"What are you two up to looking so serious over here?"
My girl dropped down next to me at the lunch table.
"Hey you how was class?" I totally ignored her question she didn't need to know about this shit.
"Class was fine, I spent most of my time convincing people that I'm not pregnant and that that's not the reason we had a quickie wedding. No one believed my story about my crazy boyfriend who lost his mind and insisted on it."
"Yeah whatever, so Cunning we set?"
"Yeah bro, can I at least eat my burger before I get started on that shit?"
Kevin and Stephanie came over and Stephanie was once again mooning over Skye's ring. Kevin was still grinning at me and shaking his head
"Damn bro if Nonna hadn't told me I wouldn't have believed it."
"I wish you'd stop gossiping with my grandmother dude, there's just something so wrong with that shit."
"Whatever you're just jealous, by the way I heard from my dad."
I put my shit aside for a hot minute because that asshole needed all your attention whenever he raised his ugly fuck head.
"The fuck he want now?"
"The same as always, money."
"Not a fucking dime I hope you told him."
Kevin was scared of his old man the fucker, the only time I ever saw my friend sweat was when his old man was around or his name was even mentioned. I could see from his expression that he had caved again.
"Fuck this shit bro." I pulled out my phone I knew just how to fix his ass.
"Talon, don't."
"Kill that shit bro, you won't let me put a beat down on his ass this is the next best thing; enough is fucking enough."
"Nonna...yeah listen, Kevin's old man has been after him again." I saw Kevin drop his face in his hands as Stephanie mouthed the words thank you to me.
Nonna said some pretty colorful things on the other end before declaring that she was going to take care of it and hung up in my ear. The fucker was in for it now I'm sure.
I threw my arm around Skye and gave her a head rub, which made her elbow me, she could be a bit ornery like that sometimes but it didn't stop me from stealing a kiss.
"Practice this evening babe." I stole a quick nibble on her ear and neck.
"About that, I'm gonna go to the library with Steph and some of the other girls."
"No you're not." I removed my arm from around her so I could eat. I bit into my burger and kept my eyes peeled to the door waiting for my two targets to arrive.
"Talon don't be an ass, why can't I go to the library?"
"Because your little ass is going to be in the stands where I can keep an eye on you."
"But you'll be busy down on the field you wouldn't even know that I'm there."
"Skye no, tell them to come to the field if you need study partners but you're not going."
That was easy, she didn't argue me to death thank heaven and we were able to enjoy the rest of lunch in peace. I didn't pay the snickers from my guys too much mind I'd make their asses pay later. My tackle owed me a favor I'd put them to work; see how they liked that shit.
