Soulmates 2.5: A Christmas Novella by Sienna Grant (14)

Todd

Clink, clink, clink.

Chris taps the glass from the front of the room to get everyone’s attention. Taylor stands next to him looking absolutely stunning in her wedding dress as Chris wraps an arm around her shoulders, waiting for the chatter to die down.

“My wife and I want to thank everyone for being here tonight and making it extra special for myself and Taylor.” The guests roar with cheer as they clap their hands, making me smile. “As you all know last week I married the love of my life up in the highlands in a small ceremony of just family, so we thought we’d have a party!” Everyone cheers again.

“Thank you to Todd, Adam, Aidan and Ryan for being our best men and to my Dad for being there for me always and David for having the most beautiful daughter in the world.”

He pulls her closer to him, tucks her under his arm then kisses her temple, she looks up at him full of love, admiration. It makes me a little jealous, I want that someday. I want to be the one on the receiving end of all that love and devotion. Chris carries on his speech as my eyes flit around the room, everyone here stares at the happy couple. The room is full of love for them, they both deserve it.

Adam holds Darcy close to him as she stands with her hand resting against her pregnant belly. My gaze finds the front again as Chris kisses Taylor, not bothered about the fact that around a hundred people are watching. Instantly my mouth pulls into a smile, happy for my brother.

“I love you Taylor, you complete me.” Chris tells her. A tap on the shoulder pulls me away from the happy couple as I look behind me. “You’re late.” I eye him from head to toe, appreciating the sight before me. He’s dressed in dark jeans with a white shirt, his sleeves rolled up to the elbow, his thick, muscled forearms a sight to behold. His short-trimmed beard gives his handsome looks more edge and makes my mouth water, as it always does.

My eyes cut from Chad and I look ahead again as Chris tells everyone to have a good time and get drunk. Clapping and cheering for my brother and sister in law, I stand from my chair.

“Where are you going? I just got here.” Chad tells me irritated.

“To speak to my brother. I won’t be a minute.” Smiling, I turn, but hear him sigh, but instead I walk away. After speaking to Taylor, Chris and the rest of the family we head to the bar and get some shots in. The barmaid pours six shots of JD, I hand some money over while the others stand in a circle and I pass the glasses. Holding up my shot glass I speak.

“To Chris and Taylor, wishing you every happiness in the world.”

We clink glasses and knock back the dark liquid in one swig and place them back on the bar.

Walking towards the men’s toilets, I push on the door and walk in. Two hands grip my hips and guide me further in. Chad spins me around and pins me against the door so it can’t open while still holding my hips, gazing up at him my heart beats rapidly causing me to pant. “Are you trying your hardest to piss me off?” My head shakes, no, as his hard cock rubs against mine, the friction causing my dick to push against the restraints of my boxers. He captures my bottom lip dragging it between his teeth and nipping before licking away the sting as the stubble on his face rubs against my clean-shaven chin.

I tip my head back and close my eyes as our noses touch and his warm breath is on my face, his lips a millimetre from mine. I inch forward as they touch softly at first, his hands cup my face, his thumbs stroking over my cheeks and his lips fiercely overpower mine. His tongue spears into my wanton mouth as his hand moves down and cups my dick, stroking me, making me harder as I pant his name “Ahh, Chad. Not here!”

“I wanna fuck you Todd, so bad.” Pulling away reluctantly, I stop him in his tracks, “go tell your family you’re going home.” He demands. I slide along the wall until I’m out of his hold and look at him surprised.

“Excuse me? I’m not going anywhere, this is my brother’s wedding reception.”

“Well if you want fucking you’ll come home with me.”

“Fuck you, Chad. I don’t need this shit.” Turning away from him I pull on the door and walk out. He soon catches up as I’m walking down the corridor and spins me to face him clutching my elbow tightly. “Let go.” Loosening his hold on me, I pull away my arm. “Bye Chad.”

“If you walk away, I’ll tell all your family about your little secret, then what will you do?”

I chuckle at his threat - about to give him a piece of mind when I hear the voice of my brother. “We already know his secret. Don’t threaten my brother because you’ll regret it.” Aidan stands beside me, his hands in his pockets, smirking. Aidan surprises me but we did clear the air a little up in Scotland, but before I can say anything else Chris and Adam join us.

“It’s time you left.” Chris tells him.

“Todd give me a call.” Chad tells me before walking around me and towards the entrance doors. Chris and Adam follow him while Aidan stays with me.

“Thanks.”

“You’re my brother.” He shrugs, throwing back at me what I said to him up in Scotland. I smile as he pulls me into him slapping my back in a man hug.

“If he touches you again, I’ll fuck him up.” Adam says as he nears us.

“Come on let’s enjoy the rest of the party!” I re-join my family and try to forget about Chad as the girls take to the dance floor. He was never like this when we first started seeing each other, I don’t get where the change in him has come from but I’m not putting up with that shit, not from him or anyone else.

An hour later, the drinks have a created a sweet buzz until there’s a commotion on the dance floor. I look through the crowd to see Darcy bent at the waist clutching her belly. I can’t see Adam as I run through the crowd. “Darce, what’s wrong?”

“I think my waters have broken.” I look down as Adam runs onto the dance floor but doesn’t see the water that’s puddling on the floor and steps right in it, his foot sliding through and landing on his arse.

“Fuck!” He shouts as I’m pissing myself laughing at him. A chair appears from out of nowhere and Darcy sits down while Chris phones an ambulance and Taylor sits with her.

The ambulance arrives quickly and bundle her into the back as Adam joins her, while I await the arrival of my niece or nephew.

Running down the steps of the hotel, I head towards the waiting taxi idling at the kerb, waiting for me. I can’t sit here and wait for news it’s been hours already. The party went on for another two hours after, Adam text me to say, enjoy the party and he’d let us know if there was any news...but there’s been nothing. I know I’m impatient and that labour can go on for hours, well that’s what Ash said anyway, but he’s my twin and I want to be there. Before I jump into the taxi my name is called. “Todd?” I spin around sharply. I know that voice…

“Chad? What are you still doing here?” He steps out so I can see him. He’s still in the same clothes as earlier. What the fuck?

“I thought you’d gone home?” I bend to look into the taxi, “two minutes mate.” The driver nods his head and I walk back towards Chad. “What’s going on?”

“I needed to see you. I’m sorry about earlier.”

“So, you should be. You totally tried to control me at my brother’s wedding with the whole of my family there.” He steps closer to me until we’re just centimetres apart, his warm breath hitting my cold face, warming me through. His gloved hands cupping my cheeks as he leans into me. Pulling away and leaning my head back, “I have to go. You can’t treat me like shit, expecting me to say sorry and all it’s over and done with Chad - it’s not fair.” He sighs loudly letting me know how pissed off he is.

“I’ve waited for you all this time and now you’re saying I treat you like shit?”

“You did tonight!” My voice rising in annoyance. I have to say I do feel a little guilty about him hanging about waiting for me, “give me call later, I have to go to the hospital, my brother and his girlfriend are having a baby.” Shaking my head on a sigh, I walk away from him, his face a myriad of emotions from what I can see. I get into the waiting taxi, before he gets sick of waiting and drives off. My head turns to look through the back window after I tell the driver my destination, leaving Chad standing in the dark... watching as I get further away from him. A million things running through my head... is he the right one? Is he always going to be like this…?

Only time will tell.
