Unchaste Fate (Pretty Pinks MC Book 1) by Dana Arden (9)

Chapter 8

Banshee

Scoping out the waiting room as a group sit or pace in all black with blue bandanas attached to their bodies in some fashion, Bellamy goes straight for Reggie who has his head down rocking foot-to-foot in the center of the room. When they see Poison and I behind her, the tension becomes thick.

I sure as fuck was not sending my girl into a place full to the brim with gang members. I don’t care that Razz is comfortable with them or that Reggie shook hands with Rudy saying there’d be no beef between the gang and the club. They all look sketchy. Eyes rapidly roaming the room, jittery as fuck and not one of their expressions change toward Mauve and Bellamy. They glare, curl their lips and stand just a little too close for my liking.

When Reggie puts his hand on Bellamy’s shoulder, I snap. “Reggie, hands off.” His head swings in my direction. “She’s mine. There’s no need for you to lay a finger on her.”

He shakes his head in agreement, but his cold and calculating eyes never waver. “Sure, Banshee. Whatever you say.” He smirks.

“Reggie.” Bellamy spits trying to take his attention from me. His head gradually rolls to face her. “What’s wrong? Why did you call?”

“The doctor said he had a clot in his leg. They sent me out of the room. They were using a machine moving it up and down his leg. They said if they couldn’t break up the clot it could move to his lungs and that it could be fatal. They wanted to start him on some kind of medicine. Why can’t they just speak in slow man’s terms? The more they talked, the more I didn’t understand. They said he was stable before, so now does that mean he’s going to die because of a clot?”

“No, sometimes when a person is unable to move around or has a genetic disorder that makes the blood clot easily, they can get what’s called a deep vein thrombosis. His leg probably swelled, turned red or was unnatural warm, and they did an ultrasound to find out what was causing the symptoms. The medicine they want to put him on is probably a blood thinner. The blood thinner will help to separate the clot so it will pass normally. They’ll put compression stockings on his legs and continue to monitor him until the clot goes away. They caught it early, so that’s a good sign.” Reggie nods. “Has he woken up at all?” He shakes his head no. Bellamy pats him on the arm. “Give it some time. It hasn’t been twenty-four hours yet. If that’s all you needed, I’m going to go home. I need sleep for my shift later today.” She waves goodbye and pivots to leave.

“Thanks, Bellamy,” Reggie says as we exit through the doors.

“Anytime.” She calls out.

“Anytime my ass.” I hiss when we’re in the parking lot. “Bellamy, I know you feel the need to run and help everyone, but they are not the type of people you need to be rescuing. Reggie and his crew are more than capable of handling that situation as are the doctors that are relaying the information.”

“Banshee, that’s like me telling you that I can’t be near you because you’re in an MC. I don’t make assumptions about what the Rioting Devils are all about, as I don’t for the Blue Enigma. They haven’t crossed me, so I’m not going to go back on my word to him that if he needed me to call. So, let’s just drop this and go back to my place, get a few hours of sleep and talk over a cup of coffee.”

“I’m just saying that out of the fifteen or so men in that room none of them could understand what the doctor was saying or ask the correct questions to get the answers.”

“Just drop it. I’ve had a long day and an even longer night, and I just want to go home and curl up next to you in bed. Is that too much to ask?”

I pull her into me. “No, sweets, but you need to watch your back.” She nods, and we load up in her car and head back to her house.

Stretching my arms as I roll to my back to hit the cold and empty spot beside me is not how I expected to wake up this morning. I anticipated waking to Bells on her hands and knees with my cock in her mouth as she moaned around me as her fingers dived into her aching core, but it’s only Thursday. It could happen tomorrow morning.

Getting out of bed and throwing on my jeans, I search her out. I don’t have to go far as she’s propped against the counter watching the coffee pot drip. I guess I didn’t miss her by much since she hasn’t had her first cup of the day. She looks my way as I approach her. Her eyes analyze my every feature as I bend closer to her face barely touching her lips to mine.

“Good morning, Sweets.” I murmur.

“Mornin’. Did you sleep well?”

“Yes, but you know what would’ve been better.”

“What?”

“Waking up with you in the bed with me.”

“I tried to wake you, but you kept growling to leave you alone, and Granny taught me not to poke a sleeping bear, so I didn’t.” She smirks.

“Next time, I’ll just poke you.”

“I think poking is an excellent wake-up call.”

I lift her and set her on the counter as her thighs spread, I step in between them holding her chin in the palm of my hand. She sets her arms around my neck and nips my bottom lip then sucks it into her mouth. I wrap her in my arms deepening the kiss as she rocks against my throbbing cock. Her fingernails dig into my skin as I press my hips harder into her center. Before she can reach the orgasm that was evident, a throat clears. We slowly separate as we stare down the intruder.

“Sorry to interrupt,” Poison says hesitantly because he knows how much having Bellamy back in my life means to me, “but Pres texted and needs us back at the Clubhouse. If it was anything else, I’d have left you two alone and handled it myself.”

“I’ll be ready in a minute.” He nods and leaves us. “Sweets, I’ll call ya later. You get off at the same time tonight.”

“Yeah, I’ll be home hopefully earlier than last night.”

I give her a chaste kiss. “I’m going to finish getting dressed, but I’ll either see you tonight or call you.”

“That’s fine. You don’t have to be here every night, Banshee. I’m not going to disappear.”

“I hear ya, but I want to be close to you. I want to know about your day as I want you to feel the same towards me.”

She pats my ass. “I do feel the same but I, also, don’t want to smother you either.”

“Whatever you say, Sweets.” I head out of the kitchen and to her bedroom, dress and leave the same way I came with her meeting me for one last kiss. “See ya soon.”

“See ya soon.”
