BJARNI: Elementals MC (book 2) by Alexi Ferreira (21)

It has been a week since the shooting and I must be honest, I still shake when I think of what we went through. Eric was doing better, for a moment there, we all thought he wasn’t going to make it as he had lost too much blood, but Bion managed to save him.

I have stopped having nightmares. The first night I had a nightmare Bjarni was so upset he punched a hole in our headboard. My man really didn’t like it when I was in distress. He had been with me every minute of every day for the last week, and today I insisted that he go on the run that the others were going on.

He had already phoned me twice making sure that I was fine. I told him that if he didn’t stop worrying I was going to be the one responsible for him getting a heart attack. He laughed at that, saying that if he didn’t get one when I was being shot at, he doubted anything else would do it.

Hearing a noise behind me, I turn to find Brandr’s mate standing at the door to the kitchen. This is the first time I have seen her since the day she was brought to the compound. It has been nearly a month. Jasmine and I have asked to see her, but apparently, she wasn’t ready to see anyone. Looking closely, I see her looking at me with a haunted look in her eyes. I don’t move, worried that any sudden movement might make her run back to her room.

“Hi, you must be Aria. I’ve been looking forward to meeting you.” I say, with a big smile on my face. I notice her shoulders relax a little at my greeting. “Why don’t you come sit over here and keep me company, while I finish this chocolate cake I’m making.” I point to the chair that’s closer to me.

She makes her way towards the chair. She reminds me of a gazelle, with one wrong move she will run away. She’s a beautiful woman with long straight black hair and piercing blue eyes that are constantly looking, as if expecting someone to attack her.

“Would you like some coffee?” I ask, pointing towards the coffee machine on the counter behind me. She looks at the coffee machine then back at me, nodding. Only now do I realise that I have been the only one speaking, she hasn’t said a word since she walked in. I turn pulling, down a mug I fill it with coffee, bringing the jug of milk and the sugar bowl I place everything in front of her. I remember that I still have some biscuits I made yesterday in the cookie jar. Going back, I put some on a plate and bring it to her.

Just then Jasmine walks in; her hands at her lower back, massaging. She has been complaining about back pain for the last two days. When she sees who’s sitting at the table, her face breaks into a huge smile. “Yay! I finally meet you!” she says, walking towards Aria.

“Aria this is Jasmine she’s with Wulf and I’m Gabriela. I’m with Bjarni.” She looks at both of us with a sad smile. She picks up her coffee, taking a sip and sighs. I see Jasmine looking at me with a confused look on her face, and I shrug, trying to tell her I also don’t know why she isn’t answering.

Jasmine and I continue talking, sometimes Aria will nod at others she will shake her head but she hasn’t uttered one word since she has entered the kitchen. After a while Jasmine gets up. She can’t sit on these chairs for long as her back aches. “How about we move to the entertainment area? Those couches are more comfortable for me now than these horrible chairs. My baby was kicking me the whole night, until her daddy started to talk to her.”

Before we reach the kitchen door I see Aria take hold of Jasmine’s hand, at the touch Jasmine stops, looking around at Aria. “It’s a boy.” Aria’s voice comes out in a raspy whisper, as if it hurts for her to talk.

I see Jasmine’s eyes fill with tears; a big smile on her face, her hand stroking her belly. “So, Wulf is right he’s getting his son.” Looking at Aria she brings her hand to her stomach. “Thank you,” she says. Aria looks at me and smiles. This time it reaches her eyes and that haunted look isn’t there anymore. I wonder how she knows that the baby is going to be a boy. It’s funny how Jasmine and I just believe instantly that what she says is true.

A few hours later the three of us are still sitting in the entertainment room watching a movie. Jasmine and I would comment and the three of us would laugh. Aria hasn’t spoken again since telling Jasmine that she was having a boy, but she is expressing herself more with her hands.

“Aria?” All three of us jump at Brandr’s voice right behind us. Looking around, I see the worried look on his face.

“I’m fine,” her raspy answer comes out in a whisper. She stands up, walking towards him, she places her hand on his chest. I see him staring at her as if he’s making sure.

Just then Bjarni walks in behind them. Aria tenses, looking frightened. I know my man can be frightening with his height and width, but why would she react like that when Brandr is around. I walk towards my man, smiling at him for her to see that he is harmless.

“Aria this is Bjarni, he might look scary but he’s a big teddy bear.” Bjarni takes me in his arms, kissing me lightly. When he finally looks at her, she is pressed against Brandr’s side, her eyes down on the ground.

“We will see you later!” Brandr calls out in a gruff voice as he guides her out of the room. It was strange how Aria had changed when Bjarni came in. She seemed scared. I have a feeling it’s not because it’s Bjarni, but because he’s a man.

Bjarni looks at me with a raised eyebrow, I shrug to let him know that I didn’t know what it was about. He’s about to kiss me again when I hear Wulf behind us. “Move, you’re in my way,” he grumbles. At that, Bjarni rolls his eyes, making me laugh.

Suddenly I’m lifted off my feet and am thrown over Bjarni’s shoulder. “What are you doing?” I ask laughing, while I stretch out my hand and squeeze his ass. I laugh even more when I hear him groan as he slaps my ass in retaliation. Lifting my head, I see we’re making our way towards our room. Smiling, I run my hands up his back, noticing him speed up his pace.

After we are in the room and the door is closed Bjarni slides me down his body letting me feel his hardness sliding against me. “I love you Baby Girl,” he says, putting his hand on my face, as he strokes his fingers over my lips.

“I love you too Bjarni. You have made me question things, changed my reality, revolutionized my world in a second and made me believe in a forever,” I answer. Turning my face, I kiss his palm.

Leaning down, he places his hands on my ass. As he lifts me up until my legs are around his waist and my pussy is rubbing against his hardness: my arms go around his neck as I bite his bottom lip lightly. “Baby Girl, my soul was in darkness until I found you. You have brought me light, given me happiness and a new meaning to my life. You are my very existence.” With that, he takes my lips in a breath-taking kiss, penetrating my soul with his essence, with his love with his very existence.

I know that there will still be problems brewing with the Keres MC and things might get worse before they get better, but with Bjarni and my new family next to me, I will be fine.
