“This is only my rental.  I use it because I am planning to buy a new Ferrari and want to test drive the thing for a while.  I need to see if I really want the car since I have others.  I guess you could say I am a collector of cars.  Where I go, my cars go with me.”

 

Gabrielle really did not want the group going, but he would humor them to find a way to get Sebastian alone with him.

 

“So, what would we go in?  Your limousine?”

 

Sebastian asked since he could get a limousine at the hotel so that Gabrielle did not have to waste money or gas with his.

 

“I would take you around in my Rolls Royce and the rest can travel behind us in my Lincoln town car.  My Rolls will fit the three of us and the rest of your friends and family can enjoy the ride in the town car.  I have two drivers who will take us anywhere you want to go.”

 

Gabrielle said as he watched in slight jealousy as Calis was being rubbed down with sunscreen that had a rather high SPF so the boy would not burn although he did get a slight burn with pink cheeks, little nose, neck, and shoulders.

 

“Give me a second, I need to wake Zachary to put more sunblock on him before he turns into a tomato.”

 

Sebastian said as he woke Zachary noting the mark from Allen on his neck.  Sebastian sighed since it was damn close to being a contract mark.  It also meant temptation for demons since a marked human was like an invitation to try to steal him from the other demon.

 

“Zachary, we need to put more sunscreen on you.”

 

Sebastian said as he gently woke the man who moaned in protest at being woke.  However, he did note he was getting rather fried on this side.

 

Zachary sat up putting sunscreen on his chest and arms as well as his face and legs a bit.  Then Sebastian put sunscreen on Zachary’s back, back legs, and feet again.  If Gabrielle needed sunblock he would have asked Sebastian to help him with his, but demons did not need such things.

 

Alex and Bob were now out swimming enjoying the water as they swam mainly underwater with Alex looking for more treasures like interesting sea stones and more sand dollars.

 

Zachary thanked Sebastian for the help and went back to sleep with his head on the phone to see if Allen was awake, but he heard soft snoring on the other end of the line.  Closing his eyes, Zachary fell asleep again as he was exhausted.

 

“So Calis, I was wondering if you are willing to share Sebastian with me for a night.  He pretty much said you control him and thus I am willing to also pay you quite a bit if you let me have him for one night.”

 

Gabrielle said and Sebastian frowned at that.

 

“How much are you willing to pay?  I am not saying he is for sale, but I am curious what a demon would pay me for one night with my husband.”

 

Calis asked since he did wonder.

 

“I would be insulting him if I offered less than three million for a night with him.  Anything less would belittle his worth.  Of course, I am willing to go higher as I am rich as hell and money means little to me.”

 

Gabrielle said and Sebastian was more insulted he was going to be paid for.

 

“Hmmm………that is interesting.  I am also wealthy and really don’t need more money, however your offer is good.  Damn good for a first offer.  I’ll think about it.  We have a week here and Sebastian has not pissed me off just yet.”

 

Calis said and Gabrielle chuckled.  He liked Calis since the boy was smart and Sebastian was completely insulted.

 

“I am not for sale.”

 

Sebastian stated angrily.

 

“Well, we could do it for free, but where is the fun in that?  There are other things I can offer of course.  Like that big cat, you were playing with on the beach.  I could get her for you with no problem what so ever.”

 

Gabrielle said to Sebastian who frowned since he did want Belle.  He wanted Belle pretty damn badly, but his little husband was evil and would not let him have another cat.

 

“No, he can’t have another cat.  He is already a cat hoarder.  We have sixteen cats at home and he wants to breed them so no, another cat is not an option.”

 

Calis said firmly and Sebastian sat depressed as he did want Belle plus bringing her up in conversation made him miss her.

 

“Sebastian stop moping.  Your life is not that bad and you have no reason to be sad.  Belle had to go home. She belongs to Joe not you.  She needs a lot of space since she is not a housecat and you hate taking the dogs for walks plus it is cold where we live and cats like Belle don’t care for cold.”

 

Calis said and Sebastian still pouted since if he had his way he would move them to somewhere sunny so they could have Belle.

 

Gabrielle thought Sebastian was so cute.  He was like a big child in some ways and it was endearing.  Also, Calis did not say no to having him for a night so there was a possibility of this.

 

“You are welcome to see our cats any time Sebastian.”

 

Drew said to Sebastian and that did cheer Sebastian up a little.

 

“Yes, especially if he crawls around on all fours again for us.”

 

Frank whispered to Drew who nodded with a smirk.

 

Alex and Bob came back with Alex carrying a bunch of rocks and some sand dollars with Calis shaking his head at Alex.  He was so funny, but still there would be little left in the ocean with Alex stealing it all.

 

“Alex what are the kids going to do with all those sea stones?  They might break all your seashells while we are traveling.”

 

Calis said to Alex who set down his treasures and dried off.

 

“I only got small rocks Calis.  I want to get a bottle for sea water.  I want to take some home for Pierce since he couldn’t be here with us.”

 

Alex said and Calis sighed after chuckling a bit.

 

“You two are getting a bit fried out here.  Perhaps you should sit in the shade over there.  We will move so you two can enjoy the weather too.”

 

Sebastian said as he noted that it was quite hot now and even Calis probably should be in the shade.

 

There was a very nice shady spot that was big enough for even Zachary to fit in with everyone since the demons did not mind being out in the sun.

 

Gently waking Zachary, Sebastian helped him move to the shady area where he could sleep all he wanted without worrying about getting burned.  Sebastian sat out with his demon friends who were enjoying the heat of the sun.  Kirkland and Leon also stayed out in the sunshine where Calis was slightly burnt from being out in the sun so long.  Alex and Bob were very brown most likely needing more lotion even now as their skin was quite dry.

 

Sebastian excused himself and got the big bottle of Aloe Vera gel he bought to put on Calis’s burnt skin knowing Calis would tan a bit, but the sting of the burn might bug him.  He also rubbed the gel on Alex and Bob wondering if that might work to help their skin as Gabrielle said most vampires did not come out until night time here since all one had to do was reflect light from glass or a microscope and it would set one of them on fire.

 

“Alex, you have such nice skin you need to be careful about too much sun exposure.  Your skin is less dry than Bob’s, but you still need to be careful since you are browner than he is.”

 

Sebastian said as he made sure to put extra gel around Alex’s eyes and noted his lips needed something as he put some on his lips, but the man needed some chapstick soon.

 

“You both need chapstick big time.  When we get to the hotel we will go out and buy you some.  I am also going to suggest even if you are not hungry to feed on me a bit.  It might help.”

 

Sebastian said as he used a sharp black fingernail to make the blood flow on his wrist as he offered it to Alex first who took and drank down the blood not feeling super hungry, but it did heal his sore lips.

 

“I will feed Bob, Sebastian.”

 

Gabrielle said as he went over and sliced his wrist feeding the vampire as Bob drank until he could not anymore.  Soon the two vampires’ skin seemed to lighten a bit and look a little less dry.

 

“I think we should get them umbrellas while here.  They did have some and that might help during the day.”

 

Calis said as he did worry about this heat frying his vampire family members.  He also wanted to get one for himself as now that he was in the shade he could feel the burn.

 

“We’ll buy the umbrellas Calis.  I think we saw some downstairs at the hotel gift shop.  Besides we want to walk around a bit after this.  There were some shops Alex wanted to go to that we passed a few times.  I like to collect shot glasses from wherever we go so I was going to look at some before we leave.”

 

Bob stated and Calis thought about that.

 

“Well, don’t let Alex pack them with his rocks or your shot glasses will break.”

 

Calis said and Bob figured he would wrap them in his clothes like he always did when he traveled.

 

“Don’t worry, I know how to pack my shot glasses.  I also figure I will get Alex a bottle for his ocean water he wants to collect.”

 

Bob said and Calis sat back enjoying the warm breeze in this shady spot.  Today had been fun even with the stupid spell that had to be undone.  Calis could not blame the demons for liking this place.  It was a small piece of heaven on earth with the nice weather and the white sand beaches.  It was so peaceful and pretty here.

 

“Montego Bay is not too far of drive from here, just a few hours as you should really see it.  It is beautiful there although not as quiet as here.”

 

Gabrielle said and Sebastian thought about that.  It would be nice to drive up to see the bigger cities to see what they had to offer.

 

“Well for today we shall enjoy this city, but maybe tomorrow we can go up there with you while Kirkland is resting.  I am going to ask William to have his reapers help watch over Kirkland and Leon while they are here.”

 

Sebastian suggested and Gabrielle nodded.

 

“We should get lunch soon, I know Calis is probably starving and he is rather strict about tea time considering two in the afternoon he always has his tea.”

 

Sebastian said and Gabrielle thought about that.

 

“Give me a second and I will take care of lunch.  We don’t have to leave the beach for that.  There are places here that deliver that I do have an account with.  I will call my caterer and have them deliver you a nice lunch as well as some fresh Jasmine tea.  I like the smells of certain teas so we shall all enjoy being on the beach for a while longer.”

 

Gabrielle said as he called his local caterer who took his order as he always was entertaining someone as Mayor so why not entertain friends as he was going to leave office soon anyway to retire to England with these lovely people.

 

Calis laid back down and relaxed ignoring the soft snoring of Zachary who was out cold.

 

When lunch came, it was a lot of food all laid out on a blanket for them to feast on.  It was mainly sandwiches, pasta salad, chips, iced cold drinks, and hot Jasmine tea which the servers poured for Calis and those who wanted hot tea.

 

Zachary woke up for lunch, but as soon as he was done eating he fell back asleep checking the phone first to find Allen was also asleep still.  Zachary during lunch showed Sebastian how to work his digital camera to take pictures if he wanted to.

 

Alex took his empty glass bottle of juice to the ocean rinsing it out and putting clear ocean water into it closing the lid then walking it back to where his other treasures were.  He was also going to finish another bottle so he could clean it out and collect sand.

 

Everyone thought Alex was amusing with his little collections of seaside treasures.  Bob gave Alex his glass bottles for Sidney as Alex did the same with them filling them up with sand and sea water.  He hoped the kids would appreciate these things.

 

Calis figured they could come back to Jamaica some other time, but not necessarily this part.  It was a good place though for pictures of models if they needed to use that same stretch of beach they had camped at before.

 

Gabrielle sipped the hot tea although he could not taste it nor actually ingest it.  It did smell pleasant though and Gabrielle did not mind pretending to enjoy the hot drink.  Gabrielle even ate a sandwich making Sebastian almost laugh at that since the man could not taste it or really enjoy it so he did not see the point in his eating it other than the smell since it probably smelled good to the demon.

 

“Sebastian, come take a walk with me.”

 

Gabrielle said as what was left over from lunch was packed up and removed from the area as everyone was done eating.

 

Sebastian excused himself from everyone as he walked with Gabrielle along the beach.  The two were walking quite a way out when Gabrielle figured they were far enough away from the group that he could say what he wanted.

 

“How badly do you want that big cat?”

 

Gabrielle asked Sebastian and Sebastian frowned since he did want Belle pretty damn badly.

 

“More than you can imagine, but Calis won’t let me have her.  As I said Calis is truly evil.”

 

Sebastian said with a pout since he would have killed to have that cat.

 

“Why do you let a baby demon order you around?  I can give you that cat plus as many cats as you want.  I can give you anything you want all you need do is ask.”

 

Gabrielle said and Sebastian sighed.

 

“Because I am in love with Calis.  Calis is my very reason for being and as much as I like your offer I cannot take it since I do love my mate.  I love my tiny husband more than my own life.  I am also contracted to him for life.  We have had our contract for a very long time.”

 

Sebastian stated and Gabrielle couldn’t help it.  He kissed Sebastian passionately.

 

“I love you Sebastian.  You are so beautiful; do you know that?  I could give you so much more than a boy can, but I will not push.   However, if you want to leave him and come to me I will be waiting for you.”

 

Gabrielle said as he was truly in love with Sebastian.  Sebastian was the most beautiful demon Angel he ever laid eyes upon and he wanted him badly.  So badly he could taste it.

 

“I think you are confusing love with lust Gabrielle, you merely want to fuck me.”

 

Sebastian said with a small smile.

 

“Actually, I am quite aware of what I am feeling Sebastian.  This isn’t just lust.  You fascinate me, enthrall me, and your soul alone is quite rare as a demon or an Angel.  You have a magnetism about you that draws people in.  Physically yes, I lust for you in many ways, I want your beautiful body more than anything in my life, but it is you that I love.  Your personality is perfect; you are perfect to me.’

“I don’t know what spell the baby demon Angel has over you to make you love him so, but I want to know.  I want to trap you in my spell as he has trapped you.   I want to give you the world just to see you smile.  I am enraptured by you, tangled, and entwined by your very presence.  You make me feel things I have never felt before.”

 

Gabrielle said as he looked into Sebastian’s eyes with Sebastian unsure of what to say.  He would never love Gabrielle, but he could tell Gabrielle was in love with him.

 

“I am flattered, but to be honest I cannot see myself with you.  I only have room for one in my heart and that is Calis.  Calis finds me imperfect which is why I love him so much.  He points out my flaws constantly, torments me constantly, and drives me absolutely insane.  He teases me and destroys me which for some reason I cannot resist him for.’

“Calis is the only one who would get away with insulting me and making me look like a moron.  Any other I would kill for such an insult.  I cannot lift a hand to harm my tiny husband other than to spank the daylights out of him on occasion.  Anything else is purely by accident and I do not wish for accidents to occur as I love him dearly.’

“Your sentiments are not on deaf ears and if I were not so in love with Calis I might consider you as a possibility, but I am a mated married man.  Anything that would happen between us would only end with your heartbreak.”

 

Sebastian said and Gabrielle sighed as he was very frustrated.   He never felt this way about anyone before and the rejection was almost too much to bear.

 

“So, then you won’t have me.  I see.”

 

Gabrielle said and Sebastian saw a tear fall from Gabrielle’s eye.

 

“We will be friends forever if that is acceptable.  I will also introduce you to those in my family.  There are several people in my family who would love to meet you.  I do want you to come live with us and be a part of my family.  I also want Drew and Frank to come later as well.  I want as many of your friends and who you consider family to follow me to England so we can be together in a much better place where you get up to two souls a year.”

 

Sebastian said and Gabrielle let more tears fall.

 

“I cannot eat souls anymore Sebastian.  As of last night, I found my feelings for you to be true and I am no longer a demon, but one of you.  I can’t even disguise myself as Mayor of this city any longer.  The demons know who I am, but as far as the humans they will never see their Mayor again.”

 

Gabrielle said as he showed Sebastian his white wings.  Sebastian then felt very bad since to be rejected was a harsh thing for one who actually did fall in love.

 

“Oh Gabrielle, I am so sorry.  I did not realize I affected you so.  Like I said if I was not already mated and married I would have considered you as a possibility, but I cannot in good conscious leave my beloved little husband.  I do love him and him only.”

 

Sebastian stated feeling very bad for his dear friend.  This was worse on a demon than on a human as once the change was made one could not go back and fix it.

 

“Are there other demon Angels who have no mate who live with you?”

 

Gabrielle asked and Sebastian shook his head that no they did not.

 

“I know there are no demon Angels living around me, but perhaps you could mate with an Angel.  You could taint them enough to keep them as your mate or perhaps one of the demons who come with us will change.  One never knows with demons so we can hope.”

 

Sebastian said as he then hugged his friend.  This was so bad for a demon especially one in such a high-ranking position.  Sebastian hoped Gabrielle would fall in love with someone else as he could not leave his husband even for a friend.

 

Gabrielle held Sebastian for a long time as the tears flowed.  He wished he never felt love for anyone, but he did.  In just getting to know Sebastian it was not hard to fall in love with the man.

 

“Let’s head back as there is much for us to talk about.  We will get you set up at our place and work out things from there.  I am sure we can figure something out for you.  I also know Christian will like you as much as I do.  Christian doesn’t smile much, but he is really a fine man and being that he is older than me he probably will have more in common with you than even I do.”

 

Sebastian said as he brought Gabrielle back to where everyone was sitting.  Drew and Frank were trying to talk Calis into letting them have Sebastian for a night as well, but Calis said no to that as unless Sebastian pissed him off he was not selling his husband no matter how much money these demons forked out.  Drew and Frank offered six million for a night and Calis was tempted as his husband was a male slut of the worst kind, but he had been being good for a while now and ever since he was told he smelled bad after sex Sebastian seemed adamant about not having sex with anyone except for Calis or when he had to with Christian.  Of course, Calis knew that was not going to last, but for now Sebastian was being good.

 

Drew and Frank had to leave after a while, but promised to see Sebastian and the others soon.  Sebastian called William and had the Angel and reaper protection set up for Gabrielle who would need it in this area especially with Lia probably being pissed off at him for having her killed.

 

Frank and Drew were already packing to move to England leaving the new Patriarch as another demon they knew although they were not necessarily friends with him.  The new demon Patriarch did not want the title any more than anyone else, but he did not plan on leaving Jamaica to follow all these demons leaving.

 

Gabrielle knew Allen’s friends as most of them were also his friends as he sat calling everyone to let them know he was leaving to go to England as soon as possible.  The majority of them were going to join him which were quite a few demons who were sick of this place and this life of waiting to die for Lucifer who did not even want them.  They called their friends and their friends called their friends and so on until many of them decided it was time to leave looking up homes in England around Calis’s home so they could enjoy the life of being a demon Angel eating food, drinking different things, and living the good life where others were just happy to have one to two souls to feed on a year.

 

Some demons were willing to kill humans if necessary to get homes around Calis’ to have their paradise in England.  Calis did remind them that the vampires were not to be harmed in England and that reapers would throw a fit if humans died that were not on the to die lists so be prepared to be killed if they fucked with reapers rules too much.  There were plenty of homes for sale for these demons to live in, but they might have to consolidate themselves into the large estates with several of their kind living together.

 

Gabrielle gave over this information before heading home to have his house packed and his cars shipped to the address Calis gave him other than the Rolls which he was taking tomorrow out to go look at Montego Bay with Sebastian and Calis and the Lincoln town car which would be shipped separately.  Canceling all his meetings with the other politicians since he was going to disappear for good, Gabrielle claimed he was going on vacation, so he was not to be bothered.  The new Patriarch would take his place as he knew the disguise.

 

Most of Gabrielle’s things would go into storage save the few demon manuals he had left.  There were so few that he wondered why he was even keeping them now, however Sebastian said Calis liked the stories in them.  Gabrielle wondered what the future held for him in this new form as the one he loved did not love him back.

 

Gabrielle left Sebastian and Calis telling them he would see them at dinner as he had to go take care of some business.  Drew and Frank were also getting their house ready to go as they found an Estate for sale in England and called their relater to buy it outright then move there immediately only having to ship two cars, their BMW, and their DeLorean that they had bought years ago.  Their friends were going to move into the Estate with them to consolidate the demons into the ten-bedroom Estate as well as cover part of the costs of living there.

 

Moving and packing companies were called as demons made their fake passports and paperwork for moving with visas to move off the island to the bigger homes in England.  Storage companies were called for things that could not be brought, but most demons preferred to leave anything nonessential behind.  Any unnecessary items could be left as furnished homes sold for more than unfurnished.  Most demons did not need refrigerators or much in the way of kitchen items.  Some demons put in their notices at work while others planned to stay behind.  Over a quarter of the population was leaving with some of the younger demons who could not afford to go getting the spells from older demons to create money so that they could leave also although most were leaving at a little later date to join up with the others.

 

There was still a large amount of demons staying, but most were content with the life they had and did not want to go.  Lia, when she returned was furious with Gabrielle, but was not stupid enough to retaliate against him.  When she found out Gabrielle and others were leaving she wanted to laugh in joy as she was going to take over and force the new Patriarch to follow her every will.

 

Deciding to go see Gabrielle, Lia put on her best dress and fancied herself up a bit.  Gabrielle always was such a gorgeous man and Lia wished in some ways she would have mated him rather than that pathetic Allen.  Hopefully, Gabrielle would use her for a night, if not he might not be averse to a late-night dinner.  Gabrielle was funny since he would actually eat food and drink like a human where Lia would merely play with her food as it always smelled good, but what was the point of eating it when she could not taste it?

 

Lia drove her little red Dodge Viper over to Gabrielle’s house noting he was home as his rental was parked outside.  The demon who was Gabrielle’s bodyguard and butler answered the door telling Lia to wait for Gabrielle in the parlor.  Lia noted that Gabrielle kept some fine rum in a crystal decanter by the table with crystal glasses to go with it.  He was such a silly man as he used this as part of his status symbol and now he was throwing that all away to go to England for more souls and a chance to fall in love.  What a fool.

 

Gabrielle came downstairs looking devastatingly handsome with his red silk shirt on unbuttoned a bit to show off his firm muscular chest and white slacks that made him look taller than he really was.  His shoes were shined to perfection and a white ascot scarf at his throat showing off his tan skin as he tucked it in before buttoning his shirt up a bit.  His beautiful serpent green eyes regarded Lia as though he were watching and waiting for her to strike at him.

 

“Hello Gabrielle.”

 

Lia said as she licked her lips at the sight of the well-built gorgeous male before her.  Damn he looked good in red and white.

 

“What can I do for you Lia?  I have plans tonight so I don’t have time for a social visit.”

 

Gabrielle said as he went to the decanter and poured himself a stiff drink of rum.  To deal with Lia he would need it.

 

“No time for me?  Well that is a bit unusual for you.  After all, the reason I came by was to have dinner with you and pay for it since I do owe you an apology for lying to you.’

“However, now that the vampire in question is dead as I heard from a friend of mine there should be no problems any longer for either side.  His wife was a problem so I did have her defanged as a reminder to her kind to behave.  Next time I will set her pretty little head on fire.”

 

Lia stated as she had enjoyed that thoroughly.  The little bitch wanted to fight against demons and thus her sons had to watch while she was taught a lesson.  Demons would be kind as long as vampires kept their end of the bargain as Lia did not hate all vampires.  After all, they had a use in being entertainment if nothing else for the demon masses.

 

“I see.  Well that is not my problem anymore after I leave.  I am sure you will be fairly busy and the new Patriarch will need training.  Personally, after I leave I am not too concerned about things since this place will be your problem.”

 

Gabrielle said as he sipped his rum so grateful for that part of the change since the rum tasted so sweet and so good although he kept that from his thoughts as he did not want Lia to know of his change just yet.

 

“Why do you want to leave so badly Gabrielle?  Surly two souls a year has not made you foolish enough to believe you will not meet the same end as the rest of us.  You are without a mate and I am trying to get rid of mine.  Could you not find it in your heart to perhaps stay with me?  I can give you love like no other……….”

 

Lia purred as she slid up to Gabrielle sliding her arms around his neck.  Gabrielle looked Lia in the eyes and knew what kind of love she wanted.  She wanted the kind where she could control a man and rip his guts out while fucking him.

 

“No thank you.  I plan on keeping my guts this time and my souls.”

 

Gabrielle said and Lia sighed.

 

“Well if you want to take the fun out of it we could go for the less painful sex you so prefer.  It isn’t as fun, but I can be kind Gabrielle.”

 

Gabrielle moved back away from Lia.

 

“As I said, no thank you.  I don’t believe in your false promises.  Besides as I said I have plans tonight which do not include you.”

 

Gabrielle said as Lia frowned since she really could be kind when she wanted to be.

 

“Well include me than Gabrielle.  You are dressed to go out to dinner so let me go with you.  It isn’t like you are doing anything special really.  Then we can negotiate your bedroom plans later.”

 

Lia suggested and Gabrielle knew if he acted to different Lia would catch onto the fact he was now a demon Angel, he had to keep this normal and normally he did indulge her in one night of fucking before having her leave even if he hated it.

 

“Fine, but you will not like the company.  It is Sebastian, Calis, and possibly the reaper if Sebastian talks him into this.”

 

Gabrielle said and Lia frowned as she did not want to deal with the reaper.  He was so handsome, but so cold and his wife was a real bitch.

 

“Maybe we should just make after dinner plans.”

 

Lia said as she really did not want to deal with that reaper or his wife.

 

“I may not come back tonight.  I have plans as I said.”

 

Lia smirked as she knew why Gabrielle might be late.  That demon Angel Sebastian was very pretty and Gabrielle liked pretty things.

 

“Well perhaps another night than?  Before you leave since I do want to give you a proper goodbye.”

 

Lia said as she kissed Gabrielle goodbye and left with Gabrielle downing that whole cup of rum in one gulp pouring another since he did not want Lia to give him a proper goodbye.  He was going to have to come up with a better excuse to avoid her until he was actually gone.

 

Getting into his Ferrari, Gabrielle drove to where he was meeting up with Sebastian and his family.  He was a bit nervous because he had to ask a favor to keep Lia off his back.  It had to look real as well or he would be in deep shit since he did not want Lia to come back.

 

Pulling into the parking stall, he walked over to where Sebastian and the others were waiting for him.  It was another restaurant except Gabrielle recommended it and hoped Sebastian was right about William coming to dinner with them.

 

Sebastian was happy to see Gabrielle as he got them a good table and explained that they were just waiting on William who was running a bit behind.  William was Sebastian’s best friend Sebastian explained and he trusted William with his life.  The reaper showed up outside of the restaurant stepping out of a portal and made himself known to demons as well as humans as if he came out from a dark area into the light rather than materializing out from nowhere.

 

“William, I want you to meet Gabrielle.  He is going to be living with us until he possibly decides on a place of his own like Kirkland and Leon are planning on doing eventually.”

 

Sebastian said and William reluctantly shook Gabrielle’s hand.

 

“Aren’t you that demon I met yesterday?”

 

William asked and Gabrielle nodded yes.

 

“Sebastian knows I do not approve of demons so you will have to forgive me for not being politer as I consider demons the vermin of the universe.  Pretty much lower than even dirt itself.”

 

William said and Sebastian whispered something into William’s ear.

 

“Ah………I see………. well than you may need some help.  I still do not approve, but you are rather surrounded here.”

 

William said after Sebastian explained things without the demons around finding out as he told him to watch his thoughts.

 

“Well I do need help, actually, now.  Lia has come calling and she is reluctant to let me be.  I unfortunately normally don’t turn her completely down, but considering my current condition if she rips my guts out I may not be able to return the favor if I do die.  She wishes to send me a proper going away and I really, really do not want that.”

 

Gabrielle ordered a drink, something stiff to help him get through this night.  The reaper did not approve of him which meant he may not help him.

 

William lifted an eyebrow at this wondering if Gabrielle had a death wish.  William might help him, but he wondered what the man would give him in return for his help.  Kingsly certainly would not approve of anyone touching his William.

 

“Well, I could have you spend the rest of the time with us.  Sebastian would have to behave himself, but we could do it.”

 

Calis said as Sebastian frowned since he was against this idea.  Sebastian wanted to see what William had in mind since he knew William might take a fancy to Gabrielle.

 

“Actually, Calis, I want a piece of Lia myself as far as destroying her, but as far as my plan goes I will have to approve it through Kingsly first.”

 

William ordered himself something fairly strong to drink.  This was a favor for Sebastian really so William would do it, but for a price.  William actually had a pretty good plan, but Sebastian was going to owe him big time for it.

 

A long time ago, William mentioned something to Sebastian about Angels and his particular tastes when it came to Angels.  William was pretty damn specific also when he talked about what he liked and why he loved Sebastian so much.   William still loved Sebastian more than anything or anyone, but he was willing to try new things as long as it was with an Angel.  Gabrielle needed help in more than one area and Sebastian was not willing to do so thus William would for a price.  Really, William wanted to bring Kingsly to do this, but Kingsly needed to watch the little ones.

 

“What is this plan and what does your wife have to do with this?”

 

Gabrielle asked and Sebastian just smirked as it was one of his better ideas.

 

“William is going to be your boyfriend while you are here.  His wife has to approve first though and he is the one who gets to kill Lia.  That is the plan.  I did not tell William which one of you was changed, but I knew once he found out it was you he would do this.  It is something I will owe William for, but since I know what he wants it isn’t like I would not do that anyway.”

 

Sebastian said and Gabrielle did an ‘oh’ face.

 

“I am in trouble for helping all of you out so I am on a temporary suspension.  Kingsly threw a tantrum for me which was nice, but he knew I would do anything for Sebastian so I figure I might as well make the most of my time off.’

“I don’t like demons.  In fact, I hate them, but I love Sebastian so I am doing this as a favor for him.  However, he owes me twice now and he will pay up.”

 

William said as he sipped his drink.

 

“So where is your death scythe, I mean just in case Lia comes to cause problems?”

 

Gabrielle asked and William pulled out two very long pairs of scissors.

 

“This is them until I am off suspension.”

 

William said as he was going to get a bit drunk tonight for having lost his personal death scythe all because he loved Sebastian so much he got in trouble for him.

 

“Scissors?  Are you fucking kidding me?”

 

Gabrielle asked in frustration.

 

“Trust me I am good, even with scissors.  These are not your average scissors either.  Razor sharp and deadly.  I can still kill with these which is more than Kingsly can say when they gave him scissors the last time he screwed up.   If I need backup, I will simply call my wife since I am not allowed to call the office for a week.  Kingsly can and thus I have my phone handy just in case.”

 

William said as Sebastian looked like he felt bad about this, but at the same time he was happy William was free to help.

 

“You’ve been drinking even before you came here!”

 

Gabrielle accused the reaper and William nodded to the affirmative.  He was slowly going to get completely schnockered.

 

“He’s good even when he is slightly drunk Gabrielle so do not worry.  Besides it will be the very sight of you with him that will keep Lia away.  Plus, William is kind of pissed off about being suspended over such a minor thing so if Lia wants a very bad day she will bother the both of you.”

 

Sebastian said as he had the waiter come over so they could order their food.  William got the most expensive thing on the menu ordering it not sure what it was as everything was slightly blurry even with his spectacles on as he had downed almost a full decanter of scotch by himself.  Sebastian helped William and then told Gabrielle he would be right back as he excused himself with William to go see Kingsly.  It was best to do this while William was still slightly drunk as sober he would be less willing to work with him in convincing Kingsly that it was ok for him to fuck an Angel who wasn’t Sebastian or Christian.

 

Kingsly was sitting reading a magazine when Sebastian came over to him to ask a favor.

 

“No Sebastian.  Whatever you are going to ask me the answer is no.  You got William into trouble and I am still mad at you for that.”

 

Kingsly said before Sebastian said anything.

 

“Kingsly darling, Sebastian’s Angel friend needs a favor.  It isn’t much.  I just have to pretend to be his boyfriend.  You can even be his girlfriend and I will let you kill that bitch demon who is after him.  She is after me too and I know how you feel about that.”

 

William slurred out as he was slightly hammered.

 

“William, you are drunk and you don’t know what you are saying!”

 

Kingsly yelled pointing a finger at William only for William to kiss that finger then miss it with his second kiss.

 

“Come on Kingsly, it is only for a week and then Gabrielle will be here.  I will even buy you something spectacular if you do this favor for me.  I already promised William a week of nothing except me for as long as he wants.  You know you get to join him in that week……….”

 

Sebastian pleaded as he really liked Gabrielle and did not want him to die.

 

“Ooo………I should smack you Sebastian!  You are getting my husband to do a very bad thing!”

 

Kingsly fumed as he looked at Sebastian who did the please face so well he was having the worst time saying no.

 

“Please……………I swear I will let you kill Lia and I will even hold her down while you behead her if you want.”

 

Sebastian begged and Kingsly huffed finally giving in.

 

“Fine!  But you owe both of us big time!”

 

Kingsly roared as Sebastian kissed Kingsly sweetly before giving William to his wife for a moment since he wanted to kiss him.

 

“God, you smell of too much scotch William!  Make sure he doesn’t get into any more trouble Sebastian or I will cut off your head and not the big one!”

 

Kingsly yelled pointing at Sebastian’s crotch with Sebastian frowning as he did not want his cock cut off.

 

“I love you Kingsly.”

 

William said with a lovesick look on his face before Sebastian did the portal back since William was too inebriated to do it himself.  Kingsly waved goodbye to the two men as William frowned when he was brought back to Jamaica.

 

“William, we got Kingsly’s permission so you can’t be getting completely schnockered off your ass.  I need you to focus a bit.”

 

Sebastian said and William looked like a sad lost little boy as he wanted his wife not to go back to the table with a man who wasn’t his wife.

 

“But I’m not that drunk Sebastian.  See I can still see all four fingers.”

 

William said as he held up two fingers in front of his face.

 

“You are only holding up two William.  Now come to the table and water for you from this point on.  You cannot be this drunk all week long.”

 

Sebastian said as he led his best friend over to the table helping him sit before he fell on his ass.

 

“So, what did his wife say?”

 

Gabrielle asked as he watched Sebastian take William’s mixed drink away and asked for water for his friend who frowned at him.

 

“She said it was fine.  I just owe her as well.  Probably something expensive and red.  Most likely a piece of jewelry.”

 

Sebastian said and Calis sighed since it would be easier to allow Gabrielle to stay with them rather than getting a separate room for William and Gabrielle.

 

“Hey, that drink was mine Sebastian.”

 

William said angrily as he reached for the long island iced tea.  As he did Sebastian slapped his hand.

 

“No William, you cannot have it.”

 

Sebastian said as he moved it down the table to where William could not reach it.  William looked hurt that Sebastian slapped his hand.

 

“I am per………. per………. perf……. perfectly fine…………gimme my drink……….”

 

William slurred out and Sebastian then ordered coffee for William.

 

“You are drunk off your ass William and no I am not giving you your drink.”

 

Sebastian said firmly.

 

“You gave my drink to Calis……. he is too young……. now gimme my drink……….”

 

William said as he went to get up to get it only for Sebastian to grab it and pour it out on the ground.

 

“Hey!  That was my drink you jerk!”

 

William yelled angrily as he was pissed now.

 

“William, you are drunk and you are not drinking any more.  You will be ill if you do.  Now they are bringing you water and coffee so behave yourself or I won’t give you the miracle hangover medicine in the morning.”

 

Sebastian said as he brought that just in case they needed it.  Zachary thought this was funny as hell and Calis just rolled his eyes as William pouted since he wanted his drink not water and not coffee.

 

“Just order him a virgin long island iced tea, he won’t know the difference.  Then he will quit pouting.”

 

Calis whispered to Sebastian since Sebastian had to make this difficult.  Calling a waiter over Sebastian whispered what he wanted into the waiter’s ear as he nodded and went to go get two virgin long island iced teas for William.

 

“We are getting you a new drink William so stop pouting.”

 

Calis said as he put his napkin on his lap hoping dinner would come soon since he was starving.

 

“Thank you Calis.  Geeze………. I am not a baby Sebastian……….”

 

William slurred out as he felt he had every right to get as drunk as he wanted to.  He was a grown man for hell’s sake.

 

“Did you bring him a suitcase?  William will need more than just what he is wearing for the illusion to be complete.”

 

Calis asked Sebastian who then excused himself from guests again as he did the portal and went to William’s bedroom to go pack him a bag as he looked for some relaxed clothing which William did not have much of.  William really needed some casual wear besides his work out clothing.  Luckily, they already picked him up swim trunks for the beach so that would not be a problem.

 

Sebastian figured he would buy William some shirts here from Jamaica that he could wear around town that were less formal.  At least Sebastian had a few golf shirts for this trip, Sebastian just did not much care for jeans although Calis loved Sebastian in jeans.

 

When Sebastian got back with the bag, William had his two-virgin long island iced teas as he sipped one happy now that he had his drinks.  The food had also arrived with William not sure what the crap he was eating, but it tasted ok as it was just the starters for the meal with everyone getting a salad with some kind of red dressing that was good, but strange.

 

William had no clue his drinks were nonalcoholic since he was too drunk to figure that out.  However, with the water and tea he was slowly sobering up a bit.  William just figured his drinks were low in alcohol content as he would order something else later since he was not doing this mess sober.

 

Not touching the coffee, William ordered something else to drink with Sebastian grabbing the waiter after William ordered it to whisper something in his ear then getting one of the same so William would at least be sober enough to deal with tonight.  He had to make this look convincing and thus Sebastian needed William to be at his best.

 

As William was slowly sobering up Sebastian was telling Gabrielle the plan.  The goal was for William to give off the image that Gabrielle and he were an item so that the demons would back off especially Lia.  After this week was done, Gabrielle would be going with them to Underwood Estates.  Gabrielle would go with William tomorrow to his house to pack a bag and if necessary call his wife to join them if Lia showed up.  The packers would come to pack all his things as most of it was going into storage other than his demon manuals and most of his clothes.

 

“So, we will be kissing and holding hands in public.  Most humans think I am the Mayor’s son so that will be interesting to see in the newspaper.”

 

Gabrielle said as he knew there would be photographers around trying to get photos of him.  They did it now so why not during this week?

 

“I will destroy their cameras before they get the chance.  I do have a reputation as well.”

 

William said as he was brought some kind of soup with shrimp in it for the second part of the meal.  William noted a deformed looking shrimp in his soup deciding to say something about it.  He was not going to eat a deformed shrimp that was limp and wormy.

 

The waiter apologized and took the soup back brining him a new bowl of it with normal looking shrimp.  The soup was all right, not great, but not bad.  William figured he must be spoiled since Sebastian and Christian’s cooking was much better than this.

 

Calis ordered the same thing William did so he checked his soup for any deformed shrimp not finding any, but was a bit bummed there were not more shrimp in his soup since Calis loved shrimp.  After they were done with the soup, a small piece of meat was brought out with some kind of spicy red sauce that was very good.  Bread was brought out for everyone with fresh butter as everyone’s dishes were soon served with Calis and William waiting for the next portion of their meal.

 

“Sebastian, there is no alcohol in my margarita.  Stop telling them to make my drinks virgins.”

 

William said as he was damn near sober having drank two full long island iced teas, two margaritas, and a ton of water as he had to drink something in between drinks.

 

“Really?  Cause I ordered the same thing.”

 

Sebastian said trying to hide the fact he was trying to make his best friend sober.

 

“Here try mine and see if it tastes the same.  Maybe it is just their brand of alcohol.”

 

Sebastian lied as he had William try his only to get the same response.

 

“Well I am going to try something else, but don’t order the same thing and don’t talk to the waiter about it.  I don’t trust you since I think you are giving me virgin drinks.”

 

William said and ordered a tequila sunrise with extra tequila and only the best tequila they had.

 

“If you mix your liquor you will get ill William.  You have had who knows how much scotch, tequila, and whatever was mixed in that long island iced tea.  You are going to make yourself sick.”

 

Sebastian scolded, and William frowned as he was going to be just fine.

 

“I’m a big boy Sebastian and I can handle my liquor.”

 

William stated as he told the waiter to make two of those tequila sunrises making them strong.

 

“You can’t perform sober?”

 

Gabrielle asked and William sighed looking at Gabrielle.

 

“I can, I prefer not to tonight since I am celebrating.  I am celebrating my suspension since in truth I have had a damn near spotless record until this point.  Because I love this man next to me I would do anything for him so if my career gets fucked up I guess it is ok because that is what Sebastian wants.  I’ve only been reaping my whole damn life.”

 

William said irritably as Sebastian frowned.

 

“I don’t want to fuck up your career William.  I just sometimes think you are a stiff who needs to relax a bit.”

 

Sebastian said and William adjusted his glasses looking at Sebastian.

 

“Don’t make me punch you in the nose Sebastian.  You associate with demons and you want me to condone this.  If you were anyone else, I would knock you on your ass and reap you for the things you make me do.  You and Christian pierced my cock which I still have yet to get you both back for.  I know you want to tattoo me which is going a bit far, but that is not as bad as this.’

“Inviting a whole city of demons to come live around us is not a very smart idea.  I know you think these people are your friends and want to be demon Angels, but even demons know they lie, coerce, and fuck with people.  You are not even a demon anymore Sebastian and you fuck with people.’

“Kirkland learned the hard way what happens to a demon Angel who fucks with demons and I don’t want you to find out with Calis and everyone you love suffering because of it.  You are being foolish and the only way I am dealing with this is to get drunk off my ass since hanging out with your new friends sober is stupid.’

“I hate demons.  You know this and you push me.  You say Lia was Kirkland’s friend and she is fucking with us.  Don’t be an idiot and think things are going to go well forever for you.  Usually I can speed dial help if we get in a sticky situation.  I don’t have that luxury right now so hope to God we can pull this off since if we can’t we are going to be literally fucked.”

 

William stated as finally his food came as well as his drinks.

 

“We will be fine William.  Lia doesn’t know you can’t speed dial help right away and we do still have the Officer Angels watching over us.”

 

Sebastian said and William looked angrily at Sebastian.

 

“They gave me fucking scissors Sebastian!  Scissors to do my job with!  Do not push me!  The Office Angels can only do so much and we are surrounded or haven’t you figured that out!  Pray the demons are going to stay nice since if they don’t we will be screwed!”

 

William fumed at Sebastian as he was too sober right now and that pissed him off more than anything.  Grabbing his tequila sunrise, he downed half of it before going back to eating as he was pissed and Sebastian was not helping.  The waiter finally brought out his filet minion with a helping of spiced potatoes.  It was the least satisfying meal he had ever eaten as Sebastian and Christian had fucked him from ever enjoying normal food again with all their wonderful spices they added to everything.

 

“I need steak sauce.  Now.”

 

William told the waiter who was filling drinks and gathering empty plates.  The human waiter was a bit frustrated since most people never asked for steak sauce for a filet minion from this restaurant.  The demon cook tried not to chuckle at the human cook who watched as the waiter came in for steak sauce for someone’s steak.  The human cook was going to ask who asked for steak sauce, but instead frowned and slammed down one of the steaks he was cooking for someone else.  The demon cook did not cook the steaks; he did other parts of the meals so it was funny to see the little human get flustered.

 

“Here is your steak sauce, Sir.”

 

The waiter said as he gave William the sauce as William thanked him.  Calis also used steak sauce on his steak.  It did help since there was so many spices missing that Sebastian and Christian put on steak.  Gabrielle was enjoying his dinner, but Calis told him that Sebastian and Christian would ruin food for him since this was mediocre at best compared to their cooking.

 

William finished off the tequila sunrise feeling his buzz come back and then started to down the next drink only to look for a bathroom.  He had drunk so much he was going to explode if he did not find a restroom soon.

 

The waiter showed William where the restroom was and William relieved himself feeling much better.  Shaking off, he fixed himself and stepped out of the stall to where a demon waited for him to wash his hands as he had a towel for him and as he dried off.

 

“Reaper take care since our ears and eyes are everywhere.  I am one of the few who will be leaving to go to England so you are very lucky I am one who is not on Lia’s side overheard your conversation.  Also, getting drunk is not wise since you will lose your focus.  Some of us really do want to become demon Angels so don’t think every one of us is a liar.  This is not how I wanted to retire, being a servant to customers in this disgusting place.  Lucifer abandoned us, Angels abandoned us, so we all sincerely hope grim reapers have not abandoned us as well.”

 

The demon said and William paused for a moment.

 

“Don’t fuck with me.  I am not an average reaper.”

 

William said firmly as he did not like even warnings from demons.

 

“I am not fucking with you.  I am being honest.  Other demons might fuck with you, but look at me.  What do I have to gain by lying to you?  I am a servant in a men’s bathroom.  This is my job since demons would not train me to make my own money.  No one pays attention to me since I am less than a worm to them, but I know secrets, I hear things.  I am telling you to take care since I like reapers.  Angels are our enemies even in this place.  My only hope of salvation is to join them so every penny I made here is going to go to leaving this place for a better life.’

“Your waiter is human, but some of the other waiters are not and the reason your meal was so mediocre was it was cooked by a human.  The demon chef is much better.  You are lucky since the demons here are leaving for England, but if you had entered the restaurant across the way they are loyal to Lia.”

 

The demon said and William frowned as he did not want to like a demon, but he could not help but feel for this demon and like him.

 

“What is your name?”

 

William asked and the demon smiled.

 

“I am Truman.”

 

The demon said and William pulled out all his cash as well as his business card.

 

“Take this and tell no one I gave this to you.  If you do, I will reap you.  If you are serious about changing and I mean dead serious then come look me up.  If you are not, then don’t bother coming to England since I will kill you.  That is enough cash to get you on a plane, just you.  Now let me see your true form before I leave since I want to know who I am talking to since I know you don’t look like an old man.”

 

William said and the demon changed forms as he was a tiny beautiful young woman.

 

“And your name is Truman?”

 

William asked in shock and felt a little embarrassed to be standing in a men’s restroom with a beautiful female.

 

“Yes.  It was the last name I was given from my Master and the only name I know.”

 

Truman said and William gave Truman a slip of paper with his direct phone number on it.

 

“Call me before you leave Jamaica.  I may have someone to introduce you to if you are serious about changing.  It is a reaper I know, but you have to be serious.  Now hide that money away and let no one know you took any of this from me.  I am dead serious about reaping you if you do say one word to anyone.”

 

William stated as he left the restroom.

 

Sebastian was about to go check on William, but William came out seeming to be fine.  He did not say much when he sat, but slowly ate his food trying not to get too upset with the fact he was eating mediocre food cooked by a human.

 

Sipping his tequila sunrise William thought about what Truman said and decided to say fuck it and drank water.  He was still a bit buzzed so that would have to do.  Alternating between the water and the tequila sunrise William felt much better as he was now a little more than buzzed, but still aware of what was going on around him.

 

Sebastian was having a nice conversation with Gabrielle with William listening in and Kirkland every once in a while, interjecting with something joining in the conversation.  Leon and Calis just sat listening with Calis at this point pretty much just playing with his food as he was full.

 

The waiter came back and asked if anyone wanted dessert.  Gabrielle did since this was the first time he had eaten to taste everything, William decided to try something from the dessert menu hoping it was better than dinner, Sebastian got something, but Calis was stuffed as was Leon and Kirkland.  Sebastian said he would give Calis a bite of whatever dessert he was having since he knew Calis was fond of them.

 

Gabrielle got to know Calis a bit more as he wanted to know what made Sebastian love this boy so much.  The child was a brilliant conversationalist with his wit and charm although he spoke very monotone which was amusing.  The child certainly was a serious little person.

 

Sebastian gently held Calis’s hand up on the table not afraid to show his affection towards the immortal child.  It seemed to be a fairytale relationship between the two with a fairly dark past.  However, when the two looked in each other’s eyes it was obvious they loved each other deeply.

 

Gabrielle also got to know William who also seemed to have eyes for Sebastian.  It seemed Sebastian was a definite magnet for both men and women.  He attracted anyone who knew him and he was stunning especially when he smiled.

 

William did not smile much at all.  He was quite serious and somewhat cold, but he seemed to warm a little with Sebastian.  He even smiled a bit when Sebastian would say something particularly amusing.  Gabrielle could see what Sebastian saw in William since as a demon one would find William to be quite the catch.

 

Gabrielle wondered what William was like in bed and hoped to find out tonight.  Sebastian had teased Gabrielle so much with his flirting eyes and smile that Gabrielle needed something or he was going to rape Sebastian with or without permission.

 

After dessert came, Gabrielle ate a piece of chocolate and moaned in a most wanton way.  Sebastian notice and about dropped his fork at the sexiness of the man.  William simply watched the demon Angel wondering if he was actually going to have an orgasm from eating food.

 

Calis took a bite of what Sebastian had which was the same as what Gabrielle had with nowhere near the same reaction.  It was merely ok.  Not the most fabulous dessert he ever tasted.  William took a bite of his dessert and had to admit that this was good.  It had to have been made by the demon chef.

 

“Try this Sebastian and tell me what you think.”

 

William said as he gave Sebastian a bite of the dessert in which Sebastian decided to ask for some of that rather than finish the chocolate treat he ordered.  Gabrielle finished his dessert, but William saved some of his for Gabrielle to try.

 

Gabrielle took one bite of William’s dessert and once again moaned in pleasure licking his lips.  It was so much better than that chocolate thing.  Asking for two of those the human waiter took the empty plates and brought the men their desserts as Sebastian shared his with Calis as Calis enjoyed that completely with Calis eating more than half of it.

 

Gabrielle ate both his desserts then took out his card to pay for the meal.  It would be his treat as he planned on leaving a nice tip for the waiter since he was very good.

 

After paying for the meal and signing the bill, everyone got up with Sebastian taking Calis’ hand as they walked hand in hand towards the hotel.  Kirkland also took Leon’s hand as those two walked also hand in hand.  It was a beautiful night with a cool breeze as Calis decided to wander over to the beach first with Sebastian just to enjoy the night air.

 

“Well we might as well get this over with.  We are being watched after all.”

 

William said as he turned to Gabrielle and pulled the man into his arms kissing him with Gabrielle protesting a bit at first only to melt into the kiss.  William made the kisses passionate putting on a good show for the demons as Gabrielle moaned into him and their tongues danced against each other as Gabrielle’s pants became quite tight all of a sudden.  The reaper certainly knew how to kiss.

 

Lia watched in the distance in jealousy as she had wanted that grim reaper!  What the hell did he see in Gabrielle that he did not see in her?  Lia knew she was a beautiful woman so this totally ticked her off.  Trying not to scream like a banshee Lia disappeared to go find the new Patriarch to bitch to as well as fuck the shit out of as she had more to offer both of those men than any woman.  Especially not some little red haired reaper bitch!

 

A camera went off in the distance with William using his reaper powers to destroy it since no one was taking photos of him with this demon Angel.

“Get two glasses for us as we are going to finish all of this off.  There is even juice to mix with it with horseradish for Bloody Marys so we will save some of the vodka for breakfast with this Bloody Mary mix and drink the rest of this shit tonight.  Hopefully they will restock tomorrow.”

 

William said as Gabrielle figured he would try these things, but didn’t Sebastian say mixing alcohol could make one sick?  Gabrielle did not want to be sick since he had seen sick humans and they looked miserable.

 

“Should we not mix the alcohol?  I mean I want to try it all, but I don’t want to end up sick.”

 

Gabrielle said as he got the glasses and sat down.  William found the ice bucket and told Gabrielle he would be back as he went to go get a ton of ice.  Looking for the ice machine William passed door after door until he saw a sign that said ice as he went to the room where the sign pointed and got an overflowing bucket of ice.  They were going to need lots of ice.

 

Carrying the bucket back to the room William saw Sebastian in the hall who also had an ice bucket.

 

“Found the mini bar William?”

 

Sebastian asked and William smiled.

 

“Yes, I did.  Are you and Calis going to drink tonight too?”

 

William asked and Sebastian nodded yes.

 

“Calis is going to have just juice with a little bit of vodka and I am going to have some of that wine although it isn’t very cold so I figure I will remedy that.  Do you want our bottle of scotch?  I won’t drink it and neither will Calis.”

 

Sebastian asked and William went with Sebastian to the ice machine.

 

“Sure, if you don’t want it.  It isn’t the best, but it is a good brand.”

 

William said and Sebastian looked at William after getting his bucket of ice.

“Yes, but vodka is weak compared to whiskey and scotch.  I can down a whole bottle of vodka and not feel a damn thing.  It is the same with wine for me and champagne.  I can drink bottles of the stuff and not have it faze me.  When we get to the rum and scotch that is when the real fun begins.”

“I think your American friends need to question this swill they call alcohol as this stuff tastes like crap unless this is a really bad brand of beer.”

“You provide a service as well.  You collect souls of the dead, the records and such.  I am not saying it is the same, but it is a service none the less.  Angels kill demons as is their job or service to mankind, but to be honest they have no real service as demons do or reapers to humans.’

“I’ve always had a great respect for grim reapers although like you most look down at our kind.  These demons, my brothers and sisters of this city are rejected by demons, reapers, and Angels.  We have no real place except to die in Lucifer’s name which is no great thing I will tell you.  False promises and lies, all of it.  I knew that, but I wanted to live the good life with free will for a while longer.’

“Now I don’t know where I belong.  I am once again thrust into a position where I am not accepted by demons, of no real use to humans, and even the one I love rejected me.  I am tainted so I won’t go to heaven as I did when I was an Angel thousands of years ago.  I am a demon and an Angel which is basically another lost soul.  Like reapers I am a neutral being with no real side to choose from.  If I go towards the darkness, I will be killed by my fellow demons and if I go towards the light, I may lose my free will.  It is very complicated.”

 

Gabrielle said and William never thought of things that way.  Sebastian chose to go to the side of the light, but technically the light side did not fully accept him either.  There were places he could never go in heaven as he was told and it was sad really.

“When we die, we are given a choice if we were good in life.  We can go to heaven or become grim reapers.  I chose to become a reaper as I knew for some reason that was my calling in life.  The Grim Reaper himself came to me when I reached a certain age and told me I was to be trained to be a grim reaper as it was my choice.  I studied harder than most of my friends, but I still was only an average student.  I got high scores, but not high enough for a high average.  My wife Kingsly was a high average student.  He was also male and terribly obnoxious.’

“Kingsly was the gayest man on campus and adored the color red as he wore ridiculous outfits all in red at times.  We were assigned our first case together which was mostly how we met and I learned that there was no room for doubts or second guesses when it came to a human’s life.  If a human is meant to die, then so be it.  Age or otherwise did not matter.  I was efficiently cold in my job as one had to be especially if one wanted to excel which I did.’

“If someone was in my way, I destroyed them so I guess you could say I was very cruel in my way of passing up the ranks to where I was before my suspension.  I don’t like mistakes and when it comes to my job I take it very seriously.”

 

William said as he sipped his juice finding he still did not taste the vodka so he added more.

 

“Kingsly was constantly making more work for me, making mistakes, and in general being extremely offensive as well as obnoxious.  I was in charge of all reapers including Kingsly and there have been more than one occasion Kingsly had killed a human not on the to die list.  He was like Jack the Ripper.  He caused more paperwork for me than any other reaper and at the time he was very male although later I learned the term transgender.  Kingsly was a woman stuck in a man’s body and a very obnoxious self-centered egotistical pain in the ass woman.’

“Kingsly hasn’t changed that much over the years except now he is a female and takes his job a bit more seriously.  Kingsly also sees my word as God’s truth so anyone who disagrees with me meets the end of his death scythe which has caused a few issues plus more paperwork for me.  We have had to take his death scythe from him a few times to give him scissors which are a lot smaller than mine.’

“Whatever you do when you live with us do not piss off my wife.  Kingsly is crazed, dangerous, and will not hesitate to use his chainsaw death scythe on anyone he does not like.  I plan on using him to the fullest this week if Lia persists in being a problem.  I also love my wife very much although I hated him at first.’

“We fought on the first day we worked together.  I let him beat me up the first time because I did not want to lose my average as I was hanging onto my job by a thread.  However, I only put up with people’s shit for so long and Kingsly pushed it with me then found out the hard way I was not going to just take his shit lying down.  I beat Kingsly up and he fell in love with me.  My wife is psychotic that way.  Kingsly likes pain in various levels which I am most happy to dole out since some of the time he really does deserve it.  Kingsly doesn’t know the word quit and he doesn’t quit when he should.  We are complete opposites, but life would be very boring without him.”

 

William said and Gabrielle liked this woman.  He sounded fun.

 

“Well we have talked in length about your wife, but what about you.  What makes a man like you cold, efficient, and practically perfect as a reaper?”

 

Gabrielle asked since he wanted to know more about this man.

 

“I see my work as a job, simple enough.  Most people don’t like overtime and I am one who hates it as it cuts into my family time.  I’m doing this as a favor for Sebastian, but it feels like overtime or it did I should say.  I did not look forward to meeting you to be frank and I definitely did not want to play the role Sebastian asked me to.’

“When I am off work, I want to be off work.   I don’t want to think about work when I am relaxing.  However, I don’t consider this time away as a vacation.  I consider it a punishment of the worst kind.  I have never had my death scythe taken from me for something so trivial and now I know how my wife feels when we take his away to give him useless scissors.’

“The Grim Reaper says I am getting too attached to Sebastian.  He wants me to move back to the reaper community where it is boring and my family does not live.  Sebastian is part of my family.  I find it insulting that he thinks I can’t do my job over an attachment.’

“If I had to reap Sebastian, I would do so, but it is not his time.  When it is his time, it will be my honor to reap him, and have my face be the last he sees.  However, I know I will die before him.  It is predestined.  It is the worst thing to happen to a grim reaper to love someone so much you want to be the one to reap them and die with them, but it is fate and even reapers cannot change fate.  When a person be it human, demon, reaper, or Angel is destined to die than it is their time.’

“I know death better than anyone as that is what I am yet I am told I am getting too attached over a vampire’s death that was going to happen this week anyway.  Personally, if it were not for my vampire friends and family, all vampires could die and rot to me as well.  Nonhumans are unnatural to the order of life.  The dead should stay dead, but they don’t.’

“I still study manuals at work on the dead and what has to be done in my line of work.  I live, breathe, and am surrounded by death.  I come home to my wife who is a grim reaper who deals in death, our children are cherubs not even really alive as they are heavenly beings.  I am surrounded by the unnatural.  If you think about it, you are dead and you are talking to me.  Demons are the evil dead and Angels are the dead of light.’

“Vampires are humans who should be dead yet they walk amongst us.  My family is a bunch of dead people as are my friends.  Reapers are also dead people.  Humans, the earth itself, animals, are all living until death.  My job never ends.’

“You may think you are alive, but you are not.  All these things you want to keep are just things and when the earth is no more none of this, this drink of juice and vodka we are enjoying will cease to be.”

 

William said and Gabrielle never thought of himself as dead.

 

“You know you are a very depressing, cynical man to be around.  I think I am going to pretend to be alive and enjoy this drink you made me.”

 

Gabrielle finished it then poured more juice and a whole crap load of vodka in it since he could not taste the stuff.

 

“Not depressing or cynical, but honest.  In all honesty, you and I should not be alive in this room talking.  You should be dead with no chance of rising again and we would not know each other except if I reaped you.  If you think about it, grim reapers are the only unnatural thing that should exist in this world besides humans.  Spirits should not get left behind but go with the dead.  If this were a perfect world, which it is not, demons, Angels, and other unnatural beings should not even enter earth.  The wars between heaven and hell would start when the earth was gone and all humans ceased to be.  When all life is extinguished from the earth is when the battle should begin as that would be the fair and just thing to do.’

“Then whomever wins gets earth if they really want to live on it at that point.  The new species would live again and life would start anew.  Reapers will always have a job and a place in the universe as death will always exist.”

 

Gabrielle protested at that.

 

“Wait a minute.  Where we who were good go to heaven and have to train for battle constantly with no end to it?  That is a perfect world?  Why do you think I became a demon?  I did not want to constantly be at war with the demons with no end and as a demon I did not want to be at war forever with the Angels.  Maybe the reason demon Angels exist is like reapers they don’t want to belong to either side.  Technically as an Angel I can’t be on the side of evil as they will kill me, but I don’t necessarily want to fight my former brothers and sisters forever.”

 

Gabrielle said as he downed his juice and vodka feeling a bit pissed about this.

 

“Well, truth is you can’t be fully neutral and survive the war that will come when the judgment day comes.  You basically have to choose to at least side with other demon Angels who are all finding the light side is offering more than the side of evil.  The side of evil offers death, pain, and suffering.  The light side offers family, protection, and stability or at least a home when you are done.  If you do not fight at least to live, then you will die.’

“Sebastian’s goal is to turn as many as possible to demon Angels so they can fight at his side.  He is not necessarily good, but he is not completely evil either.  Either way grim reapers like me will be there to clean up the mess as we always do except I will be dead by that point.”

 

William finished his juice and vodka looking at the big bottle of vodka finding that it was doing nothing for him as usual.  This time William took one of the tiny bottles of vodka poured it into the glass then poured more of the big bottle into the glass then added a bit of juice to it since he wanted to finish the bottle of vodka, but did not want to run out of juice.

 

“I just want peace.  I don’t want to choose a side.”

 

Gabrielle said as he finished his drink doing the same as William pouring a bottle of the flavored vodka into his cup, then a whole crap load of vodka and a little bit of juice although this stuff was not even fazing him.  He could hardly taste it.

 

“Then you will die.”
