Dodge, Bounty Hunters Book Three: Diamonds aren't the only things women want - sometimes they want revenge. by PJ Fiala (20)

You have the coolest shit

She tried not to fidget in her chair but that just hit her right between the legs. The dampness and tingling down there made her positively uncomfortable now. She started it but, shit, she never dreamed he'd spike back that volley she lobbed.

Mags chuckled under her breath and Jax knew she was watching her. The woman was scary, she didn't miss anything. She acted like the nice southern woman, but Mags was running some scams here and she couldn't wait to get back in the car and find out what they'd captured on her microphone. Another truck pulled up outside and the routine was no doubt about to happen again. It was a great time to get outside while she was busy, that woman made her nervous. She was too watchful. Too calm for a woman running something under the radar in public. She sighed in relief when she heard the bathroom door open. Swiping her lipstick and phone she tucked them into her little clutch and walked to stand in front of the door. Dodge walked slowly toward her, glancing at the signs taped to the wall as he neared her. She felt jittery for some reason and she wanted to run from this place. Dodge saw her standing there and grinned and son-of-a-bitch, her nipples puckered. This just had to stop, this flirty thing they were doing.

He reached her finally and grabbed her hand. They exited the building and she breathed a sigh just to be out of there, the walls had felt as if they were closing in for some reason. Instead of taking her to the car, he pulled her to the little gazebo that stood in the town square.

"What are you doing?"

He stepped up into the gazebo, pulling her with him. Before she could grasp what he was about, he spun her around, wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled his phone up, taking a selfie with her. He snapped a few times then pulled her across the gazebo and took a few pictures of her by herself.

"Smile, Jax. We're on a road trip. New lovers and all."

The man who sat with Mags last exited the cafe and Dodge snapped a few more pictures with him in the background. Then it dawned on her what he was about. Smart.

They stood together in the gazebo and as the man backed up his truck Dodge pulled her into his arms and kissed her on the lips. Full on lip contact. Surprised, she froze, not sure what to do. Then his lips began moving over hers, teasing and softly caressing them. His tongue licked slowly across her bottom lip before his lips sealed over hers, their fullness so soft and sexy against hers. His tongue then slid into her mouth and danced with her tongue and any air she had in her lungs escaped. She felt like she was floating on a cloud, his strong arms wrapped around her, her body pulled tightly to his. A moan escaped from her throat and she heard it but then again it didn't register that it was her voice. His hand dove into her hair and grasped a handful of the glossy locks and she pulled her hips forward to rub herself on his thigh.

Every nerve ending was on fire. Her entire body was on fire.

He stopped kissing her lips and kissed along her jaw, over to her ear before swirling his tongue along the shell. Goose flesh erupted down her arms, across her back, down her belly and then it all pooled right. Between. Her. Legs.

She grabbed handfuls of his shirt to steady herself. Gulping in large quantities of air to get her bearings once again.

His head lifted slightly, as he stared into her eyes he slowly husked out, "Don't tease me again, Jax. I'm not a toy for you to play with. I'm a man, with needs and I happen to find you very sexy." To point out his comment further, he pulled her body tightly to his and she felt the steel rod he carried in his jeans and her knees shook.

Well, hell.

"You two often erupt into public displays of affection?"

Dodge straightened and took a step back. His arm wrapped around her shoulders, but he kept his front pointing at her side. Wouldn't do any good to show their visitor how much he'd erupted.

Dodge responded. "Once in a while. Is there an ordinance or something?"

The man who spoke to them was older than the dirt he stood on. His tanned, wrinkled skin sagged off his face. He wore bibbed overalls, a long sleeve flannel shirt, which wouldn't seem so out of place if the temperature wasn't already into the eighties and rising steadily. A brown cowboy hat was perched on his head, hands in his pockets and a grin on his face.

"Nope, no ordinance. We just don't see much of that in this town. We don't see much of anything here actually."

"We're sorry, Mister..." She hoped to get his name.

"Stan. No mister, just Stan'll do."

She smiled to put him at ease. "We're sorry, Stan. It's such a cute town square."

He chuckled. "I'd not push Mags too far if I were you. She runs things here and she'll give you a bit of leeway, but not too much."

Dodge leaned down and shook Stan's hand. "Mags doesn't like kissing?"

Stan smiled then and the few teeth he had left were a bit crooked. He leaned in and lowered his voice. "You see her? I'd say it's been years since that woman was kissed." He guffawed, purely entertained by himself.

Jax laughed she was so surprised by his comment. "We'll be moving on soon. We just wanted a couple of pictures." She stepped down from the gazebo and shook Stan's hand. "Mags sure seems to have a lot of male visitors for a woman who hasn't been kissed in a while."

Stan nodded, his lips thinned, then his tongue darted out to wet them. "That's all her bullshit business and extortion going on in there." Stan turned and walked to the closed store that sold corks and opened the door, disappearing inside.

Dodge stepped down and took her hand, leading her to the car. "Let's go, Little Mama."

Climbing inside the car, she waited until he pulled away from the gazebo and began driving out of town. Pulling up her phone, she tapped Josh's number, and then hit the speaker icon.

"You got some great stuff there. Are you gone now?"

"Yeah, where will we find you?"

"Just south of town about a half mile. We're at the loneliest gas station you ever laid eyes on. Keep driving past, we'll follow then pass you to lead to our destination."

"On our way." Ending the call she looked at Dodge's profile. Pulling out her lip gloss container she wiggled it in his sight. "Microphone, which attaches to my phone with one tap. Our designer calls it the iListen."

"You all do have the coolest shit."
