Soulmates 2.5: A Christmas Novella by Sienna Grant (5)

Chris

“What the fuck’s up with you, you moody bastard?” Ryan asks smirking.

“Nothing. Don’t worry about it.”

“There’s only one person in this world that can make you frown like that.” Looking at Ryan, I raise an eyebrow and wait for his words of wisdom or his know it all facts. “Taylor! What has she done now?”

“Yes, you’re right, it’s Taylor. The fucking god damn stubborn woman that she is - she won’t talk to me. You know her, you know what she’s like.” I pause, but when I don’t get an answer I go on ranting. “She doesn’t want kids. Not that we didn’t already know this but... I thought, well, I thought when Ash had Alyssia and knowing there’s another one coming along soon - she’d change her mind, get a little broody and want our own. But no. In fact, she went on to tell me that if I kept pressuring her she wouldn’t marry me at all.”

“Fuck!”

“Exactly. God, that woman winds me up to the max! She really knows how to push my buttons.”

“What about the wedding though, you’ve booked the venue.”

“Like she’s getting away with it that easy. I’m going to pin her down and talk to her tonight.”

“Whoa! I don’t wanna know about your fantasies.” Ryan frowns.

“No? I could tell you a few things if you think you need pointers?”

“Fuck you! Ash and I are just fine thanks.”

“Okay, but seriously though I’m not letting her walk away from me until she tells me everything.”

“So, what about the wedding. How you going to get her there?”

“We’ll go first, I’ll tell her I’ve booked us a short break and then I’ll let her know the secret when all of you arrive. Wait ‘til you see the place. It’s beautiful... at least the pictures look beautiful. Adam’s going to do the photos for us, I have it all sorted.”

“Well I hope everything works out tonight then.”

“You have no faith in me. Don’t forget Ry, she can’t resist me.”

Getting on with the rest of my job, I will the time to hurry up and pass but doing paperwork - I doubt that’s going to happen.

“We need to talk.” I say to Taylor as I walk through the door, drop my bag and walk towards her as she paints her toenails on the couch. “You need to talk to your boss and tell him you need a couple of weeks off…. in two weeks’ time.”

Her eyes are wide as she looks up at me. “Chris, it’s nearly Christmas, do you know how much I have on at work? I can’t just walk in and say I need time off.” She argues.

“Why not? He’d do anything for you.

“That’s not the point!” she screeches.

“Taylor, I mean it. We need this break away. It’s booked. I’m taking you away so you can relax, forget about the worries and work just for a week or so.” I kneel down and sit in front of her and place my hands on her thighs. “I’m sorry about last night, I would never pressure you into anything, least of all having kids when I know what your reservations with it are. Don’t you know this by now?” She shrugs but doesn’t look at me.

“I’m sorry too.” She answers quietly. I lift her chin so I can see her eyes.

Taking the bottle of nail polish from her hands, I screw the lid on, put it on the table then hold her hands in mine… “Taylor, look. If we never have kids then I’m okay with that because I have you. Don’t get me wrong - yes, I’d love kids one day, but if it never happens then I’ll deal with that. All I want is you, for you to share the rest of your life with me, share my name, share everything we love together... if you don’t know that then you’ll never realise just how much I actually love you.” She sniffs and wipes away a stray tear. “You are my everything and more.”

“You big softy. I do love you more than anything in the world.” Taylor sniffs loudly.

“So, can we have this break away?”

“And in case you don’t know, I do want to marry you.” she nods smiling wide.

“I never doubted you for a second.” My lips press against as I lean up onto my knees. Her hands cup my cheeks and I kiss her a little deeper pouring my love into her and showing her that I won’t be going anywhere soon. As strong as Taylor is - sometimes she's still a scared little girl who just wants reassurance that I’m here for the long haul and I intend to do it for the rest of our lives if I have to.

Pulling her closer to me, her knees rest against my ribs as she grips me while I devour her, my lips eager to get as much as they can. I rise up onto my feet and push her down into the sofa, still kissing her, letting my desire for her control me. My body presses against hers as my dick pushes against my jogging bottoms, longing to be inside her. She wriggles underneath me and pushes down her leggings just enough to get where I need to be. She kicks them off as I drag her vest top up and over her head so she’s left just in her bra, as she pushes up my t-shirt from the bottom. Her palms stroke over my stomach and up towards my pecs, rubbing, smoothing while I grab my t-shirt at the back of my neck and pull it over my head, throwing it to the floor.

My hand pushes between our hot bodies so I can be where I need to be. Slowly pushing my fingers inside her, I stroke her walls as her thighs grip tighter around my hips. Thrusting my fingers in and out at a casual pace has her needy for me. I gasp, as the thumb on my free hand rubs against her bottom lip and her tongue pokes out to lick it. My dick gets even harder. I take out my finger, push down my bottoms freeing my dick and ease inside of her. A groan releases from the back of my throat. “God Sunshine.”

“Fuck me Chris.” Without any more instruction, I do as I’m told. I lean on my knees, pull her legs up and pound against her. Her body arches up against me as I pull her hips towards me and push against her. It doesn’t take long before her body tenses and her grip on me gets tighter. I push harder against her, squeezing her hips underneath my hands as she shouts out with her release, within seconds I’m following her.

“Ahh. Jesus!” My sweaty forehead falls onto her chest as my knees slip from the seat and my weight presses against her.

“Make up sex is just the best ever.” Taylor gasps.

“I have to agree sunshine, but that doesn’t give you full rein to cause an argument.” I lean up and kiss her nose, then her lips.

“We can pretend…” she winks playfully.

That’s my girl.

Taylor

We’ve showered, rested, had another session and are now cuddled up on the couch, eating pizza together with a bottle of beer. This is one of the reasons why I love him, I can be me, no one else and he drinks beer with me - none of the fancy stuff.

“We couldn’t have done that with kids around the house.”

“Any excuse. So... are you going to get the time off?”

“Tell me the dates and I’ll see him tomorrow.” He leans across and kisses my lips hard. I smile as he releases me. “What was that for?”

“No reason. You’re my sunshine. You make me happy.”

“Even when I’m being a bitch?”

“Even then.” He winks playfully. He drops the pizza boxes to the floor and pulls me against him, holding me tight. I settle against him and wait for the film to come on. He promised to watch Fast 8 with me so I’m holding him to it, he knows my love for some action and fast cars, oh and maybe Vin Diesel... of course.

While the trailers are still on I can’t help letting my curiosity getting the best of me. “So where are we going?”

“Hmm? Erm...we’re not going abroad, but we do need to go on a plane, you’ll need to pack warm.”

“Stop with the riddles and clues and just tell me.”

“Okay, we’re going to a place in Scotland, but from what I’ve been told it’s very traditional and romantic.”

“Oooh you soft arse!” A thought suddenly strikes me.

“Did you say traditional?”

“I did. He smirks.

“Does that mean there’ll be men in kilts. Oh my God! When do we go?” I ask excited. Why didn’t he say that before?

“Two weeks on Friday. We’re spending Christmas there too.”

“But what about your family and my Dad?”

I’ve spoken to them, it’s okay. Don’t worry we’ll back the day after Boxing day, we can go straight around there if you want too.”

I nod smiling, “okay then.”

“Did you know about Chris taking me away for Christmas?” I ask Darcy as we sit on the couch in her new flat and drink coffee...well, I drink coffee. She can’t.

“Of course we did. I told him he should do it and Adam, I think had a bigger influence.” She says as she rubs her very large tummy. She sighs, “ugh, this pregnancy is never going to end.”

You’ve only got four weeks left.” Gasping, my hands cover my mouth as my eyes spring wide open. “What if you have the baby and I’m not here?”

“Taylor, it’ll be fine. Adam’s here and also his Mum.”

“How’s your Mum doing now?”

“She’s okay I think, taking it day by day, but once the baby’s born, she’s heading off to Australia to spend some time with my uncle. She’s staying for a month or two, it’ll be good for her to get away from here for a while. It’s different for me, I have Adam, you, Ash and the rest of the Willows family, I’m coping.”

“Glad to hear it.”

“So, you sorted out your differences then?” Darcy smiles.

“We did. I can’t wait to go away now just for the break.”

“OW.” Darcy’s hand instantly rests on her tummy. “Shit that hurt!”

“Everything okay?” she grabs my hand.

“Feel here.” she places my hand where she wants it and within a minute I feel the baby - it kicks against my hand. Wow! That’s so weird.

“Oh my gosh, was that the foot? I think it’s going to be a little footballer.”

“Adam would be so happy if it was.” Darcy rolls her eyes. “Are you packed?”

“Not yet. I need to find my warm jumpers and sort shit out because I know it’s going to be colder there than here.”

“Yeah, just a tad colder.” Darcy smiles. “What did your boss say about the time off.”

“Absolutely nothing in fact, he practically threatened that if I didn’t take some time off and have a break - he’d fire me. How does that work?” Darcy just laughs while I sulk internally that even my boss doesn’t want me around.

“It’s good though. He wouldn’t be where he is if it wasn’t for you. You’re amazing at what you do, you should be proud of yourself.”

“I am and I love my job, I have a good relationship with him so I’m happy.” I help her get the nursery ready before I have to go. She shows me the clothes she’s bought, the little sleepsuits, vests and the hundreds of bibs, because they don’t know what they’re having it’s mainly white and lemon. I haven’t told them about the cot I’ve bought yet, I’m going to wait a few more days and tell them it’s a Christmas present, I’ll probably wait until just before we leave to tell them.

We have another cup of coffee before it’s time to leave so I can start on my packing. I really do need this break now as much as I fought it.
