Hunter (The Bad Disciples MC Book 2) by Savannah Rylan (20)

CHAPTER 20

Hunter

We parked a little distance from the Bird; Glock, Gunner and I.

“His bike is out there,” Glock pointed it out and I followed his finger to where Scar’s shitty fucking bike was parked. We all had been trained very early on in identifying bikes from rival clubs so that we could always be on the alert. And Scar’s was distinct because of how poorly maintained it was.

“Good. I wasn’t sure he would be here. Kylie had gone to his house,” I said, keeping a keen eye on the door of the bar. We could hear loud music playing inside and drunk voices soaring in the air.

“He must have stumbled over to the bar right after,” Glock said and Gunner grunted a response.

“We should wait out here. He’ll stumble back out at some point and let’s hope he’s alone,” Gunner added and we stood there in silence, still a little distance away, using the light of the streetlamp as guidance. Other than the noises coming from the bar, it was quiet here.

“So, Kylie?” Glock began by saying and I grunted, hoping that he would stop talking now. Gunner was not interfering, he kept his eyes on the door.

“Yeah, what about her?” I said, feeling for the gun I had stuffed in my belt. I could sense Glock smiling even without looking at him.

“Big jugs?” he asked and I turned to him and squared my shoulders. Glock laughed and then thumped my shoulder.

“Don’t tell me you’re going to turn into another Gunner here,” he continued and I rolled my eyes at him. Gunner and I exchanged looks and I saw that he was grinning, almost a ‘welcome to the club’ grin.

“I just met her,” I offered, aware that Glock wouldn’t shut up unless I gave him something.

“The question remains, does she have big knockers?” Glock said and I clenched my jaw at him. He was laughing by himself and I didn’t find it funny. Now I could see why Gunner never joined in with the guys discussing Brooklyn.

“Keep her out of this. She doesn’t concern you,” I snapped at Glock, slightly annoyed with myself that I had even asked him to come here. I should have just asked him to stand guard at my door instead of Tank. Glock slapped my shoulder again and pressed his hand to his belly, just like Carter had done. He was a man-child.

“You’re more than just banging her, man, you have the feels,” he said in a shrill voice and whistled. I grabbed Glock by his collar and yanked him close to my face but Gunner patted my shoulder.

“Break it up guys, and Hunter, just don’t let it get to you. That’s the only way I deal with it,” he said, passing a stern stare at Glock who was still grinning.

We heard the door of the bar squeak open and just like Gunner had predicted, we saw Scar’s silhouette stumbling out of the bar in front of us. He was humming a tune badly, as he made his way swingingly down the steps of the bar’s porch. Thankfully he was alone.

I charged towards him, not turning to see if Gunner or Glock were following me too.

Scar was doubled over now as I approached him, and just as he sensed that someone was coming for him, I grabbed him by his collar and began pulling him away from the bar. I reached into his leather jacket and swiftly grabbed his gun, before he even had a chance to reach for it.

Scar was struggling and he was a big man, but the alcohol had affected his strength and his struggles were futile. Besides, something animalistic had taken a hold of me. Once I saw him and now that I knew what he had to Kylie, there was no stopping me.

Scar was roaring and Gunner and Glock were following me as I dragged him in the dark behind the bar. His voice was drowned out by the loud sounds of the bar, so none of his fucking friends could hear him.

When I let him go, he stumbled away from me but he was cornered in the alleyway. Glock and Gunner were standing by my side, blocking all his escape routes. He was hissing and snarling like a caged animal, his nostrils were flared and even in the darkness of the alleyway, I could see that his eyes were bloodshot. The more I looked at him, the more furious I was that he had dared to ever touch Kylie. That he was Carter’s dad!

“Fuck off you fucking Bad Disciple bastards!” he hollered and I stepped towards him, my boots crunching the gravel underneath my shoes. I had my hands clasped together in front of me, and I was glaring at him from head to toe. What had Kylie ever seen in this loser?

“You lay another hand on Kylie or Carter and you’ll be lying dead in a ditch somewhere,” I said, in as low a growl as I could manage. For a moment, there was confusion in Scar’s eyes and he stared at me, trying to figure out what I was saying. I could sense that he was completely drunk out of his mind, and I wondered if we shouldn’t have waited for him to get sober first. But then, Scar was never sober. He lived his life in a drunken haze.

“You know Kylie? You banging her?” he asked, in an almost comical tone.

“Stay away from her,” I snarled and Scar threw his head back and laughed.

“Did she go running to her new boyfriend, complaining of a scratch?” he said and I took a step forward and punched. It had taken Scar by surprise and his head jerked back, hitting against the cement wall behind him. When he straightened himself, I saw that there was blood rolling down his nose. But the crazy motherfucker was still smiling.

“Did you put a band aid on her booboo? Did she cry on your shoulder? Did she say she wants to sit down and talk about it?” he said, in a childish whining voice.

“You split her lip open you motherfucker!” I barked and I punched him again. This time too, Scar wasn’t prepared. He staggered backwards, grunting as my knuckle hit his nose. He sniffed deeply, the bottom half of his face was covered with blood.

“I don’t have to explain myself to you,” he yelled and I grabbed his collar with both hands, yanking him to me again.

“You punched her in the jaw. You punched a woman!” I was hissing into his face, while he looked back at me with lazy dim eyes. I noticed then where Carter got his eyes and hair from, and I twisted my hold on his collar, forming a noose around the asshole’s neck.

“She deserved every blow and I’ll punch her again. She has my son!” he yelled and I socked him again, this time getting his eye and he whelped. I heard Glock clear his throat behind me. He was trying to warn me to not take it too far, but I didn’t care. At this point I didn’t care if this fucking started a war between our Clubs. I was going to make sure that this guy never came anywhere close to Kylie again.

“Stay away from her and her son. You don’t deserve that kid you fucking piece of shit!” I growled and socked his other eye. Scar’s head banged off the wall again and this time his whelp was more painful. I could sense that I was getting close to breaking him.

He had blood pouring down his nose, his lips, from the cuts around his eyes and I punched him again. This time I released my grip on his shirt and Scar fell staggering to the ground.

“Fuck you BD asshole,” I heard him mutter from the ground and I kicked him. He whelped, his body jumping when my foot found his stomach. Glock was clearing his throat again.

“Say it one more time bastard,” I challenged him, my foot poised for his head now.

“Fuck…” he began to say and this time I kicked him in his ribs. Scar fell on his side, his head bouncing off the concrete ground and he curled himself in a ball. His face wasn’t even recognizable anymore.

“Say. It. Again.” I said, in a softer, calmer voice. This was the only way I could get all the rage out of my system. It had to be this way.

Scar had his eyes pressed close now, he was clutching his stomach tightly and I wondered if he was going to throw up. I pulled my leg back and was about to kick him in the face when he spoke up.

“Okay. Okay. I won’t do it,” he held his hands up.

I crouched down to the ground to his level and brought my face close to his. I could smell the blood off his body. This guy wasn’t going to be able to walk for weeks.

“You won’t do what?” I said and he spluttered, blood gushing down his mouth.

“I…I won’t touch her,” he managed to say and I caught hold of his oily disgusting hair which was in a ponytail and I yanked his head towards me again. He yelped in fright and pain.

“Or Carter. You will stay away from them or you’re dead. I feel generous tonight. Feel like giving you lousy sonofabitch a second chance,” I growled and Scar was already whimpering. I wished Kylie could see him like this right now. She would know then that this guy would never be able to hurt her. That I had really taken care of it.

“Yes yes. I’ll stay away from them. I won’t go near them,” he had his hands held up, palms facing forward in defeat. I thought I even heard some bones crackling every time he moved.

“Good,” I said and straightened myself up, and then kicked him again, just because I could.

“Let’s get outta here, Hunter,” I heard Gunner say behind me and I turned to my brothers and smiled.

“See, I was well behaved,” I said and we walked away from there. We could hear Scar howling, calling for help but I knew it wouldn’t be for several hours before someone actually found him. The Dragon Knights were too drunk to notice or hear him, and maybe even if they found him they wouldn’t care. Scar was a useless piece of shit and everyone knew that.

Gunner, Glock and I walked towards our bikes and started putting our helmets on.

“Is it just me or do we keep pissing the Dragon Knights off?” Glock said with a laugh and the three of us exchanged bemused looks.

“It’s coming though. Their revenge is not going to be too far now,” Gunner said as he strapped on his helmet.

“We’ll be prepared,” I said as I swung my leg over my bike. With a nod of my head to both men, I sped off into the night to get back to Kylie and Carter.

As I rode I could hear the crunch of my boots on the gravel, the feel of Scar’s jaw on my knuckles, the sound of a cracking rib, his whelps of pain and his pleading. I had enjoyed every second of it. I had pictured Kylie’s split lip, her bruised jaw, the wild fear in her eyes and it had fueled me to keep punching. To make sure that he was reduced to the ground, that he couldn’t get up or walk.

I had made sure that I knocked the haze of alcohol right out of him. He had been completely alert and aware of everything that was happening to him and he was going to remember it for the rest of his life.

And I knew Scar was too much of a pussy to ever come near Kylie or Carter again. No matter how much the Dragon Knights wanted to challenge me, Scar was going to disappear. And if he didn’t, I’d be ready and waiting for him.
