Chapter Twelve

How Asa had somehow convinced Jamie to come to his house when she should have been getting ready for work confused the hell out of her. She had found herself calling in sick. Jamie had never so much as come in late to work before let alone calling in sick, even when she wasn’t feeling one hundred percent.

It was kind of scary how in a few short days, he’d managed to infiltrate her life and control her in a way that no one ever had, not even her parents. With her mother and father, they’d controlled her by brute force and mental abuse. With Asa, it was by the sheer force of his will. Somehow, he’d managed to make her feel things she didn’t think she was capable of.

When he’d spanked her earlier for ‘disobeying’ him, she should have fought back against his unexpected assault. But, there was so much more to these punishments. After he administered his personal brand of discipline, Jamie had cried like she never had before. It was as if something within her that she’d been holding on to for so long had been released. It was an ugly, raw cry that had come from the depths of her soul. And, it had cleansed her. For years, it felt as if she’d been living with a huge weight on her shoulders. But now it was as if it had been lifted because of Asa.

There was a darkness to him that frightened her. His need for control and the way he seemed to know more about her than she knew about herself, disconcerted her. He could see into the inner depths of her soul. And then, there was his random confession. What did he mean about killing his father? Asa had said it so casually, as if he were talking about the weather, but had refused to disclose any more about his past. He’d simply said that he’d reveal more when the time was right.

That alone should have made her fight against what was happening between them but the wheels had been set in motion and she couldn’t seem to stop them.

“You’ve been quiet since we left your apartment,” Asa noted as he led her into his house.

“I’m not sure what you want me to say, Asa. I’ve never called out before and I feel guilty that someone has to cover for me.”

“Let me ask you something. Have your coworkers ever called out? Or taken vacation?”

“All the time.”

So, don’t you think you’re entitled to a break? If you haven’t taken any time off, as you said, then I’m sure you’ve accumulated more than enough PTO to take the next couple days off.”

“Two days?” She turned to face him. “I can’t take two days off.”

“Why not?”

“Because, I can’t.”

He took her overnight bag. “You can and you will.”

“And, do you plan on taking the days off with me?”

“I have surgery in the morning but after that I’ll be on call, so I can work from home and keep you company. In the meantime, have a seat and relax. I’ll fix you something to drink after I put your bag away.”

Reluctantly, she went to his living room and parked herself on the couch, contemplating what the hell was wrong with her. He’d basically confessed to killing his father and yet, like a fool, she was in his house. What if she was his next victim?

Jamie was so deep in thought she didn’t hear him enter the room. “Here’s something to relax you.” He held out a wine glass to her.

She took the drink. “I’m not a huge drinker.”

Asa raised a brow before grabbing the glass from her hand and taking a sip. “If this is drugged, then we’re both fucked.” He handed it back.

“That’s not what I meant.”

“Isn’t it? Trust me, Jamie, if I wanted to hurt anyone, you’d be the last person on my list. Try it and tell me what you think.”

Truthfully, she wasn’t crazy about alcoholic beverages but that commanding look in his eyes had her putting the glass to her lips. To her surprise, she liked it. “Mmm, this is good. It’s really fruity and sweet.”

“I figured you’re more of a sweet wine drinker. That’s a Moscato from a vineyard I’m invested in.”

“I didn’t realize you were in the wine business.” She said taking another sip.

“I’m not. I just provided some of the capital for my friend when his business needed a boost. It’s good to keep one’s portfolio diverse.”

She giggled nervously. “I don’t even know what that means.”

“It means that when I retire, I’ll be quite comfortable.”

She looked around his pristine home and shrugged. “Looks like you already are.”

“I suppose I am, but one can never be too careful in this precarious economy. I’ll be back in a moment.”

He left the room again while Jamie finished off her wine. His talk about finances brought back her uncertainties again. Jamie was careful with her money. She’d even managed to put a little of her check aside into a savings account every pay period but she knew nothing about portfolios and investments. It just underlined, again, that she and Asa were leagues apart.

By the time Asa returned, she’d finished off her wine. He eyed the empty glass. “Would you like some more?”

She shook her head. “No, thank you. I’m good.”

“Great. Then I have the ultimate relaxation tool for you.”

He took her hand, pulled her off the couch before leading her upstairs. Jamie felt she should offer some token protest because after all, where else could he be taking her except to his bedroom.

And that’s exactly where they ended up but instead of stopping at the bedroom, he pulled her in the bathroom. To her surprise, his oversized spa style tub was filled with bubbles.

“You did this for me?”

“Yes, I figured that you’d be staying over here a lot so I got some items to properly pamper you.”

“That’s a big assumption,” she shot back.

“But, a correct one. Jamie, let’s stop pretending what we have isn’t going to become permanent. In fact, it already has. Now, take off your clothes.”

Jamie opened her mouth to counter his words but he shot her a look which effectively cut off anything she would have said.

Jamie grabbed her shirt and would have lifted it over her head but Asa said, “Slowly. I want you to take your time while I watch.”

Suddenly feeling self-conscious under his watchful stare, she took her time easing the shirt over her head and tossing it aside. Her jeans went next. She shimmied out of them and began to tremble when she noticed his sizable erection pressing against his pants.

After kicking her pants aside, Jamie unfastened her bra.

“You have the most perfect breasts. Not large but perfect for my hands.” Asa closed the distance between them and cupped them in his palms, casually brushing her nipples with the pads of his thumbs. They puckered beneath his touch and Jamie released a reluctant moan. In the short time she’d been with Asa, she was slowly becoming addicted to his touch.

“Now the panties.”

Jamie moistened her lips with the tip of her tongue. Asa’s eyes darkened to an almost deep green. He cupped the back of her head, pulled her against him and covered her mouth with a long, deep kiss. He sucked her tongue into his mouth and then gave it a nip.

“Oh!” Jamie gasped in surprise.

“That’s what happens when you tease me. It was my intention to let you have a relaxing bath. But if you keep tempting me like that, little girl, I’m going to bend you over the sink and fuck you until your legs give out.”

Something told Jamie that he would do exactly that. “I don’t know what I did.”

“Oh, you know what you did. Standing there with your titties out and licking your lips. I bet your pussy is already wet, isn’t it?”

Before she could answer, he dipped his fingers inside her panties. He slid his middle finger into her pussy and Jamie moaned because it felt so good.

“I knew it. You’ve been naughty again.” He pulled his finger out of her pussy and smeared her juices across her lips. “Go ahead and lick them now. Taste how hot you are for me.”

She pushed her tongue out and ran it along the seam of her lips. Jamie had never tasted herself before but it wasn’t unpleasant.

Asa chuckled. “You’re a dirty girl. Looks like we’re going to have to clean you up. Instead of waiting for Jamie to remove her panties, he gripped them in one muscled hand and ripped them off of her.

She gasped. They were one of her nicer pair but she figured Asa didn’t care.

“This is how I like you. When you’re with me, I don’t want you to wear any panties so I can have access to this delectable cunt whenever and wherever I want.” He leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers once more, this time, in a quick kiss. “Now, get into the tub and wait for Daddy.”

Jamie’s body was already inflamed and he’d hardly touched her. What kind of spell did this man have over her? She slipped into the tub which was blissfully hot but not scalding. It felt like pure heaven as she slid within the depths of the bubbles.

Her butt still hurt from earlier when he’d spanked her and the heat of the water soothed her aching flesh. Whatever bath salts he put into the water seemed divine. She could easily live in this tub and never get out.

“So, you like it?”

“Yes, it’s very nice.” She leaned back and closed her eyes.

“I’m glad. Now, it’s my turn.”

She popped one eye open to see him disrobe. Unlike her, however, he did it quickly. Jamie took a moment to admire his beautiful frame before he slid into the tub behind her.

Asa sat down, positioning Jamie between his legs. She had no choice but to lean against his chest not that he minded. It actually felt nice.

“I love this tub so much. If I had one in my apartment, I don’t think I’d ever leave it.”

“Well, if you lived with me, you could take advantage of this tub anytime you want,” he replied, absently stroking her nipple with the back of his hand.

She giggled. He couldn’t be serious about her moving in with him when she was still adjusting to the idea of them being a couple. “Sure, Asa.”

The hand that had been stroking her breasts still. “Do you think I’m kidding?”

“You’ve got to be. I mean that’s just crazy. Asa, we barely know—”

He pinched her nipple and gave it a twist.

Jamie gasped.

“You’re starting to sound like a broken record, Jamie. I know you. And whether you admit it or not, you know me. I saw the recognition in your eyes the second we saw each other. You knew then that I was the other half to your whole.”

“You may know me, but I barely know you, Asa. Admit it. What two sane people move in together in such a short period of time? It’s a recipe for disaster.”

“The disaster would lie in us not being together. My question to you is, why do you keep fighting something that’s going to happen anyway?”

“You casually admitted to killing your father and that’s not supposed to give me pause? I’m pretty sure you were joking because who would admit something like that? Murder joke aside, you’ve basically strong-armed me into doing what you want. This is all so overwhelming.”

“Do you really want to hear about my father?”

Her eyes widened. “You weren’t joking?”

“No.”

Her first instinct was to pull away but Asa must have sense that she would so he put his hand on her knee. “Don’t. I can explain.”

Okay, explain.”

“Okay, you wanted the truth, so here it is. I’ll give you the abbreviated version for now. My father wasn’t what he appeared to be. Just like your father was a pillar in his community, mine was the community. People looked up to him because he was a well-known surgeon who saved countless lives. He was the director of surgery and was on the board of several charities. He was so well known for his work that he often did consultations all over the world. He was an all-around good guy. In public. In private, he was a nightmare. He had a twisted side. A side he saved for my mother and me. He had taken up boxing in his spare time as a teenager so he packed a killer right hook. I know because I was on the receiving end of it more times than I could count. He didn’t need a reason to beat up on me, but if I stepped out of line, he’d make things even harder for me. Now, I’m sure you can understand why I’d developed ulcers throughout my lifetime. I had a doctor suggest that I was just a high-strung kid because no one actually suspected that Dr. Steven Stansfield was a sadistic son of a bitch who took pleasure in hurting his family. And the really messed up part about it all, was the fact that he wasn’t a heavy drinker. As far as I know, he was not a victim of abuse himself. That’s just the way he was. That was one of the hardest life lessons I had to learn.”

Jamie never would have guessed in a million years that Asa had been on the receiving end of abuse. It was no wonder he’d said they had so much in common and it was true. They’d both suffered at the hands of people who were supposed to be their protectors. Looking at Asa, one would never have known what he’d gone through. No wonder he’d been so close-lipped about his past.

She twisted around just enough to look at his face. “I’m sorry you had to go through that.”

“Don’t apologize. It’s not your fault. It was his. He was the monster. And before you ask, when I killed him, it was an accident. One night I missed my curfew by a few minutes. My father was in one of his rages and I came home to see my mother cowering on the floor. Her face was bruised. To this day, I don’t know what made me confront my father. There had been plenty of times when I was in that exact same position and my mother literally stepped over my body as if I wasn’t even there. But something inside of me snapped. As I ran up the stairs and called out to my father, I yelled all kinds of obscenities at him. He met me on top of the stairs and we fought. There was a struggle and he slipped, tumbling down the stairs. His neck snapped. I can still remember him lying there with his lifeless eyes still open and his neck at an unnatural angle. And, my mom screamed murderer at me.”

“Oh, my goodness.” Relief filled her chest. She was glad that he hadn’t done anything drastic like chop up his father or shoot him in his sleep. “It sounds like it was an accident and no one could fault you for trying to protect your mother.”

Asa let out a humorless laugh. “I didn’t do it to protect my mother. I did it because I was angry. I’d had enough.”

“But still, you can’t beat yourself up over that.”

“I don’t feel bad about what happened. I’m glad he’s dead and if there’s a hell, I hope he’s rotting in it.”

Jamie didn’t know what to say to that. If she were to learn of her father’s death, would she mourn him? Probably not. “I guess, I understand.”

“Do you really?”

“I believe, I do.”

“Good. And hopefully, you understand why I’m moving so fast with you, as you’ve put it. We’re kindred spirits. You and I understand the true meaning of pain and suffering. We’ve seen the monster and survived. We can go through the motions of living a normal life but the scars are always there, right beneath the surface. We’re too broken for them to ever completely heal but when we come together, it’s a beautiful thing.

Jamie, I knew from the time we met that you would be mine and I’m not one who beats around the bush. I want to take care of you, be with you, love you and be one with you. All you have to do is say yes. Say yes, Jamie.”
