CHAPTER 9: Elena
I ripped off my long-sleeved shirt when we were in Liam’s room, tossing it to the floor as he unhooked my pale, pink bra. “Never with a student?” I asked as he kissed my skin.
“No. I slept with another teacher once and realized that I should keep it away from work pretty quickly.” I hated the idea of him with an older, better woman as I felt the jealousy flood me. “That was a long time ago, Elena. A few years. I haven’t wanted anyone on campus until I saw you.”
“What happens when this goes wrong?” I asked him painfully as he pulled me closer to him.
“I thought about that a lot before ever doing this. I don’t know. I suppose we just wait for the class to end if it happens before that,” he replied, breaking my heart as I imagined being without him. “Let’s not talk about that, Elena. We’re still fine. I still want this with you.”
“Good. Me, too,” I told Liam as I pressed back against him and smiled. I wanted to ask what would happen if it didn’t end but I remained quiet. We fell asleep without setting the alarm that night, but I woke up with a jerk and looked around to see that it was four o clock. Liam breathed evenly beside me as I sucked in my breath and considered what to do. I could go to sleep for another hour and a half, cuddled in his arms or just go home in the cold darkness. I didn’t have class until noon and he just had office time so we could be here together for longer.
