Rax (Rathier Warriors) (A Sci Fi Alien Abduction Romance) by Maia Starr (8)

Chapter 8

Dr. Zina Smith

I gazed up at the sky, my heart tight in my chest. I had never seen anything like this before. About 30 giant spacecrafts were hovering over the surface of the small, rocky planet that I had been deposited onto. Around me were about 30 other human women, none of whom I recognized. They must have been abducted from different areas in the universe, most likely Earth.

They all whimpered and shouted as the lasers started to go off. I had the strange feeling that I was watching a firework show, and gazed at it, with a disembodied sense of just how beautiful the lights were.

“What the hell is going on up there?” One of the humans beside me exclaimed, her voice control and terrified.

“I don’t know, but it looks like something terrible is about to happen.”

“No, those are Raither ships. I think that it’s a good thing,” I managed to say.

“Oh, okay, but what is a Raither?”

I was too distracted to reply as I locked eyes on the ship that appeared to be in the lead. It had been the first to fire off its lasers, and some part of me knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this was the ship that Rax was sitting in.

I could almost see him, in his commander seat, shouting orders and taking the lead. It was an incredible feeling, knowing that he was out there, trying to protect me. Even if I didn’t know it for sure, there was something in my heart that told me it was so.

“Well I hope that whomever they are, they are willing to take us back to Earth,” one of the other humans said, her voice as even as it possibly could be. “We don’t belong out here. There’s no way that any of us can ever get along with one of these aliens.”

I felt a twinge of guilt and embarrassment as I thought about just how well I had gotten along with one of these aliens. In fact, I have gotten along with him far better than I had ever gotten along with anybody else in my entire life. But none of these women needed to know any of that.

“As long as they are willing to get us off of this planet,  I don’t care what happens,” I said, carefully avoiding the subject.

“Yeah, did you know what they were going to do with us?”

I frowned, and shook my head. “No, what were they going to do?”

“Well, apparently, they had already tried breeding themselves with human, and that failed miserably.” “Oh yeah, I was there for that part. She was taken away, and when she came back, we found out that the guy who tried to be with her actually dropped dead right then and there. It was actually pretty horrifying. At least that’s what she told us.”

The other women around me gasped and all turned towards me.  “You were one of the original women, weren’t you?” The first woman who had spoken asked me, her voice hushed in disbelief.

“Yes, I said. “It’s not quite as glamorous as it might sound,” I said.

A small tinkle of laughter brightened up the area around me, only to be cut off by the loud, imposing sound of another laser being shot. This one made contact, race started to ignite.

“You were one of the scientists then, right?” The first woman said, trying to do her best to distract us all from the terrifying war that was going on around us.

“Yes, I was,” I said. I felt a small twinge of pride, and realized suddenly just how strange it was that I was with a group of humans and actually communicating with them. They had been such a long time since I had spoken to anybody of my own race. Now, I was surrounded by them, and all of us were equally afraid. It wasn’t exactly a great comfort, but at least it was a way to pass the time.

“So, you really think that these guys would be willing to take us to earth?”

“Well, none of you were involved with the original team, so you are probably free to go. But I don’t think that they’re going to let me go back.”

Truthfully, I wasn’t sure at this point that I wanted to go back. What would happen if I did? I would probably never see Rax again. The thought was enough to make my blood run cold.

“Oh, don’t worry. We can sneak you on. We can find a way to make it work. We’ll get you home.”

The sudden chatter of several human voices filled the air, leaving me feeling both overwhelmed and bizarrely loved. It was nice to be around people who actually cared about my well-being, but it was also a little bit strange, considering the last person who cared about me to this extent was probably in one of those ships right that moment, fighting for me with his life on the line. How could anybody ever top that? And why would I ever want to go back to Earth when I could be with somebody who is willing to make that kind of a sacrifice for me? Nothing else could ever possibly compare.

Another loud explosion silenced us all, and we watched in horror as a ship, a Raither one this time, was struck by the terrifying laser. Debris was falling down from the sky and into the planet’s atmosphere, and we all took cover, hiding underneath a small shelter that had been constructed for us in the weird pen that they had rounded us all up into.

It was impossible to express just how terrifying watching this battle was. My heart was in my throat every time I looked up into the sky in search of the ship that I knew that Rax was in. I knew because it was the most important ship. It was the largest, and it was the most powerful, and that was the kind of man that Rax was. He was a Raither who was strong and powerful and determined. He was the kind of man who got things done. No matter how difficult it might have seemed, he worked his hardest so that he would succeed.

And not only that, but I knew that he cared about me. I knew that he was willing to do whatever he could to make sure that I was safe. Even if that meant leading an army to the planet where I was captured.

The war lasted three days and half the last night, and before long, we had gotten used to the commotion. I kept a watchful eye in the sky, trying to make sure that no matter what happened, Rax was going to be okay. There were a few close calls, and a lot of shouts and cries of fear and concern from the women around me, but the longer we watched, the more convinced I became that we were going to make it out of this alive, and Rax was going to help us to get home as quickly as possible.

Finally, a large rumble filled the air, and then quickly began to shake the earth beneath our feet as well. A blaring alarm siren went off, causing many of the already frightened women to fall to the ground and cover their heads in terror. But I had an idea of what this meant. It meant that there was going to be no escape this time. They were losing the war, and they were going to lose us to the Raithers as well.

“What’s happening?” The woman beside me wailed.

“We are going to get out of this alive,” I said, gripping her hand in mine.

“I hope so,” she said.

I pursed my lips, turning my eyes back toward the sky. Everything was chaos. It was full of clouds and smoke and strange little bursts of light. Suddenly, a large craft descended  from the sky, landing in front of the small prison that had been constructed by the terrifying race that had abducted us.

I almost didn’t dare to believe my eyes when I saw that Rax was walking toward me, his shirt torn, and his left leg dragging a little bit behind him.

“We’re safe,” I shouted. “We’re safe.”

“Come on, Zina. We have to get out of here. The rest of the Raither ships will take care of these humans. But for now, let us just get out of here. I need to make sure that you are all right.”

He embraced me tightly, and I could feel the curious and crying eyes of all of the women behind me watching us. I probably should have admitted to them the truth, that I was in love with the Raither, but they never would have understood. But now, seeing it for themselves, they were a lot more likely to accept the fact.

“Please,” I said, turning to them as Rax led me away. “Please let everybody on the planet know that Dr. Zina Smith is still alive.

“We will and be safe.”

I walked away from the group of humans, feeling a strange tingling elation in my chest. I had been so afraid that Rax was not going to survive the night. I thought for sure that both of us were going to be killed. But somehow, they had pulled through, and now we were on our way back to Rax’s home planet, where he had some business to settle.

“How could you have ever possibly let this human out of your sight?” Rax demanded.

“But it’s not like she died or anything,” the Emperor’s son said, shrinking away from Rax and his accusing glare.

I was standing against the wall, pressed tightly against it in fear. Things had been nothing but chaotic ever since we had arrived at the palace, and Rax had dragged me in to where the Emperor had his meetings.

“I’m not going to tolerate this any longer. I’ve already spoken to my men, and I want you to know that they are my men now. They do not have a loyalty to you and to your claims. Your power means nothing to them. They are going to do what they feel compelled to do. They’re going to serve the leader that represents them and them alone. Do you understand what that means?”

The Emperor gaped at Rax, who returned his look with an icy glare.

“You know that I am right. You know that there has been an uprising in the works for a long time now. And you guys just sealed the deal. You let the girl go. You did nothing to protect her. And everybody knows about it. Everybody saw what a claim truly means to you. And everybody knows that you are greedy and selfish and spoiled and unkind.”

“I don’t understand why you are doing this,” the Emperor said, shaking his head. “I have never done anything wrong to you.”

This set Rax’s teeth on edge, and he pulled out his weapon, aiming it at the Emperor. “You may not have done anything directly, but you have allowed the oppression of the poor to persist. You have done everything in your power to make sure that you are taking care of them even if that means that the rest of us will suffer. I had to work every day of my life ever since I was six years old to become the man that I am today. And now, I am 1 million times the man you and your son are. And the rest of the Army knows it. They will follow me into battle from now on. You are nothing. And they are going to treat you like you are nothing. So, you better get ready for that, because that is going to come soon. Sooner than you think.”

“This is preposterous. Guards! Seize this man. He has gone insane from the pressures of battle.”

But the guards did not budge. They had been treated just as badly, if not worse, as Rax and the rest of his family had, judging by their facial expressions.

“I said to seize him!” The Emperor shouted.

“Actually, I have a better idea,” Rax said, summoning the guards to him. They whispered together for a few moments, and then turned to the Emperor and his son.

“Get out of the palace.” Rax said.

The Emperor and his son gaped at Rax, dumbfounded by the demand. I shifted nervously, watching the whole thing unfold before my eyes. I knew  that if the two didn’t vacate the palace right then and there, something terrible was going to happen. Rax had managed to turn the Emperor’s men against him. Or, maybe, the Emperor had managed to turn them against himself. Perhaps if he truly was a benevolent leader, none of this would be happening, but he had definitely not ensured that he was taking care of his people. His guards had no loyalty to him whatsoever. They were ready for a change, and that change was going to come, even if it had to come by force.

“This is my home! I am definitely not going anywhere. But you, on the other hand, are going to have to leave now.”

“You really don’t know who you’re dealing with, do you?” Rax asked, wrinkling his brow at the Emperor.

The guards stepped forward, raising their weapons at the Emperor and his son. Neither of them had ever been trained for combat, both of them having been pampered and spoiled their entire lives, as if it were some kind of status symbol for them to not be able to defend themselves whatsoever.

I couldn’t believe that I was witnessing the uprising of the Raither people. The guards tugged Rax toward the throne, and had him sit down in the Emperor’s chair, where he smiled out over at me from across the room. His pride was nearly tangible, and I was so pleased for him. I had never been more excited in all of my life. He was absolutely the most incredible being I had ever seen. Everything he did was impressive and I had always known, since the moment I had laid eyes on him, that he would change my life. What I didn’t realize was that he would change the lives of so many others as well.

“Zina, come on over here.”

“No, she is mine!”

The guards glared down at the Emperor’s son, who growled in anger. This only caused everybody to laugh at him, and he felt a deep shame and embarrassment as he was ledout of the palace.

I walked tentatively toward Rax, who reached his hands out and took my hands in his. His multicolored eyes shimmered as he stared into my eyes, and I squeezed his hand, relieved that all of this was finally starting to wind down.

“That’s quite a fancy chair you have there,” I said, too nervous to really express exactly what I was feeling.

“It’s pretty comfortable. Do you want to stay with me?”

I was still extremely worked up over the whole situation, and Rax stood, embracing me tightly.

“Everything is going to be better from here on out,” he said, whispering gently into my ear. I promise you that much.”

I smiled at him, tentative but pleased, and he grinned back at me broadly.

“Now, have a seat. It’s really not so bad. We can get you a nice pretty gown to wear too. You’re going to have to get used to this. I am the leader of the Raithers now, and you are my bride.”

I gaped at him. He used such a human word to refer to me. Most of the Raither man I had ever heard speak about their female companions only refer to them as their mates. But somehow, Rax seems to sense that calling me his bride would mean more to me, and I embraced him tightly.

“All right, all right. Sit in the seat! It’s pretty comfortable, you’ll like it! I do.”

I laughed despite myself and took a seat, getting comfortable. “This really isn’t so bad is it?” I said, smiling up at him. “But really, it suits you more.”

“I’m really glad to hear that,” Rex said.

We gazed at each other fondly, until finally, I yawned, and his smile faltered.

“We need to get you in to bed,” he said decidedly.

“That would be nice,” I agreed.

“Guards, make sure that nobody comes in here. We are going to find some quarters to claim for ourselves now that this is our home.

He smiled at me then, a bright, beautiful smile that nearly made my heart stop.

“It really is going to be okay now,” he said. He took my hand and squeezed it and I smiled back at him reassuringly.

“I know,” I said, lacing my fingers through his. We walked down the hall of the palace that way, each of us slightly in awe of everything that had just transpired.

***

The bedrooms in the palace were all lavishly furnished, and I gaped in awe at the silken sheets and intricate designs printed on each pillowcase and stitched into every blanket.

“This place is beautiful,” I said, dragging my finger along one of the silk pillowcases. I had never seen such luxury and all my life, and I turned to Rax, realizing suddenly that he probably never had either.

“Yes, it really is something is in it?” He said, shifting awkwardly. He looked adorable, honestly, standing in the middle of the room huge room and stuffing his hands in his pockets like a child who was afraid to touch anything, just in case he breaks it.

“It really is,” I said. “So, as the leader of the Raithers, what is the first thing that you are going to do?” I asked, stepping toward him and touching his broad chest with my hand.

He looked down at me, his eyes lighting up. He smiled, and I was lost in the soft features of his handsome face.

“I think that my first order of business is going to have to be taking care of my female,” he said, fixing a sensual gaze upon me. It sends of the thrill throughout my body, and I left nervously, holding his hand in mine and allowing the deep rise of pleasure to engulf me.

“Oh? And how do you intend to do that?” I asked,”

It was strange to be anywhere with a bed, especially after so much time being stranded on the planet Hexa. Honestly, I had never considered it would be possible for me to leave, but now that I had, all of this was just so astoundingly beautiful.

“I think the first thing that I’m going to do is to let her know just how unbelievably beautiful she is,” Rax said, nodding seriously. “And then, I think that I’m going to insist that she change into something a little bit more comfortable.”

I laughed, shaking my head. “Honestly, that is one of the oldest lines in the book, Rax,” I said. “I know that you can do better than that.”

Rax chuckled and shook his head.

“I don’t know what you mean by that, but I do know that I mean it when I say you should get out of those clothes.”

His eyes flashed darkly at me, and suddenly, my body was completely engulfed in flame. He came toward me, and soon, we were busy, roaming each other’s bodies with our hands, and removing unnecessary articles of clothing from each other. When we were done, he lifted me into his arms and kissed me passionately, his tongue sneaking into my mouth and sending a wave of pleasure crashing through my body.

I cried out in pleasure as he carried me over to the bed and threw me down gently, climbing on top of me and planted another deep, languid kiss on my lips. He was so tender and sensual, and yet, so strong. I was surprised by the way his body moved against me, and soon, I could feel the hard testament of his longing against my middle.

I let out an unintentional groan of desire as I allowed my body to take in all of the sensory input that he was providing me with. Nothing I had ever experienced in my life could measure up to this moment. I was free. I had escaped the dangerous prison planet, and now I was with the only being I had ever loved with all of my heart and soul.

He seemed to sense my feeling, and held me close, stroking my face tenderly and examining me as if it were the first time he had ever seen me.

We looked at each other like that, intimately, with our bodies completely naked and pressed against each other, simply appreciating the fact that we had both made it out of this alive and were together to experience this moment.

I cried out in ecstasy when suddenly he thrust his hips forward and I felt him begin to push inside me. I had never experienced anything quite like so intimate before, and I had to bite my lip to keep from crying out. I needed to be careful not to make anymore loud noises. I was paranoid about the guards hearing what we were doing.

But he seemed determined to make me lose all of my inhibitions, and soon, he was planting hot, tender kisses up and down my torso, his lips settling on my breasts and suckling on the soft, pink mound of my nipples. I moaned involuntarily and ground my hips against him, and he followed with another powerful thrust inside me.

“I never want to leave you again,” I said, holding onto his muscular biceps firmly.

He looked into my eyes and smiled reassuringly. “With me as the Emperor, you will never have to be apart from me again. I can make it illegal if I want to.”

“Yes, that’s what you need to do. I never want to be apart.”

He chuckled softly, and then kissed the nape of my neck.

“I told you, it never has to happen again.”

The sound of his deep voice rumbling in my ear was overwhelming, and the feeling of his breath against it sent me over the edge. I shuddered in ecstasy, and he began to continue on his quest, pleasuring me again and again with each long, hot sinuous stroke of his member against my body. I could feel myself beginning to tighten around him, as my orgasm began to creep up, tingling hot in my abdomen. I had never been so in love before, and now, I knew that everything that I had experienced had happened for a reason.

I cried out loud as he began to ramp up his power, until I could feel every inch of him sliding inside me. I threw my head back in rapture as an earth shattering climax began to consume my body. All thoughts were driven from my mind except this pleasure, and Rax growled, his eyes flashing as he began to release the power of his own longing within me. The sudden, abrupt exclusion of his climax enhanced my own, and we held each other until both of us were finally spent.

“I love you,” I said. “I want to stay with you forever.”

“I love you too,” he said, touching my cheek and kissing my forehead gently. “This is going to be the beginning of something beautiful, I can feel it.”

“I can feel it too. Thank you so much for all that you have done for me. I will never leave your side.”

“Oh, I know you won’t,” he said, his handsome face lighting up into a broad smile. “Because that’s a little impossible now.”

I laughed softly, and he gathered me up into his arms. Soon, I had fallen into the most blissful, peaceful sleep I had ever had in my life. Nothing could have been better. I was the happiest I would ever be, and it would only get better from there.
