Chapter 10

Raine

Just about six and a half months later

Heaving up from the couch, I waddled my way into the kitchen. Ryder and I were finally living in our house full time. Even though it had been nice being with Crickett and Collin in our old home, the farmhouse was the last gift my father ever gave to me and it just didn’t seem right to not use it.

Ryder trotted down the stairs, his toothbrush still in his mouth. “Hey babe?” he slurred with white foam bubbling up at the corners of his mouth.

“Yes?” I responded.

“Have you seen my wallet? I thought I left it in the pocket of my pants last night but it’s missing.”

I grabbed it off the counter right next to me. “You mean this old thing?”

He spit into the sink before pecking my cheek. “What would I do without you?”

“Lose your damn mind misplacing everything you fucking own,” I teased.

“That’s a fucking fact if I ever heard one.” He grabbed me from behind, kissing down my neck.

I tried to shoo him away. “I feel like a walrus right now, Ryder.”

“A sexy walrus?” He continued down to my shoulder, rapid firing kisses in between words.

“No, not the least bit sexy.”

“Come on babe, you keep on complaining that you want our little guy out already and all those pregnancy books you insisted on me reading said sex this late in the game could help induce labor.”

He started to lift my dress up over my head and I couldn’t resist any longer. Even though I felt awful, an orgasm or two would probably help my mood and self-esteem quite a bit.

“Fine.” I pretended to just be giving in, but I was kind of excited. Ryder had been working so much and I had been feeling so gross lately that we barely had time for any type of intimacy at all. I missed the good old days when if we went more than two days without sex, we thought there was a problem. I couldn’t even remember the last time we flirted with each other.

He got down on his knees behind me. “Lean over onto the counter, baby.” He guided me into position. “Comfortable?”

“Yeah, I’m good.” I tried to relax a little as Ryder’s hands ran down my hips and over my ass. He pulled my panties down, helping me out of them and tossing them to the side. He buried his tongue into my wetness right away, licking my clit and teasing my opening perfectly. Ryder really had a magical tongue. I could have stood there all damn day letting him tease and pleasure me. He moaned against me, his hot breath coursing over my sensitive skin. “You taste so damn good baby. I missed this so fucking much.”

“God, me too.” I cried out as he sucked gently on my swelling bud. My knees were shaking. My eyes were slammed shut. I didn’t even think about my giant belly or my swollen ankles and feet. There was nothing else in the world other than the pleasure Ryder was giving me, and I started to grind my hips slowly onto his face as I cried out. My orgasm came on without warning and was more intense than I had ever felt.

Getting to his feet, Ryder dropped his pants down around his ankles. “I’ll go nice and slow, babe,” he whispered as the head of his dick tenderly started to enter me.

I gripped the edge of the counter as my body remained in a completely euphoric state of ecstasy.

“Fuck,” he growled, “you’re so damn tight.” He pushed a little harder with every thrust, making each time feel better than the last. I let my head roll back as I practically purred with excitement.

“That feels amazing, Ryder.”

Just like the first, my second orgasm consumed me without any buildup or warning. All of a sudden I was a shuddering, panting mess of feels and emotions, and Ryder followed closely. We stood there in the kitchen, naked, as he kissed the nape of my neck. A moment later, I started bawling crying.

“Babe? Did I hurt you?” Ryder spun me around in his arms, and the look of concern on his face made me cry even harder.

“That just felt so fucking amazing.” I was blubbering, smiling, and sobbing all at once.

Ryder started laughing hysterically.

“What?” I sniffled.

“You’re crying because we just had amazing sex? Am I understanding this situation correctly?” He was still laughing as I nodded.

“Help me get into the bath before you leave, jerk.”

“As you wish, my lady.”

Ryder drew me a bubble bath, lit a few candles, laid out a towel for me, and even made sure I had a fresh change of clothes waiting for when I was ready.

“Have I told you lately that you are the best husband in the world?” I kissed him as he was one foot out the door.

“You tell me that at least five times a day, but I still love hearing it every damn time.”

“I hope you never get tired of hearing it,” I called after him as he raced down the hall.

“I never could. Love you, Raine. I’ll be home early tonight.”

Even with being the president and basically the boss now, Ryder still tried to beat everyone to the shop in the morning to make sure the paperwork was all situated for the day.

Sinking into the nice warm water, I beamed with pride that my husband was such a wonderful man, provider, and outlaw. I knew most people wouldn’t understand the life we lived, the dangers that lurked, or the choices we willingly made every day, but it was our little slice of biker heaven.

The lavender aromatherapy candles mixing with the warm comfortable bath lulled me right into a little catnap. I must have only been out for a few minutes at the most when shooting pains forced me to wake up. I practically jumped out of my skin when I realized I was going into labor and the pain I had just felt was a contraction.

I frantically looked around for my cell. After the initial panic wore off, I remembered I had set it on the dresser before I got into the bath. When I tried to get up, another wave of shooting pain made it impossible for me to even think about moving.

Inch my inch, I slowly made progress getting out of the tub, grabbing the towel, and shuffling over to my phone.

I dialed Ryder over and over until he finally answered.

“Raine? I’m with a customer. Can this wait?” he said hurriedly.

“Do you think me calling five times in a row means it can fucking wait?” I screamed.

“What’s wrong?” I could tell from the sound of his boots hitting the gravel in the parking lot that he was already running to his bike.

“He’s coming—right now. Ryder, hurry. We’re going to have a baby today.” I was screaming from the pain as Ryder started shouting from the excitement.

“On my way, see you in a couple of minutes. Just breathe and I will be there before you even know it.”

I hung up the phone and shot a text to Crickett.

Me: Baby coming right now.

Crickett: Closing the bar. I’ll tell Holt and Collin to head to the hospital.

Me: Bring Fun Dip.

Crickett: On it. Anything else?

Me: Miss Gilda.

Ryder was running up the stairs as I was setting my phone down.

“How many laws did you break driving here?” I asked as he grabbed my bag from the closet.

“They were only traffic infractions baby, nothing Crowley wouldn’t have been able to get me out of it we really needed him to.”

“Holy shit! That was a big one.” I stood at the top of the stairs, paralyzed from the pain.

“We’re almost there, just down these stairs and into the truck.”

Ryder had to practically lift my ass into the passenger’s seat of my dad’s ginormous F250.

“Why aren’t we taking the little truck? The one I can actually get in and out of?” I barked at Ryder before he sprinted around to the driver’s side.

The engine was already running before he was all the way into his seat. “Because I am doing a little bit of work on it and this one is way safer.”

“Whatever, fine. I don’t give a fuck. Just get me to a damn doctor so he can give me something for this fucking pain.” I was trying to remember all the freaking breathing exercises I had learned in Lamaze class, but nothing was helping.

“Almost there, baby. Just a few more blocks.”
