Overdrive (Santa Lena Sizzles series Book 3) by Jessa York (4)

3

Vivienne

What the actual hell was I doing? And why? All because I didn’t want to look like a wuss in front of our hot driver. Why Jason waited for us at the restaurant—for three hours—didn’t know. The only thing I knew for sure right then was that my girl parts were dancing around as he held my hand in his big hot one. He smirked down at me while the top of my dress skimmed my nipple. Sheesh, just the look on his face alone made my panties almost explode.

His stare fell lower to my breasts, causing them to swell. I cursed my already taut nipples for betraying my thoughts. My thighs clenched together, remembering how thoroughly he worshiped my breasts all those months ago.

I had to stop thinking about sex.

“Son of a biscuit,” I cried but didn’t move. No sense in going through all that pain if you moved and screwed everything up. At least the stinging torture relieved the agony of the sexual tension for the moment.

“You’re doing phenomenal. So brave. Just a bit longer, then you’ll be all done,” he said as he used a cool towel to carefully mop the beads of sweat on my forehead.

He was being so nice. “Easy for you to say since yours is already done.”

I flinched at the sound of the tattoo gun starting back up. “Can you give us a few minutes?” Jason asked the artist, who immediately obliged, then sauntered off to a back room. “Look at me,” Mr. Hot and Heavy said in a husky, low voice. I stared up at his handsome movie star face and melted. It just wasn’t fair to be that pretty. He leaned in closer, his warm breath on the bare skin of my neck and chest driving me mad. The slightly leathery smell of his jacket mixed with the earthy cologne he wore made me yearn to drag his hot body onto mine. “He’s almost done, Fancy Girl. It looks gorgeous. Just like you,” he said, then touched his lips to my hand. A blush traveled down my body. My breathing sped up, as did my heart. The traitors.

“Why are you being so nice to me, when I…” I began.

He grinned, taking over. “Kicked me out of your bed?” he asked without a hint of malice in his voice. In fact, he seemed to enjoy having me on my back, exposed and vulnerable. “Honestly? I’ve missed the fuck out of you every day for three months. I tried to move on. Normally, it’s not an issue.” His eyes blazed into mine and stopped my heart. “But now? Now it’s an issue. You’ve ruined me for all other girls.”

A burst of laughter bubbled up and out. The idea that this beautiful man had been unable to move on from me was absurd. “Yeah, I have that effect on men,” I said, wiping the tears under my eyes as I prayed my mascara stayed put.

“I’m not going to lie and say I haven’t tried to find someone else. I have. What I’m telling you is that I’ve been rather,” he stopped and lowered his head before bringing it up with the most intense look on his face, “unsuccessful at each and every attempt.”

What did he just say? He couldn’t be serious? I had a sixth sense about liars. His body language, eyes, and aura all pointed to the truth.

“Except, of course, when I’m in the shower with my hand around my cock, thinking about your hot, luscious body underneath mine.”

“It was one night,” I whispered, barely able to breathe at his shocking confession.

“One night was all it took.”

Jason

Just one little tug. That was all it would take. One gentle pull on the strap of her dress and all of that sexy goodness would explode out for me to see. Stop thinking about it, you pervert. Who’d blame me? This voluptuous woman sat before me with her dress slid down off one shoulder. Her cleavage was astounding before, but now it was mind-blowingly beautiful.

Come on. Anyone with a pulse would look. Her smell still intoxicated me, like citrus with a hint of flowers. I could easily sit here all night with her, but I’d rather not. I’d rather scoop her up, leave her friends behind, and rush to her place where I could finally, finally, finally slip that dress off.

Here we sat. The most entrancing blush rose up after I kissed her hand and laid my heart on my sleeve. Her tanned skin was so soft and flawless, the look on her face priceless. I’d surprised her with my blunt, truthful words.

I could see her pulse beat quickly in her neck and she nearly panted from breathing so rapidly. Currently, her nipples stood at attention, much like my dick. Fuck, I needed to get this woman out of here. Now.

“Are you all right to continue?” The tattoo artist returned. Vivienne stared at me with her amazing eyes silently questioning me. I reached down to caress her face, moving her hair behind an ear.

“What do you say? Can you handle more?” Like a whole lot more, I hoped. Not just from the tattoo gun. She hesitated, her breath catching. Come on, baby. It wasn’t time to back out of this now. Hang on just a bit longer.

“Yeah, I’m good. Just freaked out for a minute there,” she told him, not taking her eyes off mine.

“Happens to the best of us. No worries,” the guy said as he started up the gun again. She clutched onto my hand harder when he touched her with his black gloved hands.

Buzz, wipe, buzz, wipe, buzz, wipe. Almost hypnotic, if it wasn’t your skin being punctured. “I bet this is the last place you thought you’d end up tonight,” I said, trying to get her mind off her current situation.

“Yeah, how a steak supper turned into me getting my first tattoo, I’ll never know,” she said through gritted teeth.

“Well, it’ll be a night you never forget,” I told her, hoping she understood the double meaning, because there was no way in hell this woman would ever forget tonight with me. I’d see to that.

“You have a very suggestive way of speaking, young driver,” she said sarcastically, squinting her eyes at me.

“Ah, but we young guys are extremely virile.” She went there. I didn’t think she would. Why did people have hang-ups over age? Yeah, Vivienne was older than me. I wasn’t sure by how much—maybe ten years. Who cared? It wasn’t like everyone acted their age, and besides, it was life’s experiences that molded and shaped you more so than how many times you passed the twelve month mark. Christ, if I had a nickel for every forty year old man who acted sixteen…

That had made her smile so huge her perfect teeth showed. Hopefully I gave her enough incentive to drop the age thing. It made not one bit of difference to me. Truth be told, I adored older women. I loved their sophistication and confidence. While a lot of girls my age still had their heads in the clouds, older women knew what they wanted. In all forms, places—and rooms.

“I’m going to tip you all the way up. You can check it out and tell me if there’s something you would like me to change or add. If not, we’re all done,” the tat guy said, shifting the chair back up while handing her a big mirror. Her eyes got teary and my heart stopped beating, scared that she regretted her decision.

“Oh my gosh, I love it. Thank you so much, Axel. You’re incredibly talented,” she said, wiping a tear away with one hand. I grabbed the shaking mirror to help her hold it. She mouthed a “thank you” to me.

“He did a fantastic job. It’s a great design, too,” I said, wanting more information about why she chose what she did.

“Yeah, it represents something I long for,” she said mysteriously, not meeting my eyes. I let it go. Obviously, she didn’t want to discuss it right then.

Finally, it was time to pack up her friends and go. My own tat was starting to fire up and get a bit uncomfortable. Hmm, I wished I had some Tylenol with me.

“Wow, Vivienne, that looks fantastic on you,” Harper told her, staring in awe at her chest for a different reason than I was.

“It is pretty, isn’t it? Almost worth all the screaming,” Vivienne answered back.

“You didn’t scream at all,” Riley countered, a serious look on her face.

“I screamed inside the whole time,” she reiterated, and everyone laughed.
