Alpha Series: Alpha Landon by Midika Crane (12)

Blood trailed down my fingers, as I held the wound on my neck. The pain was throbbing and consuming, but I could still feel the surprise pulsing through. Everything was setting in deeply, making me feel utter dread wash across my whole being.

"You marked me," I repeated. Landon's eyes were fading from black, to the pale green they usually were. Blood trickled down his chin, sealing the fact that I no longer belonged to no one. He nodded slowly, watching me warily.

He suddenly looked better than before. It was as though I was looking at him through a set of new eyes. Eyes that magnified every contour of his face and body. It marked places that made me feel attraction for him ten times over.

"Why?" I question. It was all I could say. I wanted to be mad at him, but I could feel the bond between us. It was as though I wanted to confide in him about my problem, even though he is the problem. His arms looked awfully inviting at the moment... But the need to cuddle would have to wait.

"It was necessary," he stated simply. Necessary? Was that all he had to say to me? He wasn't even apologising for the fact that he marked me, without my permission. I pulled my hand away, seeing it covered in blood. At the same time, Landon wiped at his mouth.

I didn't answer, turning on my heel to walk down the hallway. I wanted yell at him, but it seemed as though that wasn't an option. So instead, I sought to find the bathroom, to wash off my hands, and neck. Not looking at him made me calm down a bit. It made me think clearly without wanting to jump at him right in the middle of the hallway.

"Where are you going?" He asked, surprised at my sudden departure. I didn't know really. Alden hadn't shown us where the bathrooms were, so I was hoping for the best. Landon trailed behind me. This blood, that was slowly drying, needed to go instantly.

"I need to wash off the blood," I snap. Landon sighed deeply.

"The bathroom is back this way," he informs me. I stop in my tracks, roll my eyes, and walk back the way I had come. I narrow my eyes at a smirking Landon as I pass him, bumping my shoulder against his. Even touching him made me jump. The obvious tingles were exchanged like germs; frequently, and in large doses.

"Listen Al, trust me when I say it was going to happen eventually. And I didn't want to wait," Landon stated from behind me. My heart skipped a beat at his words. I had dreamed of him telling me these things, but after he had marked me with my permission. This was hardly romantic...

"But here? We aren't even within our own packs walls," I reply over my shoulder. Landon still walked securely behind me. It would be so embarrassing to walk back into the dining room, suddenly mated to the Alpha of the Power Pack. I took a deep breath. That was a lot to process at this one time.

Eventually I found a bathroom. It was small, but a basin, mirror and running water was all that was needed at the moment. I entered the bathroom, with Landon following suit. I quickly turned the tap, and watched the water flow out of the facet.

I looked at Landon behind me first, who was watching my eyes, before I looked at myself.

Apart from the blood staining the left side of my neck, I looked rejuvenated in a way. My eyes were bright and alert, and weren't dark underneath from the lack of sleep I seemed to be getting lately. My skin was smooth and flawless almost, with no imperfections to be seen. Slowly, I brought my hand up to my face to see if I was real.

"Do I really look like this?" I question, noticing that even my posture was improved. Landon nodded from behind me.

"Marking you has enhanced your well-being. Your lack of a mate beforehand was depleting your overall health," Landon explained. I never knew that. Some things I wish they taught me before I left school. Of course he would know...

"And the fact that you're now mated to an Alpha helps too," he added. I swallowed. I was mated to an Alpha now...An Alpha of a Pack that holds a lot of responsibility over other Packs. I was a Luna, a leader. Shit...

Shaking these things in my head away, I concentrate on washing the blood of my neck. I didn't realise it would initially hurt this much, and create a bucket load of blood. I shiver, watching it all wash down the drain.

Once all the blood was gone, I assessed the side of my neck. Two marks, slightly swollen tainted my neck. It was a mark that was bound to scare any male from my near vicinity. Slowly I begin to shift my hair over the mark, covering it completely. Landon frowns at my movement.

"Why are you covering it?" Landon asks, moving to stand beside me. I sigh deeply, and turn to him, looking him in the eye. He looked hurt, and I didn't mean to offend him, it was just the fact that we were here, with company.

"It's not going to look very good if we walk back into that room, suddenly mated," I reason. He shrugged, obviously not fazed by that at all. He probably didn't mind showing Cyrus that I was no longer an unmated female.

"Alden will smell it anyway, and who cares what Cyrus thinks," Landon dismisses. I close my eyes, feeling a headache beginning to form. I couldn't do that to Cyrus. Landon might think it's the best thing in the world, but my heart couldn't take it. Annoyed, I push at his chest.

"Where are you going?" He questioned. I gave him a deadpan look, giving him another push. He smirks at me, obviously entertained by my actions. Slowly he pulled my hair away from my neck, where it was covering the mark.

"Back to the dining room, where everyone is waiting for us," I reply. I want to push him again, but touching him makes me weaken. So instead, I try to duck under his arms to get out the door. Landon was quick to grab me by my arms, and put me back where I was; trapped against the basin.

"Landon, can you move please?" I ask sweetly. He tilts his head, giving me a smile. I knew he wasn't going to move out of my way without persuasion.

"I don't know, can I?" He asks coyly. I sigh, narrowing my eyes at him. He answers my glare with a chuckle. I never knew Landon to be like this. He was always so reserved around me. I had seen his stubborn side in many things, but never sexually.

"Yes, you are perfectly capable of moving out of my way," I say simply. His arms rest against the basin behind me still, his face centimetres from mine. I stare straight into his eyes, showing him he can't push me around.

Suddenly he leans in, his lips enchantingly close to my ear.

"Make me," he whispers, causing me to shiver. He removes one arm from trapping me in, using his hand instead run up my side.

Giving in, I grab his face between my hands, and guide his lips to mine. He responds immediately, thrusting his tongue urgently into my mouth. His dominance was obvious, as he grips my hips strongly, lifting me up to sit on the basin.

I run my fingers through my hair, feeling his need through our kiss. Less than an hour ago, I could never have imagined I would be mated to this man. Touching him was so different now. It was as though he gave me an unexplainable strength it every little touch and kiss.

"Landon," I breath, as he pulls away, kissing down my neck. Memories from only minutes before flood back. His teeth sinking into my neck, as he claimed me as his own. It makes my eyes open, from being blissfully closed. But as soon as his soft lips touch the mark, that still stung slightly, I sunk back into his arms.

"Well then."

I jump, hearing a deep, rather scarred voice. Landon whirls around, obviously knowing exactly who was there without even seeing him. I gazed over his shoulder, seeing Alden standing at the door, looking shocked, his eyebrows raised to his hairline.

Fear courses through me, but apart from being slightly shocked, it didn't seem as though Alden was all that fazed.

"I must say, I saw it coming... you two mating. But I can't say I predicted it happening in the bathroom of my home," Alden says softly. I want to correct him, to say it didn't actually happen in the bathroom, but I refrain.

I don't know what summoned the Alpha in the first place, but it can't have been too important as he turns around, and goes back the way he came. I let out a deep breath of relief. Landon helps me off the basin, so my feet hit the ground easily. I was slightly wary of his attentive attitude, but I don't question it.

"Shall we get back to lunch, my girl?" He asks warmly.

My girl.
