Paradise Syndrome (Cate & Kian Book 4) by Louise Hall (30)

CHAPTER 30

“Mm, Jake Moloney,” Cate snuggled even deeper under the thick duvet, wanting to hold onto the last remnants of her lovely dream for as long as possible.

She heard a low growl and when she looked across at Kian, he was frowning. “Please tell me you didn’t just wake up thinking about another man?”

Cate giggled, wrapping her calf over his muscular thigh so she could pull him closer. The rough hair on his leg scratched deliciously against her soft skin. “Happy anniversary.”

Kian slid Cate underneath him and pinned her wrists to the mattress above her head. “You haven’t answered my question,” he grunted.

Cate shifted her hips restlessly; she could feel the urgent thrust of his manhood against her hip. “What question was that?”

Kian pushed up her t-shirt, exposing her breasts. They were swollen with milk. “I need to pump again,” Cate blushed.

“Are you sure you want to tease me, angel?” Kian’s breath fanned out across her tender nipple.

“Ah,” her back arched up off the mattress as she felt the velvet warmth of Kian’s tongue against her skin.

“I wasn’t…” Cate could hardly breathe. “I wasn’t thinking about Jake.”

“You said his name.”

Kian scratched his nails lightly down her belly to the waistband of her panties.

“I know but…” his fingers dipped lower, tantalisingly close to the top of her cleft. “I was thinking about our first kiss.”

Kian cupped her mound, brushing his thumb through the whorls of black hair. “I want you,” Cate wriggled, trying to get the friction she so desperately needed.

Kian teased her some more. “Where do you want me, angel?”

He parted her slick folds; she was dripping wet. As the tip of his finger rimmed her tight entrance, Cate cried out, “inside me.”

“What do you want?” Kian teased. “My finger?” He pushed his finger a little deeper. Cate shook her head. “You’re going to have to tell me what you want.”

“I want…”

Kian dragged his tongue over her nipple again. “Do you want my tongue, sweetheart?”

Cate shook her head; she could feel him hard and heavy against her hip. “Cock.”

Kian knelt back on his heels. It was the sexiest, fucking thing making his sweet, innocent wife talk dirty. He wrapped a hand around his thick shaft. “You want this?”

“Yes.” In front of him, Cate parted her legs wide, giving him a perfect view of her soaked pussy. “Now.”

Kian grabbed a condom from the bedside table and rolled it down his shaft. He settled between his wife’s slender legs and pushed his fingers through her inky-black hair; his nails scraping deliciously against her scalp. As his lips brushed against hers, he slid a hand underneath her bottom and thrust inside her silken warmth. “Mm,” Kian swallowed her cries as they moved effortlessly together. Cate brought her trembling thighs up around his waist; he could feel her clenching so tightly around his cock.

She slid a hand down the rippling muscles of his back until she was pushing against his clenched buttocks, trying to take him as deep inside her as possible. Kian tilted her hips and “oh!” She felt that delicious twinge of pain as the blunt head of his cock pushed up against her cervix. She was so close; she reached up and gripped the headboard with both hands. As she arched her back, rubbing her swollen breasts against his muscular chest, she felt the orgasm swell and throb in the pit of her belly. “I’m going to…”

Kian trailed hot, open-mouthed kisses down her neck. “Kian,” Cate cried hoarsely; her eyes squeezed tightly shut, her mouth in a perfect o-shape. He felt her pussy spasm violently around his jutting cock. He grabbed her hips and pinned them to the mattress, his fingers digging so deeply into her tender flesh he was sure that she’d have bruises afterwards.

Afterwards, he reluctantly dragged himself out of bed to get rid of the condom – he couldn’t wait until he’d had the vasectomy and they could stop using these fucking things.

When he came back to the bedroom, Cate was stood by the dresser, pulling her panties up her legs.

“What the fuck are you doing?”

“I need to go for a run,” Cate giggled, seeing his horrified expression.

“If you think you can still go for a run after what we just did,” Kian raised an eyebrow, “then we obviously haven’t finished yet.”

Cate rolled her eyes, “I won’t be too long.” She fastened her bra across her swollen breasts. “I’ll pump again when I get back but there are still a couple of bottles of milk in the fridge.”

As she ran up Cooper Lane, Cate brought her thick woollen scarf up over her nose and mouth. The bitterly cold air was stinging her lungs with each punishing breath. When she got to the top, she saw the Black Horse pub shrouded in darkness. She couldn’t pass the benches at the front of the pub without thinking about the day she’d given birth to Lola. It was a reminder that she needed to drop off Wilf and Thelma’s Christmas presents this afternoon.

An hour later, as she ran across the snowy fields towards the house, she could hear laughter coming from the back garden.

“What’s going on?” Cate asked, sweaty and out of breath.

“We’re making a snowman,” Lola giggled. She was helping Mateo and Oliver roll up a big, ball of snow to make the snowman’s head.

“Hey angel,” Kian was smoothing out the body. “Did you have a good run?”

“Mm,” Cate nodded, she brushed her lips across the day-old stubble on his jawline.

Sierra in her padded snowsuit was cradled in the sling across his body. “Are you enjoying the snow, baby girl?” Cate grinned, stroking her daughter’s soft cheek.

Sierra responded by blowing raspberries at her mum.

“Daddy, we’re making a snowman,” Oliver ran to Ben.

Ben scooped him up. “I thought you could use this for his nose, buddy,” he reached into the pocket of his thick coat and pulled out a carrot. “What do you think?”

“Have you ever made snow angels?” Cate asked after they’d finished making the snowman and taken lots of photos.

“You need to lie down,” Cate said when they found some undisturbed snow. “Then you wave your arms and kick your legs like this.” Lola, Mateo and Oliver copied her.

“I want to make snow angels,” Liv yelped, when she found them at the far side of the garden. “By the way that snowman looks amazing, you guys.” She turned to Jax, “baby, can you hold my handbag?”

Jax knelt down next to Mateo, “I think this belongs to you, little man.” He handed Mateo the toy ferry boat and the little boy’s face lit up. “Boat!” he cried, waving it in the air.

Liv flung herself backwards into the fresh snow and waved her arms and legs. “I love this.”

“Auntie Liv,” Lola giggled. “Aren’t you a bit old to be making snow angels?”

“The cheek,” Liv pushed herself up on her elbows, pretending to be offended. “You are never too old to make snow angels, Lotus Flower.”

As they all trudged back towards the house, ravenously hungry and covered in snow, Cate lagged behind so she could talk to Ben privately. “How’s Erin today?”

Ben shrugged, “she’s asleep.” He rubbed his hand over his face, “last night was rough.”

After bacon sandwiches (Cate’s was soya) and huge, steaming mugs of hot chocolate, Liv and Jax went upstairs for a nap – they were staying with Cate and Kian over the holidays. Ben took Oliver home to be with Erin.

Cate had a hot shower and while she was there, she had a very naughty idea. Although it was their anniversary, it was also Christmas Eve and they usually spent the evening at her mum’s house. Using the excuse that Sierra was too little to be out so late, Cate decided that tonight they were going to stay home. She didn’t feel too guilty about missing the festivities; they were having Christmas dinner at her mum’s house tomorrow anyway.

“Does it feel weird?” Cate asked Kian a little while later as they walked up Cooper Lane to the Black Horse pub. “You know, not playing matches over Christmas?”

“Maybe a little,” Kian admitted.

When they got to the pub, Thelma fussed over Sierra. “She’s beautiful, Cate,” Thelma cooed, “just like her mum.”

“Hey,” Kian protested, “what about her dad?”

Thelma winked at him, “you’ll do.”

“I’ve been thinking…” Cate said to Kian as they walked back from the pub. “I don’t think we should go to Mum’s party tonight. I don’t want Sierra being out that late.”

Kian shrugged, “it makes sense, I guess.” He wrapped an arm around Cate’s waist, “although I was quite looking forward to getting you under that mistletoe again.”

“Ew,” Lola frowned, “stop making kissy faces. We’re in public.”
