Filthy: A Dark Romance (A Damaged Romance Duet Book 2) by Michelle Horst (19)

Chapter Twenty Nine

Sophia~

Adam slipped away while I was sleeping. I try to help Miss Ella but I’m just getting in the way. After a while I give up and I go sit out front on the patio. My eyes are glued to the road. I don’t move unless it’s to use the bathroom.

When night falls, River comes out with a blanket. She doesn’t say anything but I can see she’s just as worried as I am. She places the blanket over me, and whispers, “They’ll be back.”

Every now and then, I doze off, but I can’t sleep.

What if something goes wrong? What if they are caught?

I feel empty without Adam. He has become my everything, and I want him back.

The hours creep by slowly and my eyes are burning from watching the road, but I don’t stop.

I see movement and I blink a couple of times. Two silhouettes are coming down the road. I jump up and run towards them.

“Adam!” I cry as I get close.

He opens his arms and I almost jump him off his feet. I throw my arms around his neck and I start to kiss any spot on his face that I can reach.

“You’re back.”

“I’ll always come back to you,” he says.

He puts me down and I see him flinch with pain. “You’re hurt!”

“Shh … shh, it’s nothing,” he calms me. He takes my hand and we walk around the house to Adam’s home. “Come help me get cleaned up.”

When we get home, Adam pulls me into the bathroom with him. “I fucking missed you,” he growls and he pulls me closer. He takes me into the shower, and turns on the faucets.

He reaches for my dress, and pulls the wet fabric over my head before he undresses himself.

He takes soap and works it into a ball of foam. My eyes drop to his chest as he starts to lather his skin. His hands glide over his chest and his abs and I have to admit that I’ve never seen anything like it.

I feel tingles just about everywhere as I watch his hand glide over his wet skin.

His hands move over his abs and then further down until he takes hold of his hard cock. I watch him stroke himself and my legs almost go numb from the wave of desire coursing through me.

He rinses the soap off and then he works the bar of soap into a ball of foam again. This time his hands glide over my body and when he reaches down between my legs, I moan from the pleasure.

He rinses the suds from my body and turns the water off. He doesn’t bother with a towel as he takes my hand, and leads me back to the room.

He gets on the bed and then lies down on his back. My breathing speeds up as his fingers close around his cock again and he starts to stroke it in long, hard strokes. He doesn’t give me any commands, and just lies on the bed, stroking himself.

Slowly, I move forward and crawl onto the bed, and straddle him. He lines himself up with my entrance and I slowly sink down, taking him into me.

I place both hands on his chest and his hands go to my hips. He caresses my skin as his hands slip up my sides, then over my breasts.

I lean down and press my mouth to his. The kiss is gentle at first, but quickly grows as the desire builds between us.

Against my mouth he murmurs, “You’re so fucking perfect.”

I deepen our kiss and at the same time, I start to rock my hips. He groans deeply and I feel the sound all the way to my stomach.

We slowly rock together and it feels as if we are becoming one. I’ve never felt so close to another person. It feels as if he’s completing me.

I sit back and he goes even deeper, hitting a spot that draws a moan from me. I start to move up and down and all the while Adam never takes his eyes off me. He watches as the tension builds in me. Each thrust brings me closer to that sweet release.

The tingles start to get intense and then I rock wildly against him. I tilt my head back as ecstasy makes me tremble with pleasure.

He grips my hips again, and starts to thrust into me while I clench around him. His fingers dig into my skin and he pulls me down hard. I watch as his whole body tenses, his muscles rippling as his breathing stops.

He thrusts one more time into me. He didn’t once take his eyes off mine. He let me have control and it felt amazing.

I lean over him and kiss him softly. I’ll do anything for this man. I want to make him as happy as he has made me.

“Thank you for letting me love you,” I whisper against his mouth.

He smiles softly. “Anything for you.”

I walk down to the chapel, hoping to find Jack there. I can’t ignore things any longer, especially after the other day.

I tried to tell Jack that I’m sorry for raping him. That’s what it was. I won’t lie to myself to make me feel better. I could have refused to have sex with Jack. Yes, they would have killed me for disobeying them, but that didn’t make what I did right.

When I find him sitting by the chapel, I take a deep breath and push through.

“Jack,” I whisper.

His head snaps up and when he sees that it’s me, he doesn’t say anything. He just stares at me for a while, then he says, “Don’t say you’re sorry.”

I nod, and swallowing hard, I say, “I won’t. I know the words won’t take away the pain.”

He leans forward, resting his arms on his legs. Looking out over the garden, he says, “I get it, Sophia. It was either do what you’re told, or you were killed.”

“I still had a choice and I made the wrong one.”

“That house was a festering ground for bad choices.”

That’s the truth. I wipe my hands nervously over my dress. “I know it’s going to take time. I can’t change the past but I’d like to try and show you that I’m not that person anymore. Even if it takes years, I’d appreciate a chance to show you that the person who raped you is dead. That I’m not her.”

When he just remains quiet, I turn around. I had to try.

“Sophia.”

I swing back and watch with huge eyes as he walks toward me. He stares down at me until a tear slips over my cheek. I try to swallow them back.

To my surprise he reaches for my face. He hesitates for a moment before he wipes the tear away.

“You were just a kid,” he says.

I shake my head and the words burst from me, “Don’t forgive me, Jack. Nothing will ever justify what I did.”

“We were both just kids,” he says, ignoring what I just said. “We both did fucked up things for different reasons. We won’t be friends today, not tomorrow, not next week, not next month.”

I nod, grateful that he at least spoke to me. I start to turn away when he says, “Who knows. We might be friends in a couple of years.”

I smile at him and swallow down all the emotions washing over me.

“Thank you, Jack.”

He nods and I watch as he walks away from me.

I’m willing to work hard to show him that I’m a new person. I’m just glad I have a chance.

Life is full of choice and chances. What we do with them is up to us.

I choose to be happy and I’ll take every chance to make it happen.
