Stood Up (The Family Jules Book 3) by Sean Ashcroft (29)

Chapter Thirty-One

“This is nice,” Riley said, sipping his beer and sitting back, basking in the happiness all around him. Charlie and Scott’s wedding had gone exactly as expected, with all the love and laughter they deserved.

“Yeah,” Brent agreed beside him. “Thanks for talking me into coming.”

“Thank you for agreeing to be my date.” Riley grinned. “I’m sure you had a lot of very tempting offers.”

Brent snorted. “Just the one, actually. But it came from someone I can’t say no to. Even if I’m traumatized about weddings for life.”

“Consider this exposure therapy,” Riley said. “I’ll only take you to nice, harmless weddings to start with. We’ll work our way up to the weird skydiving ones.”

“I’m not going skydiving,” Brent said. “I’ll wait on the ground.”

“I don’t actually want to go skydiving, either.” Riley sipped his beer again. “Now, bungee jumping…”

“Nope. Nuh uh. You can go, but I’m waiting on the bridge.”

“You’re a lot smarter than I am,” Riley said, smiling to himself.

He was still shocked that Brent wanted him in his life. That he’d been willing to tell Emily this was a thing now, that he was letting himself be seen in public with someone like Riley.

Not that he wasn’t grateful, but some days, he still expected to wake up and realize it was all a really intense dream.

Less so, now. He was starting to feel like he was sure of Brent. Like this was real, and it was forever.

“I hope you’re not expecting a marriage proposal today,” Riley said. “Even if you do catch the bouquet.”

Charlie and Scott were both preparing to throw their buttonhole flowers, which was close enough to a bouquet that people were lining up behind them in the hopes of catching one.

“I hope not,” Brent said. “Still traumatized. Besides, I don’t need a proposal from you. I know I have you. That’s enough.”

“Good,” Riley said.

Secretly, he would have liked to be married to Brent one day. Not today, though. They had time. They were both still discovering themselves and each other.

Riley knew in his heart that they were forever, and that was enough for him, too.

A cheer rippled through the crowd as Charlie tossed his flowers. Riley could barely contain how happy he was for him, how glad he was that his little brother had found someone to share his life with.

He looked over at Brent just in time to see the flowers collide with the side of his head. Brent caught them automatically, his normally pale face draining of all remaining color as he looked between the flowers in his hand and Riley.

Riley burst into laughter. He had to set his beer down to stop himself from spilling it, his whole body shaking as he laughed and laughed at the look on Brent’s face, at the whole ridiculous situation.

The laughter spread through the rest of the crowd, everyone joining in as Riley wiped tears away from his eyes.

Brent’s mouth was still hanging open, shock making him stare directly at Riley.

“I didn’t even mean to…”

“I know,” Riley said. “They hit you in the head.”

Brent nodded. “You’re not gonna…?”

“No.” Riley stood, walking around the table and reaching out to offer Brent his hand. “No proposal, promise. But I do have something else in mind.”

Brent wet his lips, and then after only a moment’s hesitation, took Riley’s hand, standing as well.

“You’re not gonna embarrass me?”

Riley snorted. “Frequently, but not right now. I figure you’ve had enough wedding for today.”

“I don’t wanna run home on Charlie and Scott,” Brent said.

“We’re not.” Riley darted in to peck his lips. “I still have a room here.”

Riley watched as understanding dawned over Brent’s features, his cheeks flushing and the tips of his ears going red. He nodded silently, squeezing Riley’s hand, a tiny signal that he should lead the way.

Riley didn’t need to be told twice, dragging Brent through the crowd and into the house eagerly, their footsteps bouncing on the stairs as Riley tugged Brent toward his old bedroom.

It was always exactly the way he left it, minus any laundry he’d left behind and with clean, fresh sheets. He didn’t deserve his mom, but he was grateful to have her.

He didn’t deserve Brent either, but he intended to work on that.

Riley flicked the lock on the door, then turned Brent around and pushed him back against it, kissing him eagerly.

“Do you have any idea how many times I fantasized about this before I left home?” Riley asked between kisses, reaching out to tuck a stray strand of hair behind Brent’s ear.

A pretty pink blush colored Brent’s cheeks. “Yeah?”

“Yeah.” Riley smiled a slow, warm smile at him. “I was so innocent back then. I just wanted to kiss you.”

“I wanted to kiss you, too,” Brent said. “But I really am glad we waited. We weren’t ready for each other back then.”

“I still want to kiss you.” Riley darted close to peck Brent on the lips, then took a half step back and dropped to his knees as elegantly as he could on the hard floorboards beneath him. “I’d just like to try it a little lower down.”

Brent’s eyes widened as he stared down at Riley, his mouth hanging open.

“You’ve been very patient with my enthusiasm for weddings all day,” Riley said. “You’ve earned this.”

“I thought you didn’t earn sex,” Brent said. Riley didn’t specifically remember telling him that, but it did sound like something he’d say.

“You don’t. I’m making an excuse to do something I want to do. You’re all dressed up. You look great. I wanna mess you up a little.”

Brent blushed again. “I wasn’t saying no,” he mumbled, his gaze moving to Riley’s lips.

Riley grinned, taking that as permission to unbuckle Brent’s belt and open his fly, pushing his neatly-pressed pants halfway down his thighs so they’d be out of the way.

His mouth watered as he took in the promising bulge in the front of Brent’s underwear. Brent filled out a pair of boxer-briefs like an underwear model.

“Have I told you today that you’re beautiful?” Riley looked up at Brent, meeting his eyes.

“Only like a hundred times before we left,” Brent said, smiling a soft, fond smile.

“Good, that’s about the number of times you should hear it every day.” Riley hooked his thumbs into the waistband of Brent’s underwear, pulling them down in one swift movement and letting them catch around his thighs, too.

He laughed as Brent’s cock sprang free, already half-hard. Riley hadn’t expected Brent to be as eager as he’d turned out to be about sex, but he wasn’t ever going to complain about that. The closeness of mutual orgasms was good for Riley’s soul.

Riley leaned in to press a kiss to the shaft, holding the flat of his tongue against it as Brent spread his legs wider, his head banging against the door.

“Gotta be quiet, or the people downstairs will hear,” Riley reminded him.

Brent whimpered softly, pursing his lips together in a failed attempt to keep the sound from escaping.

This was gonna be fun.

They couldn’t afford to go missing for too long, or someone would come looking, so it was a race to get Brent off. That made it all the more exciting, and Riley’s stomach swooped as he leaned in, licking a stripe along the shaft and then sucking the head of Brent’s cock into his mouth, letting the familiar weight of it sit on his tongue.

He loved doing this for Brent. He loved the sounds Brent made, the way he whimpered and moaned, the way he was after, soft and pliant and satisfied. Cuddly, too, though they wouldn’t have much of a chance to cuddle this time.

There was always later. One of the things Riley was still getting used to was that there’d always be later. That he and Brent were staying together this time, building a home.

They even had a dog together. That was probably the part that made it easiest to believe.

Brent’s fingers brushed through Riley’s hair, not pulling or tugging, just touching. It was the fond, gentle touch of a lover, and Riley was never going to get enough of it.

Riley closed his eyes, sealing his lips around Brent’s cock to put a little pressure on it, wrapping his fingers around the shaft. If he took Brent all the way into his throat, it’d ruin his voice for a few hours, and then everyone would know what they’d been doing.

Not that Riley minded people knowing that he got to have very regular sex with his hot boyfriend, but Brent was a little on the shy side.

Brent’s fingers tightened in Riley’s hair as he sucked just a tiny bit harder on his cock, stroking the shaft in time with the movements of his mouth. The unmistakable taste of precome hit Riley’s tongue, making him smile even as he took another half inch of Brent’s cock into his mouth.

A tiny, soft whimper broke free of Brent’s lips, one hand moving to Riley’s shoulder, squeezing through his suit jacket.

One day, he’d be doing this after their own wedding. Riley knew that. No matter how long it took Brent to be ready, Riley was going to marry him one day.

“Riley,” Brent hissed, shifting his legs further apart.

Riley glanced up at him, seeing his cheeks flushed and his eyes closed, smiling to himself again. He sucked harder, hollowing his cheeks for maximum pressure, and held Brent’s cock like that, focusing on jerking him off.

Brent never took long like this. He could hold out when it came to a lot of things, but having his cock sucked made him come like he was a nineteen-year-old excited about his first real blowjob.

Riley loved that. It made him feel a lot better at this than he really was.

Not wanting to hold back, Riley moved his hand out of the way and took Brent deeper into his throat, moaning happily at the way Brent stretched him to the limit. He could tell people he had a cold later, or something, but he wanted Brent to enjoy this.

Brent had spent the last two months making Riley impossibly happy, and Riley wanted to return the favor in whatever way he could.

He closed his eyes again as he felt the head of Brent’s cock nudge the back of his throat, another moan welling up deep in his chest. He loved this. He loved the way Brent felt in his mouth, the weight of him, the way he tasted.

Everything about him was so perfect.

Brent’s hand on his shoulder tightened again, his breath coming in short, sharp gasps, sounding almost painful.

Riley could tell he was close, he just needed to be tipped over the edge.

Smiling to himself, Riley reached forward, cupping Brent’s balls in his palm and rolling them back and forth. Brent was so sensitive everywhere that the barest touch could set him off when he was close, especially here.

Riley was still exploring everything about Brent’s body. All the sensitive spots, all the things that made him moan, whimper and beg.

His balls were one of those things, and Riley loved playing with them. He loved the sounds Brent made when he was touched anywhere between his knees and his belly button, but especially here.

Above him, Riley could hear Brent whimpering non-stop now, the sound punctuated by gasping breaths. His hips jerked forward just a little, and that was the only warning Riley got before Brent was coming down his throat, a low, relieved moan breaking free of his lips.

Probably just about loud enough for anyone downstairs to hear, but Riley wasn’t going to tell Brent that if he didn’t realize.

Riley sucked Brent’s cock clean, swallowing around him while he rode out the aftershocks, letting him go reluctantly as pleasure turned to overstimulation.

He stood to kiss Brent, hot and open-mouthed, pushing the taste of him onto his own tongue. Brent was still panting for breath, having to break the kiss off to take in a gulp of air here and there, completely spent.

He was amazing like this. Riley loved him all the time, but post-orgasm was one of his favorite moments with Brent.

His own cock was still hard in his pants, but they could afford to wait a few minutes while that went away. Brent would need at least that long to recover.

Besides, this way it’d be that much better when they got home for round two. Anticipation made everything better.

“Do you want…?” Brent asked, his chest still heaving as he recovered.

“No.” Riley pecked him on the lips. “That was for you. I can wait until we’re home.”

“My opinion of weddings is improving,” Brent said, lifting an arm and wrapping it around Riley’s shoulders to hold him close.

Riley grinned. That had been the plan.
