The Proposal (A Billionaire Romance) by Nikki Wild (21)

Twenty-One

The following morning the newly betrothed lovebirds woke up in each other’s arms, each of them more blissfully happy than they could ever have imagined.

“What would you like to do today lover?” Shane asked as he lightly stroked Dani’s hair.

“I guess it depends on how much business you have to take care of today. What’s on your agenda?”

Shane smiled and kissed the tip of her nose. “Nothing. No business today. I was hoping we could spend our whole Sunday together, unless of course you’ve already made plans?”

“That would be so great Shane. I have no plans. We can do anything you want.”

“You know what I’d really like to do? I’d like to really check out this island. I’ve hardly seen any of Maui since I’ve been here. Other than the interiors of restaurants and clubs that is.”

“Oh I’d love to show it to you. It’s an incredible island. Why don’t we do the Hana Highway today? We could pack a picnic lunch.”

“What do you mean by ‘do the Hana highway’? I thought Hana was a town on the other side of the island?”

“It is but it’s the drive over there that’s so much fun. The road to Hana is only 52 miles long but it takes around three hours to drive it. There’s like fifty-some bridges and over six hundred turns. It’s a very narrow twisting mountain road but the scenery is breathtaking. You don’t get car sick do you? ”

“Of course not. I drive high-performance race cars as a hobby. It sounds great. Let’s go.”

After they ate breakfast and had shower sex, they got dressed and packed for their driving adventure.

Dani packed a picnic basket with various cheeses, fruits, and chicken sandwiches and placed a bottle of Pinot Grigio in the wine chiller. Shane threw their swimsuits and snorkel gear in a duffle bag and loaded everything into the trunk of his car. Then he lowered the convertible roof and the two of them were on their way.

Shane was immediately in awe of the spectacular island. He had been all over the world in his business travels and considered himself to be somewhat jaded. It took a lot to impress him but everything about Maui was amazing. The road to Hana was just like Danielle described. The journey itself was actually the destination so they took their time in order to fully appreciate the pure unspoiled natural beauty of the island. They made dozens of stops along the way and took hundreds of photos.

They swam in the warm surf, snorkeled in the colorful reef with sea turtles and picnicked on a black sand beach. They investigated sea caves and collapsed lava tubes and hiked around the Seven Sacred Pools and the surrounding waterfalls. Every time they were about to head back to Kaanapali, Shane found something else he wanted to explore. Dani adored that wide-eyed little boy quality in him. By the end of the day Shane had gained new insight into Dani’s unfaltering conservation principles and why she fought so fiercely to protect her beloved island of Maui. Eventually it got so late they decided to just spend the night in Hana.

“We’re going to have to get up awfully early in the morning to get to work on time from here,” warned Dani.

“No we’re not,” laughed Shane. “Because we’re not going in tomorrow.”

Danielle was giddy. “Are you serious? We’re just going to blow off work?”

“Yep. That’s right. I’ll notify Margie. Let’s check into our room and get some dinner shall we?”

After their romantic candlelight dinner at Hana’s premiere five-star restaurant, Shane and Dani took a leisurely stroll around the quaint shops in the Hawaiian town. Shane bought an orchid lei for her and draped it around her neck.

“Aloha my island princess.” He said before kissing her sweetly on the lips.

While they were out and about they bought some fresh clothes for the morning as well as a couple of toothbrushes. Danielle also picked out a bottle of lilac scented foaming bath oils and a couple of vanilla candles.

Shane instantly caught on to what she was planning for the evening. “I sure do love the way your mind works woman.” Once they were back in their suite he ordered a bottle of the hotel’s finest champagne and a tray of chocolate-covered pineapple slices from room service.

Danielle started filling the oversized Jacuzzi tub with hot water and fragrant bath oils. Next she lit the candles on the vanity before slipping out of her hotel robe and into the luxurious bath.

“Shane baby? What are you doing honey!?” she called out to him.

“I’ll be right in Danielle. I’m just paying the gentleman,” he replied.

A couple of minutes later Dani was pleasantly surprised to see a silver champagne trolley being wheeled into the bathroom courtesy of her completely nude fiancé.

“You rang Madam?” Shane was using his snootiest British butler voice. “Champagne for m’lady?”

“Why yes I would love some champagne Jeeves and would you please ring up Queen Elizabeth for me? She left her crown in the downstairs loo again.” They giggled together at their own silliness.

Shane poured two flutes of the sparkling bubbly and handed one to Dani as he climbed awkwardly into the bathtub, sloshing water over the sides.

They laughed and groped each other under the water like two kids, while drinking and feeding each other the chocolate-dipped fruit. Then Dani turned on the whirlpool jets and let the pulsating stream of water flow between her legs.

“Mmmmmm…..I don’t know. I’m thinking I might want to marry this tub instead. It’s giving you a run for your money.” Dani started purring from the vibrating water massage.

“Oh yeah? I don’t think so. Can a bathtub do this?” Shane grabbed her by both her legs and hooked them over his shoulders. Then he took his cock in hand and steered it into her still submerged pussy. Their vigorous fucking caused half the water to splash out onto the marble floor around them.

During their morning breakfast on their balcony, Shane spread a half-dozen tourist brochures out on the table in front of Dani while she was eating her banana-mango pancakes.

“Check these out,” he said. “I picked these up in the lobby.”

Dani almost choked on her food. “You crack me up. You’re acting like a total tourist now. Do you suddenly have an urge to do these lame activities? Next thing I know you’ll be wearing Bermuda shorts with sandals and dark socks.”

“I’m not interested in the boring tours, but I would like to see these things. Like this Haleakala dormant volcano. It looks fantastic, but I don’t care to ride a silly bicycle down the slope while a tour van drives along next to me. That’s way too tame.”

“Well why don’t we take a helicopter tour of it? There are several companies that do it.”

“Yes! That’s what I’m talking about.” Shane made all the arrangements while Dani was in the shower in an effort to hide the details from her. They had no choice but to check out of their lovely Hana hotel early once Shane learned there was no quick route to Kahului Airport on Maui’s eastern coast.

As they pulled into the airport Dani asked Shane what tour company he had decided to go with.

“You’ll see,” was his only reply.

A man in coveralls met them out on the tarmac with a clipboard and pointed to the helicopter they’d be taking. Shane instructed Dani to go over to it and take the front passenger seat while he and the man finished their discussion. Her lower jaw practically dropped to the ground when Shane climbed into the pilot’s seat a couple minutes later.

“What? You know how to fly a helicopter Shane? I don’t know why I’m even surprised.”

“I don’t know either….. now put on your headset so we can talk to each other. This bird is pretty loud.”

Shane ran through his flight checklist and familiarized himself with the instrument panel while Dani was doing a pathetic job of trying to hide her fear.

“Aren’t you worried about flying around a 10,000 foot high volcano? It’s pretty big.”

“What’s the matter? Are you afraid I won’t see it? I promise I’ll keep my eyes open for it. Now relax. I’m sure it’s not much different than Mount Etna or Mount St. Helens.”

“You flew a helicopter over those?”

“Yes I did. So there’s nothing to worry. I’m not a beginner,” Shane assured her. “Have you ever seen Maui by air?”

“No I haven’t. It’s too expensive for me.”

“Well then this will be an adventure for both of us,” he said as the noisy rotor blades started spinning and they lifted straight up off the ground.

“Even though I’m the pilot Danielle, I still need your island expertise. You have to be our tour guide and tell me what we’re looking at, okay?”

“It’s a deal. Captain? Is the pilot called a captain?”

“Yes. I especially like how that sounds when you say it. I’m already turned on. See?” Shane gestured to the obvious hard-on he had in his shorts.

“Yes I see that. Very impressive Captain.” Dani would have normally started rubbing it but resisted the urge under the circumstances. “But please keep your mind on not crashing into the volcano, okay?”

“Oh yes where is that pesky volcano? Where could it be? Oh you mean that giant thing right below us? Hey I didn’t know there was an observatory at the top?”

“Yes that’s Haleakala Observatory. It’s actually owned by the University of Hawaii’s Institute of Astronomy. The Air Force also has a research lab in there.”

“Well I can see why. It’s got ideal conditions. The summit of the volcano is above about a third of the Earth’s atmosphere.”

Sharing her own knowledge helped Dani to eventually relax and enjoy the fantastic aerial tour of Maui in Shane’s very capable hands. Besides the majestic Haleakala, they took in the pristine beauty of the island’s varied and dramatic scenery; the jagged coastal cliffs, lush mountains, tropical jungles, golden beaches and amazing waterfalls. They circled Maui’s watery perimeter several times which allowed Shane to get a rare view of the far-reaching protective coral beds that surround it. Danielle was happy to see that her captain was completely awestruck. Finally, Shane landed the helicopter on the tarmac of the Kapalua Airport on Maui’s western coast.

“What are we doing Shane? Doesn’t the tour company care if you leave their helicopter over on this side of the island? Don’t they want you to bring it back to their office? What about the car? We can’t just leave it over there? Should I call Paolo to pick us up? I’m sure he won’t mind.”

“Paolo? Danielle, come on. What are you thinking crazy lady? The tour company doesn’t give a shit where I land this thing or where I leave it. I can nosedive it into the ocean if I want, as long as I can pay for it. Same with my car. I can leave it over there if I want and never lay eyes on it again. But I’m actually fond of it so I’ve arranged for it to be delivered to our home tonight. And we sure as hell don’t need to call Paolo to pick us up for fuck’s sake, because that’s what a limousine service is for. It’s all taken care of.”

Shane smiled and kissed Dani on the forehead in a way that made her feel like a naïve child. She sat there dumbfounded while she watched him hop out of the helicopter to speak with the approaching airport personnel.

It suddenly occurred to her that she still wasn’t used to thinking in billionaire terms like that, and quite possibly never would. It was so easy to forget how worlds apart their lives really were. In her world, money was always a factor and more often than not, an obstacle or at least an accepted boundary. In his world, those obstacles and boundaries didn’t exist at all and never had. She began to see how that could easily lead to a mindset of entitlement regarding the real world around him. It gave her momentary pause and cause for concern and it made her wonder exactly what type of husband and father he would be.
