Shattered: Steel Brothers Saga: Book Seven by Helen Hardt (25)

Chapter Twenty–Five

Ruby

It happened in a flash. Ryan was cupping my breasts, lightly touching my nipples. Everything I had asked him to do, and when I sat down on his cock, I came.

Just like that. No stimulation to my clit. I just came. Stars danced before my eyes. It was so sudden, so unexpected, and so powerful.

From the inside out, I exploded, and then imploded back inside myself, everything culminating in the core of me, my innermost depths. The orgasm rocked through me, and I cried out. “Ryan, oh my God!”

“Yes, baby. I can feel you coming. I can feel you clenching my cock in your pussy.”

“You can really feel it? When I come?”

“Ruby, I have felt you come every time. Every time is amazing.”

Just those words made the orgasm skyrocket back. He could feel this. He could feel my body responding. How fucking empowering.

Before I knew what was happening, he had flipped me over onto my back, and then he was pounding into me. He seared me with his dark eyes melting into my own. He didn’t speak, but sweat beaded on his brow and dropped on my face. His teeth were clenched, and he was grunting, groaning as he pushed into me again and again.

Every drop of perspiration that fell on my face left a trail of fire in its wake. He pushed into me so far, nearly touching my heart, it seemed. I closed my eyes, and the tiny convulsions began once more.

“Goddamnit, I’m coming again.”

He continued to grunt and plunge. His hairline was wet with perspiration.

And then

He groaned and plunged so deeply inside me, I almost felt that we were inside each other’s skin. Truly one body.

He stayed there for a moment, lying on top of me, breathing rapidly, still groaning.

And though he was way too heavy for me, having him there, sweating, having just climaxed, still one with my body… It was unlike anything I’d ever known.

I made a decision right then and there. I would talk to Melanie about finally getting through what happened to me, what happened to Gina, what happened to all those other innocent people my father had preyed upon. I would make myself whole.

I needed to be whole. Not for Ryan Steel, but for me.

Because I needed to be worthy of him.

I woke up a few hours later. Ryan was still sleeping soundly beside me. Ricky had nudged the door open and was panting in my side of the bed. I reached over and gave him a pat on his soft head and then got up to use the bathroom. When I had finished, I grabbed the shirt Ryan had been wearing yesterday and put it on. It covered me midway to my thighs.

I reveled in the soft cotton. Wearing his clothes felt very right.

“Come on,” I said to Ricky. I took him down the hallway to the kitchen and let him out the back door.

Then I went back into Ryan’s bedroom. He was still sleeping, and I glanced at the clock. It was nearly eight. It was Saturday, so I didn’t wake him. He knew when he had to be up.

I went back to the bathroom to comb the tangles out of my hair. I picked up Ryan’s brush and then noticed a short dark hair sticking to my neck.

We’d been so sweaty last night. I probably had Ryan’s hair plastered to my body and vice versa.

I pulled the hair off my neck and examined it.

Damn. The bulb of keratin on the end was intact.

This was a fresh hair. Ideal for DNA testing.

Without thinking much more on the matter, I held the hair between my fingers and sneaked back into the kitchen. I searched through the cupboards until I found a box of zippered plastic bags. I grabbed one, stuffed the hair inside, and zipped it. Then I went back to the bedroom and hid it in my purse.

My heart beat wildly.

I didn’t have to do anything with that hair. I was only taking it because

Because why?

Was I going to betray Ryan’s trust and give that hair to his brothers to have it tested?

Take it out of your purse, Ruby. Take it out and flush it down the toilet.

But something held me back.

Just having that hair was not a betrayal.

I hadn’t done anything yet.

It would be safe. Safe in my purse.

I let Ricky in and gave him some fresh water. I rooted around for dog food, and when I found a can I opened it and fed him.

My skin chilled.

Why had I taken that hair?

No. Wasn’t going to think about that right now. It was safe in my purse. I searched the kitchen again and found some eggs and veggies. I thought I’d surprise Ryan with an omelet for breakfast.

A few peppers, tomatoes, and mushrooms later, I’d made two omelets and brewed a pot of coffee. Ryan still hadn’t come out to the kitchen, so I figured I’d go wake him up before the eggs got cold.

I walked to the bedroom and made a quick decision.

I would get rid of that hair in my purse.

I grabbed my clutch and opened it, ready to take out the hair and throw it away, when I noticed I had a new text message.

Stay the fuck away from my son, bitch.
