Zorvak's Rescue: Compatibles by Hannah Davenport (12)

Zorvak

With one hand propping up my head, I laid beside Cami, watching her sleep.  Never had I seen a creature so different, so beautiful.  My fingers played with her silky strands of fiery red hair that fanned around her head.  Her creamy skin felt soft underneath my fingertips, too soft.  The hot sun had turned her shoulders and face a light red, which made her more alluring to me.

My fingertip traced the edges of her jaw with featherlike touches until her eyes fluttered open.  Her lashes kissed her cheeks a couple of times before she raised her eyes to mine and smiled.

“Sorry, I must have fallen asleep.”

I softly brushed the hair away from her face.  “You were tired.”  And beautiful.  And amazing.

She pushed up from the ground and faced me.  I knew what she wanted to know, but instead of asking, she sucked her lower lip between her teeth.  I could look at her odd, beautiful eyes all day.  One hand reached out and hesitated.  I waited.  She dropped her hand onto my abs, tracing each muscle with her forefinger.

My sex jerked, then started to grow.  With curious eyes, she turned to me and asked, “How?”

“How what?”

“How did you do what you did?”  I chuckled, the sound low as it vibrated in the cave.  She couldn’t even say it.  Her hand swatted my chest.  “Stop that.”

I knew what she asked.  Her male species must be similar in some ways, very different in others.  As she stared at my fully erect and very hard sex, a slit opened just below, letting my ha’us snake out, looking for a dark entrance.

Her eyes widened in fascination.  “What is that?”

“It is called a ha’us.  I am guessing human males do not have this.”

She shook her head, her eyes never leaving my sex or the ha’us.  I really didn’t understand the fascination.  It was a little shorter and thinner than my sex.

“What does it do?”  She pulled her eyes away, catching my gaze.

“It is for your pleasure.”  I grinned wickedly as I caught her around the waist and pulled her on top of me.  She gasped and braced her hands on my shoulders.  “Let me show you.”

Slowly, I lowered her down.  Impaled her on both my sex and ha’us, at the same time.  Her sex tightly squeezed mine, to the point of pleasurable pain.  “Tell me what you like?”

With our gazes locked, I felt the intimacy of the situation as she rocked up and down, her hips swirling in a slow sensual dance.

I like it when you talk dirty

Hmm… talk dirty.  I pondered the answer until a wicked grin quirked my lips.   I sat up, wrapped my arms around her.  My lips skimmed her ear as I said, “You mean when I say I want to fuck you?  That is not dirty, Ji’si, that is honesty.”

Her breath hitched with my declaration.  To be so innocent, yet not.  I needed more.  I needed it all.  Holding her hips, I surged forth, filling her completely.  Her nails clawed at my chest.  It didn’t take long to hear her shouts of pleasure as she threw her head back.  Her core clinched my sex tight, trying to suck me in.  That was all it took.  My release shot fast and hard as I basked in the sea of pleasure with each pulse of my sex.

My arms caught her as she collapsed on top of me.  The light in the cavern had all but disappeared, saying it was almost time to leave.  Savoring the feel of her in my arms, her bare skin next to mine, I didn’t want to leave just yet.  The next couple of days would be dangerous.

We laid in silence, only the low sounds of our breathing could be heard until a loud growling noise startled me.

“Sorry,” she said shyly.  “It’s been a while since I’ve had any food.  If you can call it that.”

I grunted.  “It cannot be worse than what they fed me.”

She cocked her head to the side and smiled.  “We will know soon enough.  I’m sure Oddle will feed us when we get there.”

The thought of taking the Jaurians with us still didn’t sit right with me.  It would be dangerous enough without them slowing us down.  With her cheek against my chest, I stroked her back and tried to think of a way to get us all to safety.

We would have to steal a shuttle and head to the space station without getting caught.  The other problem - hiding Camilla from prying eyes.  An unknown species, especially female, would bring an enormous amount of currency on the black market.

I glanced up at the tiny opening in the ceiling.  All the light had all but disappeared.  With one last stroke of her hair, I reluctantly said, “We need to go.”

“I know,” she said with a low, penitent voice.

She pushed up, freeing me from underneath her, and went for her clothes while I grabbed the loincloth.  The shirt she wore shimmied down her lithe body, and then she slid one leg and then the other into her shorts.  I stared in wonderment until she looked up and caught me.

“What?”  she asked as she flipped her hair out from under her shirt.

I shook my head a little.  “You are an odd, beautifully strange creature.”

“Is that an insult or a compliment?”  She furrowed her brow.

I laughed as I held out my hand.  “A compliment.”

Just as we headed out, she tore her hand away from mine.  “Wait!”  She ran back and retrieved the incinerator.  “I almost forgot this.”  She grinned, holding up the incinerator as she walked back to me.

I had the whip coiled in my other hand.  No way I would forget the only weapon I could use.  The fact I forgot the incinerator…I shook my head in annoyance.  I needed to get my mind on the task ahead and not on the female beside me.

The air outside felt good on my skin, more like home.  This would be an easier trek than the one earlier this morning, but we had a lot of ground to cover in a short time.

“How do we avoid the busy streets?  I don’t have my cloak for cover.”

That was a good question, one I didn’t have an answer for.  “We stick to the more secluded pathways.”

“Like back alleys?”

“Yes.  And then we kill anyone who threatens you.”

She stiffened and instantly I felt her aversion to death, but she never said anything.

The moon lit the way as we walked in silence.  I kept my mind on the task to come.  As Captain, I had to be ready for anything.  That was my job.  As I was going over the layout of the space station in my head, Cami broke the silence.

“Tell me about your mother.”

I scrunched my nose at the odd question.  With the dangerous task of getting home, my family was the last thing on my mind.  I glanced in her direction and noted the pained look on her face, but not the cause.  If telling her more about them made her feel better…

“There is not much to tell.  Cadaline, my mother, was a good bond mate who raised us to respect authority, abide by the laws of the house and the land.”

“That sounds so western movie-ish.”

“I do not understand you sometimes.”  I shook my head and continued.  “My father worked as an enforcer.  He was fair, but stern.  Mother was the same.”

“Did you play much?  I mean with your brother and sister?”

My mind drifted back to a time long forgotten.  It wasn’t happy or sad, it just was.  “No.  We busied ourselves with chores and studies.”

“How sad.”

Her response startled me.  It wasn’t sad, it was normal.  With a raised chin, I responded, “It was not.”  I glanced at her from the corner of my eye and noticed she scoffed once and shook her head.  It spurred me onward, to defend my family.  “My sister tried to get me to play, but I had other things that needed tending to.”

“Like what?”

“You ask a lot of questions.”

She ignored me and continued with even more questions.  “Were your parents affectionate?”

“What?  No!  Of course not.”

She stopped short, turned, and stared at me with an incredulous look.  After a mere second, she smiled sadly and said, “Of course they weren’t.”

Irritated, I said sternly, “Tell me about your family.”

She glanced at me, then shrugged her shoulders just before we started walking again.

“Fine.  The air on earth is so bad, Mom refused to let me play outside.  Instead, we baked cookies together, had pillow fights, played dolls.  Anything she could do to make me happy.  Dad was a strong man who I had wrapped around my little finger.  Oh, don’t get me wrong, I had chores to do and I had to mind my manners, but I was happy.  Every night before bedtime, mom tucked me into bed, read me a story, then kissed me goodnight.”  She paused for a moment.  “It’s because of them I became the first female pilot for a deep space mission.  Mom and dad always told me I could do anything I wanted with hard work and dedication.”

“That sounds…,” oddly happy…, “very different than my own.”

“That’s why it’s so important that I get home.  I can’t stand the thought of them suffering.”

I swallowed hard before I admitted the truth.  “Cami…”

“Don’t say it!”  Her words were sharp like a knife.

I stood straight and steeled my spine.  She needed to know the truth.  “When I told you I would take you home, I thought you were from Ulaya.  Your brain patterns are like mine, so close in fact, I never questioned your species.  There is no way to know the location of your planet.”   I am sorry, Cami.

She never responded but I could feel her sorrow and pain tinted with anger.  I imagine I would feel the same way if I could not get back to Ulaya.  Not because of family, but duty.
