The Draglen Brothers Domlen (BK 6 ) by Solease M Barner (16)

TEMPEST

I have my music turned wide open as I force myself to wash the dishes I’ve allowed to pile up for the last three days. I’ve done absolutely nothing but eat and cry since Domlen left. I’m treated like an outcast in my pack now.  Everyone blames me for Domlen branding Corbin’s arm and Sam won’t even speak to me. I try to stay in my home, only leaving when I have too. I think it hurts more that Dawn hasn’t even bothered to contact me. She’s the only one who knows what Corbin and Sam did to me. I thought she’d be a lot more understanding.

I feel so alone. It’s only a matter of time before I leave. I know when I’m not wanted. I’m sure I’ll have a hard time being accepted in any other pack. The word has spread I chose a dragon over my Alpha and no one will want me.

Now, I will be without a pack, without friends, and without Domlen. My life sucks.

When I finish in the kitchen, I begin cleaning everything in sight. I need to do something to get my mind off Domlen.

I’ve cried nonstop for three whole days. I have to wonder what I ever did to deserve such a fate. Maybe I should just relax in a hot bath with a beer. That sounds like the best idea I’ve had all day.

I fill the tub and pour in some bubble bath. I climb in and sink down into the warm water. Just as I close my eyes, I feel a breeze dance lightly across my skin. I look up and see both my bathroom door and window are closed. It could only be one person.

Dare I hope?

“Domlen?” I whisper.

He appears in my bathroom in all his Draglen glory. Domlen Draglen is still one fine looking male specimen, dragon or not.

“Who else would it be?” he smirks.

We both look at each other, remembering how it ended between us. Domlen begins to speak but I barely hear his words over the pounding of my heart.

“Tempest, I have something I need to say and I hope you will hear me out. I should never have let you leave Kalin,” he pauses and comes to sit on the edge of the tub. “When I was first told about you I laughed, not because of you in particular, since I had no idea who you were then. I laughed at the absurdity of me, a dragon, ever having a relationship with a wolf. I’ve never had any contact with your kind until I began looking for you. When my mother first had her vision, she tried to force me to marry Tika, which I refused to do. Once I realized the measures my mother was prepared to use to prevent us from meeting, I became curious and it was then I decided to search for you. I wanted to meet the female wolf who could instill such fear into the heart of my mother. It was only then I began hanging out with wolves in an attempt to find you. Several of my brothers helped me and I took the all the information I found to our security experts and as I’ve explained before, I was able to find you. I had to meet you to see if I felt anything when I was near you. You see, when a Draglen meets their mate for the first time, we feel something. Call it instinct, love, fate, or whatever label you choose to give, but it happens. And Tempest, I haven’t lied to you but I’ve also never told you I felt it the first time I saw you. I think I knew then you were the one female in the universe who was meant to be mine. And no matter how hard I’ve tried to fight it, I’ve failed. I felt it the first time we met and still feel it now, but it’s magnified a hundred times over. I think you are the most beautiful female I’ve ever seen, dragon, human, or wolf, and I don’t want to live my life without you. You complete me, little wolf. I need you in my life. I know I said we could never be together but I was wrong, mikayo. I’m asking if you will be mine forever, Tempest Shellin.”

I thought I had no more tears left in my body but I was wrong because I have rivers of them streaming from my eyes. I never dreamed Domlen would say these things to me. I thought I would be alone and miserable forever, but now he wants me, he truly wants me.

“I don’t know what to say…Domlen…” I can’t speak. The lump in my throat is too big.

He bends down and leans into the tub spilling water all over my clean floor.

“Please don’t cry, my little wolf. I should have been a man and told you I loved you. Instead I was weak and too damn proud to admit my true feelings, but I’m here now and if you’ll have me, my lovely, I will take you home with me forever.”

“I’m still a wolf, Domlen, and your mother hates me and my kind,” I say.

“She does not control me and I promise, she will not harm you, for I will make you mine.”

He lowers his lips to mine in a passionate kiss and I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him further into the water.

“I’m naked and wet, Domlen,” I say, smiling.

He growls and pulls his portal out of his pants so we can leave.

“We’re leaving now before the pups show up.”

“They will not come, but I would at least like to put some clothes on and take some of my things with me. Although I was in my wolf form, I made my first trip to Kalin naked and I’d like to be clothed when I make my second.”

Domlen helps me out the tub and as fast I put my clothes on, he takes them off. I gather my family pictures, some of my personal items along with some of my clothes. I’m not giving up my shorts. I don’t care if the ladies on Kalin don’t wear them. I take one last look around my room and decide to just write a letter for Corbin and Sam. They may not care about me anymore but I still care about them.

Once I’m done with the letter, I look at Domlen. He pulls out his portal and this time doesn’t give me a chance to decide if I need to take anything else. He wraps his arms around me and we’re off to his home on Kalin.

We’re lying in bed together, laughing about our first meal together. Suddenly Domlen looks at me with a somber expression and I know he has something on his mind.

“Tempest, I need to talk to you about our union,” he says seriously.

“Okay, Domlen. You know you can talk to me about anything.”

“I know we should be planning our future, my lovely, but I can’t finalize the arrangements until I have my sister back.”

“I understand, Domlen, but how do you think she’s going to feel about me?”

“Oh, she’s going to hate you and may even try to poison you.”

What the fuck?

I look at him to see if he’s joking, but he’s not. He’s serious. I try to sit up, but he holds me down.

“Domlen, you just said your sister is going to hate me.”

“Yes, but she hates all the women in the palace, so you’ll fit right in.”

He smiles at me and I roll my eyes at him. Yeah, I do that a lot but he deserves it. My Domlen is a very kinky…uh…I mean naughty dragon.

“So, does your family know I’m here?”

“Yes, everyone knows, Tempest, even my mother, who has started wearing all black gowns and veils over her face to express her distaste of you being here in the palace. But don’t let that worry you. I think she did the same thing after Shalisi moved here with Gemi.”

“Shit, Domlen, you sure…”

“I’m sure about you and I know everything else will fall in line. Remember, my little wolf, it’s my rules and my way,” He beams. We start kissing but I have a sudden thought and pull away.

“Wait, how soon before we do this union? I think I want to reach out to my mom. She’s always supported my every decision in the past.”

He looks at me with concern and says, “I can’t do a union with you until my sister is home. I hope that’s okay, but unless she is here, it won’t be official for me. I’m very close to my sister.”

“I understand. That will give me time to get to know this place.”

Domlen leans over and places a kiss on my lips, then leans down and picks up his handcuffs off the floor.

“Do you want to play again?” he asks, with a little hope and a lot of mischief in his eyes.

“I don’t think I want the handcuffs. I think having the magical flowers around my wrists is more fun,” I giggle.

“I love you, Tempest.”

“I love you more, Domlen.”
