Crave To Claim (Myth of Omega Book 3) by Zoey Ellis (14)

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

CAILYN

Cailyn panted, trying to catch her breath as the excruciating pain in her stomach throbbed and slowly faded.

She watched Drocco barking at the midwives as they darted around the room. Of course, there were too many. Drocco had searched out the best fifty midwives in the Eastern Lands and had them all on hand in case she needed them. It was ridiculous, but it wasn’t the most ridiculous thing he had done during her pregnancy.

“Drocco!”

Instantly he was at her side, holding her hand and pressing his forehead against hers.

“Stop getting in their way,” she breathed.

He scowled. “I’m making sure they’re doing what they’re supposed to.”

She tried to chuckle, but could not draw the breath. “And how would you know? Let them do what they came to do.”

“Fine,” Drocco scowled. “But if anything happens to you—”

“Nothing will happen,” she interrupted, unable to stop smiling.

After they had returned from the Omega Compound, Drocco had not let her out of his sight. He needed to have his arms around her all the time at first until he was forced to undertake real Emperor duties. Then he realized that she wanted to follow him anywhere he went anyway. Not only was there nothing much for her to do, but he had a lot of ideas about both the palace and the Empire that she found interesting. They spent a lot of time debating and discussing some of the problems the Empire faced, especially now that Omegas were back in the Ashens for the first time. He had been adamant about not changing any Lox traditions, but she had insisted on the amendment of the gruesome and unnecessary loyalty pledge. He wasn’t happy about it—he felt that the loss of a family member was something one would never forget, especially if they were responsible, but Cailyn pointed out that he was cruelly burdening others with his own grief, and there were other ways to gain deeper loyalty. He was skeptical but could see that she was deadly serious, so he suspended it for the time being.

He ensured that their entire private wing was highly secure and had his Lox Talent-crafters install complicated magical charms to prevent anyone from entering he did not authorize. Additionally, his best warriors guarded the area all day and night. He fretted over the many stairs in the palace and tried to avoid her having to go up or down any. When she became heavy and found it hard to stand for long periods or move around quickly, he actually began carrying her. At first it was just up and down stairs, and then it was to get from one room to another, and then he just stopped putting her down altogether. Once she realized, she demanded that he not treat her like a child. But that did not stop him. In the end, she stayed in their bedroom most of the time in her new nest, and he stayed with her, tracing circles on her round stomach, cuddling her, and purring for her as they talked.

He encouraged her to talk about the Omega Compound as much as she wanted to, especially about Mother Naysa who had sacrificed herself for the good of both Omegas and Alphas. At first, she had nothing to say. She simply sobbed in his arms whenever she thought about it. But soon, she was able to open up and talk not only about what she had found out and learned in her last trip to the compound but also memories from when she was growing up. Drocco found much of it fascinating. He questioned her thoroughly about the the Mothers’ explanations about Omegas and magic, and shared Mother Azia’s conclusions about his own resistance to it. He frequently talked about them visiting the Records Keep together to examine some of the information, and potentially write new records to be included. She found it to be a good sign—a sign that he wanted to encourage the Lands to learn about Omegas again; to be in charge of the conversation about what Omegas needed and how they should be treated.

Their soul-bond settled into a more mellow experience for them both after a few days, although it did flare whenever either of their emotions were strong. According to Drocco’s records, both mates in a soul-bond felt the bond in the same way, but true mates each feel it differently. Drocco said hers was like a gently pulsating flower that opened and closed, while to her, he still felt like a spinning whirlwind. Regardless, the bond was a constant comfort to her.

Another contraction approached quickly and Cailyn grabbed Drocco’s large hand as she endured it, grueling pain rocketing through her. She had already spent most of the night lying on the bed bracing herself against the increasing agony, so after another four contractions, she was ready to give the fuck up. Sweat dripped from every part of her body; her muscles throbbed and contracted all on their own, and the burning pain between her legs was nonstop. Finally, the midwives told her to bear down and push, which she did with all her might, again and again until, finally, the baby was born.

Drocco kissed her, his purr consistent and strong as she collapsed back onto the bed. He turned, keeping his eye on the child as the midwives took her to the basin to wash her, and then wrapped her in a blanket. After another few minutes of further pushing, and cursing about why the fuck it still wasn’t over, the midwives told her she could relax.

As the baby was placed in her arms, Cailyn couldn’t stop the tears. This child was hers. She was actually a mother. Her daughter was so small and wrinkly, it was hard to believe she had been the one to create such a powerful shield.

“I knew she would be beautiful,” Drocco murmured by her ear.

She glanced up at him and smiled. He stared at the baby with that same sense of wonder.

“Hold her, Drocco,” Cailyn said.

His eyebrows rose but he didn’t move.

“Give her to her father, please,” Cailyn said to the nearest midwife, too exhausted to lift the baby herself.

Drocco remained rooted to the spot as the midwife lifted the baby and walked around the bed to place her in Drocco’s arms. Cailyn held her breath, a warmth nestling in her as she watched him looking down at her with all the affection she knew he had held for the child since she conceived. Through the bond, she could feel his wonder and amazement and love. The baby began to fuss, whimper, and cry and Drocco seemed suddenly unsure. He tilted his head, watching her carefully, and then began to purr. The little one settled immediately, her whimpers fading to nothing.

Drocco looked up at Cailyn and grinned.

She stared at him, caught in a wonder of her own. She had never seen him grin before and it transformed his whole face. She could almost imagine him as a younger man. He was so handsome, so ruggedly beautiful, that she wondered what he would have been like if his life had been different—if he had had his mother and his brother and a father he could look up to. That was what she and the baby were to him now; his family.

***

Cailyn smiled as Victoya sat on the side of the bed pulling faces for the baby and speaking to her in a silly voice. “She’s too young for that, Toya.”

Victoya shot her crazed look of disbelief. “She’s not too young for anything. Didn’t you see what a powerful Talent-crafter this girl is going to be? I thought your attack was going to land Mother Azia on her backside.”

Cailyn nodded, her smile fading. “How are the Omegas doing?”

The five hundred Omegas had been given their own wing in the palace. Drocco had arranged servants for them and restricted them to their wing for their safety. Cailyn had visited them regularly when they first came; they’d been extremely excited.

“They send their well wishes and congratulations,” Victoya said. “They have gotten used to the palace now and many of them are eager to take the next step, but they know things will move slowly until after you tend to this one for a while.”

“Did you give them the records about their families?” Cailyn had asked Drocco to arrange for some of the clerks at the Records Keep to source information about each of the Omegas’ families.

Victoya nodded. “They appreciate it, but they don’t remember them. They are keen to connect with an Alpha more than their families.”

Cailyn sighed. “I don’t know how long that will take. Drocco and I are discussing the best way to do it in a manner that will be satisfactory and safe for everyone. His Alphas have been undergoing some kind of preparation to meet them.”

Victoya was silent for a moment. “Do you think Amara would be able to tell things are different when she speaks to the Mothers?”

Cailyn nodded, her mood dropping. One of the arrangements she had made with the Mothers was that spies on existing missions would not be told about anything that had happened until they returned to the compound. At the time, she felt that was fair. She could not contact Amara easily anyway, but at least Amara could visit her when she returned to the Eastern Lands. However, that was before Drocco told her he had revealed to Malloron about the Omegas in Eiros Castle. Of course, they argued about it. Although she understood that Drocco did what he felt he needed to get to her, he’d left the Omegas in that Land unprepared. He strictly told her she was not to concern herself with anything to do with the Eastern Lands, and the agreement also made it impossible for her to try to contact Amara. It had made her feel frustrated and guilty—after all, Drocco wouldn’t have given Malloron that information if he hadn’t been trying to follow her to the compound. It had been Victoya who had helped her come to terms with it—the both of them struggling with the upset and grief for their abandoned sister.

“She is not able to contact the Mothers much in that castle,” Cailyn murmured. “But I have faith she is alert enough to keep herself safe.” She looked at Victoya. “I have to.”

Victoya nodded in agreement before returning to cooing and silly faces. “How are things between you and Drocco?” she asked after a while.

Cailyn smiled. “Good. Having the baby has forced him to deal with the fact he has to be apart from me sometimes. I think that’s good. I don’t think his warriors would respect him if he appeared too weak.”

Victoya shot her a knowing look. “I don’t think they would think that at all. He’s like the creator of all the Lands to them. They love him like he is a brother to each of them.”

Cailyn blinked at her, surprised. “How do you know?”

“I was here for that mission for months, remember?” Victoya began to rock the baby as she became restless. “They are all dedicated to him. Whatever he does and whatever he says, they will follow. I’m glad he is concerned about Omegas.”

Cailyn pursed her lips in thought. She had forgotten about Victoya’s mission to seduce Commander Torin. “I’m sorry I spoiled your mission, Victoya.”

Victoya shrugged. "It would have been a failure anyway. I’m glad it went the way it did."

"Sometimes those kinds of missions take time," Cailyn said. "Sometimes it needs you to be in the right place in the right moment with the right person in order for the mission to move forward. Remember when Amara had to try and seduce that duke? It took a long time before she was even able to get close to him."

Victoya shot Cailyn a wry look. "She failed that mission, Cailyn. It's not a good example."

"The point is, there was nothing she could do until the opportunity arose and that takes time."

"But I did get close to him," Victoya explained. "Plenty of times. He wasn’t interested."

Cailyn frowned. "What do you mean."

"Sometimes he would come to the kitchen's late in the night when I was still doing my chores and he would ask the night chef for some food. And I had plenty of opportunity to speak to him and try to get close to him, but I couldn't."

"Why?"

Victoya shrugged, struggling to find words answer. "I was trying to find a time when I didn't act so… foolish. I was always dropping things, or bumping into things, or saying stupid things, you know what I'm like. Warriors don't want that kind of idiot, they want someone who is sexy and sure of herself and who knows how to give them pleasure."

"Did you do your research on the target?" Cailyn asked, her voice shifting to a more efficient tone. Victoya was allowing her own personal insecurities to get in the way, and that was causing her to feel like she was failure. "You know for sure that that's the kind of woman he's looking for?"

Victoya shook her head. "There is barely any information about him. I have no idea what he likes, but it makes sense to go with what the majority of men like, isn't it?"

"You can never know unless you try. You never spoke to him at all?"

"Once," Victoya admitted. "I was cleaning the candle holders in the library, and he asked me what my name was. I stuttered like an idiot and barely managed to get my name out before he walked away. He must have thought I was so dumb to stumble over my own name."

Cailyn sensed something in Victoya’s tone that made her smile. “You like him.”

"No," Victoya said, frowning. "I mean, he's… handsome. And very good looking. He can fight—he trains the Lox warriors. And he’s fair and clever. He treats servants the same as the warriors. And I’ve never seen him with a woman… but I don’t like him in that way. He was a target, that is all."

Cailyn nodded slowly, a smile spreading across her face. “That is all?”

Victoya’s cheeks reddened under her scrutiny. She averted her eyes back to the baby. “He wouldn’t like me,” she said quietly.

“No,” Cailyn agreed. “He wouldn’t like the strong, clever Omega who helped to persuade the other Omegas to rejoin society.” She leaned forward to place her hand on Victoya’s. “You were amazing in the compound, Victoya. I have never seen you so sure of yourself and confident and passionate before. That was your first mission. And you excelled. Amara would be proud of you. I know I am.”

Victoya’s smile lit up her face.

“And anyway,” Cailyn said pointedly. “Torin does like you.”

Victoya’s brows rose. “How do you know?”

Cailyn had only seen Commander Torin during the times when Drocco had an Imperial engagement or when they were in discussion about something. His general attitude toward her had greatly improved since she last saw him, though he kept his distance, which wasn’t surprising considering the way Drocco behaved when anyone moved too close to her. Victoya had asked to be Cailyn’s assistant and she managed a group of others who supported and assisted Cailyn’s activities in the palace and Empire as the Empress. So there had been times when both Torin and Victoya had been in the same vicinity. “He watches you when you’re not looking. All the time.”

Victoya twisted her mouth to one side and looked down at the now sleeping baby as she thought. “That may not mean much,” she said finally. “I think he is suspicious of me now that I have turned out to be an Omega.”

Cailyn shook her head. “A man doesn’t look at a woman like that because of suspicion.”

A knock at the door interrupted Victoya’s response.

“That’s probably the midwife checking up,” Cailyn said with a tinge of annoyance. Drocco had the midwives checking on her every half hour.

“That’s all right, I have some work to get back to anyway.” Victoya rose and placed baby in her arms. “See you tomorrow?”

She kissed Cailyn’s cheek and the baby’s and departed.

The midwife entered the room a little cautiously. It was a new one that Cailyn hadn’t seen before. She was slim with dark brown hair and dressed in a worn forest green tunic. She tentatively looked around the room before approaching the bed.

“Don’t worry,” Cailyn said, smiling. “The Emperor isn’t in here to interrogate you. You can come in.”

The woman stepped closer to the bed until she stood beside Cailyn. She took a moment to take her in and then turned her attention to the child.

Cailyn watched her, a little confused. Usually midwives took the child to examine her and asked loads of questions. “Do you want to take her?”

The woman’s green eyes widened. She inched forward and slowly took the sleeping child, her face a picture of wonder. Cailyn watched her amused. She looked both nervous and amazed.

“Have you named her yet?” the woman asked, her voice thin and shaky.

“Yes, it’s Nayara,” Cailyn said. She lowered her voice inspirationally, trying to get the woman to relax. “We’re announcing it tomorrow.”

The woman nodded, unable to take her eyes off the child. “Does it have any significance?”

Cailyn sighed. “Yes. It is a combined name of two women who made sacrifices for me. I didn’t get to thank them.”

The woman lifted her head and smiled. “I did the same. I named my daughter after her grandmothers, Kayah and Lynara.”

Cailyn grinned back at her. “It is a common practice. What is your daughter’s name?”

“Cailyn.”

Cailyn froze, her heart pounding in her chest.

The woman held her gaze, her eyes filling with tears.

“You are my… Beta mother?” Cailyn whispered.

The woman nodded. “You have become a beautiful woman, Cailyn,” she said, wiping tears from her cheeks. “And your daughter is indeed beautiful too.”

Cailyn was speechless for a long moment. “How…?”

“The Emperor sent for us,” the woman said.

“Us?”

“Your father and I,” she clarified. “He is in our quarters—the Emperor wanted you and I to meet first. Your brothers are back at the farm but they are keen to meet you too.”

Cailyn swallowed, trying to pull herself together. She hadn’t expected Drocco to bring her parents to the palace. They had discussed it but she had assumed that maybe they would go to visit them once the baby was a little older. She already knew she wouldn’t be meeting any of siblings from her Omega mother until they finished their missions. She observed the woman before her. “Drocco told me you raised me.”

The woman nodded. She came closer to Cailyn to hand the baby back to her. “I raised you until you were five.” She straightened, wringing her hands. “But I know you’ve had so many mothers. I don’t expect you to want us in your life now. I just wanted to see you and…”

Cailyn gazed at her. The woman shifted from foot to foot, her eyes bore into Cailyn, and her hands shook. “I have only had one woman truly raise me,” Cailyn said gently. “And that is you. Of course I want to get to know you and my family. I am so grateful you came.”

Immediately the woman exhaled out a trembly breath and her body relaxed.

“I am curious,” Cailyn asked, hesitantly. “Why did you stay with my father after what happened?”

The woman moved to sit on the bed. “I suppose it seems strange that I did,” she said, stroking Nayara’s head. “I planned to leave after your brother was settled—he was born not long before you—but then your father came home with you and I was smitten. I always intended to leave, but if I did, I couldn’t take you with me—you are his child. And although he admitted his heart would now always belong to another, he was desperately sorry for it, in his own way. He made significant efforts to make up for it. As time went on, I realized he is an exceptional man in a lot of ways; a great father and a successful farmer with a lot of land. If I took my child and left him and you, I’m not sure I would have been any happier. Especially not without you. By the time you were taken, I had forgiven him. And the loss of you was something we shared—something that healed us to some degree. We don’t have any other daughters.” She lowered her voice to a whisper. “I really missed you.”

“I’m so sorry you suffered,” Cailyn said softly. “But you still have a daughter. And a granddaughter too. It’s not too late.”

The woman’s face brightened and two of them shared a warm smile as the baby began to wriggle and whimper.

Cailyn tried to hush her. “She is hungry,” she muttered, making a face.

“That’s a bad thing?”

“I struggle to feed her sometimes.”

Her Beta mother rose from the bed and moved close to her side. “Let’s see if we can make it easier.”

***

Cailyn roamed the Great Hall, her eyes on everything as she wondered what she could do to improve what was happening.

It was the first attempt for Alphas and Omegas to meet, and although a few seemed to be talking, most of the Omegas huddled together and the Alphas stood staring at them from across the hall. Her attempts to encourage Alphas to talk to them was met with a stony silence, while the Omegas just seemed excitedly terrified.

She headed to Victoya who stood by a table in the middle. “What the hell is wrong with them?” she said, exasperated. “After all this preparation, they don’t even talk.”

“They look scared to me,” Victoya said, popping a block of cheese into her mouth and grinning. “I bet the Emperor threatened his Alphas to within an inch of their lives.”

Cailyn scowled. That was probably true. Drocco could be so heavy-handed sometimes. She tapped her fingers on the table, looking at the clock. She had dropped Nayara off with her Beta mother and she only had a couple of hours to make sure everything was going well.

“It would speed things along if the Omegas weren’t all blocked,” Victoya joked. “But that would probably progress things a little too quickly.”

“I’m glad you’re finding this funny,” Cailyn muttered.

Victoya tiled her head and smiled. “Cailyn, I know this is important to you, but it’s the first try. It will take time.”

Cailyn sighed. “I guess.” Suddenly her legs trembled and she gripped the table for support.

“Are you well?” Victoya asked, grabbing her arm.

Cailyn straightened. Since the Nayara’s birth two months ago, an exhaustion had grown in her that she couldn’t shake. It could be because she had been so focused on trying to move things along for the Omegas—it had been non-stop, even though Drocco had tried to force her to relax. “I’m all right,” she breathed.

However, the whirlwind in her chest spun rapidly, threads of concern and unhappiness winding through it.

She turned to look at Drocco up on the platform, and he was rising from his throne slowly, his stormy eyes on her.

“Oh no,” Victoya blurted out. “Commander Torin is heading over here.”

“Good,” Cailyn said firmly, turning back to her. “He’s been watching you the whole afternoon. It’s about time he did something—he’s probably worried one of these Alphas will claim you.”

“But I’ve got cheese breath!” Victoya whispered harshly.

Torin arrived before Cailyn could respond.

“Emperor Drocco would like you to join him, Empress,” he said.

Cailyn smiled. He seemed even more formal than usual and she had the feeling it was because of Victoya. “Thank you, Torin. I was just discussing with Toya if maybe the Alphas are being overly cautious due to their preparation training. Maybe you could introduce her to one to encourage the others?”

Cailyn did not miss the annoyance that flared in his eyes before he schooled it. She hoped Victoya saw it too.

“I will do what I can, Empress,” he responded stiffly. “Please go straight to the Emperor, he is not a fan of waiting.”

Cailyn grinned at Victoya, who now looked uncomfortably nervous, and turned to the platform.

Drocco watched her make her way through the crowd and then sat down as she climbed the platform. He had Grence specialists make her a throne that matched his own, but as soon as she was within reach, he scooped her up and settled her on his lap.

“Drocco,” she exclaimed, alarmed. “Let me go to my seat.”

He pressed her to his chest, in a position they had frequently sat in in front of the fire in her lodge. She half-heartedly struggled to get up, knowing he wouldn’t allow it if he didn’t want her to.

“Drocco,” she whispered. “We are not in a private environment.”

He began to purr and she relaxed for a moment, comforted by it. The low murmur that had existed in the hall died away and, glancing behind her, she was slightly mortified that almost every person in the hall had turned to watch them.

“Drocco,” she whispered again. “Your Alphas will see you with me like this. It’s not… Imperial behavior.”

The slow smile that spread on Drocco’s face told her he just didn’t give a fuck.

Once she realized he didn’t plan to release her, she finally relaxed in his arms, smiling back at him and enjoying his scent and his attention. She simply let go of all concerns and worries and looked into his beautiful eyes, enjoying being with her Alpha. As she stared at him, the whirlwind within her mellowed and the powerful feeling at its core seemed to spread a soothing throughout her whole body. The longer she absorbed everything about him, the deeper the soothing, and soon, the exhaustion within her entire body had almost disappeared. She sighed, pressing her cheek against his chest and satisfaction laced the whirlwind.

She didn’t know how long she sat there, but time seemed to stand still.

Eventually, she became aware of where they were again. Glancing behind her, she was shocked to see the Alphas and Omegas talking to each other—fully integrated and mingling in the hall. She was pleased to see Victoya against a wall with Commander Torin leaning over her, his hand on the wall caging her in as he spoke. She looked positively surprised, but also glowing. Cailyn grinned.

Drocco used a finger on her chin to turn her face back to him, the whirlwind becoming a blazing rush of desire. Her brows rose. He liked her smile! Her grin deepened and so did his desire. The change in his scent caused that familiar tingle between her legs.

Drocco suddenly stood up, holding her in his arms. The entire hall went silent again. Without saying a word, he carried her out of the hall, stalking toward their private wing. She knew where he was heading and the slick between her legs increased.

He entered their bedroom and lay her on the bed. He straightened and began to remove his clothes. “Take off your clothes.”

Cailyn hesitated, uncertainty gripping her.

After they returned from the compound, their matings had been intense but never as good as before. Drocco had been holding back, trying to be careful with her, and that wasn’t what she wanted. However, she had been pregnant so she understood. His healer, who frequently examined her, may have even told him to be careful. However, after Nayara had been born, she’d been uncomfortable being naked. Her body had changed so much that she needed the protection of clothes any time they mated.

“Take them off.” Drocco’s husky voice caused her slick to gather and drip even more. But she couldn’t move to do what he wanted.

Drocco slowly climbed on the bed, his bulky muscles tensing as he lowered down her body. His long, thick cock was ready for her, but he pushed her skirt up to her hips, hooked his hands behind her knees, and spread them apart.

“Drocco,” she murmured as he bent closer to kiss the soaked crotch of her panties. “I can’t.”

“You will.” His warm tongue licked the slick on her slippery thighs and his rumble of satisfaction made her moan. He pressed his mouth to her pussy and began to lick and suck, but her panties were in the way.

“Drocco,” she whimpered, after a moment. “Take my panties off.”

“Take off your clothes.”

Cailyn groaned, arching her back and spreading her legs wider as he pulled on her clit. “I can’t.”

“Do it now.”

With a whine, she began to pull off her half-tunic and skirt. As she did, Drocco ran his hands up her body, his rough hands kneading her hips and flabby stomach as they made their way to her breasts. She froze, suddenly unsure again.

Drocco rose up, his eyes shining. “Off.”

She removed her clothes but crossed her arms over her body, her head turning away from him. Within her, the whirlwind spun faster with a raw, intense longing that made her turn back to gape at him. He still madly desired her.

He lowered and sucked a sensitive nipple into his mouth. As he gently worked it, she uncrossed her arms and ran her hands over his chest, sighing and breathing in his scent. He licked up her chest and kissed her neck before closing his mouth over hers. As he kissed her, deep and slow, he slipped off her panties.

He pulled away and looked into her eyes. “This body is mine,” he murmured. “I told you that. You don’t get to hide it from me.”

“Drocco,” Cailyn said, her voice barely a whisper. “It’s different now. I have marks and—”

“It is incredible now,” Drocco said, lowering a hand to rub the loose skin on her lower stomach, over the web of crinkled marks. “It is molded for me and for our daughter and for our future children. I am proud when I look at it. I am proud you are my Omega, Cailyn. I gave you time to deal with this and now I want it. I want to see this body when I fuck you.”

Cailyn pressed her lips together and nodded. She could feel the sincerity of every word through the whirlwind and it echoed into the soothing that filled every part of her.

Drocco lowered between her legs again and ran his tongue along her pussy. He licked, teased, and sucked every part of her, skimming her clit with his tongue and his lips until she writhed for release. She spread her legs and humped her hips, pushing her pussy to his mouth. Drocco sucked her clit into his mouth and then brushed it with his tongue in a steady rhythm until a wave of gorgeous bliss crashed into her and she arched and bucked into his face.

She lay panting as the orgasm faded, but Drocco rose and immediately pushed his thick cock into her. She gasped as it slid in, widening her legs and humming when he was buried deep inside. He began to fuck her slowly, looming over her, his eyes locked onto hers. She rocked her hips to meet his, the deep penetration making her breathless.

Drocco increased his thrusts and Cailyn whimpered at the unbelievable pleasure of the intense stretch. Within moments, he went wild. He slammed into her, hard and rough. Through the bond, she could feel the depth of his savage passion for her. It ran so deep, so pure, that every inch of her rejoiced. Her climax rose rapidly, but when his hand rubbed along her lower stomach, she was suddenly at the peak of ecstasy—that blissful, volatile, rapture overpowering every part of her. Even then within the bond, Drocco’s amazement, admiration, and fierce desire for her heightened her senses, pushing her climax into another, and another, and another. By the time she came down, he held her against him tightly, his knot stretching her wide, his lips on her ear murmuring how incredible she was. She breathed heavily, limp and exhausted in his arms wondering what the hell had happened.

“You’re never wearing clothes again,” Drocco decided, his murmur low and raspy.

Cailyn laughed weakly. “How can I do anything with no clothes, Drocco?”

“You don’t need to do anything.” Drocco arms tightened. “You just stay here with me.”

Cailyn smiled up at him, embracing the intense love that glowed within her from the bond. “I am with you, my Alpha. Always.”
