I’m finally allowed in the Roadhouse. Now that I am a married woman and the reception is being held here.
Moonshine and beer is flowing. A Live band is playing. My family surrounds us along with a majority of Danny’s club. I know why they are sticking around. Danny is presenting me with his property patch. I’m excited and nervous. It’s my first tattoo and what will cement me as his old lady. I wish Harley and Kenadee could be here, but their parents said no way.
With what I am seeing, no wonder. Bikers waste no time getting wild. I am pretty sure Danny’s enforcer, Reaper is fucking someone over the pool table. I’m not judging. I can’t wait to be alone with my husband.
The photographer snaps a few shots of Danny and me with my grandpas and my brother.
I don’t see my parents, but at least they showed at the church. It wasn’t exactly their blessing, but it is a start.
My Uncle, Rebel approaches us, and he extends his hand to Danny.
“Congrats, Hades. Don’t fuck up or I will fuck you up. You feel me?”
“I feel you. I’ll take good care of her.”
Rebel nods and gives me a brief hug.
The night is going by fast and we are already having our first dance.
There is nothing like being in Danny’s arms as he holds me close, whispering sweet nothings in my ear. “You are so damn beautiful, Sara. As good as you look in this dress, I can’t wait to get it off you and have you all to myself. Be ready for a whole lotta lovin’.”
“Can we skip the rest of the party and get to the naked and lovin’ part?” I grin as he cuts me off with a kiss.
There is a tap on Danny’s shoulder and to my surprise my dad is here. “Can I cut in?”
Danny looks apprehensive as his brows kink up and his mouth curves down, but he steps aside.
“You’ll never know how much I regret not walking you down the aisle today. I wanted to. I had planned on it, but I wanted your mother to be there. She may not agree with your marrying Danny, but you’re my baby girl. I’ll always love and support you no matter what. And if you ever need me all you gotta do is say the word. I’ll be there. No questions. I love you, Sara. I may not tell you enough, but I’m proud of you.”
“Thanks, Dad.”
He releases me, and I go in search of Danny and find him at the bar taking a shot with my brother.
I’m glad they have made amends even if it is only for me.
Cupid, Danny’s VP, stands up on a chair and clinks two beer bottles together.
“A toast. To my Prez, Hades, may your old lady always light your fire.” He sways to the side and belches. “To his Flame, may he always ride you as hard as he rides my ass.”
Everyone cracks up but raises their drinks.
I shake my head and bury it in my husband’s shoulder.
Everyone is pretty wasted.
Except me.
I don’t want to get sick again.
Boogeyman with the help of Tread carries our wedding cake from the kitchen and I pray they don’t drop it. My Aunt, Chelle had it made for us as her gift.
Our cake is red velvet with cream cheese frosting. The topper has a motorcycle and the bride dragging the groom away from it.
Danny holds his good hand over mine as we slice the first piece of cake together. He feeds me my bite, being sweet and gentle. I however take the piece in my hand and smash it on his lips before licking it off.
I hope things are always so easy and playful between us.
Reaper, grabs me up all the sudden, throwing me over his shoulder as I squeal and wiggle. “Keep fighting, me, only turns me on.” He chuckles.
I start to make a smart remark but think better of it. Reaper is scary as hell but in a sexy way. A dangerous way. I am pretty sure he kills people for a living even though Danny tells me he owns a construction company that builds porches and decks.
I can’t picture him using a hammer to do anything but drive nails in someone’s hand.
Reaper’s hand comes down hard on my ass once before he puts me down on the bar.
“It’s time to get your property patch. One shot won’t hurt ya.” He reaches behind the bar and pours me a shot of tequila. Danny shakes his head but then gives me an encouraging nod.
Reaper pours some salt on his wrist and I am afraid to know where his hands have been. I only pray the alcohol kills the germs as I lick the salt off him and slam the shot back. Danny is waiting with the lemon between his lips and I eagerly go to suck it.
Inkman, the guy who used to do the tattoos for the Black Rebel Riders’ MC passed away and JT, one of the club members stepped into his shoes. He’s been doing tattoos all day for both clubs.
The moment is here. Danny’s property patch will be inked on my skin forever.
I’m nervous but I will be proud to have his name on me.
“Where do you want it?” JT looks between me and Danny.
Danny runs his finger along my collarbone and down onto my chest stopping right above my left breast.
“Here.”
JT rubs a pad of alcohol over the area then gets to work transferring the outline onto my skin. The location is perfect, it can be hidden when I want it to be and can be shown off when needed.
I jump slightly when the tattoo gun begins to buzz.
Danny squeezes my hand and kisses my temple.
The design begins to take shape, spelling out Hades’ Flame in black curly font ink with a flame blazing beside it.
It’s feminine and perfect.
JT puts some gel stuff on it and gives me instructions on how to care for it.
Cupid comes over to Danny and hands him something. It’s a leather cut and on the back, is the Devils Rejects insignia with the letters Hades’ Flame embroidered on the back.
I get down off the bar and Danny slips the vest over my shoulders.
I am an old lady now.
Pride fills me as he kisses me and shows me off on the dance floor one more time before we leave for Webb Hollow.
