Meet the Wife

(Mason)

Want to know how to have your decent day get all kinds of fucked up? Have your girlfriend call you to tell you that your wife is at your apartment, waiting for you.

I dropped everything right on the table as I spoke with the lawyers about my upcoming plan. I had warned them many times who Stacey was and what she was capable of doing. They had their proof in the phone call from Violet. I made it very clear that my plan was the only option and to push forward hard and fast. I wasn’t going to fuck around being stuck with that woman in my life. Especially if she and Violet were facing off in the hallway.

I knew the things Stacey could and would say. I knew she had no filter. I knew she loved to play dirty and would see Violet as an easy meal. No matter how beautiful and sexy Violet was, she was still really innocent.

I jumped off my motorcycle and busted through the door to the apartment building. When I got to the hallway, I saw Stacey standing there, arms crossed, chomping on pink bubble gum.

She looked right at me. “There you are.”

“Where’s Violet?”

“Inside. She gets a key?”

“She lives there,” I said. “You don’t. Go away.”

“I got papers in the mail from you.”

“Yeah? You could have just signed them and left it at that.”

“I want a reason,” Stacey said. “You want a divorce? I’ll ruin you.”

I gritted my teeth. I walked toward her. “You and I never loved each other. We were dead drunk when we got married. And I promise you…if you don’t sign the fucking papers and disappear from my life for good, I will get the best lawyers in the world and fight you until you have nothing.”

“I have the slit between my legs, asshole,” Stacey said. “So, I’ll get what I want. I’ll fight until you got nothing. I’ll make your life so miserable that little sweet thing in your apartment will have no choice but to leave.”

“Have a good night,” I said. I grabbed the doorknob. It was locked. I knocked gently. “Violet, it’s me.”

The door opened a second later.

I saw the look on her face. Flustered. Annoyed. Pissed off. All of which she had the right to feel.

“I’m so sorry,” I said.

She nodded. “It’s okay.”

“Aw, how cute,” Stacey said. “Little Miss Tight Cunt staying loyal to her man. How about you tell her the whole truth, Mason? Huh? That you were drinking like a fish. That you were picking fights just to watch people get hurt. That it was your idea to get married. That you’ve been giving me money for a loooong time.”

I turned, ready to spit fire.

That’s when Violet grabbed my shirt and pulled.

“It’s time to end it,” Violet said. “I know he’s an asshole. A complete asshole. Half the time I hate his guts. The other half…I’m not sure. But you playing into his hate and anger just lets him win. So sign whatever papers that need to be signed and walk away. If it’s a money thing, I can-”

“No,” I said. “It’s not a money thing.” I eyed Stacey. “You saw the papers, right?”

“I saw the papers, yeah,” Stacey said.

“Then there’s no reason for you to be here,” I said.

“Yes, actually, there is. I’m struggling. I had a boyfriend, and he stole my money and hit me.”

“You’re married,” Violet said.

“And you’re fucking a married man yourself, honey,” Stacey said with a laugh.

Violet’s cheeks burned red.

“Stacey…”

“Can we ask the puppy dog to go away for a second?”

“Puppy dog…?” Violet said.

“Stacey, you go away,” I said. “You need to get a lawyer or contact mine. It’s all there. I’m not trying to do anything wrong with you. I made a mistake and I’m owning up to it and fixing it.”

“Mistake. You didn’t think I was mistake when you were fucking me, telling me you loved me. That big thick dick of yours…did you tell your puppy dog when the last time was we were together? Huh?”

I gritted my teeth.

I glanced down at Violet. “You should just stay inside then, Violet. Let me talk to her for a minute, then I’ll call the police.”

“I’m not going anywhere,” Violet said. “I’m not going to get shoved away. Hidden. I’m not some toy.”

“Oh, but you are,” Stacey said. “A shiny, new, virginal toy. And when he’s done with you, he’ll throw you away. And then I’ll come back and take good care-”

“That’s enough!” I snapped. “Get out.”

I backed up and put a hand to Violet’s belly, easing her back too.

Stacey stepped forward, putting a foot inside my apartment.

“Cash,” she said. “That’s what I’ve always wanted and what I want now. Right now.”

“I’ll give you everything I have to go away,” Violet blurted out.

“No,” I said. “We’re not playing that game. Not anymore. I filed papers. Sign them or don’t. I don’t care.”

“I’ll bury you,” Stacey yelled.

“Try me,” I said.

Stacey then looked at Violet. “Yeah. Just hide behind him. You whore. Fucking someone else’s husband. Even after you found out he was married. That makes you a Grade-A slut. A big fucking slut. You know that, right?”

“Stacey,” I growled through my teeth.

But she wasn’t listening. She wasn’t going to listen.

So I side-stepped away from Violet and let her stand there.

Violet glanced at me, then at Stacey.

“I know I’m a slut,” Stacey said. “But at least I get paid for it.” Stacey rubbed the pointer and middle fingers of her hands to her thumbs and made her lips extra pouty. She was trying to be tough.

That’s when I realized she wasn’t just here for money.

She wanted one last ride. One last crazy adventure.

“You know what,” I said, “why don’t you come in, Stacey?”

“What?” Violet asked.

“Yeah, what?” Stacey asked.

“Come inside. And we’ll figure this out.”

“I’m not a third fucking wheel,” Stacey said. “And I’m not kissing her cunt.”

“I wouldn’t suggest it,” I said. “I promise you…it’ll just be two people figuring things out.” I looked at Violet. “Right?”

“Uh…right…” Violet said.

“Whatever,” Stacey said. “I better leave with some cash. And I want to talk about those papers. Since when are you so fucking broke, huh? Are you fucking with me?”

“Hey, hey, hey,” I said. “Anything legal can be discussed with lawyers. This is personal now. Right here, right now.”

“What are you doing?” Violet asked me. “I don’t want that crazy bitch in here.”

“Crazy bitch?” Stacey said. She laughed. “You don’t know fucking crazy. You got that?”

Violet shuddered and stepped back.

I shook my head.

I wanted Violet strong. Proud. True. I didn’t want her to worry about anything in life. She was beautiful and capable of taking care of herself. Even in the middle of my mess of a life.

Shutting the door, I locked it and crossed my arm. I put a foot up against the door and curled my lip.

“Are we ready for this?” I asked.

“Ready for what?” Stacey asked.

“Time to work shit out.”

“Fine,” Stacey said. “This is what I want from you…”

“No, not me,” I said. “You’ve caused too much shit in her life.”

I pointed to Violet.

“Me?” Violet asked.

“I’ve watched you shed tears over this mess. I missed out on months of taking care of you and loving you. That means months of you being confused, worried, and worse yet, ending up in a relationship with that fucking pecker. So now we settle this.”

“Settle this,” Stacey said. “What the…”

“What are you doing?” Violet asked.

I felt the tension in the room rising.

“You got to meet the wife,” I said, grinning. “Now it’s time to fight her.”
