Blank Canvas: Diva's Ink by Liberty Parker (20)

Ariel

The nerve!

Now I can’t even go anywhere unless my gatekeeper is with me!

The three of them sitting around discussing me as if I wasn’t even standing right there has pissed me off. I’m so sick and tired of being talked about like I’m not even in the same room. I do have opinions and wouldn’t purposefully put myself in danger, now I can’t even take a piss without them having to know where I’m going and what I’m doing. I march over to my lounger and fall into it crossing my arms over my chest. I’m aware I’m acting childish, but honestly, I’m over it…all of it. I notice Dillon coming my way and I give him my best ‘leave me alone’ face. “Leave me alone Dillon, I’m not in the mood right now.”

“Too bad,” he says, causing my mouth to gape open and close like a fish out of water. He’s getting too damn bossy and alpha-ish for his britches.

“I’m being serious dammit, I need a minute or twenty away from you.”

“Don’t care what you want right now, Ariel, I’m not stepping one single inch away from you.”

“When did you become so damn domineering and controlling? You were not like this when we started dating.”

“I don’t know, maybe when some psychotic sonofabitch decided he needed to threaten and scare my woman. Nothing will kick off a man’s protective instincts than when his woman and child may be in danger, Ariel.”

“Whatever,” I say, rolling my eyes at him.

“I’ve told you before that your attitude won’t push me away, that still stands in case you were wondering.”

“I wasn’t,” I say trying to look anywhere but at him.

“Dammit, Ariel, this isn’t a punishment!”

“Sure does fucking feel like it,” I say, finally looking at him only to notice he looks upset and is staring down at his shoes.

“I love you, if anything happens to you or that baby, someone might as well hold the barrel of a gun to my forehead and pull the trigger.”

“Don’t say that, Dillon, it’s not cute or funny!” I admonish him, the thought of anything happening to him makes me sick to my stomach.

“I’m being one-hundred percent serious here, baby. You have no idea what you mean to me, what that baby you’re carrying has come to mean. You two are my world, without you there is no reason to go on living.”

I scoot over and climb into his lap, I grab his face with both of my hands and tell him, “Nothing will happen to us, Dillon, I promise.”

“I need you to put y’alls safety first, Ariel, nothing on this earth is more important…promise me, baby.”

“I promise, Dillon, I’ll try harder and do better where my safety is concerned.”

“Thank you, baby, now kiss me,” he demands, and I do just that.

After a fun-filled day in the sun, we went to dinner and then made our way up to our room. Everyone showered then met back in our living room area to play board and card games, when we’ve had enough Dillon and I say our goodnights and make our way to our room. I just finished turning the sheets and blanket down on the bed when Dillon walks up behind me, he pulls my hair to the side and starts kissing my neck and shoulder. I tilt my head to the side to give him easier access.

“Mmmm…that feels good,” I tell him.

“I want you, baby,” he says between kisses.

“You have me,” I say breathlessly. The things this man can do to me with his mouth alone is astounding. He makes me hot and bothered with just a look, but the minute he touches me in any way I’m ready and willing.

“I need to be inside of you.”

“What are you waiting for then, take me,” I say impatiently.

He turns me around in his arms and I raise mine so he can remove my shirt. He slowly, methodically raises my shirt. Losing my patience I rip the thing from me and go to remove his, and he puts his hands over mine and stops me.

“Slow down, baby, I want to take my time and make love to you.” I nearly stomp my feet, I love the way he takes me roughly, I crave it.

“I want you to fuck me, Dillon.” He stops and looks at me with lust in his eyes.

“I never fuck you, Ariel, no matter what the pace is, I always make love to you. Fucking is for one-night stands and meaningless relationships, that’s not what we have.” If I was a swooning type of girl that would’ve made me do so.

“The things you say to me.”

“I’ll never tell you anything I don’t mean.” And the look in his eyes tell me he’s telling me the truth with that statement.

“I know you won’t, baby,” and I realize that I mean every word of it. Once our clothes are removed and he’s buried deep inside of me, with every forward thrust my eyes roll in the back of my head in pleasure.

“Marry me,” he stops and looks into my eyes with this question.

“You’re seriously asking me this question right now?”

“Yes, marry me.”

“You’re not just lost in the moment, you’re serious, aren’t you?”

“I’ve never been more serious.”

“Yes! Yes, I’ll marry you.” He picks up the pace again, and we stare in each other’s eyes until we each reach our individual climaxes screaming out the other’s name.

I wake the next morning deliciously sore in all the right places. I notice the bed beside me is empty so I sit up and hear the shower running. I get up to go join him but something on my left ring finger catches my attention. On closer inspection, I see an antique diamond ring is attached to it. I squeal in excitement and run from the bedroom into the bathroom.

“Dillon!” I scream once I throw the door open. He jumps from the shower, looking around for potential danger.

“What? What’s wrong? Are you okay, is it the baby?”

“No, we’re fine, stop looking for something to be wrong. Everything is perfect,” I say smiling and holding out my left hand for his inspection.

“You like it, baby?” he asks with a smile of his own gracing his gorgeous face.

“It’s perfect! When did you have time to go out and get this? Weren’t the jewelry places closed last night? It’s too early for anyone to be open yet.”

“I’ve been holding onto it for a few weeks now, waiting for the perfect time and place to ask you.”

“A couple of weeks, Dillon, you’re crazy, we haven’t been together that long as it is, but a couple of weeks ago, that’s nuts!” He starts laughing at me dragging me into the shower with him. I guess it’s a good thing I never got redressed after we made love last night.

“Love doesn’t have a time limit on it, Ariel, it’s a feeling in here,” he says taking my hand and placing it against his heart. “It’s knowing that you don’t want to live without the other person. It’s when you can’t breathe when the other one isn’t near, not being able to live day to day without the other invading your thoughts. No, there is no time set on love, Ariel, when you find that one, you do everything within your power to keep them”

“I love you so much, Dillon,” I say with tears running down my face, damn pregnancy hormones!

“I love you too, Ariel. So, what do you say we finish getting cleaned up and let the others know. I feel like celebrating.”

“Yes! I can’t wait to see the look on my mother’s face, you’re going to make her one very happy woman.”

“The only woman’s happiness I care about is yours.”

Did I say I didn’t swoon? Well fuck that, because I just did.
