BJARNI: Elementals MC (book 2) by Alexi Ferreira (12)

Walking into the computer room, I notice that the broken chairs have been replaced and everything is in its place again. The guys are already sitting except for Brandr. I wonder how he is doing but going by the tenseness on all my brothers faces, not well.

“Nice of you to join us lover boy!” Burkhart growls. Burkhart is the closest to Brandr so I don’t say anything, as I know he must be worried about him. I take my place on Draco’s left-hand side noticing that Bion is also at the meeting. That surprises me, as our medic Bion would never have left Brandr unless it was required.

“Who’s with Brandr?” I ask, even though his wounds didn’t seem to be life threatening, we are all worried at him not regaining consciousness.

“I have left Gunner with him,” Bion responds.

“Now that we’re all here let’s get started.” We could all see the tenseness of Draco’s body and the flash of his eyes, his rage is palpable. If you want Draco’s wrath you hurt one of the brothers or mess with the Club. “As you all know we brought the son of a bitch that was trying to blow us up with us; he’s in the cell. What I would like to know is why?” his gaze is directed at Caelius.

“After going back inside and questioning him I found out that we are royally screwed if what he says is true.” Caelius voice is low, anger radiating from him. “He told me that Vercin had found Brandr’s mate and somehow that had something with what was on the dart. I didn’t want to take the time to grill him anymore, so thought it would be sensible to bring him here after we found the dart and see what Bion can find on it.”

“Fuck!” Burkhart is on his feet, his chair on the floor, and his hands flat on the table. We are all stunned with Caelius’s revelation. How is this possible? And what about his mate, could they possibly have on the dart?

“What the fuck do you mean Vercin found his mate? How did he even know who she is?” Celmund asks what we are all thinking.

“I checked the dart that Ceric and Burkhart brought back. The only thing I found was a sleeping drug. He should be waking soon. There is only Brandr’s blood on it, besides the drug,” Bion informs everyone, but there is a pensive look to him. “Did you find anything else besides the dart?” he queries of the guys.

“I have the casing that the dart was in, I also have the Cell phone the guy was using to detonate the bombs. He must have dropped it when Burkhart went at him,” Ceric responds, placing the cell and a glass tube on the table. Bion leans over and picks up the glass tube, looking at it with a thoughtful look on his face. Celmund gets up to retrieve the Cell phone, already connecting it to his laptop.

“I believe that asshole knows more than he has told us so far. I think we should go and pay him a visit,” Caelius suggests.

“If what he said is true, we need to know how they found Brandr’s mate; and why would they shoot him-up with a sleeping drug? Something is not making sense.” Draco is looking at Wulf, those two have a special bond. I swear they know what each other is thinking most of the time.

“Motherfuckers! Fuck! Fuck!” Bion is looking enraged as he stares at the glass tube. “I need to go and check on something. I will be back,” He says. Without waiting he walks out.

“This is not looking good!” Cassius growls. Burkhart is pacing. Any minute now he is going to blow.

“Let’s calm down. What do we know so far?” Wulf interjects in a quiet voice.

“We know those sons of bitches know something we don’t!” I growl. The idea of them knowing about our women and how to get to them, makes me want to go out and kill every single Keres I see.

“We also know that somewhere, somehow we are being manipulated. That information we got was planned so we would go there. There is a snitch within the FBI, but that doesn’t add up to how they knew we were coming. So, someone that knows what we are doing is informing them,” Caelius suggests, looking around at all of us.

“Son of a bitch, how? I am monitoring everything.” Celmund is meticulous about checking the background of everyone who frequents the club. Even the cell phones are being monitored. Celmund has trust issues so nothing gets past him.

“Well there must be something or someone? Fuck! They were waiting for us. If Brandr hadn’t realised those bombs were remotely activated we would have all been blown up,” Draco states. Just then Bion comes back into the room. He’s pale - his eyes haunted.

“What’s up?” I ask before anyone else can.

“This is bad, I don’t know how they managed this but this is bad!” Bion responds, slumping into his chair.

“Well, are you going to tell us? Or are you going to sit there with a dumb ass look on your face the whole night?” I query getting the finger and a glare from him.

“I tested the tube and confirmed that there was someone’s DNA in that tube. I then tested Brandr’s and it’s too close not to guess that the DNA in that tube belongs to his mate. I think they shot him with his mate’s blood.” Everyone is stunned looking at Bion trying to understand what he means with that.

“What does that mean?” Draco asks.

“It means that he’s taken his mate’s blood, therefore the bonding has begun.” Bion answers with a pained look on his face.

“Fuck this shit! He’s fucking dead!” Burkhart screams making his way to the door. I jump out of my seat getting to the door just in time to bar his way. “Get out of my fucking way Bjarni!” Burkhart growls at me.

“I’m sorry brother, I also want him dead. But we need more information, especially now. He might be able to lead us to Brandr’s mate?” Burkhart is standing in front of me breathing raggedly. I can see the pain in his eyes. Ceric and Wulf are standing behind him, prepared to hold him down if need be.

“He can’t go through all of that again.” The pain in Burkhart’s reply squeezes my heart. His shoulders are slumped in defeat. We had all been here when Brandr’s blood brother had lost his mate and in consequence of that, his mind. We would all give our lives if need be, for that not to happen again.  The pain of seeing one of our brothers slowly losing his mind and his will to live, is something none of us want to go through again.

Just the thought of ever losing my woman makes me want to run rampant and kill everyone that could possibly ever take her away from me. I need to keep her safe, keep her away from anyone and everything that can ever hurt her.

I place my hand on Burkhart’s shoulder. “Come on brother, let’s sit down and try come up with a plan to save our brother.” I can see the anguish in his eyes but he nods and walks back towards his chair. The rest of us also take our seats, all of us worried about this new information.

“We need to find this woman. Bion is there a way of finding her using her DNA?” Draco asks from the table. As always, he’s already planning our next move.

“We can tell her age and there is even a group of scientists that can construct a mugshot from DNA but without having the person and knowing who it came from, no,” Bion responded.

“What if we get a mugshot done from her DNA and I run it through the web to find her? I’m sure somewhere her photo has been taken,” Celmund asks. I can hear the excitement in his voice. It sounds like a longshot to me, and something that might take a long time but now it looks like our only chance.

“Caelius, Bjarni I want you to get everything you can out of this guy, no holding back.” Draco commands. I nod in agreement. I would squeeze every drop of information out of him; we can’t afford not to.

“We need to make sure that we move fast with this, we can’t take any chances.  Meanwhile I will see what I can find out about our leak at the FBI!” he growls.

“We have another problem.” At his words most of the brothers’ tense.

“Gabriela’s stalker has gone off the grid.” At his words, I feel my body tense in fear.

“What? How the fuck did we lose him?” I didn’t even remember standing up, but my chair is lying on the floor behind me and I’m glaring at Celmund. He was supposed to keep an eye on him, how could he just disappear?

“His car hasn’t moved in two days. He’s not at home and he hasn’t been to any of the places he usually attends. I checked flights, car rentals and nothing. I got our brothers in Cape Town to go and pay his home a visit to see if he’s around, but nothing. They did say it looks like he went somewhere, as it seems like there are clothes missing.” Celmund was typing something into his computer, then he turned the screen towards us. “I did check taxis, there was one that picked him up at home and drove him here. If you look at the sign above the door, it’s the detectives he had looking for Gabriela. I believe they might have found a trail and he’s following it.”

My blood is thrashing in my head, my vision is tunnelling. If that son of a bitch thinks he’s going to get anywhere near my Baby Girl, he will have to go through me. Draco stands up, placing his hand on my shoulder. “We won’t let anything happen to her brother. You must just make sure she doesn’t go into the bakery until we catch the asshole.”

She was going to freak but I didn’t care, even if I must tie her down she isn’t leaving the compound. I nod, to let Draco know I had heard him. My voice is not cooperating with me, so nothing comes out.

“I also need you to get me her cell phone. I want to bug it just in case he tries to get hold of her. It is also a good tracking device, in case we ever need it,” Celmund requests. The thought of my woman ever needing to be found drives me to want to commit murder.

When I nod, Draco pats me on the back sitting back down. “If there is nothing else?” He looks around to see if there were any comments. “Well what you waiting for? Get to it.”

At his words, we all get up to leave. “Caelius!” I call. I must let him know that I’m going to check on Gabriela and get her phone for Celmund before joining him for the interrogation.

Walking into my room, I see Gabriela sprawled across our bed, fast asleep. My Baby Girl is so perfect, the thought of anything happening to her fills me with the fear of not being able to protect her. Moving further into the room, I lean down kissing her lightly on the forehead. As soon as I had walked into the room my cock had come to attention. All I want is to bury myself as deep as I can go into her warmth so every asshole will know that she is mine.

If we had more time I would be kissing her sweet pussy making her orgasm before she was even completely awake. Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath, trying to calm my thoughts. When I open them again I take hold of the sheet that is at the bottom of the bed and cover her, trying to cover temptation but the sight of her naked body is burnt into my brain.

Shaking my head, I look around for her phone; I find it on the bedside table. Taking it, I make my way back to Celmund, hoping he can do this quickly before she wakes and freaks out because we are bugging her phone.

“Make it quick, I want to get it back to her before she wakes up,” I grunt. I don’t like the idea of hiding things from my woman, but if it keeps her safe I will take her anger.

“I will bring it to you when I’m finished,” I hear him respond, as I make my way towards the cells.

Nearing the cells, I can hear Caelius talking. My rage is already rising with the knowledge of what this asshole did. If anything happens to Brandr, it will also be his fault as he was the one that shot Brandr.

Entering, I see the guy is bleeding from his mouth. It also looks like Bion has had a look at his leg and patched him up temporarily.

“I want to know everything you know about the woman!” I hear Caelius asking him calmly.

“I have already told you what I know,” he mumbles.

“Mark listen to me. You are going to go through this again and again until I am happy we know everything you know.” I can hear the irritation in Caelius’s voice. “Tell me again who told you about the woman,” he asks.

“No one told me anything, I heard Vercin speaking to Merdor. I’ve already told you this. They were speaking about some woman that Merdor found and then Vercin said that she was his mate. I didn’t know what he was talking about until yesterday, when he called me into his office and showed me photos of you guys and told me to shoot him with the dart.” He swallowed loudly, his breathing was erratic. “When I asked him, what was on the dart he told me it was the best way to make him suffer.  I didn’t understand until I heard him phone someone as I walked out the door, he told the person that the woman’s blood was on the dart and ready. I thought it was a virus or something.”

“Was there anything else you heard them say about the woman?” I ask.

“Only that the gran should be killed and that she should be brought in,” he replies, his head falling forward in exhaustion and pain. Caelius and I share a look, this must be the woman from the conversation that Celmund had intercepted.

“Do you know this woman’s name?” Caelius asks.

“Anna, Ally … I don’t know, something with an A. I did hear him say ‘she is so close and the idiots have never found her’.” His voice was fading. He was about to pass out, but we needed as much information as we could get and as quickly as we could.

“Go and update Celmund. Maybe he can start considering young women in our town and neighbouring towns, which are living with their grans, I will carry on here.” I start to move closer to Mark. Caelius is already making his way towards the door. I really hoped the information we had acquired would help us find this woman, as time was running out.
