“I don’t know what the meaning of this is. Get your fuckin’ hands off of me. I will have your badge for this.” I was watching as the police escorted Jemma out of the house. There were three squad cars outside of Aurora and Andy’s old house.
“You’re under arrest for attempted murder. You have the right to remain silent, but every word you say can be used against you in a court of law…” They were reading her Miranda rights and making sure everything was done by the book.
“I won’t stand for this. I have the right to call a lawyer.” She looked frazzled and she kept giving Aurora the eye. “I will make sure you don’t even get a job as a god damn traffic cop.” She was struggling, but the handcuffs were keeping her from doing anything to cause her or the police officers any harm.
“Don’t say a word until our lawyer gets there.” Andy was standing by Jemma not knowing the evidence that was piling up by the second.
The police had to act quickly and had conducted a search warrant on the property. They had enough with the blown up portion of the video we had gotten from Fletcher to make an arrest.
It took a day to get the technicians to get anything useful.
Aurora was in the backseat of my mother’s car watching everything happen with her eyes wide open. She couldn’t bear to witness the display of theatrics. She stayed out of it.
The police found a journal with Jemma’s private thoughts. The plan was to kill Aurora. She detailed how she pricked her with a needle to make her lose consciousness at the top of the stairs. There was no need to push her. She lost her balance and consciousness sending her tumbling down the stairs.
Aurora remembered how Jemma was smugly eating an apple and did nothing to try to stop her from falling. She even talked about the inheritance of how easy it was going to be to take everything from her. The last entry was when she found Aurora was alive and out of a coma. She was determined to see her dead before December 24th.
Andy spotted Aurora in the car and came over with venom spewing from his lips.
“I can’t believe you would do this to your own sister. I hope this makes you happy. How could I ever love someone like you? It sickens me to think of how much time I wasted being with you. This isn’t over. Jemma will have her day in court. Make no mistake about it.” Andy was fueled by rage
I pulled Andy aside so Aurora didn’t have to endure him any further.
“This is neither the place nor the time to get into this. Each of them will have their time in court to tell their story. I would prepare yourself if I were you. I don’t think that Jemma is going to be able to talk her way out of this.” He didn’t want to believe it.
“This couldn’t have waited until after she had the baby. I can’t believe you would do this on Christmas Day. Don’t you have a heart?” Andy shouted, trying to get Aurora to respond.
Aurora couldn’t bear to look at him and didn’t dare say anything in rebuttal. Aurora had to make some phone calls to delay the meeting with the lawyers regarding the inheritance until the first of next year. The law firm didn’t question the nature of the delay and gladly obliged.
“You must understand Jemma tried to kill Aurora for the inheritance, right? Or are you so out of your mind? Brother, you need to take the blinders off eventually.”
“I can’t even look at the two of you. You should both be ashamed of yourself.” He raised his fist, but I shook my head to give him the idea nothing good could come from hostilities.
“You might want to consider what you’re going to do about the baby. There are a lot of decisions to be made. I need to go, but we’ll make sure to be there when the court decides on a date for her trial.” I didn’t envy his position. He looked like he was going to blow his top, but the police intervened and escorted him back to his home.
I got into the car and drove Aurora to the shop so that she could go over what she had brought in during the holiday rush. She wasn’t in the mood to talk after what had happened with Jemma.
Today was also the day that I had to do my one last job. I was dreading with this decision for the last few days.
“Aurora, I can stay with you at the store and not go. I can help you out around the store since you aren’t supposed to put much weight on your ankle.”
“I’m feeling much better. It’s ok, you’ve helped me enough. I know today is the day. Are you still going to do it?”
“I’m torn. Tell me what to do.” It was no secret that I was torn about this job.
“This is a decision that you’re going to have to make for yourself. I don’t like the idea of you putting yourself in danger for money. I know it might sound cliché, but we have each other. The rest will sort itself out. I wouldn’t be with you if the money you were going to make from this job was for selfish reasons.”
“The care facility is not covered by any kind of medical plan. It’s privately owned and operated. The cost per month is more than most people make in a month. Her savings is almost gone. This is the answer to all of my problems. I have to weigh the risk over the reward.”
She took my hands in hers and looked into my eyes.
“The harsh truth was that there was no way I can tell you not to do it. I guess I took it for granted. My ex-husband was footing the bill. He’s not exactly loaded, but he managed with our savings. I’m sure he has been burning the candle at both ends to keep up with the bills and with my sister’s constant demands.”
“I just want you to know that I love you. I know it’s a mess right now, but I will get myself out of it. I promise you that I will be the better man that you deserve.”
She brought my hands to her lips and kissed my knuckles. “I love you too. Remember that you are a good man. I will see you soon.”
I hoped deep down inside that Aurora truly comprehended the reasons why I had to do what I was about to do. I hoped that she knew me enough and not give up on me. I wasn’t a praying man, but for her love I prayed to God that she would understand.
I drove away without looking back to see the disapproval on her face. I kept thinking there had to be a better way. It wasn’t long before I was at the dock.
I had the nondescript sedan idling at the curb an hour after leaving Aurora. I sat there with my driving gloves on watching from afar. I turned the engine off, sat there contemplating how I would cut all ties if I were to do it right at this minute, or what would happen if we get caught or what if Harper and Owen turn on me and throw me under the bus. The first scenario would mean there was no way for me to pay my mother’s bills. And if I were to be caught then who knew how many years I would sit in jail for. The logical answer was to back out of this. Maybe Aurora was right. But I had also given my word to Owen and Harper that I would do this job with them and it would be last.
My mind was racing a million miles a minute, thinking if there was a better way. Maybe there was another way to make the money…maybe I could secure a loan other than a loan shark to pay the medical bills…my head hurt from knowing that this job was probably my best bet.
I cracked open the window to get some fresh air. The cold air helped calm my nerves.
My mind wandered off to what happened with Jemma’s arrest earlier today. It still boggled my mind that Jemma was the one who orchestrated this whole thing for the inheritance. What kind of person was she to try to run Sheila and Aurora over while being eight and a half months pregnant?!
Out of nowhere I saw Harper and Owen walked out from a street corridor. The streetlight was lighting a spotlight on them. They stood around, seemed like they were waiting for someone. I certainly remembered this wasn’t part of their plan, unless they had made last minute changes without telling me.
A cab stopped right where they stood. A man hopped out of the cab.
I couldn’t believe my eyes.
It was Andy. I had to pull out my binocular to see for sure.
It didn’t make sense. Why was he there?
Owen handed him a wad of cash to pay him off and gave him a pat on the shoulder for a job well done.
Their inside man was Andy!
Andy put the money in his pocket and started to walk away in the opposite direction.
I suddenly had this feeling come over me. A bad feeling, I couldn’t put my finger on it. My instinct told me that I should leave right away.
I turned on my engine, thinking that I would quietly drive away.
Harper and Owen spotted me. They were making their way over. The police were suddenly swarming the area and they didn’t even make it to the car.
I heard both of them screaming Andy’s name. I had a feeling Jemma was going to have some company behind bars. I didn’t stick around to be fingered as an accomplice. It wasn’t like I was caught in the act of aiding and abetting. My part of the job hadn’t started. I was mere seconds away from being pulled into this mess with them.
I drove away slowly, looking into my rearview mirror to see the police were cordoning off the area. I was hoping there was honor amongst thieves. I purposely put the car back where it belonged. Nobody would be the wiser.
They could say anything they wanted. I would no doubt be hauled in for questioning without an ounce of proof against me. There were no text messages or email or any documented communication amongst the three of us.
The police had questioned me extensively for hours, but I didn’t break. They had no choice but to release me within 24 hours since there was no proof.
I rushed back to Aurora the moment I was released. She was at the store. I found her going over the books and told her everything including Andy being the inside man. I still didn’t know how the police were tipped off, the only reason I could think of if there was a mistake made between Owen and Andy. Or that Andy was discovered and he had to rat on Owen and Harper to cut himself a deal.
“I have to say I wasn’t expecting this.”
“Harper and Owen tried in vain to run me over with the bus. They wanted to make a deal, but I was cautious enough not to leave any fingerprints in the car. They had nothing but their words. It wasn’t enough to make the case.”
“I knew I couldn’t trust him. This was probably how he paid for the clinic and for whatever Jemma demanded of him.” Andy had apparently gotten a job on the boat and was using his position to give information to Harper and Owen about the big fish in town.
“I’m just glad I was able to walk away before it was too late.” I was elated by how fate had lent a hand in giving me a second chance.
“You have no idea how happy I am for you.”
“Let’s celebrate!”
“Oh I have an idea or two,” she said seductively.
“I don’t want to wait to get you back home.”
“The store is closed and I have a back room without windows.” She grabbed me by the hand and pulled me into a room where there was a multitude of different dresses on display.
She swept a wooden table clean of fabric swatches. I watched as she jumped up with her legs dangling over the side. I couldn’t help how my body responded to the way that she was biting her little finger suggestively. There was a lurch of approval from the presence of my manhood between my legs.
“I think this will more than suffice for what we need in the moment.” I fought the good fight until her jeans were lying on the floor at my feet.
I quickly undressed until my cock was pointing at her like a divining rod. She jumped down and presented an interesting sight on her knees with her hand curled around the shaft of my excitement.
I watched how she stroked me and then took me into her mouth to the scalding evidence of her wanton craving waiting for me. I sighed with contentment and threw back my head with a tremor of desire running through my lower extremities.
She was turning me on by the way that she was enthusiastically supplying me with oral satisfaction. I didn’t think it was necessary to say anything and no words were necessary to convey what I was feeling.
I plunged deep into her throat and she showed no adverse effects. There was no gag reflex. I was mesmerized by how easily she swallowed those inches.
I ran my hands through her thick blond hair, pulling lightly, but not hard enough to stop what she was doing. I was breathing heavily in the effort to keep down the orgasm threatening to burst from my loins. I was running hot and I could feel the way that her tongue was drawing my seed from my balls.
She knew exactly how to warm me up. I took my hands away from her hair and placed them on the table with her body positioned right in front of me. She was trying everything she knew to drive the stake of defeat into my overactive libido.
I hovered on the edge of succumbing to her warm caress. My lips were parched and I was constantly licking them to find any kind of moisture. I tried at the last second to release her oral grasp on me. It didn’t look like she was in any frame of mind to let me go easily.
“I don’t think I have to warn you. You already know better than most.” My climax was blazing a trail along the length of those inches and the fiery exit was enough to make me breathless.
She was not one to give up and held her ground through the explosion that was twitching through the length of my pipe. I gave a few final samples of my love juice with deep jerky motions. I had no idea how this could get any better.
She was the perfect aphrodisiac. There was no way that I could deny how her hungry disposition was giving me the lead back in my pencil.
I touched her and felt her dripping down my index finger. I inserted that one finger and found that she was wet and ready for more. I watched her and the expression on her face was priceless.
Turning her away from me gave me a bird’s eye view of her ample posterior. They were plump and ripe with her half moons of persuasion calling to me from across the room.
I was up against her in a second with my hand moving her hair to get at her neck. I knew this was her weakness and I felt her legs wobble when my tongue made contact with her neck.
“I’ve never… I’ve never had anybody make me feel like this.” My cock was nudging and she arched her back to give me an easier target with the bull’s eye of her glistening lips pulling me in closer.
“Is this what you wanted?” It was an automatic reflex to thrust my hips and give her the stiffness projecting from my midsection.
“Oh God…yes...Travis…” She was singing my song with words that I could understand.
It was in a language that could only be translated through the physical expression of our love.
She had almost all of it and the tightness of her hole was making it hard to contain what was building up inside of me. She gasped loudly when I gave her those final inches with my balls pressed up against her. I could see how her lips fluttered to receive me. It was warm and toasty between her buns.
The extra incentive came from how she reached between us to fondle my family jewels. They were already full to bursting, but I had every reason to hold out for as long as possible. The flame was burning and increasing in degrees of temperature. The slow encompassing orgasm was getting rapidly close. It was climbing to the tip where I was threatening to flood the tunnel of her love.
The room was stifling and beads of sweat were covering my body. I could feel how slick her skin was by how I was playing my fingers down her spine like a xylophone. I was enamored with the small of her back. I’d always been a sucker for the female form in this way.
There was a sudden darkness and then an explosion of light behind my eyes. I felt it coming and stopping it was going to be an exercise in futility. The quiet moment was punctuated with a scream of release from my lips.
I knew she came at the same time practically on the heels of the first shot between her lips. She was grabbing me in the fist of her sex and squeezing to get every last drop.
She fell to her knees and I followed her still connected body and mind. I didn’t stop and I continued to fuck her with the same impressive tenacity as I did when I began. The orgasm took me on a wild ride.
We held each other tight and enjoyed the afterglow in silence.
