The Devils Fighter (The Devils Soldiers mc) by Cilla Lee (31)

Scythe

I'm sittin’ in Pink Slip with Cookie when my phone beeps.

'the Oregon Chapter back' I frown at my phone and Cookie looks at me.

“What?” he asks

“The Oregon Chapter just came back.”

“Why?”

“No idea.”

“Well! Who text you?”

“Stryker”

“What'd, he say?”

“That they were back.”

“Well text him back and ask why.”

“Why?”

“I don't know just do it” I roll my eyes at him.

'why they back.'

Widow's hurt’ fucker couldn't have said that first, I jump off my seat runnin' to the door and out to my bike.

“What the fuck?” Cookie yells

“Widow's hurt.”

“Fuck lets go” I run every light and exceed the speed limit well over two times and get back to the clubhouse in no time at all and see the boys pull two people out of the back of the van into one of the demountable.

“What the fuck do you think that is?”

“I don't give a fuck” I walk inside seein' Stryker, he points towards the kitchen and I walk in seein' her sittin’ with all the women laughin’’’ her arm in a sling and her shirt covered in blood.

“What the hell happened?” I ask her, and everyone turns to stare at me, but I'm only lookin’ at Widow, she rolls her eyes at me, her face swollen, and she has bruising around her throat and her arms in a sling

“Don't go all caveman on me?” she says as I nod for all the women to leave, everythin’ in me is screamin’ at me to grab her and shake her hard and paddle the fuck out of her ass, but the thought of seein’ her in pain makes me feel sick. I stand their folded arms leanin' on the door.

“What happened?” I ask her again

“Club Business,” she says, and I grind my teeth together.

“Club Business” I repeat calmly, even though my insides are churnin’ with fire.

“Yep,” she says poppin’ the p at the end.

“You do remember I'm a Brother right.”

“I know,” she says sittin’ back, and I see a slight change in her eyes tellin’ me she hurtin’.

“Then,” I say

“If Preacher wanted your club to know, then I'm sure Razor will tell your club soon enough.”

“Don't be a fuckin’ smart-ass Widow! What the fuck happened?” she stands up swayin' a bit, and I go to reach for her, but she puts her hand up to stop me.

“Look, just because I sucked your dick doesn’t mean shit, so just fuckin’ drop it,” she storms past me, I grab the plate that was sittin’ on the table and throw it at the wall as it smashes into thousands of pieces.

“FUCK!!” I yell and start pacin’, my mind runnin’ a hundred miles an hour and then Magic's face pops into my mind. Where the fuck was he when someone tryin’ to kill my woman, I storm back out lookin' to kill that son of a bitch. The second I see him I rush him, and we tumble to the floor. Women screamin’ and guys tryin’ to pull me off of him.

“WHAT THE FUCK?” he yells as Colt and Stryker pull me off of him

“WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU WHEN SHE WAS BEIN STRAGGLED?” I yell reachin' for him again

“I wasn't fuckin’ with her.”

“THAN WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU?”

“Don't fuckin’ come at me when you know shit, Widow can look after herself fuckhead?” he says, spitting’ blood on the ground, and I go for him again, but Colt and Stryker hold me back.

“Who the fuck was with her?”

“Brother Widow can hold her own,” he says, and I wanna rip his fuckin’ arm off and beat him to death with it.

“WHO. THE. FUCK. WAS. WITH. HER?” I say again getting’ more fucked off

“I was,” someone says, and I turn to see Knuckle.

“What the fuck happened?”

“Scythe you know I can't tell you that, so pull your fuckin’ shit together man. Widow is fine, she took care of what she had to, so stop fuckin’ actin like she's just some normal chick. She's a Brother, what you want us to watch over her cause she's a woman” I blanch at that word again.

“No!” I say through gritted teeth.

“Then stop actin’ like a fuckhead, Widow knows what the fuck she's doin’, and we all trust her with our lives. Just because she's got a pussy doesn’t mean she is one, so stop fuckin’ bein’ one. And if you’re so concerned about her, go and check on her” I go to walk off, but his words, stop me “She ain't gonna answer the door though” I turn to look at him.

“How the fuck, do you know that?”

“Because behind closed doors is the only place she can cry,” he whispers, and I stop and head to the bar for a drink. I sit outside of her door listening to her cry; it's not obvious that she is, but I can definitely hear her. Everything in me is tellin’ me to bang down the fuckin’ door and hold her, but I don't I just sit there drinkin’ my Jack and listen to my woman cry herself to sleep.

Widow Maker

I wake to my arm killing me, my cheek aching and my throat sore. I pop one of the pain pills Doc gave me last night, and I head to the bathroom. I don't look in the mirror instead just strip down and let the warm water wash away the dried blood that was still on my body, last night when I came in I just laid down and cried myself to sleep. I know when I'm alone, I can just let all that anger and worry go and let the tears fall, knowing no one can see me. As I wash my hair carefully not to jar my arm, I get out to change the dressing. It's a little red around the two stab wounds, but Doc did a good job at stitching it up. A big purple handprint marks my neck, and I gasp at how dark the marks are. I get dressed, throwing the shirt I was wearing last night into the bin (no blood stain remover will get that out) I dress as carefully as I can and head downstairs to get some breakfast and see if Jake the dumb-fuck gave up the information. I open the door and Scythe falls back onto the floor, hitting his head as the door hits the wall and I look down at him, a bottle of Jack rolls out of his hand “Mornin’” he says looking up at me, and I roll my eyes at him.

“Did you sleep here all night?” I ask him

“Yep,” he says as I step over him to go downstairs.

“Baby stop,” he says, and I stop to look at him as he struggles getting to his feet.

“Don't baby me Scythe!”

“Come on give me a break; I slept on the fuckin’ floor for you.”

“I didn't ask you to.”

“Well, I would have barged in last night, but I heard you crying” I give him the evil eye.

“I don't cry.”

“Baby,” he says, stepping towards me, but I hold up my hand.

“I said don't call me that” I go to walk away, but he grabs me around the waist, pain radiates through my arm, but I don't show him that it hurts.

“Widow you don't have to act tough for me” I struggle out of his hold and turn to him.

“I don't know what the fuck you want Scythe, but just cut the shit out,” he grabs me again, kissing my neck where the purple handprint is

“I want you Widow” he whispers into my ear, everything is screaming to grab him and let him hold me, but I step back.

“No Scythe, you don't.”

“I fuckin’ do!”

“And if we're together, how we going to make it work,” I ask him, and he looks at me confused.

“What do you mean?”

“Are you gonna give up your Cut, cause I sure as shit ain't.”

“You almost got killed” I laugh at him, and I see his face go red.

“Scythe we're in a motorcycle club, we live for the danger.”

“Widow your” I bring my leg back getting ready to kick him in the balls again.

“Scythe this is our lives.”

“Not ours, Razor's takin’ the club legit, no more illegal shit baby just happy lives, we could have that together.”

“All sunshine and roses Hey.”

“Do you like killin’ people Widow, is that what gets you off” I shake my head at him

“No! Of course not.”

“Then what the fuck is it?”

“Scythe I've worked my ass off for years to be in this club and I've fought fucking hard for this Cut there’s nothing more I want” he pulls me to him and kisses my lips softly.

“What about a family, a husband a white picket fence” I laugh.

“I don't want a white picket fence, and if I have a fence it'll be black,” he smiles licking my lips, and my heart rate picks up.

“And babies.”

“Maybe in the future.”

“You gonna ride when you’re pregnant” I smile.

“Maybe”

“And how ya gonna stop someone from stragglin’ you with a big belly in the way” I push his hands off me and step back

“Stop being a dick.”

“How am I being a dick, I'm tellin’ it like it is and what about a husband.”

“You proposing to me,” I ask him.

“No just sayin’” I take another step back.

“Well, when I find the person I'm going to marry and have kids with, then I'll discuss it with him,” he grabs me again pulling me to him my arm burning

“You’re fuckin’ lookin’ at him and I'm tellin’ you right fuckin’ now; when I knock you up, you won't be doin’ shit for the club” I push him back this time.

“You've lost your ever-loving mind if you think that's happening.”

“Oh! It's happenin’ so get fuckin’ use to it!” he storms past me down the hall, and I scream hard but don't make a sound kicking the wall, pain radiating up my foot, and I want to scream more.

“I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU WEREN'T PROPOSING!” I yell out to him.

“I CHANGED MY MIND!” he yells back as he walks down the stairs.
