleanor not being her brother’s child. Not unless there were shenanigans going on in the Butterworth household worthy of Lord Byron, anyway.

Robert felt as though he was losing his mind. It drifted back to all that had happened that night. They had made love for about three hours. Numerous different ways and positions. She would be sore tomorrow. He felt a little bad about that. He’d probably be a little tender himself. His poor prick had never had so much action in… well he doubted it ever had. Usually he did the deed, occasionally he repeated the deed and then he left.

The bedclothes rustled and he looked over to see Lucy stir and rub her eyes.

“My Lord?” She looked over at him as she raised herself up onto her elbows, trying to cover her breasts with the sheet. He chuckled.

“It is a little late for formalities and hiding those beautiful breasts, is it not, Miss Butterworth?”

Her cheeks flamed and she bit her lip.

“I think the light of dawn somewhat reminds me that this is wholly inappropriate.”

“Mayhap, but sometimes inappropriate is just what we need. And I have thoroughly enjoyed what we have shared. Did you sleep well?”

“I did. Thank you. I should go back to my room.”

“Did you draw the curtains around your bed like I suggested?”

“Yes.”

“Then let us draw the curtains here and the maid who cleans the grate and sets the fire will be none the wiser that you are here.”

He drew the curtains and eased into the dark recess with her, drawing her to him as he lay down. He would work something out. He would get the truth about her and her relationship to Eleanor somehow. He needed stronger evidence than some lines on her belly.

She was lying with her head atop his chest, her body flush against his side and he was so close to sleep.

“Robbie, are you awake?” He should say yes, but he was so sleepy. He tried to turn his head to nuzzle her hair. But she really had exhausted him. It did not matter he supposed. Whatever it was she could tell him later. “Oh well. Never mind then. I only wanted to say I am sorry I cannot marry. So very sorry. Not just for you. Are you really so addle-pated that you cannot see that if things were different I would marry you in a heartbeat? You silly man. I love you. But it is better you are addle-pated I suppose. It is better that only one of our hearts are broken when this charade is over.”

Well that fixed his tiredness. He was not at all sleepy now. Damned woman. Why did she have to go and declare her love for him now—before he had sorted things out with regards to her possibly being Eleanor’s mother. Good grief, why had his life turned into a Drury Lane farce?

She was sobbing quietly against his chest. This would not do.

“Lucy, darling. Are you well?”

“I am fine,” she sobbed.

“Forgive me, love but you sound far from fine. Did I hurt you when we made love?”

He knew fine that he had not hurt her. She cried his name in ecstasy several times and he had the scratch marks on his back to prove she had enjoyed every second.

“N-n-no. I am just… I think I am just overwhelmed and being silly.”

She ran her hand down his chest and stomach as he played with her hair, wondering how to improve her mood. When her fingers curled around his flaccid prick, it almost instantly started to harden.

“Lucy, what are you doing?” But she was burrowing under the covers and her mouth was around his growing erection before he could stop her.

“Shh!” she said as her mouth reached the top of his aching cock before plunging back on and making him even harder. He bucked his hips.

“I am going to hell or Bedlam or both for allowing this,” he murmured to himself. But Lucy was an adult. He had not begged or pleaded or coerced. In fact, she had all but forced herself on him. Of course, he could have easily stopped her. But he had no desire to do so.

He lay back against his pillows and enjoyed the sensations she wrung from him and could only hope the maid who set the fires would be late that morning.
