His Lover's Vows: Mpreg Romance (My One-Night Stand Series Book 4) by Giovanna Reaves (6)

Chapter Six

Lucas was trying to pay attention to the meeting he was currently sitting in, but his mind kept wandering back to what Shannon had said the day before. He wasn’t in a relationship with anyone, but he also didn’t correct her in her assumption.

“It all sounds great, Daniel. What do you think, Lucas?”

He hadn’t heard one word said in the meeting but agreed with Tyler anyway, he could look at the minutes later.

“Okay, guys, we will regroup later after we’ve had some lunch,” Tyler said to them.

Lucas stood then grabbed his folder and tablet and headed back to his office. His mind was a million miles away as he thought about things and was surprised when his brother stopped him.

“Hey, are you all right?”

“Yeah.” He didn’t turn to look at Tyler because he knew his brother could read him like a book.

“Don’t forget we’re meeting Christen for lunch in a couple of days.”

He nodded and entered his office closing the door behind him and throwing his tablet on his desk, then walked to his window and stood there looking out. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he contemplated a few things. Closing his eyes, Lucas rested his head on the window glass.

What the fuck is wrong with me?

“You’re starting to feel again.” Cold fingers brushed against his cheeks. Shit, now I’m crazy. I’m hearing Rebecca while I’m fucking awake.

“Remember what you promised me, Luc, that you will give love a chance once you meet someone,” was said clearly.

Lucas snapped his eyes open and looked around his office, and he was alone just as he was a few seconds before. Shaking his head, Lucas sat at his desk looking over some of his notes. When his phone vibrated in his pocket, he reached in and grabbed it, and smirked when he saw that it was Tucker. “Hey, what’s up?”

“Is your offer still available for me to stay at your place the next time I’m in your neck of the woods?” Tucker’s voice was low, and his skin prickled just hearing him speak.

“Yeah, it is.”

“Great.”

“When are you going to be here and how long are you staying this time?” He was getting excited at the prospect of seeing Tucker again.

“Remember that meeting I was supposed to be in a couple of weeks ago and had to cancel because of work?”

“Yeah.”

“It’s been rescheduled for next week this time. I will be in New York for about a week, and I did promise to take you out the next time we met up, but instead we ate at my house. So, I owe you a dinner, and I still have your jacket.”

“My jacket is the least of my concerns. Just don’t tell me you’re going to cook for me.”

Tucker snorted. “Not if you want to spend time in the hospital, let's just leave the cooking to you, and allow me to take you out. I figure with our busy schedules it could be one of the nights I’m there. What do you think?”

Lucas chuckled. Tucker basically admitted that he burned water. “Sure, why not.” He felt giddy suddenly. “I can have Tyler and Ethan watch Zoi, and they owe me anyway for all my babysitting duty.”

“You don’t have to do that, I like spending time with Zoi, even if it took her some time to warm up to me.”

“I want to,” Lucas quickly added. “You’ll get to hang with her all week. It will be a night for just us.”

“All right, it’s a date. I’ll see you next week.”

“Yeah, that sounds great, see you then.” They hung up the phone. Lucas touched his lips and realized that he was smiling.

Wait, did Tucker just ask me out on a date?

* * *

Is it going to be a date or just two friends hanging out? Lucas asked himself that question over the past couple of days. Do I want it to be a date? Maybe I’m reading too much into a kind gesture.

He’d agreed to it without thinking, but the second he hung up the phone he couldn’t help wondering. They’d talked regularly and about everything under the sun and moon. He’d told Tucker things he couldn’t remember telling his brothers.

Lucas opened up about what he was going through after losing Rebecca, and it was good to talk to someone and not hearing the pity in their voice. Tucker understood where he was coming from since he lost his own wife. Lucas felt terrible that Tucker had lost his daughter, wife, and sister on the same day. He couldn’t imagine what his life would be like if he’d lost Zoi and Rebecca on the same day or even one of his brothers.

Lucas was also starting to realize that he was excited as a kid when he spoke to Tucker. He loved hearing his deep throaty laughter or the way he’d say Lucas’ name. He imagined the bright smile on Tucker’s face when he smiled or the way his eyes sparkled when he was trying to hold something back like he’d done many times over the weekend he’d practically kidnapped the other man.

Tucker was handsome in a way that most women would call roguish and sexy, not to mention the five-o’clock shadow he sported over the weekend had only added to his sex appeal. And his full lips looked soft and Lucas wondered just how kissable they were. His eyes widened at that thought.

Oh, shit. Can I really be attracted to Tucker? Wait! Is he even attracted to me? Oh, fuck, what the hell am I thinking? Tucker sees me as nothing but a friend. But do I want him to see me as more?

That last question stumped him, and he didn’t know how to answer it, really. The other night he’d practically rushed out of his parents’ home to be alone with the man.

* * *

“What’s your problem?” Tyler asked.

“Yeah, you have this look on your face like you're constipated,” Christen said to him. “Are you all right?” he asked worriedly.

“Ah, yeah, I’m fine,” he mumbled.

Christen had driven down to spend the day with him and Tyler for a brother bonding day they sometimes did. Since it was the weekend, Ethan was watching Zoi for him and Christen left the triplets home with Jaxson. Lucas looked at his two brothers who were both happy and married with children. When Christen came out to the family, he was a teenager, and soon after, Tyler told everyone he was bisexual. Lucas didn’t think or look at his brothers differently when they came out.

Am I bisexual? He didn’t think his family would look at him any differently, to him who you love is who you love.

Sure, same-sex couples was an acceptable part of society, but there were still assholes out there that had a problem with two men or two women being together. But there was one thing he’d wanted to ask his brothers. In a relationship between a man and woman, the man usually topped but when it came to two guys, who decided what. If he and Tucker ever got to or close to that kind of relationship could he let Tucker fuck him?

“Does Jaxson ever let you fuck him?” he asked Christen not pausing or taking the time to consider where they were. And then turned and looked at Tyler and asked, “What about you, do you let Ethan fuck you?”

Christen spit out the gulp of soda he’d just taken all over the table, and Tyler started choking on the bite of sandwich he’d just taken. Lucas reached over and started patting his brother’s back gently as he did with Zoi when she drank something too fast.

“Are you all right?” Tyler nodded. Lucas sat back down then leaned back in his chair and looked at his brothers waiting for their answers. They were both staring at him as if he’d lost his marbles. “What?” he asked.

“Don’t 'what' us, what kind of question is that?” Christen stage whispered.

“What the hell is going on with you?” Tyler asked. “Why the hell would you ask us something like that?”

“What the fuck do you mean by that?” Lucas looked between his brothers and wondered if he’d crossed the line or something. They’d always been close, and nothing was off-limits to them. “Fuck, you know what, forget I asked,” he said and got up, taking his trash with him before either of his brothers could stop him. If anything was going to happen between him and Tucker, he’d have to figure things out for himself.

* * *

“We’re versatile,” Tyler said, and Lucas looked away from the document he’d been staring at for the past ten or so minutes.

“What are you talking about?” Lucas asked him.

After walking out of the restaurant, he wasn’t in the right mind to pick up his daughter, feeling irritated he decided to get some work done and stopped by his office. After thinking about it, he realized he understood his brothers’ reaction. But he was curious and figured they were the best ones to ask. He also wondered how Tyler knew he was there but didn’t bother to ask.

“Ethan and I,” he said walking into Lucas’ office, sitting down in the chair in front of his desk. “Sometimes we like to switch things up even though Ethan likes being on the bottom. But there are times I need to feel him inside of me, to remind me that I’m his and he wants me just as much as I want him.”

“Thanks for telling me that,” Lucas told him. It was beautiful to hear that his brother was willing to submit to his husband out of need and not because he had to.

“My question for you is why?” Tyler said to him.

“Why what?”

“Why did you ask that question? And don’t give me one of your Lucas-isms,” Tyler said. “Just tell me the truth.”

“Lucas-isms, what the hell do you mean by that?”

“It’s what you do when you’re trying to beat around the bush,” Tyler told him.

“I don’t do that,” he defended.

“Yes, you do, you're trying to do it now. Answer my question. Why’d you want to know?”

“Honestly,” Lucas sighed and looked away from his brother. “I was curious.”

“Curiosity.” Tyler bit his bottom lip and stared at him. “Don’t get mad at me for asking this. But are you attracted to someone, and it is a man, and now you’re curious as to what sex with that person would be like?”

“Yeah, I am,” he answered truthfully.

Tyler was silent for a few minutes. “Have you guys done anything?”

“We haven’t done anything at all. Hell, I’m not even sure he has feelings for me, and I’m reading too much into things.”

“Maybe it’s nothing,” Tyler said then raised his hands in surrender when he saw the look on Lucas’ face. “Wait, let me explain.” Lucas nodded for his brother to continue. “You haven’t been out with anyone since Rebecca died and maybe what you’re feeling is the need for companionship. And whoever this guy is you’re putting your feelings on him.”

“What you’re saying is, I’m reading my own feelings wrong?” Lucas asked for clarification.

“Maybe. The only people you’ve been around the past two years are only family and business associates and your daughter. But I will say that if you’re starting to feel something for someone, it means you are ready to move on and be with someone and either way I’m happy for you.”

Lucas sighed and scrubbed his face, running his hands through his hair dislodging a few curls that fell into his face. “Are you saying I should forget what I’m feeling and start dating and see if what I feel for this person is real or rebound?” Tyler shrugged his shoulders. He leaned forward and steepled his fingers together. “It’s not.”

“It’s not what?”

“A rebound thing, there’s a connection between us, I can feel it, Ty.”

“If you think there’s something there, then go for it, but be careful, you’re my big bro, and I just want you happy no matter who it is.”

“Thanks, little bro,” Lucas said to him.

“All right, I’m heading home.” He stood to his feet and walked to the door then stopped. “If you need more time to sort things out, Ethan and I can keep Zoi a bit longer.”

He nodded. “Hey, do me a favor, keep this between us. I don’t know what’s going to happen between me and the other person, but I don’t want to give anyone false hope.”

“You got it,” Tyler said. “And can I give you another piece of advice?”

“Would it stop you if I said no?” Lucas asked.

“Nope.” Tyler smiled.

“Fine then, let me hear it, oh sage one.”

“Lube, use lots of lube—the first time hurts. I know what you're packing, we’re brothers after all. And unless your mystery man is packing something bigger, you’re going to need to invest in lube.”

Lucas' eyes widened at the thought, not out of fear but something else—anticipation, maybe. “Do you have any recommendations?” Lucas asked seriously.

“I’ll send you a list.” Tyler snickered as he walked out of Lucas’ office.

Get lube. I can do that.

* * *

“I’ve been meaning to ask you a couple of things,” Tucker said to Lucas who was sitting on the other side of the sofa.

Tucker had been staying with him for a couple of days, and they hadn't brought up the conversation about their date-non-date yet. They’d talked about everything but that, and maybe it really was simply two friends hanging out and having a good time. After his question to his brothers a few days earlier, Lucas had done a lot of thinking. He’d always been the kind of guy to go with the flow of things. If he and Tucker were attracted to each other, he would let things happen naturally.

No sense in worrying or fighting things if there wasn’t a need for it. He’d gone with his gut when he met Rebecca, and things turned out how it was supposed to. He missed his wife and he always would, she had a large part of his heart, and he wasn’t afraid to tell how he felt.

Zoi was excited to see her new friend and hardly left his side. Tucker didn’t seem to mind having her around. She had him wrapped around her little finger, and he seemed to want to cater to Zoi’s every whim. She wouldn’t go to bed unless Tucker was there to tuck her in and kiss her good night. Last night wasn’t such a good night, and Zoi had refused to go to sleep until Tucker got home. Lucas had no idea how his daughter had gotten so attached to the other man so quickly.

He’d called Tucker on his cell while praying he hadn’t interrupted anything too important. It was a good thing Tucker was already on his way home, and within minutes of him walking through the door, Zoi had finally fallen to asleep. Lucas wondered if Zoi reminded Tucker of his daughter, he saw the sad looks in his eyes sometimes when he’d look at her.

“Yeah, what’s that?” he finally asked.

“What made you decide to be a part of the Seekers organization?”

Lucas sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. “Two reasons, one is more of a selfish reason than the other, really.”

“And they are?” Tucker asked turning in the chair to face him, resting his ankle on his other knee. His legs were open a bit, and Lucas' mind wandered if Tucker was wearing underwear under his sweats.

“I wanted to be a hero or be seen as one, at least. That’s the selfish reason,” he said clearing his throat. He’d never told anyone that before, not even Rebecca. “And the other, I really wanted to save people, you know? When my dad approached Tyler and me with the idea, I was all for it. Not only was he an agent, he’d been with them since the beginning, and I had no idea. I had always seen my dad as a superhero, and now that I knew he really was. I couldn’t pass it up.”

Tucker was silent and stared at him, and for the first time in his life, he felt nervous as if he’d said something wrong. But he told the truth, and in part was trying to impress the man sitting next to him.

“You are pretty awesome, you know that right,” Tucker said to him. “Everyone wants to be a hero, Lucas. It’s not a selfish reason at all. Fuck, it’s partly why I joined the FBI or why some guys become cops, firefighters, or even joined the military. But they never admit their reasons. I admire your honesty.”

“Thank you,” Lucas said ducking his head hoping to hide the blush he knew was plastered all over his face.

“I’m only telling you the truth,” he said. “Hey, look at me.”

Lucas raised his head, and his eyes connected with Tucker’s and what he saw scared and excited him at the same time.

“We all have to be selfish sometimes, there’s nothing wrong with that,” he whispered, his eyes seemed to be boring into his soul.

Lucas felt as if the words were lightly coursing over his skin and he shivered hoping Tucker didn’t notice. He looked away to reel in his thoughts and emotions. Maybe he really was reading into things, and nothing was happening between them. And the crazy thing was he was afraid to ask if Tucker was feeling the vibes between them the way he was. Movement beside him caused him to turn his head to see Tucker sitting on the edge of the couch with his elbows on his knees.

“What’s the second thing?” he asked not looking at Tucker. He was feeling something and needed to change the subject.

“Where did you get the scar?”

He leaned back and looked at Tucker. “What scar?”

Tucker didn’t answer he simply reached over and traced a line starting from his lower stomach to the front. He held back a gasp feeling Tucker’s finger softly stroking the line on his stomach. “This one.”

His words were so low Lucas almost missed what he said, his finger tenderly grazing over a scar he’d somehow forgotten he had until that moment. Tucker looked up at him but didn’t remove his finger nor did Lucas ask him to. “I got shot a couple years ago on a case.”

“I’m sorry,” he whispered.

Lucas licked his lips, the words washing over him, and knew Tucker meant it even if he wasn’t the one that caused him harm. “It wasn’t your fault. Want to know what’s crazy?”

“What?”

“This scar covered a smaller one that I had since I was a kid.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah,” Lucas answered.

They were silent for a few long seconds gazing at each other. Lucas felt heat and arousal churning inside of him. Tucker blinked quickly and snapped his hand away as if realizing what he was doing and stood to his feet.

“I think I should go,” he said rubbing the back of his neck.

“Wh-what, why?” Lucas asked shocked, wondering if Tucker felt his attraction towards him.

“I just think it would be better if I did,” Tucker said getting up and walking by him.

Thinking quickly, Lucas grabbed Tucker's arm stopping him from getting too far. “Look, if I said or did something to make you want to leave just tell me and let me apologize for it. Christen and Tyler keep telling me I don’t have a filter and I’d have to agree with them.” Lucas knew he was babbling, but he really didn’t want Tucker to leave. “I—”

Tucker stopped him from saying any more by placing his thumb on his lips. “You didn’t do anything wrong,” he said in a deep husky tone that only added to Lucas’ attraction towards him. “I’m acting like an idiot.” He sighed and took a large step back, and his finger fell from Lucas’ mouth, much to his disappointment.

“Does that mean you’re staying?” Lucas asked hopefully.

“Yeah,” he said with a smile. “I still owe you dinner.”

“You do, and I plan on ordering the most expensive thing on the menu,” he joked.

“Remind me who’s the millionaire again?” Tucker chuckled. “Maybe I should let you pay instead.”

Whatever tension entered the atmosphere slowly dissipated, and neither was willing to talk about it.

“Okay, I’m going to bed, I have an early meeting in the morning and Zoi is not going to like it,” Lucas said walking over to the couch and got the remote, turning off the TV they’d stopped watching a long time ago.

“Yeah, I do as well,” Tucker said.

Neither one of them made a move to leave, they were still standing there gazing at eat other, and Lucas was begging for Tucker to take the lead and do something to let him know that he was feeling the current flowing between them. As if hearing his thoughts, Tucker stepped to the side of him and rested a hand on his shoulder.

“Good night,” he whispered, his breath ghosting over Lucas’ ear.

His body instantly reacted, and his cock hardened. He was glad that Tucker couldn’t see his lower body from where he was standing. Lucas simply nodded, unable to speak. He stood there for a few minutes after Tucker had gone upstairs and had closed his room door, only then was he able to look down at his still hard dick.

Okay, so now that I know for sure that I want Tucker. Now, what the fuck am I going to do about it?

* * *

Tucker paced the length of the guest bedroom wondering if he did the right thing by not leaving. He wasn’t doing a good job hiding his attraction to Lucas. There were so many times earlier that night he wanted to throw Lucas down on the couch and kiss the hell out of him. Sitting on the edge of the bed for a second before standing again, Tucker couldn't decide what to do.

“Maybe I should go and apologize for being an idiot?”

No, you just want to see him again, whispered his thoughts, or he hoped it was.

He walked over to the window and looked out trying to gain perspective on everything he was feeling. Leaning his forehead against the window pane, Tucker came to the realization since he and Lucas became friends, he’d stopped feeling lonely. He still missed Rochelle, but Lucas filled a huge void in his life. He didn’t know what would happen if he’d done something to hurt their friendship. Making up his mind, Tucker stood and exited the guest bedroom, quietly taking the short steps to Lucas’ room.

He knew the other man was awake, since spending a couple of days with him he’d realized Lucas liked to spend a few minutes doing paperwork or reading. Which was why he wasn't shocked to see the light on in the other man’s bedroom or the door cracked just a little in case Zoi woke up in the middle of the night. What surprised him was the deep moan he heard coming from Lucas’ room. He was about to turn around and walk back to his room when he heard a whisper of what sounded like his name.

Knowing he shouldn’t, Tucker took a closer step and peeked through the cracked door. He held back his gasp not wanting to alert the other man to his presence. Lucas had the sheets and blankets thrown to the side, giving Tucker a perfect view of his body. Creamy, smooth, soft-looking skin that probably tasted like the sweetest cream. Lucas had one hand firmly gripped around his cock sliding it up and down circling the head with his thumb. His other hand was between his legs gripping his balls or, Tucker could only hope, fingering his ass.

Even though he knew it was wrong, his cock jerked with interest. He reached up and tweaked his nipple. Pinching the head of his cock with his other hand, he was surprised to feel the wetness on the front of his sweats. He was more than interested. He wanted Lucas, a thought that should scare the shit out of him but didn't. He continued to watch Lucas as he started to fuck his hand putting on a show as if knowing that Tucker was looking at him. His sweet moans became louder just as his hips picked up a rhythm.

Tucker caressed his cock through his sweats, moving in tandem with Lucas' hand. He quietly rested his forehead on the edge of the wall, never taking his eyes off Lucas, needing to see the man cum. He bit his bottom lip holding back his grunts, feeling the rough fabric glide over the sensitive head of his cock. His balls tightened but he didn't want to cum yet but he knew it was unavoidable, not when Lucas grunted his name as cum shot out of his cock and landed on his stomach.

Fuck! Tucker screamed in his head soaking the front of his sweats with cum. That had never happened to him before. His body had never reacted to anyone like that, not even Rochelle. He stepped away from the door, putting his back to the wall when he heard Lucas shifting on the bed.

Closing his eyes, he prayed the other man hadn't seen him, he wouldn't have been able to explain why he had cum soaking the front of his pants. Once he heard the water in the bathroom, he walked back to his room to change and prayed he would get a good night’s sleep and not wonder how he was going to face Lucas in the morning after hearing him cum with his name on his lips.

* * *

Tucker arrived at the place where Lucas wanted him to go. It was their last night together and he wanted everything to go perfectly for them. He looked over at his passenger who seemed so excited he was bursting out of his skin.

“Are you sure about this? This is where you want me to take you?”

“Yes,” Lucas said grinning, rubbing his hands together. “Come on, it's going to be fun.”

Fuck, if only he knows how adorable he looks right now. “But a theme park?”

“Seriously, Tuck, you’re being a Debbie Downer.”

Tucker groaned and leaned back. He certainly wasn’t trying to bring Lucas down, but this was not what he envisioned for their dinner date. He’d made reservations at the fanciest and most expensive restaurant trying to impress the other man only to have Lucas tell him that he wanted to do something low-key and fun. It didn’t help his case that all day at headquarters all he could think about was Lucas jerking off. He’d hardly slept the night before, he’d purposely gone into the office early to avoid seeing Lucas and sent him a text message about meeting for dinner.

“Stop being an adult for once,” Lucas said beside him.

He turned and looked at Lucas who was vibrating with a childish energy. It’s a wonder he’s keeping himself still. “We could have brought Zoi with us.”

“Nope, this is for us, I want to drink beer and ride the scariest roller coaster so that I can scream my head off.”

He stared at him, and he realized the energy that he felt coming off him was Lucas finally being able to let go and not worry about anything for a bit. Tucker figured he could at least give that to Lucas.

“All right, let’s go.” Tucker sighed and turned off the car before getting out and tucked his keys in his pockets. Lucas whooped as he got out of the car.

“My brothers and I used to come here a lot growing up, and it’s been a while.” Lucas joined him in front of the car, and they started walking towards the beach.

“Okay, since this was your idea, I’ll let you take the lead. I'm giving you full control, tonight,” Tucker told him.

“Are you sure you want to give me full control?” Lucas looked at him, and Tucker couldn’t help but wonder if there was a hidden meaning behind the question.

Tucker licked his suddenly dry lips and smiled. “As long as you’re gentle with me, I’ll let you have all the control you want.”

Lucas smiled, and his green eyes sparkled with mischief. “It depends on your definition of gentle.”

Tucker stumbled on his next step but recovered quickly hearing Lucas' chuckle as he walked ahead of him. His eyes were eating up Lucas’ jean-clad legs and praying to the gods he didn’t embarrass himself again.

The rest of the night progressed smoothly, and Tucker secretly admitted he was having fun. They’d gone on all the death-defying rides that Lucas dragged him on. He ate fully loaded hot dogs and drank a couple of beers. Tucker had switched to drinking water after his first drink. Theme park dinner wasn’t what he had in mind, but to see and hear Lucas’ boisterous laughter filled him with more joy than he’d thought possible.

“You know what I realize about you?” Lucas asked him.

Tucker looked over at him. Lucas wore a happy grin on his face and was probably smashed. “What’s that?”

“You’re not much of a talker,” he said. “I thought you were just like that with strangers, but I think that’s what I like about you. You, Tucker, make me feel comfortable to be myself.”

“I doubt you could be anything but yourself.” He smiled when Lucas snorted. Lucas stopped walking causing Tucker to do the same and stood in front of him, staring in his face. “See something you like?” he asked raising an eyebrow.

“I do,” Lucas mumbled and stepped closer.

Tucker sucked in a breath, holding it and waited to see what the other man was going to do. Lucas reached up with one hand to touch his face and then put his hand back down to his side as if realizing what he was about to do. Lucas cleared his throat and took a step back.

“Come, I want to get on two more rides before we head home for the night,” he said turning around and started walking towards the boardwalk. Tucker couldn’t move. What was he going to do? Tucker didn’t know, but he knew for sure that whatever Lucas wanted he would have given it to him.
