Bad Santa (Santa Land Book 1) by Kacey Hamford (14)

Eve

December 18th

I had the worst nights sleep ever, I kept waking up hot and clammy and then the next moment I was cold and shivering. I really hoped that I wasn’t getting ill. It was my birthday in two days time and Christmas day was in one week. I wouldn’t be ill. I climbed out of bed and threw my towelling robe on. I staggered into the kitchen and pressed the on button for the coffee machine while I dug around in the cupboards for some cold and flu tablets.

Eve - I think I’m getting ill. :( x

Ruby - Oh no. Did you need me to get you anything? I can pop over on my lunch break x

Eve - No, I’ll be fine. I’m going to have a long soak in the bath. x

Ruby worked as a receptionist for an accountant firm in town. She always said it was boring as hell but paid well. I was lucky enough to be able to do a job that I loved and was passionate about. Although when the writers block came that was never any fun. Like now, I had published my Christmas novella and it was slowly raking in some good sales. But I was unsure on what book to start on next.

I grabbed a tall glass of water, chucked two pills in my mouth and swallowed them down making sure to empty the glass.

I glanced out of my kitchen window as I deposited the glass in the empty sink. The sky was dark, it was definitely going to rain today.

Once the coffee machine beeped I added two sugars to the mug and slowly headed towards the bathroom. I jammed the plug in and started the water running making sure to add some bubble bath. I decided on the Christmas one I had bought when I went shopping the other day. Memories hit me when the first whiff I got was of gingerbread.

I couldn’t stop the big smile from covering my face as I lowered down into the bath. Yes, this was exactly what I needed. I laid my head back on the small cushion that was attached to the bath and grabbed my kindle off the top of the toilet seat. I opened it up and headed into the kindle store to look for a book about a hot guy in a Santa suit. When I found a book that looked intriguing, I downloaded it and sipped on my hot coffee as I relaxed.

Candy

Angel - How are you feeling? x

Candy - A bit better, I’m not staying. Just going to pop in and see Cupid real quick x

Angel - Yeah right, I’m sure his impressive manhood can help nurse you back to health x

We had to hand in all of our belongings as we entered Santa Land, it got locked in a locker and we were given the key. If we lost the key, we lost our right to our possessions. I always tried not to bring too many belongings with me, normally it was just my coat, phone and house keys.

Once my belongings were safely locked away I swished into the bar area and looked around for Cupid. I couldn’t see him, I knew he wouldn’t be back stage as it was girls night to dance tonight. My body was aching with the impending cold, so I couldn’t face it tonight.

“Hi, sexy lady.” Cupid drawled in my ear from behind me. I spun around and pushed against his chest as he tried to kiss me.

“I’m not staying. I just came to tell you that I’ve got a cold and don’t feel too well. I don’t want you catching it.”

“I think that’s my decision to make.” He smiled as he took a step closer and kissed me on the cheek. “Come with me.” He pulled at my hand, but I resisted.

“Not tonight, Cupid. I don’t have the energy.”

“Just come with me.” He demanded, giving my hand another little tug. I relented and followed after him.

He pushed open the door to the candy cane room and flipped the sign to occupied before locking it.

“Kick off your heels and lay on the bed.” He demanded. I did as I was told. Once I was relaxed on the bed my eyes felt heavy, I had to fight to keep them open. He climbed on with me and pulled me so I was resting my head on his chest.

“This feels nice,” I exhaled.

“Just rest, sweetheart.”

I woke up when I heard banging on the door.

“Time to leave.” A man’s voice shouted.

“Oh, what time is it?” I looked around but couldn’t see a clock.

“It’s just after twelve.”

“What?” I sat up straight. “Oh. I’m so sorry. Why didn’t you wake me?”

“You were happy and peaceful. I fell asleep too.” He shrugged his shoulders like it wasn’t a big deal.

“I feel bad for ruining your night. Shall I sort this out for you real quick?” I asked as I grabbed his hardness through his trousers.

“No. Sweetheart, it’s not just sex I want from you. I want it all.”

Before I could tell him that’s what I wanted too the door was flung open and two men were standing there, arms crossed. They had a master key to all of the rooms for emergencies.

“OUT!” One shouted. We both grabbed our shoes and as the same as last time I was ushered to leave one way and Cupid the other. He threw me a wink before being shoved down the hallway.
