Chapter Six
“Is your wife around?” Nicole just had to ask. She held her phone with one hand and flipped through Netflix using her other. She wasn’t so adept in using her left hand for a remote control and it did feel awkward but her mind was solely focused on Michael at the moment.
“She’s still here but she’s leaving in an hour,” Michael replied. Nicole could hear him chopping something so she assumed he was in the kitchen. “She’s going to this girl’s seminar thing with her cousin.”
“Will she be gone long?”
Michael paused and then answered, “I think she’ll be gone for three days or so. Not sure. Want me to ask?”
Nicole laughed and then told him, “You bastard. Don’t make it that obvious. She might lie and then pop in during the night and catch you fucking me in her bed.”
“All I heard was ‘fucking’ and ‘bed’ so you’ll need to come here and check my ears,” Michael answered in a playful tone. “I think I got something clogging my hearing.”
Nicole chuckled. She missed him. It had been two days since he came over and they had sex in her living room. It had been a full day since he was able to call her. Vanessa came home and although Michael didn’t really care for her he still did his duty as her husband. He never let Vanessa know about Nicole and how she had been with him for quite some time now.
“Well, pick me up when she’s gone,” Nicole then told him.
He readily agreed to that, “Oh I will. I’ll head straight there after the airport. Do me a favor and wear what I bought for you.”
That was a naughty thought, one that turned Nicole on more than she thought it would. She couldn’t help but smile and say, “Sure, but on one condition: hands off me until I say otherwise.”
“Now you’re teasing me,” Michael exclaimed.
“Of course I am,” Nicole replied. She finally found something she wanted to watch, clicked on it, and waited as it loaded. “Now hurry up and get off the phone. She might be listening in. I’ll see you when you get here.”
Michael laughed on the other end, “So what if she’s listening in? Got anything to say to her?”
“Hello Vanessa,” Nicole whispered and giggled. “I hope you leave soon, I’m excited to come over and fuck your husband and try on some of your expensive clothes for the weekend!”
Both of them laughed but Nicole knew she really had to end the call. There was the real risk of Vanessa picking up a phone somewhere else in the manor and actually listening in on their conversation. That would spell the end of their little affair.
Fortunately, Michael was no idiot and didn’t try to prolong their conversation any further. He ended the call and Nicole was left cuddling a pillow on her bed, watching a sitcom series on her TV.
While waiting for Michael, the only thought in her mind was the fact that he was completely dedicated to her right now. However, she knew that the reality was still there. He was married and the day would come when he would have to choose between Nicole or his wife. She knew that if it ever came down to that, he’d still choose his wife even though he had no love or affection for her.
Nicole had no idea what Vanessa looked like, however. There was the chance that she’d be plain-looking but rich and that would be fine for Michael and Vanessa’s family since it sealed their financial conditions. There was a chance she’d be the hottest girl on the planet and that would make Michael’s choice even harder to make. He may not love her but it would be hard-pressing to make him give up a nice piece of ass.
Disgruntled, Nicole got up and looked at herself in the mirror, one that was big enough for her to see her entire body. She took off her shirt and shorts and stared at her naked form. While Nicole never considered herself to be drop-dead gorgeous, even she had to admit that she did have a firm, sexy body. One of her best traits was the arc of her back. Michael - and every guy she slept with for that matter - always commented how they were turned on by the way her back bent, allowing her to naturally raise her ass whenever they were in the doggystyle position. Every time someone complimented her about her back she would picture the way Megan Fox posed in the first “Transformers” movie. She knew she couldn’t be compared to a Hollywood star but it was nice to think she could look that way to some guys.
Pondering about her own body made Nicole think about Vanessa. Why didn’t Michael like her? Was she not sweet enough or caring enough for him to keep his attention on her? Was Vanessa just a natural, snotty bitch that drove men mad? What if she was hot but was just downright boring in bed?
All those questions drove Nicole insane and frustrated. She stomped to the kitchen and got herself an energy drink from the fridge before settling back in her bedroom, the answers still not found. She wanted to know exactly what went wrong between Michael and Vanessa with the hopes that she wouldn’t repeat those same mistakes.
Nicole knew the answers wouldn’t just walk into her head. She needed to do a little investigating to really find out what happened. Fortunately, Vanessa was leaving and now she could stay in Michael’s place for a while. Maybe with a little probing she could uncover the truth. Maybe it was all nonsense and she was just wasting her time but it wouldn’t hurt to just know the truth and get some peace of mind.
It was these questions that bothered Nicole throughout the rest of her morning. She continued to think about the predicament while showering and changing her clothes. It was a good thing she still recalled to wear the “gift” Michael had got her. It was a little cute thing he purchased online and had it delivered to her doorstep. She then packed a small luggage and waited for noontime. By the time Michael’s car pulled up to the apartment driveway, Nicole was all set and ready to go.
