Hades' Flame (Devils Rejects MC Book 1) by Glenna Maynard (14)

Danny

Slamming my gavel down on the large oak table, I call the private meeting between myself, Terror, Cupid, Uno, Boogeyman, and Reaper to order.

“We need to strike Thursday, if we want to make the delivery with Tiny on Friday. I need this shit done. Outlaw is bringing my boy home Saturday and I do not want any of the girls still on club property when he arrives. It is imperative we keep the Black Rebel Riders’ MC in the dark on this.”

“What about your wife? Does she know any of your plans or about this deal? Will she go spouting off to her brother?” Terror questions.

I get where he is coming from, but I’m his Prez, he doesn’t get to question me.

“Sara won’t be a problem. She only knows what I tell her which isn’t a damn thing when it comes to club business. Your old lady probably has GPS on your damn dick, but you don’t see me saying shit about it. So, in the future, man, if you know what’s good for you—you’ll keep Sara’s name out of your mouth. This is your only warning,” I seethe at him.

Uno spreads the blueprints to the sorority house out on the table.

We need to shift our focus to the plan.

He points at an entryway. “This is an outside entrance to the basement.”

“Our entry and exit point,” Boogeyman chimes in grinning. The bastard is too damn excited about this.

“According to county records the basement has been turned into more bedrooms. There is an alleyway we can use to park the van right next to the gate to the backyard. Once we get in Boogeyman, Reaper and myself will administer the chloroform. If we are lucky no one will hear a damn thing. Cupid will help me get them to the van while Hades puts his talent for burning shit up to use. By the time the smoke gets to the first floor, we’ll be long gone.”

“Sounds good, Uno.”

“How are you handling the fire?” Terror asks.

“Don’t worry, it will look like faulty wiring from the renovations. I know what I’m doing. Is everyone in agreement? Terror, you got enough of that shit to knockout that many girls?”

He nods. “I got it handled. Picking it up as soon as we are done here.”

“Good. Boogeyman, take a prospect with you and Uno to the delivery drop-off and have the prospect drive the U-Haul to my house after you secure the moonshine at the warehouse.” He grunts his agreement. “Meeting adjourned.”

Once the guys clear out it is just me and Cupid.

“Do you trust them to get this done?”

“I have to. Everything must happen according to plan. There is no room for mistakes. Not with Tiny threatening Sara.”

I need to put in a call to the prick to confirm the details for Friday. Nothing can go wrong. Absolutely nothing.

“On second thought why don’t you go with them. I don’t trust that damn prospect to drive the truck.”

Cupid grins. “Sure thing, Prez.”

Taking out my burner phone, I put in a call to Tiny.

“Product is en route, and delivery will take place as scheduled this Friday.”

“Impressive. If everything is satisfactory, I do believe we will continue this arrangement.”

“That wasn’t the deal,” I grit.

“The deal can change whenever I please. You answer to me. Never forget that. Unless you want to bring your wife instead. I’ll gladly take her off your hands. She is quite ripe.”

I grip the phone tighter. “You’ll get what you’re paying for.”

“Good. Until Friday.” He pauses. “Oh and tell Sara she looks good behind the wheel of her new car.”

The line goes dead.

Fuck.

Bastard.

I pull out my other phone and dial Sara.

“Where are you right now?”

“I’m at the grocery store with Amber. She showed up at the house as I was going out the door. Why?”

“When you get done swing by here. One of my men is gonna tint your windows for you. I don’t want CT getting sunburnt.” I tell her the first lie I can think of.

Sara

I am getting ready to get in my car to grab something to cook Danny for dinner. I don’t want him thinking he needs to eat out all the time when he can have a warm homecooked meal prepared by me.

A car I don’t recognize pulls up to the curb.

A gorgeous woman with dark, bob length hair gets out dressed to kill. Her jeans fit her like a second skin, and I don’t think her shirt even moves at all as she walks toward me with black knee-high boots on that I would love to have. Her skin is seriously flawless.

“Hey girl, I’m Amber. Terror’s old lady.”

“Oh, hey.”

“Sorry I haven’t been by sooner to formally introduce myself. I’ve been working doubles at the hospital. I’m a pediatric nurse, but I sell cosmetics on the side.” She waves a hand over her perfectly flawless dolled up face. “Let me know if you want me to hook you up.” She winks.

“Sure, sounds good. I was just about to head out to do a little shopping. You wanna come with?”

“Okay, but we are totally riding in your hot car.” She smiles. “So where’s the baby?” She inquires as we get our seatbelts on.

“Oh, he is with my brother until Saturday. I feel so weird not having him with me.”

“I bet.”

The store I am going to is only a few blocks away, but we manage to fit in some small talk along the way.

“I take it the old lady welcoming committee hasn’t been knocking down your door.”

“The what?” I laugh.

“The other bitches whose old men are Devils Rejects. They have this weird idea that because our men are in a brotherhood it means we should all be a sisterhood or some shit. But I say fuck that. Those women are backstabbing bitches. Stay away from them. Especially Uno’s witch of a wife, Stephanie. That cunt is as twofaced as they come. I can’t believe they haven’t been by yet.”

“I met MaryAnn. She seems nice.”

Amber snorts. “Oh girl, I knew when I got out of my car that I was going to like you.”

My brows crinkle. “Um, thanks. I think.”
